January 25.
The New Year was always a spectacular celebration anywhere in Asia, and Tokyo was no exception. Aster and Lucinda walked along a street fair that had been going on for two days, with no signs of slowing down. Tori followed silently behind them, watching anyone that might be watching them.
There were many celebrations around the city, most of them fairly localized. Outside of them, business went on. People stumbled home from the matsuri, got some sleep, went to work or school, and then went back to the party for another evening.
The two cousins looked from one booth to another, enjoying the festival. There were games, food vendors, and merchants selling everything from cheap trinkets to expensive jewelry and hand-embroidered kimonos. At the end of one row, Aster recognized a kimono seller and pulled Lucinda into his enclosure.
He was an older man, with a welcoming smile that widened when he saw Aster and Tori.
“Greetings, cousins!” he said. “What can I get for you this day?”
“I wanted to introduce my sister to you,” Aster said. “’Cinda, this is Ishihara Hiroshi. He is a distant cousin of mine through my father. He owns a company here in Tokyo that makes traditional garments and the accessories for them, from hair ornaments and wigs to tabi socks and geta. Hiroshi, this is my adopted sister, Fushida Lucinda.”
“It is always an honor to meet a Fushida,” he said, bowing to her. “It is doubly so when that Fushida is family. Please let me know if there is anything that I can provide for you. I have everything from simple sleeping garment to a hand-crafted wedding kimono that is worthy of the Imperial family, and at family prices.”
While Lucinda looked, Aster watched her, fingering her necklace. It was her Christmas present from Takagi, and she still marveled at it. A heart shaped white kunzite, over one inch across, was suspended a heavy platinum chain. It was brilliant cut, and looked more like a diamond. She had only removed it to bathe or swim since the moment he had fastened the chain around her neck. Takagi’s thoughtfulness in getting her the reminder of her missing lover meant more to her than anything else he could have done.
On Aster’s wrist was the other Christmas present that meant everything to her. Haruka had given her a gold bracelet with a cabochon of clear crystal. Under the crystal was a nearly incandescent silver hair, neatly coiled. Aster never asked where Haruka had found the hair, or why she had chosen to have the gift made instead of throwing it away. She was too grateful to her lover for understanding the nature of her obsession.
Lucinda found a set of hair ornaments that were horn, and decorated with amethysts and matching pearls. Aster watched her check how they would look in a mirror, and then turn to the salesman with the box in her hands. She handed it to him, and then started picking out smaller sets for all of the girls. She brought over a box similar to hers with garnets and gold pearls decorating it.
“What do you think, Aster?” she asked.
“I think that you have impeccable taste,” Aster said. “These are beautiful.”
“Then I am getting them for you,” Lucinda said. “You already got gifts for the girls. I never spend the money Uncle Hosyu gives me.”
“Neither do I,” Aster said. “I keep buying things for the girls, or the boys, I’ve paid off Nathan and Quentin’s student loans, and I’m putting Thomas through college, now that he’s changed his major. That reminds me, you should finish your seismology degree.”
“I know I should,” Lucinda said. “I will get my transcript from California and apply to the Science University. I could probably enter in the summer term part time, and go full time starting in the fall.”
“Yes,” Aster said. “We can take turns looking after the babies, or we could get a nursemaid for during the day.”
“I would rather take care of them myself,” Lucinda said. “I see your point, though. I must finish my degree.”
“Exactly,” Aster said. “I was thinking of entering college, myself, this fall. I don’t know the first thing about business or finance. A degree might help me understand better, and make better decisions.”
“Then we could go to school together,” Lucinda said, smiling. “I would like that. We do not spend enough time together, Aster.”
“Now that I’ve convinced Vincent about the restaurant, and Sean about the building,” Aster said. “There’s no reason why we can’t spend the time together that Takara never allowed.”
Lucinda paid for the ornaments, and the two of them left the booth. They were in no hurry. Despite the time of year, the day was an almost comfortable temperature. The body heat of many people in a relatively small area contributed to the temperature.
They headed back to a stir fry booth to meet some of the others, when Lucinda gasped, and nearly dropped her packages.
A moment later, she did, as she doubled over and dropped to her knees.
Aster knelt next to her adopted sister and reached up to her medallion. She touched the tiny switch, and spoke softly, knowing that her message would be heard clearly.
“This is Sol,” she said. “There’s one coming, just as Moon predicted. From Terra’s reaction, I’d say that it’s close to where we are.”
“On our way,” Vincent said.
Aster picked up Lucinda’s packages and helped the other Senshi to her feet. The two of them made their way to the concealment of some decorative shrubbery.
Once concealed from view, they waited until Lucinda felt the direction that the daimohn was coming from. Then, holding their packages, the two pulled out their henshin wands.
“Terra Planet Power Transform!”
“Solar Cosmic Power Transform!”
The two of them looked down at their suddenly empty hands, grinned at one another, and ran in the direction of the screaming.
When they arrived, the other Senshi and Kishi were also converging. A blue blur was snatching noncombatants and whisking them to safety.
Kishi Mercury had placed the last person on their feet when the daimohn swept one of its forelimbs through a booth, sending debris flying. One piece caught the helmeted Kishi across the head, sending him flying. He landed heavily on Sailor Jupiter, stunning her for a few moments.
Kishi Sol and Sailor Terra both ran to check on both of them while the rest of the Senshi maneuvered the daimohn around so that Sailor Moon had a clear shot at it.
“Moon Laser Arrow Strike!”
The beam of light hit the daimohn squarely in the middle of its body. It disappeared in the expected flash of light, leaving the Senshi breathing hard, and a quartet standing to one side, staring into one another’s eyes.
Sailor Terra was lost in the perfect cobalt of Kishi Mercury’s eyes, darker than Endymion’s and with just a touch of green. She felt the cold wind his presence generated in his mind, but did not feel chilled by it, only cooled.
Kishi Mercury felt himself encased by moist, fertile soil. He had the sensation of being completely enclosed, but not imprisoned. He never wanted to be free.
Kishi Sol lost himself in the cool green of Sailor Jupiter’s eyes. It was like being in a forest, or in a bed of ivy. It was sheltering and protective, not stifling.
Sailor Jupiter basked in the heat of the Sun, feeling much the same way that a plant must feel during the day. She felt warmed through, and cozy, and completely relaxed.
Sailor Sol looked over at Kishi Saturn, and the two of them grinned at one another.
“It looks as though you will have to coordinate our after-fight briefing and meal,” he said.
“No problem,” she said. She cautiously approached the quartet, and paused as they looked up, and then their eyes shifted. Kishi Sol and Mercury stared at one another, and Sailor Terra was completely captivated by Sailor Jupiter.
“Excuse me,” Sailor Sol said, gazing at her partner first.
The four of them tore their eyes from one another to look at her with identical stunned looks on their faces.
“We need to leave,” Sailor Sol said. “Finish this at the Compound.”
“Right,” three of them said, and then Jupiter looked over at Mercury.
“You’re coming with us,” she said, in a tone that suffered no argument.
“What about Pluto?” he asked softly.
“Tell her to stuff it,” Sailor Sol said. “Mini Moon says we’re all there, and she should know.”
“I hope you’re right, Warleader,” he said. “I will take it on faith, for now.”

Aster gently patted her nephew Kento on the back, and was rewarded with a moist burp. She removed him from her shoulder and handed him to Usagi. Usagi took him away to change his diaper while Aster cleaned up the mess left from preparing baby bottles while preparing food for a large group of people.
ChibiUsa and Hotaru were amusing his brother, Jishin, who was already fed and changed by the much more efficient and less busy team of Michiru and Haruka. Aster watched the girls for a few moments, until Usagi reappeared with Kento. Minako and Rei immediately took him away from her and sat down with him, cooing and making silly faces.
“Aster,” Ami said, walking up to her. “I have a problem.”
“Your planet partner is frantically pillowing with my adopted sister, my partner, and Mako-chan,” Aster said. “I know what you mean. It’s not any easier on me. I’m thinking about dragging Takagi off and having my way with him.”
“If we start that,” Ami said reasonably. “Who will watch the babies? ChibiUsa’s the only one who won’t be affected, and she’s not old enough to watch to babies all by herself.”
“You’re right,” Aster said. “Let’s figure out who won’t be affected.”
She walked back into the kitchen and stopped at the whiteboard. She picked up the dry erase marker and started mapping out relationships, trying to see if there was anyone who wasn’t connected, directly or otherwise, to the quartet having frenetic sex in the guesthouse.
She started with the four principles, and wrote down who their planet partners were. Then, she wrote down who their planet partners were Bonded to. Then, she wrote down THEIR planet partners. Then, she wrote down who THEY were bonded to.
When she finished the diagram, she frowned in concentration, and then sighed in resignation. She and her bondmates were the most able to handle the inevitable sexual frustration.
She headed into the main room to share the bad news, and was diverted by a knock on the door.
Before she could make it to the front door, ChibiUsa jumped up and ran across the floor and flung open the door.
Hana and Toshiro were standing on the porch.
“We wanted to know if you guys were up to company, Sunshine,” Toshiro said. “Hana thought that you might need a responsible adult.”
“She’s right,” Aster said, smiling weakly. “The quartet in the Guest House is driving us nuts.”
“We’ll babysit,” Hana said, stepping into the house. “We can keep ChibiUsa amused, too. She told Toshiro that she wanted to know about building houses.”
“I think she wants to build a dollhouse like a real house,” Aster said. “Feel free, Toshiro. Training is never a waste of time, even if it only gives you an understanding of how the simple folk live.”
“Is there anything that needs doing?” Toshiro asked.
“Not that I know of,” Aster said. “You could always take her to the basement, and see if you can solve the mystery of what those purple lines on the plans were.”
“That sounds interesting,” he said, smiling. “Come on, Hime-chan, let’s go get us some tools, an we’ll go treasure hunting in the basement.”
He scooped ChibiUsa up and carried her, big girl that she was, out to their van. Hana turned to Aster with a smile.
“This is my first chance to play with the babies,” she said. “Toshiro and I never felt that the time was right to have any of our own. Maybe soon it will be.”
“Maybe,” Aster said. “They’re over here.” She waited while Hana traded her shoes for slippers and led the way to where the double cradles were.
Jishin was asleep, but Kento was still awake, with one foot in his chubby hands, playing with his toes.
He looked up when Hana approached and then returned to contemplating his digits.
“They’ve both just been fed and changed,” Aster said. “Do you know how to change a baby?”
“Yes, Sunshine,” Hana said, kissing Aster on the cheek. “I may have been an only child, but my mother had neighbors with lots of children, and I learned how to do everything. Where are the bottles?”
“In the refrigerator door,” Aster said. “There’s instructions taped to the microwave for warming them that way, or you can do it the old-fashioned way. The bottles are autoclavable plastic.”
“No problem,” Hana said. “Now, why don’t you go get your lovers and pillow them all senseless?”
“Thanks, Hana,” Aster said. She kissed the other Senshi quickly and headed to the solarium, where she knew that the other four were waiting for her.

Aster woke early the next morning, just before dawn, with the knowledge that her partner was up, as well, and that there was some kind of difficulty that he didn’t want to talk about.
She got up, and a trace of pain in her body where there shouldn’t be one gave her the hint she needed about Vincent’s problem. She quickly showered and dressed, left a note to come to Chiba House for breakfast, and then crossed the yard.
When she stepped into the kitchen, she could smell crepes cooking. She watched Vincent flip one with the careless ease of years of practice. She waited until the crepe was stuffed, rolled, and on a serving platter before she reached over and take the pan off of the stove.
“Don’t worry about it, Apollo,” she told him. “The soreness is normal. Ask Nathan and Quentin if you don’t believe me. You haven’t had that kind of penetration of your own free will, ever. Now, no matter how well prepared you were, you’re bound to be sore. You’ve stretched parts that haven’t been stretched in a while, and never with your full cooperation. Did it hurt at the time?”
“No,” he admitted. “It burned and stung a bit, but it didn’t hurt none. An then, when he was inside me … I’d never felt anything like that before.”
“He must have known how to hit your prostate,” Aster said. “It’s almost like the G-spot in a woman. Sometimes its called the male G-spot. Stimulating it causes intense pleasure. Someone who knows what they’re doing can bring a man to orgasm just by massaging the prostate.”
“So nothin’s wrong?” Vincent asked.
“Nothing’s wrong,” Aster reassured him. “If you think this is bad, you should talk to one of the girls about the morning after their first time. Even if you don’t remember any pain, you wake up aching all over and the only position that’s comfortable is with your legs spread. When you finally get up to relieve yourself, it stings like nothing you’ve ever experienced before.”
”I was a bit sore, elsewhere,” he said. “I’m not sore after a night with ‘Cinda.”
“Was your interaction with Mercury one-sided?” Aster asked tactfully. Vincent blushed.
“I didn’t think so,” she said. “There’s more friction involved in anal intercourse than vaginal. Your poor jade stem isn’t used to being squeezed like that, and I don’t know how accustomed he is to penetration. I’ll finish breakfast. You go take a hot bath, and take him in with you.”
“If we do that, we won’t take no bath,” Vincent said.
“Yes, you will,” Aster said. “You’re both probably going to be too sore for anything else. Trust me on this.”
“Okay, honey,” Vincent said, surrendering the spatula. “I trusts you. You gonna finish my crepes?”
“Yes,” Aster said. “I’ll also make the stuff for everyone else.”
“Okay, Sunshine,” he said. He pressed a kiss to her forehead, and left the kitchen, unbuttoning his shirt as he went.
Aster turned back to the stove and began making crepes.
She was just finishing them when Lucinda and Makoto entered the kitchen, smiling and laughing. They quickly put their aprons on and started working with Aster, putting everything together for breakfast.
