Roar
Sorry, gang, too tired to answer individually. Next time.

Esther instantly fumed at the treatment. “I absolutely *refuse* to be a party to this,” she said. She started to walk away from the others only to find her way blocked by the sonic barrier.
“You aren’t going anywhere, girlie,” Star said over her shoulder. “If you don’t want to participate then sit your ass down and think about Abel getting better, pray about it, meditate, do the hokey pokey, whatever the hell you have to but you aren’t getting out of that circle.”
Esther looked dismayed and then personally insulted. She sat down hard on the ground and folded her arms over her chest, looking positively mutinous.
“Taka, Hunt, Gun, Uri, inner circle as usual,” Circe said. “Everyone else form a circle around us. Think healing thoughts and positive energy. Try to visualize it as light coming from you and push it toward us. If you need some kind of sound to help focus, a simple “ohm” or “ah” will work.”
Everyone nodded and moved to the places they had been directed. Takara, Hunt, Gun and Uri formed a loose circle around Abel and Circe, who was standing on Abel’s left hand side, speaking quietly into his ear. There seemed to be a soft, white light connecting the inner circle.
Uri raised his hands above his head, his wings flaring out. “Here I do invite the powers of Earth to provide the foundation of healing. Hail and welcome.”
Gun took a deep breath and allowed his wings their full span, just touching the edges of Uri’s. “Here do I invite the powers of Air to lend the breath of life and health. Hail and welcome.”
Takara did the same with her wings. “Here do I invite the powers of fire to burn away pain and injury. Hail and welcome.”
Hunter wrapped the edges of his wings around Takara’s then Uri’s completing the connection. “Here do I invite the powers of water to wash away pain and injury. Hail and welcome.”
Circe nodded. “Hail and welcome to the elemental powers. Great Lord of the light, sacred Mother, hear the call of those who would aid one who’s time has not yet come to enter the Gates. Hail and welcome, Lord and Lady.”
The others focused and tried to tamp down any fear or insecurity on their parts. Ion, Hugue and Leon were amazed to see the energy come from them like multicolored ribbons of light. Though Hugue was hardly surprised that his thoughts and feelings were the color of blood. The ribbons of light began to circle, weaving around one another, drawing closer to the center. The light wound its way around the four people standing at the center circle then shot skyward, twining together until hit coalesced into a solid beam of light.
“Not to rush anything but I can see the Gates,” Skye said.
“And these bitches are getting way too close,” Star said.
Esther turned to look and the scream that rose in her throat barely came out as a squeak. In the dim light she could see a set of massive black gates, one of them swinging widely open. Gathering around it were several women dressed in green and grey, the mournful wail from them seemed to echo through every space in the small clearing.
Circe put one hand toward the sky and the other to Abel’s chest, just over his heart. The white light swirled above her then shot down into her hand, seemed to pass through her body and directly into Abel. His eyes opened wide and his back bowed as though someone had lifted him by the front of his shirt. An almost unearthly roar issued from his open lips, startling everyone present with its’ ferocity. All sounds of wailing had suddenly been silenced.
Under Circe’s hand Abel’s skin began to darken to black. The color steadily moving up his chest, finally bleeding into his hair changing the color from moonlight to midnight.
Cain smiled a little to himself. “Ah, .02 lives. Too bad.”
