Mission

A.N. Thank you very much, reviewers (both of you LOL)! I really appreciate your attention and kind words. I will try to keep the OOC-ness under control... as long as we all agree that portraying Walter as super-capable and sexy is not OOC ;) I do realize that these are short chapters, for some reason I always write with short chapters, but I am sorry if it bothers you.

Please note that I rewrote the warning to include violence (it\'s Hellsing, folks)

Many, many thanks to Noir, who helped me a great deal with the question of a possible gun for Walter and other Hellsing-related questions. (Any mistakes are of course my own).

Mission

Walter hadn\'t had long to decide who doo do. Integra and Alucard simply weren\'t listening to him. He didn\'t even think much about catching them together like that, he was too concerned with Seras and what might be happening to her.

He couldn\'t order troops, not without Sir Integra\'s backup. She wouldn\'t even approve of his leaving on his own. But she could dismiss him from her service if she wanted to. Some things were even more important than his tremendous loyalty to the Hellsing family.

He made a stop in the Hellsing armory. Walter did know how to shoot; eveyone at the institution did. A mission like this might require more than wires.

After brief consideration he chose a Walther PPK. Integra had used one on occasion and it should serve him well. He loaded it with silver-mercury bullets. Seven in the clip and one in the chamber: combat loads. He put the safety on and left.

The Cremor Club was close and Walter set off to walk there. He would be missed, Integra\'s evening tea was due soon. Would Integra worry about him? Probably, but she should have worried about Seras as well. Clearly, it was up to him.

Eventually he reached the club. It kept a low profile, and he suspected unescorted humans had no business here except as food. Walter decided to spy out the situation.

There were no guards on the outside, oa maa massive door at the front and a smaller one at the back. He saw no activity, and certainly no sign of Seras Victoria.

From what he knew of the Cremor Club there were three main vampires, old ones. Probably he would run into newly created subordinates, and possibly ghouls. He wasn\'t worried about the ghouls, but the vampires... they could prove a challenge.

It was time. Walter went to the back door. There was a small plaque on the door: Cremor Club, and a bit of graffiti: No Reign in Hell for the No Life King.

In the end, he drew a set of lockpicks out of his pocket and set to work on the lock. Lockpicking was one of his surprising talents, and soon it gave way. Readying his wires, he opened the door.

He found himself alone in a small storeroom. A door led into another room. He listened at it, and could hear signs of activity.

Finally he opened the inner door quickly, holding up the monofilament wires.

A vampire sat on a couch, with a teenaged boy on his lap. The vampire was sucking hungrily at the boy\'s neck. A few ghouls shambled nearby. The vampire looked up and saw Walter.

Walter quickly ran forward and cut the vampire\'s head off with his wires. The head rolled on to the floor in a gush of blood, and the vampire\'s body slumped over, showing the blackened stump of the neck and bleeding from the severed arteries. Walter wai but but there was no further motion from the body. Too new to know how to regrow himself, apparently.

The boy\'s bloody body slipped off the vampire\'s lap and the ghouls shambled toward it. One picked up the hand and bit into it. Walter easily beheaded the ghouls with wires, their bodies toppling and gushing white fluid. He could see that the boy was dead. He had to cut his head off too, to prevent him from becoming a ghoul, but it saddened him.

Upstairs he could heaicesices, but he hadn\'t used the gun yet and they didn\'t seem to be coming for him. But he couldn\'t wait down here for them; he had to find out if Seras was there. He headed up the stairs, this time drawing the Walther.
