WELCOME HOME PT.3

When the stone floor of the bathroom finally became too uncomfortable, Kenshin and Kaoru rose to clean themselves up, playfully swatting at each other and flicking soap suds like two naughty children. They were both feeling quite drowsy by the time they were done and decided that a nap was in order. Sinking gratefully onto their soft futon, they fell into a deep sleep with their arms around each other.

Kaoru was the first to awaken a few hours later, her head feeling disoriented and fuzzy. She could tell by the low light that it was almost dusk. Suddenly, they both remembered something. "The clothes!" they cried. They'd left their clothes all over the kitchen floor.

Sure enough, they heard Sano's disgusted voice yell from the kitchen, "Hey...what the hell is this?!" The heard his heavy steps come stomping down the hall, and then the sound of their clothes being thrown against their door.

"I know you guys are newlyweds and all, but can you try to be a little more decorous next time? There are impressionable children living here too, you know!"

As Sano's grumbles faded down the hall, Kaoru ruefully looked at Kenshin and said, "I guess the honeymoon's over."
