Troubled desires
Chapter 3: Troubled desires
===============================================

For the first time in three months, the sky tonight was now completely black since most of the bigger moons were nowhere to be seen. The smaller ones were now orbiting the night sky, with barely enough light to make everything at night visible.
The white trees glowed in the dark, thanks to the luminosity of the water that the trees absorbed from the rivers around here.
In the sky, there was the brightness of the stars, along with the colorful cosmic ribbons that everyoallealled the Aurorean lights.
Many couples were outside walking, enjoying the nice night and stargazing. The females were blushing and giggling, as their lovers\' whispered romantic sweet things into their ears. Much to the disgust of the Royal Guard, who was also outside sitting on a park beach watching the couples.
He had just gotten back from the Time Temple, but he did not want to stay inside the palace for now. Therefore, he had decided to take a walk to clear his head, and to try to process the information that he had been given by the Time Jaeri.
He could not believe it. Parie\'s own sister had killed him. Okay, so the Time Jaeri did not come out and actually say it, but with the way she put it; There was only one possibility. That she had become a murderer.
After all, there was only one way to access a powerful holy object that was bound to a person\'s soul... by stealing that person\'s life-force (which was also believed to be the soul itself).
The one question he had on his mind was: WHY? Parie was so easy to like, and he was well loved by all.
He sighed, burying his hands in his face as he recalled the first time that he and the prince had actually met together face to face for the first time officially.
It had been the day that Parie had turned fourteen, and he was supposed to give Parie his first lesson in the art of battle and defensive tactics. After all, it was the tradition of the royal family to have their drendren be given the first lesson of the warrior\'s way by the Royal Guard.
He had taught Aurelia for the first week when she had turned fourteen herself, after all. However, that was years ago.
Parie had failed at everything miserably on that first day, but the way he was so eager and attentive in his lessons made him a very easy person to like.
The prince was also very friendly towards him, so for some strange reason he couldn\'t help but take it easy with the prince, even though he knew that the prince would not have a very good idea of battle and defensive tactics if he guided the prince with such a gentle hand.
Moreover, over the week, they became such good friends. This frankly surprised him. Because he had never been close with the Royal Family at all. Yes, he was royal to them, and respected them... but that was a completely different thing.
The lessons with him was done after the week, and the lessons themselves was turned over to a different teacher, but Parie still came to see him. Then came the midnight visits, where Parie would come up with such odd excuses like wanting to play the game called Batl\'chess with him, and end up falling asleep in his arms.
He should have stopped the strange nonsense then, but there were something about those innocent violet eyes and light purple hair that made him humor the young prince.
He could not help feeling closer to the bo wan wanting to protect him from anything. He would experience such a strange feeling, and he didn\'t know what it was at all.
It frightened him a little, which made him ashamed to be the Royal Guard somewhat. Being the Royal Guard, he shouldn\'t be even be scared of anything, much less a young prince and feelings at all.
However, he could not help it. He hated feeling helpless, but in this case, he did not seem to mind, oddly enough.
There was a kind of str thr thrill in it, Midnight visits and all.
However, thanks to Aurelia... there would never be no more midnight visits, and he would never again hold the young prince in his arms again. Now his heart seemed to be aching more than ever. Almost the same kind of heartache and pain; as that of when he felt the night that he held Parie\'s lifeless body to his own in the garden.
He also felt a kind of rage. He had only started to be truly happy and accept Parie\'s affections towards him both mentally and physically, when Aurelia had to go and wreck that.
She had to die for such a horrible, sinful thing....
He looked upwards at the stars, smiling as he imagined strangling Aurelia\'s neck and listening to her pleas in asking him to forgive her for what she did. He felt somewhat better imagining that, even though he knew that if he was to actually do such a thing, it would not be very realistic.
For one thing, he could easily be convicted of treason... especially since he had no proof other what the Time Jaeri had said to him that Aurelia really murdered Parie at all. And even if he did have proof... Aurelia would not be convicted. Rather she would be disowned and then cast into outer space, where she would wander forever as an outcast. In addition, he would still be convicted of treason.
If the Royal Family discovered of his forbidden relationship with their former prince, they could also call for an conviction of child molestation, despite the age of fourteen being the age of consent and legal age on this planet. After all, every parent on the planet had a right to file charges of child molestation if they had proof that their young teenagers were being taken sexually against their will.
Even though he had never actually done anything sexual with the young prince, save for the surprise kisses given to him by the prince. Moreover, since he was dead... He could not exactly testify in court and say that he had been the one trying to seduce the Royal Guard, not the way around.
All that logic was depressing him.
The Royal Guard sighed, as he got up and walked back to the Aurorean Palace.
To make it worse, the Time Jaeri had basically said that he would have to protect that damned princess and even help her...
He felt as if he was being violated and shamed, having to work side by side with a murderer....
***********************************************************************
The Empress was pacing about her bedroom, trying not to think of the implications that the Time Jaeri had spoken of...
Not to mention that she did not really want to lose her own daughter... losing her own son was bad enough. Even though she would be only be sending her away.
The Emperor came in, and smiled when he saw his wife in the bedr
He was up for some loving tonight, and judging from the tense way his wife was acting, it looked as if she needed it too.
He walked up to her, then wrapped his arms around her; and planted a kiss on her cheek.
\"Hail\'a, mi moi..(Hello, my love)..\" He said to her, as he started cuddling up against her back.
\"Hail\'a...\" She smiled weakly, as she greeted her husband.
It was then that He noticed. \"lea ne prong motte de? ((what is wrong with you?))\"
She sighed, and then turned around to tell him about her trip to the Time Jaeri...
************************************************************************************
Aurelia were having a nightmare, tossing and turning in her queen-sized bed.
She dreamt that she was trapped inside a kaldescope of colors, inside the crystal of the Aurorean Hari. The colors faded, and she found herself falling.
\"Tis\' de, Wethrinaer! (It\'s you, traitorous bitch!) \" A boy\'s voice, that sounded so familiar to her, was shaking with rage.
She found herself running down a maze of hallways and rooms, with somebody chasing after her.
\"You shall suffer for what you did to me! There is no escaping!\"
It was then She realized that she wasningning from her own dead brother. She scoffed, now sure of her own safety.
After all, Parie had never been very good at battles.... and she doubted that even as a ghost, he could be even powerful at all.
She turned around, and came face to face with her younger brother.
He did not seem to be as enraged as before. Instead, he just looked very sad.
\"Why did you do it? I AM your brother, after all...\" He asked, blinking back tears.
\"I did it for the good of our people!\" Aurelia yelled, \"With you in the seat of the throne, with you defending the planet, we would have no hope at all! At least with the Aurorean Hari in my hands... I can ensure the survival of this planet.. Of the people. You, of all people, should know that being a ruler means you must do anything it takes to ensure your goals. Surely that isn\'t so hard to understand.\"
\"Funny, it sounds more like you\'re telling yourself the reason behind my murder is completely justified...\" He scoffed, \"For the greater good and all, right? Wrong... You only did it so that you could have the power... So that you would be more powerful than anybody on this planet! Not a good reason at all to kill me.... your own kin and blood!\"
With that, He actually started hovering in the air.
\"Oh shut up.... spare me the ghost crap... Why don\'t you go haunt somebody else, I have important things to do... Like ensuring that The Dark Forces shall never come this way!\" Aurelia snapped, and was about to move past her dead brother.
However, He moved in front of her surprisingly fast. With the strength of five men, he actually grabbed her throat and then lifted her into the air.
Aurelia gasped. It felt so real, like there was really a hand clamped around her throat. She could not breathe at all. She painfully tried to take in air, but in vain.
\"Listen well! I am no murderer like you are.... but I will not let you win so easily. If you truly want to lay claim to the Aurorean Hari, you will have to fight for it! Show me that yre wre worthy of it... not though deception and betrayal! In addition, since you have killed off my body and taken my life force against my will.... I have no choice but to become one with you. But I won\'t make that easy either!\"
With that, he threw her against a wall with such force... that her body cried out in pain.
Aurelia woke up, panting. Her chest felt as it was on fire, as if she had been suffocating....
*****************************************************************************
The Emperor wow now no longer in the mood to have a pleasurable night alone with his wife.
In fact, he was now downright angry.
\"You went to see the Time Jaeri? You know that I will have no truck with those so-called psychics and foretellers! They\'re nothing but dreamers, the lot of them.\"
\"But darling!\" The Empress pleaded. \"She foretold the doom of our planet.... the only hope for the Aurorean Race is to send Aurelia away to that primitive planet called Earth. Remember when we visited that world once? Did you not hear a word of what I told you?\"
The Emperor\'s angry eyes were like ice, as he fought down the urge to yell. \" You know very well that I do not believe in those psychics... That they rely only on the people\'s half-witted hopes and invent fantastic tales of the future... nothing but tales. I do not think that they have truly said anything that actually came true. I only believe in science and logic. In addition, I do not like what she implied about Aurelia. Our daughter would not be the murderer of our son, it would bring dishonor to our family! I will not have her saying such things, it would be treason against the Royal Family!\"
The Empress could not stand it anymore, so she just started crying helplessly.
The Emperor stared at his wife. There she went again, expressing that strange emotion.
It was times like this, that he thought that his wife wasn\'t truly a pure-blooded Aurorean.... For Aurorean women only cried if they were physically harmed in some way. Otherwise, they were the embodiment of quiet strength and with brilliant minds.
His wife was actually acting like some weak, puny outsider that relied solely too much on their emotions.
Finally, he sighed and wrapped arms around his wife. He rubbed his wife\'s back in a smoothing gesture.
He then spoke again. \"Besides... Let\'s be logical here. If we only sent Aurelia away, along with the Royal Guard... how would you expect them to give rebirth to the whole Aurorean race to fight against the force of the outsiders? It would be only a family of pureblooded Auroreans, but not enough to qualify as a whole race. Moreover, for them to produce more, the children they have would have to resort to Incest to keep their bloodlines intact... you know that Incest is one of the biggest Taboos set by our gods and goddesses. It would violate the very essence of what it means to be Aurorean.\"
She went limp in his arms. \"I know... but still, there would still be hope...\"
He sighed. It seemed that even with his reasoning in pointing out the flaws in the Time Jaeri\'s predictions, his wife still believed in what she said.

I know, this is kind of a very short chapter compared to other two. I couldn\'t come up with what else to write here... so I guess I\'ll just put a end to this chapter and move on with the next day.
