Mating Season 3
Part one: Back in Draqueen...

Rune blinked big, watery blue eyes as the castle came into view and clasped his hands together, whimpering in happiness. Home at last! Behind him Thatz was looking vaguely bored, chewing on some grass and wondering when he could eat, and Rath was sulking, a cute little pout on his face because his little demon hunting trip had finally come to an end.
The castle of Draqueen looked the same as it always had, with pretty gardens stretching out behind it and various dragon officers wandering aimlessly around, probably trying to avoid being yelled at by Alfeegi. As the three Knights walked (ok, 'as Rune dragged Rath and Thatz') through the gates and up towards the door, a familiar blonde head popped out of the bushes and its owner stood up, smiling at them, pushing his glasses up his nose. Rath gave a happy shriek and dived on Kai-stern, hugging him so tightly that he began to turn blue for a moment before the youngest knight released his grip a little.
"Welcome home," Kai-stern sasmilsmiling. Rath grinned up at him and hugged him again, then, to Rune's horror, began babbling about all their 'adventures.' After getting through the long list of demons he'd massacred, Rath scratched his head, as if trying to remember something.
"I was sure there was something else..." He muttered, then clicked his fingers as he remembered.
"Oh, yeah! Guess what? Rune slept with-mmmph!" Rath was cut off as Rune sprang forward and clapped a hand over his mouth, glaring at Thatz to stop sniggering, then turning to the very confused Kai-stern.
"What wast?" t?" He asked. Rune turned red and stammered a few times, yelping as Rath bit his hand but not letting go.
"Ehh... He-he's just... Um... I... We have to go make our reports to the lord now, seeyoulater!" Rune squeaked hurriedly, then ran off, hauling Rath with him and grabbing Thatz by the ear as he ran past. Kai-stern just blinked, shrugged, then went back to hiding in the rose bushes from the rampaging Alfeegi.
Once he'd found a quiet spot in a deserted corridor within the castle, Rune released his two prisoners and glared down at them as they were dumped unceremoniously on the hard floor.
"Oww... What did I do?" Thatz muttered, rubbing his bruised behind and wincing. As wasbe ebe expected, Rune ignored him.
"Don't you dare say anything to anyone!" Rune hissed, looking remarkably threatening for a cute little elf.
Thatz and Rath both looked puzzled, glancing ath oth other.
"You mean about killing demons?" Rath asked, one-track mind as usu
"H
"How am I supposed to ask for my lunch if I can't say anything?" Thatz asked.
"I mean abwhatwhat happened, you idiots!" Rune yelled irately, and Rath began to worry about the elf's blood pressure. He looked as though he were about to snap, or explode, or faint, or something equally dramatic.
"Oh, I get it, you mean don't mention anything about when you went off into the woods and molested Rath?" Thatz grinned wickedly. Rune declined to answer that, too busy spluttering random curses and hyperventilating.
"You did too," Rath reminded Thatz, who looked thoughtful and scratched the bridge of his nose.
"Yeah, guess you're right. We'd better keep it zipped, though, or else I think Rune might maim us." The thief said, getting up to wrap a friendly arm around the ranting elf's shoulders, grinning like a happy cat.
"Relax, I won't say a word." Thatz promised, glad when Rune calmed down a little. Rath, feeling a little left out, bounced up and hugged Rune around the waist, giggling brightly.
"No talking about mating cycles, I got it!" The black-haired boy chirped, and Rune breathed a sigh of relief. Maybe... just maybe the entire castle wouldn't find out...
At that moment Tetheus walked past, zombie-like, and stopped, turning scarily slowly to look down at them.
"Is there a problem?" He asked the three young Knights, two of which were clinging to Rune in terror.
"Eh, uh, no, no problem..." Rune managed to squeak, his eyes wide.
"Good." Tetheus replied, then turned slowly away, and walked off.
"Dude, that guy gives me the creeps." Thatz said, and Rath nodded. They both pouted as Rune peeled them off him and glared sternly at them, reminding them of their promise, then he began walking towards Lykouleon's office. Thatz and Rath shrugged and followed him, not really knowing what the big deal was about keeping their 'activities' a secret. But, if Rune wanted it...

Part two: Reports...

Rune nervously paused before Lykouleon's door, wondering if he should just turn around and run away. Before he could decide, though, Thatz and Rath stepped up on either side of him and knocked loudly on the door at the same time, calling out at the tops of their voices.
"Yo, Lykouleon-samaaaa! We're ho-oooome!" They called. Rune almost fainted right there, but instead settled for punching his two fellow knights in the sides of the head at the same time.
When the door was opened by a smiling Ruwalk, Rune was stood outside, trying to look innocent while Rath and Thatz both rubbed their bruises, pouting.
"Well, welcome back! Won't you come in? I'm afraid you'll have to wait a moment to speak with Lykouleon, Alfeegi is-"
"And THEN he was supposed to sign this form! This castle is so disorganized! How will anything ever get done?" Alfeegi complained, and the three dragon knights walked into the large office to find the aqua-haired officer standing in front of the big desk, waving his arms about as he ranted. Lykouleon caught sight of them and stood up, happy to have an excuse to stop Alfeegi.
"Rath, Thatz and Rune! How good to see you again! How did your little trip go? I can't wait to hear your reports," Lykouleon greeted them, looking at Ruwalk, who took the hint and sauntered over to Alfeegi, wrapping an arm around his shoulders.
"C'mon, Feegi, I think I saw Kai-stern hiding in the rose bushes earlier, why don't we go and give him a thorough lecture on all the important rules he's broken?" Ruwalk suggested, dragging the white dragon officer off, out of the room, ignoring Alfeegi's protests.
"So, did anything interesting happen to you?" Lykouleon asked, a little puzzled when Rune blushed and both Rath and Thatz began to snigger.
"N-no, L-Lykouleon-sama, just the usual... Rath killed some demons, and Thatz found some treasure, that's about it..." Rune managed, turning redder as Thatz and Rath giggled harder, unable to stop.
"Umm, is somethinong ong with them?" Lykouleon asked Rune, gesturing to the two knights who were clinging to Rune, gasping for breath as they burst into fit after fit of insane giggles.
"Rune didn't do anything..." Thatz managed to snicker, looking at Rath, who grinned brightly.
"Especially not me!" Raddeddded, and Lykouleon sweatdropped, watching as the two knights fell over, laughing so hard they could barely breathe. Rune was sweating, swearing silently that he was going to kill his two companions in the most painful ways possible.
"I get the feeling I'm missing something..." Lykouleon wondered out loud, and Rune quickly grabbed the other two knights by the ears, dragging them up.
"N-no! They... they're just... just drunk! Yeah, that's it! They drank too much, I'd better go make them drink some coffee," Rune grinned shakily, then turned quickly and ran, as fast as he could, away from Lykouleon, dragging the two giggling knights with him.

Part 3: Three is the magic number...

Rune glared at the two knights stuffing food into their faces, wondering if he'd gotten away with it. Did the lord know? He hoped not.
"Not hungry, Rune?" Thatz asked, finishing up his third helping of dinner. "Can I have yours?"
Rune scowled.
"Fine, I'm going to lie down, I have a headache." The elf muttered, standing up and stalking out of the large dining hall. Thatz grinned at Rath.
"Headache. Yeah, I bet." He flicked a grain of rice at Rath, and it stuck to his nose.
"You think Rune is...?" Rath asked, eyes crossing as he licked the rice off, making Thatz snicker.
"Yup. Shall we go torment him?"
"Yay!" Rath bounced happily after the thief, and the two knights made their way to Rune's bedroom, stopping outside the door.
Inside, Rune was lying on the bed, passed out. At a loud banging on the door his eyes snapped open, looking slightly... crazed.
"Yo, Rune! Can we come in?" Thatz' voice called from the other side of the door. Rune smirked wickedly and got up off the bed.

Rath blinked big, red eyes up at Thatz when there was no answer from within.
"You think he's ok?" The youngest knight asked worriedly.
"I guess we should go in," Thatz said, looking slightly afraid. "You go first."
"What? Why me?" Rath asked, squeaking as Thatz opened the door and pushed him in.
Rath stumbled into the middle of the darkened room and regained his balance, blinking as he found the bed empty. Thatz, seeing that Rath hadn't been pounced on, sauntered up next to him and shrugged.
"Guess he isn't here." The thief said, and Rath opened his mouth to reply when there was an eerie creek from behind them and the door closed. They froze.
"H-he's behind us, isn't he?" Rath trembled, hearing a low growl echo through the darkness. Thatz whimpered, nodding.
Suddenly both knights were dived on, spun around and pushed down onto the bed, yelping in surprise. Rune, it seemed, had been hiding behind the door, and he was now perched in a crouch over the two sprawled knights, grinning evilly, naked as the day he was born.
"Hi." He hissed, showing his fangs.
"U-um, hi, Rune-chi," Rath gave a shaky grin, never having seen anything, even in all his years of demon hunting, that looked quite as evil as Rune did right then.
"Yeah, uh, hi, Rune." Thatz added, yelping as Rune suddenly ripped off the thief's shirt with little effort, looking vaguely at the torn material in his hand as though it were a minor annoyance, then throwing it off the bed to his side, repeating this with Rath's shirt.
Thatz pouted.
"I liked that shirt." He muttered, "Now I have to go out and buy another-mmph!" He was effectively silenced by a pair of hungry lips closing over his, and the sound of ripping fabric as the rest of the thief's clothes met the same fate as his shirt. Rath watched this, then shrugged and obligingly stripped the rest of his own clothes off, dropping them carefully to the floor. He'd already had one set of clothes ruined, thankyouverymuch.

The morning light streamed in through the window as Lord Lykouleon stood in the doorway of Rune's room, having just opened the door, looking for the dragon knights, who had been missing all night, mysterious cries having been heard coming from the vicinity of Rune's bedroom. He looked down at the three figures on the bed, Rath and Thatz curled up, one on each side of Rune, their arms around him, all three purring like happy kittens as the slept, oblivious. So, *that* was what Ruad bad been trying to hide. Oh, well. Lykouleon shrugged and walked out, smiling. It was probably better to let Rune keep thinking he didn't know. But, Lykouleon mused as he shut the door quietly, all three knights certainly had looked happy. It was nice to see, and he smiled again, sauntering off down the corridor, whistling.
