Note: Finally back from
vacation! This was my first time going to the snowy mountains and I really like
skiing now :) Thank god I didn�t break anything in the progress, lol

They stood back to back with each other, while the knights began to surrender
them. This wasn�t good! There was no way that they could escape of this place.

Kite looked from the corner of his eye to Balmung, and then to Tsukasa. He
didn�t want them to be caught, and he didn�t want them to be deleted. He gazed
down to his wrist were the bracelet was. Should he use it? He had absolutely no
idea what would happen if he used it on a human person.

Human person? He wasn�t too sure about this. Since the knights revealed nothing
about themselves, it could be that they could be just programs. But what if
they were human�?

He shook his head and decided to choose for his friends. Even if the knights
were human, they didn�t have the right to hack into The World and
capturing the players in the progress.

Kite took a deep breath and shouted: � Data Drain! �

Once again, green strings appeared out of the bracelet and flew right through
the knights. But something weird happened� the strings flew right back and flew
inside Kite.

Unbearable pain began to fill Kite�s body and he fell on his knees screaming.

� Kite! � Yelled Balmung. � What is it Kite? Are you in pain?! What�s wrong
with you? �

But then the screaming stopped and he fell unconscious in Balmung�s arms.

In the real world, Kite fell unconscious with his head on the keyboard.

� Bal~mung�.? � Whispered Kite when he slowly opened his eyes. He saw two pair
of worried eyes staring into his own.

� Are you alright? � Asked Balmung worried, placing his hand on Kite�s forehead
to feel if he was warm.

� I-I think so� �

� Can you sit up? �

Kite sat up and placed one hand on his forehead. He had a splitting headache
and in the real world he was close to vomiting.

� What happened�? � Asked the white knight.

� I� don�t know� I used the bracelet on the knights but halfway it turned
against me. Wait! What happened to the knights? �

� See for yourself �

Balmung stood up and walked a little to the right. The boy with the bracelet
got shocked by what he saw; blood, bones� This wasn�t what the bracelet should
do! It was meant for hacking, not for killing!

� I thinks that�s why the knights are searching for you and Shugo, there is
something up with the bracelets �

� Oiiii! �

Kite and Balmung looked to the left and saw Tsukasa coming their way, all
sweaty.

� I investigated the place but there isn�t any knight�s left, I think it is
save for us to go to another server. But for now, stand still for a minute� �

� Err, why? � Asked Balmung with a dumb look on his face.

� Because I�m through my MP! That�s why! If we wait for a moment it will be
recharged and then we don�t need mp recovery items. You don�t want to know how
many monsters I encountered in my search. But I could defeat them easily, even
though they are high leveled- � Tsukasa sat down and took a deep breath.
�-However they seemed a little distracted, like they were seeking something.
I�ve never seen anything like this� how annoying �

Kite was looking at his wrist and he got lost in his thoughts. Where the
monsters searching for his bracelet too? Just was exactly was up with this rare
item? He saw the bracelet shining in the sun, and some yellow aura began to
swirl around the item. Some things had defiantly changed since the incident
four years ago. Could it be that the bracelet could do more than simply
hacking?

And then the name Shugo began to fill his mind. Balmung told him before that
that boy had the same bracelet as kite. Yes, that�s right!

� Balmung� we need to start moving. � Said the blue haired hacker tiredly.

He stood up and held his head because of the dizziness. He felt like he was
being hit by a bus and he really needed to lie down and get some rest. But
unfortunately there was no time to spare; their goal for now was to find as
many gamers as they could.

So they walked quietly across the plains and fighting monsters in the progress.
Once in a while they would try to Gate Out, but every time they did not
succeed. It appeared that they first had to kill all of the monsters on the
field before they could leave.

From out of nowhere, a little white envelope appeared above Balmung�s head.

� I received a mail�? � questioned Balmung when he tried to touch the envelope.

� Could you guys wait here for a moment? Maybe it is Helba with some
information about the knights �

� Sure � Replied Kite.

To everyone�s relief disappeared Balmung, It was about damn time he could do
that. Apparently they killed all of the monsters so now they could take a
little break.

The gray haired magician lied down on the grass and watched how the clouds
drifted by. His long hair danced in the warm wind, and his eyes seem to
twinkle. It seemed that he was totally at peace, even though he knew that the
knights could attack them every moment now.

He saw down next to the magician and hugged his knees.

� I only returned to the world so I could see my friends again,� Sighed the twin
blader. � I always thought that my friends would keep in touch with me after we
beat Cubia four years ago, but I was so wrong. I send e-mails to them, I wrote them
letters but I just didn�t receive any answer back. So I decided to try to go
online again... But I would never think that it would end up like this� �

� Shut-the-hell-up � Growled Tsukasa. � Stop feeling sorry for yourself, you
are ruining my sunbathing. If you want to cry somewhere, do it somewhere far
away from me �

Kite watched with big eyes to the boy that lied next to him. He didn�t have to
be so heartless!

� Besides, this is my second time that I get stuck in this blasted game � Snorted
the magician. � And you don�t see me crying right? So try to act like an adult
�

The twin blader sighed again and closed his eyes. Thanks to that jerk he felt
even worse than a few minutes ago. Why did they all abandon him? But he was
more disappointed in Balmung. After they defeated Cubia they used to hang out
whenever they got time� but now�

he opened his eyes and found Tsukasa�s face near his own. He could feel the
warm breath of the other boy tickling his cheeks.

� I said- � Began the gray haired magician. � To stop feeling sorry for
yourself! Quit your whining already! �

� But- �

Before he could finish his sentence he could feel how a pair of lips covered
his own. Immediately he tried to push the other boy away, but Tsukasa was stronger
and pushed him onto the ground.

� S-Stop� � Whined the twin blader.

� I already warned you once� � Growled the magician. � I can�t stand people who
pity themselves �

But before they could speak another word they heard footsteps and Balmung was
waving at them.

Tsukasa stared for a moment at the terrified twin blader and stood up, removing
some dust off his robe. Kite however still laid on the ground, confused and
shocked.

� Kite, Tsukasa � Said Balmung a little out of breath. � You never guess who
just mailed me� It was Wiseman! He told me that he escaped and that he was
hiding himself in Broken Wings Of Timeless Space. If we hurry we might
just catch up with him. So let�s go!

Tsukasa and Balmung disappeared, but Kite hesitated for a while. He knew that
this was only a game, but the kiss felt so real. Almost like he received it for
real�

He shook his head and disappeared�
