Midnight Rendezvous

I recently went through the chapter and fixed all of the spelling and grammar errors I could find. This does not mean it will be without the errors completely, but it should be a bit easier to read! 6-2-08

Kyo woke up to the warm morning sunshine on his face and wiped the blearyness out of his eyes. Where was he and how did he get here? It was only when he heard a soft almost inaudible snore from the man beside him that Kyo remembered the nights events. He looked over at Hatori and smiled at the peaceful expression on the doctor's usually stoic face. Hatori turned onto his side so that he was facing Kyo. His eyes opened and he smiled when he saw the neko staring at him. Hatori ran his hand over Kyo's toned chest, then gently grabbed the back of his neck bringing the cat's lips to his own in a searing kiss.

The kiss ended much too soon for the both of them as Hatori's phone started to ring. Hatori excused himself and answered the phone. About 30 seconds into the conversation Hatori let out a little laugh. Apparently Shigure had stayed up all night waiting for Kyo to get home and when dawn came and he wasn't home Shigure started to freak. Shigure was currently babbling about how he has failed as Kyo's guardian and that he would never forgive himself for making the mistake of not going after him when he ran off. Of course Hatori found this funny because Kyo was sitting in the room with him and was indeed safe.

Hatori went on to explain to Shigure that he was walking last night and saw the neko on the side of the road transformed so he decided to take him to his office to check up on him. Shigure suddenly changed his sad tone to that of his usual lude perverted self. All of the sudden Kyo looked up towards Hatori when he heard a long drawn out ~HA-SANNN, you didn't try to molest my poor Kyo-kun did you?~ When hatori heard this his usual reaction would be to frown and hang up, but after what happened the previous night he couldn't help but smile when Shigure asked him about whether he touched Kyo or not.

Shigure then brought Hatori out of his pleasant thought as he announced he was coming over to get Kyo and before Hatori could protest the line went dead. Hatori walked back over to Kyo and gave him a kiss.

"Shigure is on his way, you might want to get dressed. We wouldn't want him thinking anything happened now would we?"

"Hah Shigure wouldn't care either way, he'd still make jokes."

"That he would, but that's who he is. Now go get ready, he'll be here soon."

Kyo nodded his head and went into the bathroom. He came out 5 minutes later in his shirt and pants. As soon as Hatori saw he was dressed, he had to fight the urge to undress him again. He prefered his neko in the nude. Hatori decided to sneak a quick kiss before Shigure got there. He took Kyo into his arms and gave him a chaste, romantic kiss that made the neko's toes curl. When they seperated there was a knock on the door. Hatori went over and opened it, expecting to see Shigure on the other side. The dragon was, needless to say, shocked when he saw Akito standing there with the help of Kureno.

"Akito-san. I didn't expect to see you so soon. I thought I was coming to check on you in the afternoon?"

" I didn't feel good. Am I interrupting something Hatori? Or can I pull you away from you're meaningless down time to help me?"

"Of course Akito-san. I'll get my stuff and we can go back to your room so you will be more comfortable."

"No, I would rather do it here."

Hatori tenses as he realizes what will happen if Akito finds Kyo in there. Hatori looks back to see Kyo climbing out the window and relaxes knowing his neko is safe for now. The dragon leads Akito towards the bed so he can lay down for his examination. He shuts the door and gets to work, hoping to keep Akito occupied long enough that he won't notice Kyo running through the yard.

Kyo is walking down the path away from the house when he sees Shigure coming. Shigure spots Kyo and waves at him like a fool. Kyo just rolls his eyes and walks over to him. When Kyo gets within arms reach of Shigure he is scooped up into an overly clumsy hug by the older man.

"Oh my Kyo-kun I was SOOOO worried!" said Shigure in an over acted emotional tone. He squeezed the poor cat so hard that he was having trouble getting a breath. When he looked down and noticed the struggling boy was turning blue he quickly let go.

"Sorry Kyo-Kun!"

"Yea yea." Was all Kyo said before he started to walk the direction Shigure had just come from. Shigure turned around and started to follow him. He knew Kyo wanted to walk back in silence...but him being...well himself, he couldn't allow that.

"Sooo Kyooooo, how'd you end up at Hatori's hmmm?"

"I ran into him when I was out and I didnt feel like going back right away so I went to Hatori's."

"That would have been a very convincing story if not for two things. First Hatori told me he found you transformed on the street. Second, you would never willingly go into the Sohma estate no matter how mad you were. So you can either tell me the truth. Or I can go back to Hatori's and have him explain the truth to me, in front of Akito" As Kyo heard this he looked over thinking he would see the dog smiling back at him mischievously, but he wasn't. Shigure had a dead serious look on his face that made Kyo's stomach churn. Kyo had never figured he would have to tell anyone about him and Hatori.

He thought he was being careful when he snuck out. Shigure kept staring at Kyo, willing him to tell him what was going on. He hated using Akito to threaten Kyo, he knew how much the cat hated the family head, but he needed to find out what was going on with Kyo. He only wanted to help him, not harm him in any way with the information he hoped to get.

"Kyo? Whats going on?"

“ I...I can’t tell you. If I do, then somehow it will all be ruined and I’ll go back to leading a miserable, meaningless existance.”

Shigure looked at Kyo and for the first time he could see the desperation in the cat’s eyes. He knew that whatever this secret was, it was important to Kyo to keep it as such. But Shigure wanted to help him. He wanted Kyo to know he could trust him with anything.

“Kyo, I can see this is hard for you, but I want you to know that whatever it is you can tell me and I won’t say anything. I just want to be there for you.”

Kyo had never felt so helpless in his entire life. He knew he shouldn't tell Shigure, but he wanted so much to trust him. He wanted to have someone else besides Hatori that he could confide in. He had always wanted to be closer to Shigure. He couldn’t explain it, that's just the way he felt. He knew the first step to doing this would be to tell Shigure what had been going on. Shigure waited patiently as Kyo decided what he wanted to do. Kyo looked over to Shigure and then he started to whisper into the older man's ear, explaining just what had been going on between him and Hatori.

When Kyo finished, Shigure's eyes had grown two sizes bigger. Out of everything he was expecting, this wasn't even on the list. But the moment the shock passed, he gave Kyo a small smile. The only emotion he felt at that very moment was pure happiness. Happiness that the neko finally found someone to love and that loved him back, and that Hatori had once again opened his heart to love.

I have all these great ideas in my head then when it comes to actually writing them down i just can’t find the words to convey the feelings. Bah I'm so frustrated with this! Anyways sorry bout grammatical or spelling errors. Apparently I had a lot in the other chp so sorry! But it's funny cuz the person talking about the errors had one of there own!:P J/K it's all good.
