As soon as they stepped into the inn, kate used one of the fakest voices she could and said "Hello my good man."
She even had the big grin. He looked kate over holding back a smile as he saw she still had a few noodles clinging to her.
"May we have a room for..." She looked back at Ami. "How long you staying here?" She asked dropping the voice.
"At least three days." Ami replied.
"Three days!" Kate told the manager. "It is 200 a day. Are you sure you want it?" He asked
"Positive." She said glareing at him with a grin.
"Top floor, down the hall to the left. There is a hot tub on the balcany, and the mini bar is stocked.
I'll send you up a radio, just try and keep it down this time."
"O'kay steve. You have a nice night." Kate said grabbing Ami and pulling her up the stairs.
Once in the room, kate closed the door and turned to Ami.
"Okay, what happened?" She asked with sincere concern.
"What happened? ... Nothing..." Ami fumbled a bit with the words.
"Ami! we grew up together, We know almost everything about eachother. I know you and I know when somethings wrong."
She paused hoping Ami would say something.
"I said spill it!" Kate said with a rather demanding tone.
Ami looked at the floor "I was walking about a mile from slateport when I got my plusle. I was happy That I got it,
but I used up all of my potions. Instead of going back to Slateport, I figured that I would just walk here.
I was on a hot streak. I beat quite a few good trainers on the way. That is untill...
I saw this girl, she looked easy enough to beat. I challenged her. She refused, but I kept edging her on.
I even made her a deal... if she beat me, i would give her all of my money... but she would have to do the same if i beat her.
She said I wasn't worth her time. I said she was scared... a bad thing to tell someone when they have had a bad day.
She turned and released the first and only pokemon she needed to beat me.
I didn't even scratch it. i gave her my money, then I left."
"I see. You bit off more than you could chew because you judged a person on looks."
"Yes. But it was okay. Later I met a guy who was kind enough to give me a few revives even though he couldn't spare much."
"Was his name Stan?"
"Yea, why?"
"He owes me breakfast."
With kate's remark the two burst out laughing.
