Chapter 3: Gone Fishin�
Since Yai had felt left out of the Net Battle tournament because Glide wasn�t really designed to do heavy net battling, she decided to invite her friends aboard her pink yacht, the S. S. Strawberry the Friday before classes began. When everybody but Maylu and Dex had arrived, she sent Lan to go check on them to see if they were coming or not. He explained to everyone the Dex had moved away to get a sorely needed better education, and Chisao, his brother, had taken his place in their class. Aboard the yacht, everyone chose some fishing gear, and Lan, Chaud, Chisao and Yai cast their lines over the left railings while Tory, still being in earshot, cast his over the back railing. When urged to join them over their railing, he just said he didn�t want to get his line tangled and that he�d rather stay where he was, but not to take any offense by it. Accepting their friend�s reason, the passed the time away telling jokes and stories and had planned on making the sleeping arrangements by the size of the largest fish each person caught. However, the fish weren�t biting and nobody was able to catch anything although they did see a few whales and relaxed on the deck to watch a spectacular sunset. At dinner, Yai picked names from a hat for lodgings, setting up Lan with Chaud and Tory with Chisao. Tory caught Yai on her way out and apologized for not having the courage to prevent her from being assaulted last night, but she said that she was glad he hadn�t stopped them and that she had had a wonderful time with Chaud the night before, leaving the boy to wonder how what had been so painful to him, and been so pleasurable to her, and if it was pleasurable, than why did she scream so much.
