Part Three
They’d left each other in the park after a brief kiss, but Kaidoh had wanted to stay. Or at least be invited back to inspect that futon or something. Sometimes Akutsu could be that way. Clueless.
But then too, Kaidoh wasn’t too good at giving clues. He rarely initiated anything, except that whole thing with Momoshiro and even then -
He shook his head. He wasn’t trying to think about that now. Right now...
Kaidoh looked at the shopping list.
His mother needed eggs.
****
Akutsu was being a good son for once and helping out. He was sweeping the floor. And after that, he’d have to sweep out front. Then he got to serve customers all afternoon. Why?
Because he was a good boy and he loved his mother.
Cue laughter.
He loved his mother, but the real reason was because his mother may not prevent him from leaving, but she could put his ass to work.
”Fine tough guy, you don’t work, you don’t eat.”
And so first, Akutsu had cleaned the bathroom. And wiped off the tables. Cleaned the glass at the front of the shop and even polished the handles.
He growled, wanting to break the broom in half. This was bad enough, but this just had to be the day when people came by.
“Akutsu, I want you to hurry and sweep out front. Business is picking up.”
“Hai.” he called dejectedly.
He swept the store front, but he didn’t like it. He figured maybe he’d scare people off, but know, they knew his mother and knew all her stories about what a “sweet” boy he was so it didn’t work. In they went. That just meant more work.
He finished and went to his doom. In the back he put on a white apron. With frill. And went out to get a pad and pencil.
Akutsu Jin loved his mother. He just had to keep telling himself that.

Kaidoh gave his brother a plate of food and sat down, beginning to eat himself.
“Aniki, is Akutsu coming?”
“No. Mom and Dad will be back and I’m going over there. Please don’t burn down the house.”
Hazue smiled. “Kaidoh and Akutsu sitting in the tre -.”
“Hazue.” he said, staring at him, the boy stopping.
After dinner, Kaidoh cleaned up and left, telling his brother to watch tv until their parents got back.
When he arrived, Kaidoh went inside the café, bowing to Akutsu-san. He sat at a table in the back waiting. Before he knew it, an apron was thrown at him, which h caught, and Akutsu slid in across from him.
“Kaidoh.”
“Akutsu. Were you working?”
“Yeah, but it’s past dinner time.” He stared at Kaidoh. “You open it?”
“Hai.” Kaidoh blushed a little, thinking of the kittens running around the border of the bandana. “Hai...”
Akutsu smiled. It freaked him out a little, but he supposed Kaidoh getting off on cute furry animals was alright. “Good.”
Kaidoh stared at the table and looked up at Akutsu. “So, is your room alright?”
“Yeah. Let’s go.”
The Mamushi followed him upstairs and sure enough, there was Akutsu’s bed, devoid of sheets, the mattress bare. Kaidoh hissed and saw the pillow hanging on clips near the window.
“Gomen...” he whispered, Akutsu arms coming around him.
“Hn, I heard Futons are better for your back anyway.” he let go of Kaidoh and locked his door, muttering something about his mother again before he flicked off the lights and went to turn the tv on. He sat on the futon and Kaidoh joined him, watching the tv even as Akutsu kissed his neck and pushed his shirt up.
The boy took a nipple in his mouth and sucked gently, Kaidoh sighing and letting himself be laid back.
“It won’t happen again...” Akutsu gruffed, beginning to unbutton Kaidoh’s pants.
“What?” the boy gasped, his hands going to Akutsu’s hair as the boy’s mouth went lower.
“The party.”
“Hai...” Kaidoh didn’t know what he was talking about but somehow his mind flew to his own actions. “I was just talking to him.”
Akutsu looked up then. “What?”
“Inui came to talk to me.”
“Oh. I didn’t mean that.” Jin looked at him and Kaidoh sat up a little, his shirt falling. Kaidoh gave a small shrug.
“Who else...did you talk to?”
“Oishi senpai...and Momo...briefly.”
“I hate that guy...” Akutsu righted himself and Kaidoh knew he shouldn’t have said anything. He got nervous and fixed his clothes, coming to sit at the edge of the futon with Akutsu and watched tv with him.
The whole time they were watching the drama, Akutsu would turn and look at him like he wanted to say something, but would just go back to watching. Kaidoh didn’t like this. He reachd over and tried to hold Jin’s hand to no avail. His hand was moved away and Kaidoh hissed.
This was bordering on hypocrisy. He sat a little closer and Akutsu didn’t do anything, he just seemed to watch tv harder, if that was even possible.
It was a commercial and Kaidoh moved closer, easing his hand up the back of Akutsu’s shirt, the other boy flinching.
“Quit it Kaoru.”
He stopped, kissing his shoulder and getting up. “I’ll see you tomorrow. Do you want to go someplace?”
“No.”
Kaidoh was at a loss. “Akutsu.”
The boy didn’t turn around.
It was times like these that Kaidoh wondered what would things be like if he were a little more forward. He wanted to stay here tonight, make up for last night, but now Jin was angry because he’d been talking to people while he’s been doing who knows what.
When he was with Inui, it was hard for him to just sit and not have his feelings be known. Inui knew him too well. If anything, he had to make Inui sit still for him. With Momo...well, when you’re shouting how you feel all the time, it’s a little hard not to know what the other person is thinking.
But with Akutsu...
Maybe two quiet people didn’t belong together, though Akutsu was hardly quiet once he really got started.
“I thought you were leaving?”
It brought him out of his thoughts and he realized Akutsu was staring straight at him.
“I...I am. Good night.”
“Stay tonight Kaidoh.”
He looked at him. “Why?”
“Come sit down.”
He sat down again and they looked at each other. Jin took his hand and Kaidoh didn’t want to hold hands. Jin kissed him and he didn’t want to kiss. In a few moments, they were where they were and Kaidoh whimpered as his pants were unbuttoned.
“Akutsu...why?”
The boy looked into his face then. He knew what Kaidoh meant. Why was he like this, why did he do that, why about the party, why everything.
“It’s the way I am.”
Ah, but Kaidoh knew that. And so when he was completely naked and at Akutsu’s mercy, he didn’t question for a moment about how much noise they were making or why Jin was still pretty much dressed, or why it was important to call his name when he lost it.
And after, he was a little embarrassed to have ruined Jin’s shirt, but from the way the other boy was still all over him he didn’t think it mattered. He was asleep too soon after and missed whatever Jin had to say.
He woke up and the tv was still glowing, though the sound was off. Jin was sitting up next to him, smoking. The window was open and the breeze was cool but you could feel the humidity in it, threatening more rain.
He lay there, thinking he should probably get home when he heard words and began listening.
“I drank something around a six pack...and watched those twins dance on the coffee table in the den. Taichi was all over me all night, Taka passed out on me and Sengoku kept trying to give me a lap dance because Wakato had passed out five minutes into the party. I thought about coming to get you, but you wouldn’t have liked it. Some of your friends asked where you were. Seigaku-tachi. I told them I didn’t know.”
Kaidoh sat up and Jin turned his head slightly.
“If ya haven’t noticed, I get a little jealous.”
“Hn.” Kaidoh smoothed his hands up Akutsu’s back. “I didn’t notice.”
The boy out his cigarette. “Also...I punched Momoshiro. Kept going around saying what a hot lay you were.”
Kaidoh hugged him around the neck and kissed his cheek.
“That dumb son of a bitch...fuck him.” Akutsu turned around and looked at Kaidoh. “Can’t believe you were with that punk.”
“He was with me.” Kaidoh said, kissing Akutsu’s ear. “Let’s sleep.”
And the tv went off and Kaidoh helped him get undressed, kissing the dive of hip bone when he removed his boxers, the other groaning in question.
Yes, he’d do it for him. And more when he asked a few minutes later.
They lay there, Akutsu’s arm thrown over him, occasionally moving the single point of orange light back to Akutsu (Yeah, he liked to smoke in the dark after sex) he listened again.
“There’s another party soon. Fuji’s house.”
Kaidoh turned and looked , barely seeing Akutsu in the little light that there was. “Fuji-senpai?”
“Yeah, all he has is college prep all day. You know he’s dating both Atobe and Sanada.”
Kaidoh just laid back down. Akutsu putting out the cigarette, the flames hissing before death.
“If you came with me more, you’d know this shit.”
“Hn.”
“Hn.” the Akuma answered, kissing the back of his neck.
Silence passed and Akutsu spoke up again.
“So Mamushi...”
“Fwshuuuu.”
“Come with me?”
