Chapter 3
Leon and Testu were having a staring contest and as far as any one was concerned, Testsu was winning...
Eyes watering from the incense, Leon finally blinked his eyes as the goat belated in victory.
“Again he can’t even water his eyes with out blinking...” Laughing he walked off.
“Give him a break. D is letting him stay here to make sure he doesn’t get hurt…”
T-Chan simply looked at Leon as he pushed himself off on the cane and walked towards the door for some fresh air. It really was a wonder. He was pushed off the boat and survived even being attacked from almost every direction possible, then left to human hands, and yet he still came back to find D... As if some unseen force was drawing him to D…Maybe even closer than he thinks.
“I definitely need to get out more. I’m having fucking staring contests with a goat not to mention that I’m sleeping in his room…..I…suppose this is what humans are going to boil down to after they have ruined everything else…” His eyes lost their shine for a while as he looked out the window as the people walked by, aimlessly, talking laughing, obvious of what dangers were right beside them, not showing a care in the world.
Pon-chan looked at where D was busy selling another pet to the customer that oh so wanted a blue-eyed dog, but simply could not have it any smaller than a lab. Humans will be humans she thought. But even with that said. Looking back towards Leon. With some help and or influence…..maybe humans can change….
D smiled forcefully, after having to all but bribe the lady to take the small lab home that had the only blue eyes..
He sighed as he touched his face...” You would wonder if she would really know the difference between the two…”
“Count..”
“ Yes Pon-chan?..Is something the matter?”
She looked about and sat down on the couch..” No….not really…..Why are you keeping Leon here?..”
D blinked and stared her for a few seconds before he could give her an answer that would be both correct and thought giving…
“ He …is staying here mainly because he has no place else to go and-“
“ But why don’t you just kick him out and leave like you did the last time…why are you letting him stay here?. You said-“
“I know what I said…..”
D got up and looked towards the room where Leon was looking out the window, still leaning on his cane. Why indeed.. One part of him says to throw him out the door and tell him to never come back….another says to keep him to….make him stay with him….to keep forever his company…another says kill him like he did his father…..
“So where exactly are these humongous snakes?...Egypt?..Alstraia? Candia?...”
“I know~! Maybe we can find one in a pet shop and-“
A graceful punch was delivered to Genji as the dumb response was silenced
“If the snake he is wanting is of that size, that can’t reside in those places..”
Shido again looked towards Ban, who was giving him an equally evil glare.
HEVN smiled. “This you might be glad to hear…The snake he heard of lives in the Infinity Fortress…”
“THE INFINITY FORTRESS~!?”
HEVN rubbed her ears, knowing full well that this was going to happen.
“I was surprised too, when I heard that they were. But he claims that they have been a sighting of the snakes moving and nesting there on the mid-level.”
“Oh so there is to are these humongous huge snakes slithering up in to the Infinity Fortress with NO one seeing not even a scale. And this guy assumes that they are breeding. Even the pay is fishy... I mean…there not even on the animal list of snakes. How can we tell if he’s not lying?”
HEVN reached in to her purse and pulled a sound clip of what the snakes sounded like.
“He managed to get a recording of the snakes from a distance but wasn’t able to get much closer due to all the people fighting.”
Ban gave a concerned face. Shido looked at HEVN, and then listened to the tape.
Genji, on the other hand was worried Akabane was going to join, since he had said nothing the entire time.
