“Tsuzuki, are you listening to me?” The said brunette jolted forward, amethyst eyes wide as he stared at the wrinkled face of his boss, Chief Konoe.
“Yes, sir! I heard everything that you said about--” he began but was cut off as the door to the office opened and a long, haired blond man poked his head in. “Hey, chief, we got a call from the Kyoto sector. Wakaba believes that she saw the murderer at a shop.”
Chief Konoe sighed, bringing his gaze from Tsuzuki to the blond that was at the door. He nodded.
“Alright. Thank you, Watari. I’ll have Tsuzuki get on it right away.” There was a sound of protest from the amethyst eyed man, but Konoe ignored it, hearing the door close as Watari closed the door.
“Forget about the other case. I want you on this case. I’ll send you to Kyoto and you will search for clues there.” The older man looked up, rolling his eyes as he watched the brunette stare at the wall with a dazed look on his face. Figures. Tsuzuki was in his own world. Probably thinking about sweets again. Oh, that’s right. He would have to make Tsuzuki get him some sweets from the Kyoto area.
He cleared his throat. “I want you to go right now, Tsuzuki. No dillydallying around. Understand?”
The private detective brought his gaze back to his boss, nodding his head slowly. “Okay, I’ll start heading over there in a few minutes.” He got up, stretching his arms above his head. “Is Wakaba going to be my partner for this assignment.”
Konoe shook his head. “No. I think I’m going to assign Terezuma to you.”
“WHAT?! Terezuma? Not bloody well likely, Chief! I don’t want to work with him,” the private detective complained loudly. He crossed his arms, glaring at the older man, looking like a seven year old kid instead of a grown man.
‘Stay calm. Stay calm,’ Chief Konoe chanted to himself. He sighed, glaring at the amethyst eyed man. “You’re going to work with him because we have nobody else to go with you. I’m going to send Wakaba to another city and start on a new assignment involving a yakuza leader. Now, unless you don’t want to get paid for the next three years I suggest that you get off your lazy ass and get going.”
Tsuzuki sniffled, standing up, and trudging to the door. He stopped, his hand outstretched as his boss called his name. He looked back hopeful that he wouldn’t have to work with that bastard Terezuma, but his heart sank as his eyes landed on the hand that was holding something out to him.
“While you’re there, Tsuzuki, I want you to get me some type of sweet. But do it after you get the case solved.”
The brunette nodded, taking the money, and walking down the hallway. Sigh. Now, he had to go to Kyoto and find some guy that he could care less about. Probably an amateur. How come he always got stuck in these type of cases? The man disappeared around the corner, steeling himself up for the chase that he knew that he would have once he found the murderer.
An hour later he was running down the street, trying to find someplace to hide so that he wouldn’t get drenched out. Tsuzuki had already found the man that Wakaba had been assigned to about twenty minutes ago. It was a teenager that had felt rebellious towards his parents and had decided to take it out on innocents. Well, now the brat was currently sitting in the local Kyoto jail, wishing that he was at his warm house. His partner, Terezuma, had suddenly disappeared when Tsuzuki had shown up, so he had to do the case himself. Fucking Terezuma. He was useless to Tsuzuki anyway. Hopefully he would get into trouble with Chief Konoe.
The detective darted around the corner, almost crashing into other impatient people that were trying to dry off, and spotted a small coffee café that had its neon ‘open’ sign blinking at him amidst the heavy rain. He stumbled into the shop and sat down at a booth, leaning his head back, panting.
Tsuzuki shook his head, splashing raindrops over the table. He rubbed his eyes, sighing as he heard the waitress scurry over. Damn. Too bad he didn’t have any money, besides what Chief Konoe gave him. Maybe if he used only a little for food….the chief would never know…
“Hello sir! Welcome to the Kami Coffee Shop. How may I help you?” The teenage girl smiled at him, popping her gum, and cocking her head sweetly. Tsuzuki forced a smile, and looked down at the menu. He debated on buying something, maybe a cake or ice cream! But in the end he couldn’t buy himself anything. The thought of Tatsumi, Chief Konoe’s secretary, getting mad at him was terrifying.
“Water, please…”
The girl stopped smiling immediately. She looked him up and down, making a face when she was done. She nodded, her blonde pigtails bouncing up and down with the movement as she walked away.
Tsuzuki sighed. Great, he had made enemies with a random teenager because he didn’t buy anything but water. Scary.
The amethyst-eyed man rubbed his temples, placing his elbows on the table and leaning his head against his palms. He listened to the loud chattering of the people around him, talking about anything on their minds. A smile crept onto his face as he realized how happy they were. How unsuspecting they were. It must be nice to live without knowing about all of the murderers and rapists on the loose. Now most of them were locked away thanks to him and the other detectives.
A squeal from a nearby table got his attention. There was a large number of teenagers crowded around a table, talking loudly. He raised an eyebrow as he watched a blond haired teenager stomp through the group, face red for some reason.
His heart stopped beating in his chest as his eyes met those of the boy’s beautiful emerald ones. The boy was absolutely breathtaking as he tried to escape the other teenagers. A beautiful, red blush was painted across pale, smooth cheeks as the boy walked past his table quickly.
The blond was stopped as a taller, long haired blond stepped in his way, trapping him. The taller blond grabbed the smaller one, causing Tsuzuki to frown as the emerald eyed boy was pulled to the other male’s chest. Tsuzuki stood, eyes locked on the shorter blond as those beautiful emerald eyes looked up at the other male, frightened and not knowing what to do.
Obviously the boy didn’t like what the other blond was doing. The detective walked over to the group, smiling at the younger teens who looked at him boredly, before looking back at the two boys. Okay, guess these people didn’t care whoever walked up to them. Perfect targets for a murderer or a rapist. ‘ I will have to talk to them about that…’ Tsuzuki thought to himself, before bringing the two blonds back into his vision.
Hisoka was getting quite agitated now. The dumb blond wasn’t going to let him go any time soon and it really pissed him off. Plus his ass still hurt. And Taki wasn’t helping anything by rubbing his ass through his jeans slowly, trying to get him aroused. Ugh.
“Hey, I really need to get going…” Hisoka said quietly, hoping that Taki would let him go. No luck. Again. Taki tightened his grip, throwing himself onto a chair, and pulling Hisoka into his lap.
Hisoka tensed, eyes widening as he felt the other male’s hand slowly creep up his thigh, massaging him gently. A tremble coursed through his body as his eyes went blank and he grew limp. He didn’t know what to do, and whenever he went limp Muraki wouldn’t hurt him as much. So he thought that that theory would help him in this situation also.
“Hey! What’s wrong with him, Taki? He suddenly went limp.”
Taki ignored the person that had said something, busy with licking the delicate neck before him. He had never seen a male with such pale, smooth skin before and it excited him.
His eyes closed as his hand cupped the smaller male through his jeans, his breath picking up slightly. Suddenly, his hand was ripped away and his eyes flashed open to meet furious amethyst ones. Dread filled his body as Taki found he couldn’t move, captivated by the piercing eyes that were locked onto his.
“I believe the boy said that he had to get going. Please release him,” the man ordered, letting go of Taki’s wrist but continued to stare at him, unblinkingly. A large majority of the group that had been gathered around the table protested, but quieted down when Tsuzuki looked at them, his eyes holding no warmth.
“I want you kids to go do something good with your life. Try catching a murderer or something,” Tsuzuki ordered, watching as the teenagers glared at him, but dispersed going in their separate directions, intimidated by the fierceness in the brunette’s voice and face.
Tsuzuki turned back to Taki, blinking as Hisoka was pushed into his arms and the taller male heading toward the door after his friends. He stared confused as the rest of the teenagers left and he was stuck with the limp blond.
Looking down, he sighed, and picked up Hisoka, carrying him to the table. He had acted without thinking. When Taki had begun touching Hisoka he had lost it completely. No body deserved to be touch like that.
“Hey, kid, snap out of it.” He snapped his fingers in front of the younger male’s face, brightening up as the life slowly came back into the beautiful, emerald eyes.
Hisoka jolted backward, eyes wide and confused as he stared at Tsuzuki. The blond blinked a few times, his brain working quickly to alert the boy that the teenagers were gone.
“What happened..?” he asked Tsuzuki, looking up at him, getting a wary look on his face. Tsuzuki sat back against the booth seat, ignoring the suspicious look that the blond was giving him as he sipped his water that had arrived at his table while he was at the group.
“I don’t know what happened earlier, but that teenager was touching you in ways that I suspected you didn’t like,” Tsuzuki told the male across from him, making eye contact with wary emerald eyes. “And I scared him away for you.”
Hisoka stared at the brunette, feeling confused and suspicious that Tsuzuki had helped him. ‘He must want a favor in return,’ Hisoka thought to himself, glancing at his tea that was across the room. He got up, hearing the older male shift slightly in the seat, and walked over and picked up the glass. He came back over and sunk into the cushy seat, not looking up.
“Thank you for helping me. As payment I’ll let you use my body any way you want,” he whispered, not looking up from his tea cup. Tsuzuki choked on his water, pulling back and coughing.
“W-what?” He was shocked. This boy thought that he wanted to use his body?
“No, I don’t want to do anything like that. A simple thank you is fine,” he coughed out, still trying to breath.
Hisoka looked up slowly, confusion seeping across his face, but he quickly hid it. If the man didn’t want to use him then that was fine. He didn’t want his body hurting any longer than it already was.
“By the way, kid, what’s your name?” Hisoka looked puzzled at being asked his name but responded.
“Hisoka. Kurosaki Hisoka.” He lifted his cup up and took a sip. “Awww. How cute!” Tsuzuki stated, smiling at the blond, happiness filling him as he forgot about the blond asking him to use his body.
“I’m Tsuzuki Asato. I’m glad that I met you, Hisoka! You seem like a nice person.” Hisoka watched the brunette amazed that a grown man could have so much energy. He shrugged, looking away, a blush creeping to his cheeks.
“It’s no big deal,” he murmured, looking out the window at the rain. He froze as he watched a long, black car slid up the curb and a man get out. The man entered the café, swinging his long hair back over his shoulder. Panic filled him as his shields slipped slightly and the surrounding people’s emotions hit him. Hard.
With a cry, Hisoka flinched away, grasping onto his head, eyes clenching shut. Tsuzuki sat up straighter in the seat, worry shown across his face.
“Hisoka? What is the matter?” he asked worriedly, getting up and crouching beside the blond. Hisoka shook his head, gasping, looking up, watching as Muraki’s co-worker was led to another booth and sat down. What was Oriya Mibu doing at a small café shop on a rainy day when he had his own restaurant to worry about.
His heart beat increased as the man looked up, making eye contact with him. A smile lit upon the Oriya’s face as he recognized the blond, who was clearly not where he supposed to be.
The blond tried to stand up, but collapsed as the emotions of the people attacked him again. All the blond knew at the moment was that he had to get away.
He clutched onto the bewildered Tsuzuki’s shirt, looking up at him pleadingly. “Please…help me…Get me to the bathroom,” he whispered, praying that the brunette would help without asking any questions.
