Epilogue
Hiro looked up from his guitar as the door opened and shut quietly, admitting Suguru. “You’re almost late.”
Suguru raised an eyebrow. “Almost, Hiro-san, being the key word, I believe?”
The guitarist bit back a laugh. “Why so defensive? I would understand perfectly well if it was a little difficult to tear yourself away from the boyfriend… why, Ayaka-chan and I—“
“Please, Hiroshi-san, could we get to work?” Suguru interrupted, his face showing the faintest tinge of pink. “I know Shuichi-san isn’t here yet, but perhaps we could go over one of the new arrangements?”
Almost as if he’d announced him, Shuichi was shoved through the door by a cheerful K. He bounced in, happily waving to both of his band mates; Hiro smiled and Suguru nodded. Hiro cocked his head slightly as he once again watched Shuichi’s eyes linger on their band mate; Shuichi had told him what had happened, but it had been weeks after and everything had been worked out.
Now, Suguru refused to answer any inquiries into his personal life, direct or covert—indeed, it had taken a slip of his tongue to reveal to the other he had a boyfriend—which had, of course, been a shock to all of them. But he was softer to them all; no longer took every question or playful taunt as interference or dislike. The biggest change had been with Shuichi, however.
Hiro didn’t know whether Shuichi realized he’d changed; after all, it was only towards Suguru. But the keyboardist saw it, and hardly seemed to mind the extra attention. Their relationship was no longer sexual, more a brotherly affection and protectiveness. Shuichi worried and fussed over him—but also bossed him around ‘for his own good’. Hiro and Sakano, even K occasionally would smile when Shuichi would launch into a rant about Suguru being ‘too young’ for something. The keyboardist would raise his eyebrows pointedly at the singer, who would drop it as he blushed and complained about being ignored.
Sakano remained clueless about the cause of the embarrassment, but Hiro thought K knew…or at least suspected. Suguru, himself, found it as entertaining as the guitarist did, but they carefully ignored that Hiro knew and Suguru knew he knew. The sixteen year old—almost seventeen—didn’t seem to ever openly acknowledge his acceptance into Shuichi and partly even Yuki’s ‘family’, but it was hardly a secret. Shuichi would proclaim loudly—on days when his lover was being difficult—that Suguru should go see him to help him get over it, whatever it was, since he liked the quiet keyboardist better for that sort of thing.
All in all, Hiro thought that their arrangement, however strangely it had come about, worked surprisingly well. Shuichi liked to hassle over people, and the keyboardist let him when Yuki would not. Yuki…Yuki, got a distraction for his hyper-active lover and a quieter boy to keep him company when it was needed. Suguru—well, Suguru got life lessons, in the form of ‘what not to do in a working relationship’, and maybe, just maybe had learned that he needed people too and sometimes it was alright to be fretted over.

Well, what do you think? I'm particularly hoping the person I wrote it for likes it...
Not much to say, except that inspiration for this last chapter literally bit me on the ass just after I finished "Mischievous" for Alimentazione, so...yeah, four thirty AM and I wrote it out. Unfortunately, that means no updates in Rainbow Dreams for tonight, cause I haveta sleep. Anyway, hope you all enjoyed! Leave a review?
