Chapter 3
Before he knew it, Zero had pulled him into a kiss. Chaste and hesitant, unsure of his reaction. Kaname let it stay that way for a brief moment, making sure Zero wouldn’t pull away. When it didn’t happen, Kaname slid a tentative hand to the other’s waist. Then, like a dam breaking, the kiss became passionate. Kaname pulled Zero tight against him, lips endlessly moving. Their mouths were pressed together so hard, there was soon the taste of copper, sweetening their kiss. Both boys alike were growing hard, their throbbing members straining against their restraints.
Kaname broke the kiss first, wanting to explore as much of Zero as he could. He nipped playfully at his partner’s neck, watching for a reaction, but he did not stop with just his lips. He explored Zero’s body with his hands, sliding up his chest.
Zero, sensing that the man in front of him was searching for his sweet spot, grabbed fistfuls of hair and led him to the cavity under his ear lobe. Kaname nipped and it was too much for Zero, he let a low moan escape.
Frustrated by the restrictions of the shirt, Kaname ripped it off of his partner, allowing free roam over his upper body. He returned his lips to Zero’s, wanting to taste his blood once more. Kaname let out a moan as Zero rubbed the tight part of his pants
“Kaname, you little liar!” yelled Aido. “You said that you wouldn’t drink blood just like the rest of us!” he walked around the corner, expecting to see Kaname feeding. Instead, he saw his dorm president and master sharing a passionate kiss with the shirtless class “E”. He gasped
Both Zero and Kaname froze, lips crimson with shared blood. Kaname forced his gaze away from the beautiful creature before him to face Aido. “Aido,” he whispered, just loud enough to be heard.
“Y . . . yes, sir?” he asked as he tried to regain his wits.
“You shall tell no one of this, understood?” Kaname asked, eyes glowing garnet with contentment and passion. He pulled Zero against his chest to protect him from the cool night air. “Is that understood?”
“Yes, sir. I will tell no one of what I saw here this night,” he bowed, turned, and left.
Kaname took a deep breath and asked, “Where were we?”
Zero just smiled in reply.
*~*~*
They had kissed in the garden until it was to cold for either of them, even with the heat of their passion. After being forced to retire to Kaname’s rooms, they talked. They talked for hours, about anything that came up. Yet the one thing Kaname was dying to know, why now, why not earlier, never came up. Hard as he tried to steer the conversation towards the subject, Zero always turned it away.
He got so frustrated, he just asked, “Why tonight?”
Zero looked at him, confused. “What do you mean?”
“Why tonight? Why not before? Obviously these feelings didn’t just pop up.”
Zero looked at the floor, blushing. “Well, I kinda heard you and Yuki talking earlier. As for why not before, I could ask you the same question, you know.”
“You’re right,” Kaname laughed, “I guess that means we’re both chicken shit, doesn’t it?”
Zero laughed quietly in return, “Yeah, I guess it does.” Zero looked up and met Kaname’s eyes. A few decisions were made in that look.
*~*~*
The first was that Zero was to move into the Moon dorms. He had expected outrage or at least disappointment from Yuki. Instead he got excitement from her. It went like this:
It was the morning after Kaname had met him in the garden. Yuki and Zero were in the kitchen, having breakfast.
“Yuki,” he started after putting his glass in the sink.
“Hm?” she answered around a mouthful of omelet.
“What would you say if I moved to the Moon dorms?”
Her head snapped up from her plate. “Oh my god! Really?!”
All he could do was nod his head for he had lost his voice somewhere between him asking and her answering.
Yuki practically flew off her chair to hug Zero. Well, more like a tackle, but she was just a teensy bit overenthusiastic. “That’s wonderful! So that’s where you were last night? It must have gone well, or you wouldn’t be moving, right? Do you need help to pack? Which dorm do you get?” she paused, for a breath and a realization. Her face fell. “Are you going to need me anymore?”
Zero watched as her face went from excitement to anxiety, and waited for her to be done. Since all the answers to the questions were obvious except the last one, he only answered that one. “Of course I’ll need you Yuki. Maybe not for blood anymore, but as a friend. I’ll always need a friend,” his voice saturated with sincerity.
*~*~*
The second was that a door would be added between Kaname’s rooms and Zero’s new ones. It was Kaname who handled that one. Chairman Cross was suspicious when he asked, but agreed all the same.
*~*~*
The last thing was the transfer itself. Both Zero and Kaname went to see the chairman for that one. They needed the moral support and just incase they needed to gang up on him.
They walked into the office and stood behind the two chairs.
“Please, have a seat.”
“Thank you,” they answered, in unison.
“Now, what did you boys want?”
Zero answered, “I would like to transfer to the Night Class.”
Taken aback and confused, the chairman asked, “Why the change of heart when before you were so opposed to the mere idea?”
Zero glanced in Kaname’s direction and hoped the chairman didn’t catch it. “Some . . . things have happened since we last talked about it.”
The chairman had indeed caught the oh so quick glance and smirked to himself, but decided to keep it to himself. “Alright, Zero, I’ll start on the paper work right away. I trust that you already have your dorm set up?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Then get out of here! Go celebrate!”
Zero laughed, knowing full well that you couldn’t get anything past his second father. “Thank you, Chairman,” he said over his shoulder as they walked out.
“HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU TO CALL ME DAD?!” came through the door after them.
