Author's Note: Blah... I didn't even change the last author's note. I'm such a lame-brain sometimes. Anyway, I hope that my little fic has been good so far. Any and all constructive criticism is welcome. Also, if it's not too much trouble, please rate and review.
Oh, My Darling Gil
~Chapter 3
Three weeks had passed from the time of his liaison with Laam in the bathroom, and every morning Gil had felt increasingly sick and nauseas. He couldn't even begin to possibly fathom why. But he didn't think too much of it. Instead, he was rather grateful for it. His master had avoided touching him since he'd gotten sick. Though he hadn't gotten a chance to get out and see Laam again since then. This made him feel slightly sad.
When the illness continued for nearly a month, Shydeman did become concerned enough to send him to the doctor. Gil obeyed and went in as he was told. The doctor seemed to know what he was doing as he thoroughly examined the half-breed. Perhaps more for his own pleasure than for the sake of diagnosing his patient. However, what he did find managed to astound him and he was unsure of how to tell Master Shydeman the results. This scared the kitty. What could be wrong with him? Was his illness dangerous or life threatening? Well, his questions were about to be answered.
“What's wrong with him?”, Shydeman snapped, looking at the doctor expectantly.
“Well, Master... I”m not entirely sure how it happened but...”
“Tell me. Right now.”
“... He's pregnant.”
Gil nearly fell off of the examination table. He was... with child...? Well, that would explain his morning sickness perfectly. But how in Dusis had it happened? Then another more pressing thought struck him. Who was the father...? Shydeman, heaven forbid... or Laam? Oh, how he desperately wished that the latter were true. There was, however, no real way of knowing until it was born. If it was allowed to be born at all. Shydeman had not yet voiced his own thoughts on the matter.
“How interesting. It was probably the work of that Renkin Wizard. Ah well, it's made the cat somewhat more useful. Bearing the child of such a strong demon. He should be honored.”, Shydeman said, obviously still under the impression that it was his and no other's. He smirked down at Gil and then led him back to his chambers, where he left the half-breed alone. Gil could only wonder why he had left and what he was doing.
It wasn't long before he found that out as well. Within a few hours, the kitty found himself outside the door that led into Lord Nadil's chambers. A shudder passed through his frail form. So Shydeman had just been informing the Demon Lord of all that was said within the doctor's office. But that still didn't really explain why he had been ordered to go and see Nadil, unless Nadil had ordered it himself. Gil slowly opened the door and stepped inside.
The Demon Lord of Dusis was seated comfortably in a large, ornate chair. He smiled, or perhaps smirked, as the kitty entered and shut the door behind him. Gil was clearly uneasy and Nadil liked him that way. It made it all the more fun. After a few moments, he motioned for the half-breed to sit down on the floor in front of his chair. Gil obeyed and sat down before the Demon Lord, keeping his eye shifted downward.
“I must say... I'm sure no one expected you to be pregnant, since you're clearly male. But it doesn't seem to be an unwelcome pregnancy. Well, at least that's Shydeman's view on the matter. Then again... I'm quite sure that he doesn't know about your little love affair with the demon, Laamgarnas.”, Nadil commented softly.
This quickly caught Gil's attention. He looked up at the Lord in utter surprise and slight fear. “But... how did you know about it...?”, he asked before he could stop himself.
“My dear boy, I know everything that happens within this castle of mine. However, I've allowed you two to continue your love undisturbed. I've seen what Shydeman does to you... I pity you. So allowing you to have one secret lover is really no big deal. Just be careful. You know that it might end badly if you're discovered. Now tell me. Who do you believe is the father?”
“I... don't know really... I had sex with both of them that day. It could be either one...”
“But you're really hoping that it's Laam's, right?”
Gil nodded.
“Well, it doesn't really matter who the father is. Either way, once that child is old enough, it'll be raised to fight against our enemies. Don't get too attached to it.”
“But Master... Please, don't make it suffer through that kind of life... Please...”, the kitty pleaded.
“Silence. I will do as I please. Now return to Shydeman, and be a good little pet.”
Gil slowly stood up and exited the chamber, feeling extremely sick. He had to lean against the wall in order to walk. There was just no way he could allow this child to become a servant of war. It didn't matter if it was Shydeman's or Laam's. The child absolutely did not deserve that. As he walking, he failed to notice that someone else was near him. Then he bumped into them, and a gentle pair of arms wrapped around him.
“Gil, are you all right?”, Laamgarnas asked, concerned.
“Laam... I'm pregnant...”, Gil replied, clinging to him.
“... What?”
It took a bit of time to explain all that had gone on that morning. In the end, Gil was still clinging to Laam, shaking and whimpering. Laam did his best to try and comfort that kitten, holding him and petting his hair gently. The outcast had taken it all very well, and was completely calm while trying to think of what to do next.
“Gil... We've got to get out of here. Let's run away.”
“But... what about Shydeman and Nadil...?”
“We'll leave now, without letting them catch us in the act.”
“... All right...”
