Prelude to resisting marimo
Nami snapped back into what she was doing as the sounds of a scuffle outside.
“You better hurry…” came the swordsmans voice through the door. “The damn owner just went to alert the town guard.”
“Apparently there is some kind of quarantine for the infected…” Usopp voice added.
“DAMMIT, why didn’t you stop him?” Nami hollered back as she tossed Sanji a short summer weight silk dress with a light creamy white and what he would consider a ripe apricot swirl pattern
Zoro grunted noncommittally.
“He said he needed to..uh..get some air all things considered.” Usopps voice came again.
“I thought he said he was going to jack-of..mmmph!” Luffy this time.
“SHHH…idiot! Sanji will hear you…we don’t want to make this more uncomfortable for him…er her.” Came the long noses harsh whisper…still loud enough to be caught by the dressing room occupants, though.
“Why do I need to be quarantined??!!” Sanji tried not to shriek in panic, momentarily blocking out the possibilities of what the guys had been doing in the store while he had been getting thoroughly introduced to his new sensitive body. No… while disturbing his health took precedence.
“Oi cook…don’t get your panties in a bunch.”
At the words Sanji felt suddenly exposed standing there in the bra and panties, as if the damn swordsman had x-ray vision and unconsciously tried to cover himself with his hands before realizing he was holding the dress Nami had tossed him in his hand. He pulled it over his head as the swordsman continued.
“Too many women worried about cheating husbands made the rules.”
“Oh.” Came the relieved sigh.
“From what I’m experiencing it might have been to prevent the wives from cheating too.” Robin added quietly.
“Chopper is chasing after him but we still have to hurry.” Usopp added.
Nami opened the door to the dressing room as Sanji was sliding his hands down the dress, trying to flatten the wrinkles and get a sense of it’s ending an inch above his knee. When he looked up and saw his three male crewmates staring at him he felt a little like an animal being targeted.
“Is that really Sanji?” Luffy asked breaking the silence.
“Yeah…it is hard to believe.” Zoro offered as he sighed and looked toward the door.
“It’s like…he’s always been a girl.” The sniper added in a near non-believing whisper.
“WHAT…!?”
“Cook-san, what you were doing just now was such a naturally feminine thing to do.”
Before he could express his horror at being told such a thing Nami was shoving him out of the dressing room.
“Okay…here’s what we’re going to do. We head back to the ship, with any luck Chopper would have stopped the shop keeper and anyone he may have told. If we run into trouble we split up, each girl with a guy…Robin and I will be decoys.” She stopped and considered. The person Sanji would be least likely to get along with would probably be best. “Zoro, you take care of Sanji. Robin and Usopp. Luffy and me.”
“I don’t need ANYONE, let alone this asshole to take care of me…”
“Like I’d want to be watching out for your scrawny ass.”
“Exactly why it’s the best decision.” Nami answered as she began stuffing things into her bag.
“Nice thinking!” Usopp snapped his fingers in understanding. Luffy nodded in agreement.
Zoro had the cooks clothes in his hand and Sanji guessed Nami-swan had a point.
“What about shoes?”
Nami held up a tiny set of three inch heels.
“Pass.” Sanji quipped as he considered how hilariously inaccurate he’d be kicking an opponent off balance teetering in heels.
And with that and no other shoe option available the mugiwaras left the store with a firm plan that they immediately needed to employ as Chopper was running straight toward them with a huge crowd behind him.
