Pairing Stories


The following are little ideas for stories of the senshi in couples. Just fodder to get me started on the stories really. The action may not be between the two characters listed in all cases, they are simply the stars of the show.


Moon/Usagi
with Mercury/Ami

with Mars/Rei
(Trying to think up my own story for this wonderful pairing, but quite frankly, I don't think I'll do any better than this: http://shackledsenshi.com/zirk/nightmare.htm I love how Bill K manages to show the perfect traits and connection between the senshi. In this piece, you can see the psychological dynamic that played all through the cannon of the show (magnified of course) but in such a subtle and plausible way. So yeah, I want to do something like that.)
with Jupiter/Makoto
Makoto accidentally hurts Ami a little and gets down on herself, feeling that maybe all she's good for is fighting. Even her talent for cooking involves quick, precise, forceful motions. Usagi, stopping by to take advantage of Mako's culinary prowess, soon finds out what's troubling her and helps her see that there is a gentleness within the warrior. (Note: Possible sequel to Ami & Mako Pairing).
with Venus/Minako
Usagi and Minako are so alike in some ways and so different in others and while they could almost pass for twins, they find they envy each other's lives more and more. Sharing a mischievous spirit, the "twins" decide to switch places, Usagi going out on patrol as the idolized heroine Sailor V, and Mina taking a night out as the destine princess with security, a simple family, and devoted future husband (not taking too much advantage). Still, in the end, neither is happy with their little switch and they realize that their admiration of the other has more to do with their affection for each other and less to do with the circumstances of each other's life. (Note 1: naturally their respective feline guardians would realize the switch pretty quick, but they'd independently come to the conclusion that it's best to let the girls have their fun this once, knowing they wouldn't be satisfied with the result.) (Note 2: The sex would likely come in the beginning, something playful hinting that it's not their first time, probably in the shower, and it's when they both get out and look in the mirror that they see themselves together with matching wet hair and the idea forms.)
with Saturn/Hotaru
Usagi consoles Hotaru the day after Chibi-Usa leaves for her home in the future, inviting her over and spending a day with her. At some point the similarity is too much and Usagi indulges her friend, not knowing what else to do. (Note: The story might end with a true romance blossoming, but it's always more likely with my Hotaru fics that they will turn out bittersweet.)

(Again, I have a story in my mind that is just so perfect it eclipses my own ideas: http://www.worldshaking.net/curves.htm I am so in love with that fic, but I do wish Haruka and Usagi had needed to go a bit further to get their tension out of their system. So cute, though!)
with Neptune/Michiru
Michiru is looking ahead to Crystal Tokyo and wonders what the role of the Outers will be. She casually gets Usagi alone for a lunch out and discusses her concerns, eventually confessing her insecurity that the Outers, herself included, are all too damaged to become the icons the senshi should stand for. In response, Usagi brings Michiru home and introduces her to her own family for the first time and, in an almost uncharacteristically mature moment, tells her despairing ally that while the Inners will be heroes to all, they will be forced to grow more distant from humanity as they become idealistic. It will fall on the Outer's lap to be role models and representations of humanity in the royal palace as they are a true family. Usagi confides that she wants Michiru to lead that family as she always has and that she looks up to her in that respect. Michiru, in a rare moment of frailty and insecurity, is wooed by the words, seeing what Haruka has fallen in love with in her Princess, and they share a brief, gentle night together, at the end of which, Usagi explains that she's given Michiru the gift of being able to have children with Haruka via magic, to expand their family further. (Note: as a possible humorous addition a few lines after the normal ending, Michiru might call Usagi and interrogate her that if Usagi had needed to make love with her for her magical bond with Haruka to be established, then how did she establish the bond with Haruka? Usagi would of course comically flee the inquisition, back to her childish self, and leaving the reader to decide if that meant that Usagi never needed to seduce Michiru or if maybe Haruka and she had already had their own fling)

Opposites attract. After a while of mild flirting and failed relationships on both sides, Rei and Ami finally come together to balance each other out. Even so, the tension within the senshi may be too much for the unexpected couple. (Note 1: This may be an alternate path for some of my stories. The various Ami/Makoto and Rei/Minako stories will have plenty of tensions which I fully intend for the couples to overcome. Still, I'd like this to be an alternative sequel to those stories, showing that even if things didn't work out the first time, there is hope. There is no destiny for any of the senshi but the princess, so their strength can lead them to anything.) (Note 2: I'm personally attached to all my story ideas, but this one even more than most. It reminds me of someone very special to me, so in this instance, the characters and their personalities may be slightly skewed towards those of actual people I've known. For this reason, I would like to write this one myself, rather than offer it to anyone to complete, with the exception of if the person it's about finds it and wishes to write it or help on it instead.)

This is a pretty common pairing and for good reason. Makoto helps Ami can offer each other a great deal of strength the other is lacking in somewhat. In my ideal set-up, both are struggling with inner doubt. Ami finds her goals of medical school in conflict with her senshi duties and her friends are unintentionally being unsupportive. Makoto is struggling with her sexuality, both in her attraction to women, but also her interest in things she considers abnormal, leaving her to wonder if it all comes from her internal desires or is some kind of trauma from her unusual occupation. Ami going to the person she sees as the strongest and most dutiful of her friends and Makoto going to the smartest of the senshi, they confide in each other and together find the strength to accept and pursue both their desires. Ami is surprised at how readily Makoto tells her that she needs to pursue her aspirations (as all the other senshi have their own balancing point that reminds them of their humanity and Ami's is her studies in pursuit of helping others. Likewise, Makoto gets a little shock herself when Ami expresses an understanding of her various curiosities and even an interest in them. Naturally, at some point, Ami will ask Makoto who she's attracted to, and Makoto will admit to trying to squelch any feelings for her friends and comrades, but that the blunette has captivated her from the start and things move on from there, with an interesting dynamic of Ami being mentally dominant, but Makoto being physically dominant (again, Bill K did a wonderful job of implying the ideal dynamic between them). (Note: This pairing is very popular, but rather than make it trite, I think that gives it a real opportunity to be a solid foundation for other stories and I can see three seperate story lines emerging from it so that the reader may choose their favored path: one where the pair become romantically involved for the long term, one where they try dating but it doesn't quite work out, and one where they enjoy a short-term romance, but mostly just explore each other more as friends with benefits.)
