Disclaimer:
This is a work of fiction. I don't own pokemon. Don't sue me. I'm not making money here. The character Angel is mine. Thank you.
Dig a Little
Something Witty: I can appreciate the talking thing – but, I can\'t see why. I usually do label the speech, and when it isn\'t labelled, it\'s either in pattern, or one on one. I can\'t say as I will add more said\'s or whatnot, because then it gets repetitive and resembles a child\'s novel. I can try to be more clear though.
Mizuru: Because I said so. :P

Angel felt herself thrust behind herself, the explosion setting a solid twist in her figure from the angle it struck. Her shoulder made a gruff thunk on the ground, followed by a crack, and a sharp pain. She cried out as mass panic set in to the city. Once she caught her breath a few minutes later, through the constant pain now in her shoulder, the arm dangling motionless at her side as she fought to stand up, she called out. “GARY?!” Angel curled her arm against her stomach, as if it were in a sling. “GARY!?” she called out again, her voice lost in the mass screaming. Gary, whom was just across the street from the Gym, found rather quickly upon sitting up, that his back stung as he moved. That blast had thrown him a large distance, and onto his rear end. He was at the door of the radio tower, was now backed against the fence near the water. Had he strained something? Angel – she was farther away, by a good deal, but was she hurt? Gary struggled to his feet as people ran this way and that; to their loved ones, away from town, towards the underground – mass hysteria had settled in.
“ANGEL!?” he cried out, limping his way towards the underground\'s south entrance. “ANGEL!?” he called, knowing his voice was lost in the panic. He sighed, making his pained way towards the entrance he last saw her at. His lower back felt like someone had struck with a 40 pound sledge – but no ammount of pain would keep him from finding her. “ANGEL?!” he called out, uselessly. Even if she were five feet away, his voice would be lost in the crowd, in the screaming.
“...ary??!?” crossed his ears. It was faint, but he was sure.
“ANGEL?!” he called, his eyes dancing about quickly, searching for her. “ANGEL!?”
“Gary!” she exclaimed, shoving her way through the panicked knot of people scattering about. There he was, limping and pale, but alive. It seemed the only thing left in not so good a state was the Gym. She threw her good arm around him, burying her nose into his neck with a whimper. “Gary. Thank God. What the hell was that? What happened?”
“I dunno babe, but the Gym is gone. Something blew it up.”
“The gym leader, the trainers...Gary, we don\'t have time to figure this out, there might be people still alive in there!”
“How to you plan to get in there? There\'s people running everywhere in panic! That entire area is a big flaming crater!”
“We have to try. I\'ll send Slaugher, I\'ll -” she spoke, but was cut off by the loudest screaming siren she\'d ever heard. She blinked, and glanced upwards. The army base 20 miles off shore had scrambled their fleet, fighter jets and heli\'s were everywhere, scanning the skies for more threats.
“Air raid siren...” Gary volunteered, his eyes tinting with fear. “It wasn\'t just some random thing...We\'re being attacked by terrorists, or something...”
Then, cutting through the siren, through the screaming, through everything, was the hiss of a megaphone. It\'s screech caught everyone\'s attention, and all eyes flipped to the source – radio tower.
“YOUR ATTENTION! ATTENTION!” Angel flicked her confused orbs up towards the building, and focused in on three very familliar looking men. She gasped, and dashed off – leaving poor Gary wondering what was going on. “IT WILL BE ALRIGHT!” the brunette called out. “WE HAVE SENT TROOPS IN WITH WATER POKEMON TO DOUCE THE FLAMES, AND FIRE POKEMON TO RESCUE SURVIVORS!” he spoke, his magnified voice calling out over everything. Angel dashed inside radio tower, not missing a beat. Up the stairs she ran, hand over Amelio\'s pokeball. Those executives would tell her where Giovanni was, even if she had to be nasty. Back outside, Gary stood there, like everyone else, staring at the trio on top of radio tower. “IT WILL BE OVER SHORTLY LADIES AND GENTS, GO FIND YOUR LOVED ONES, GO TO THE POKEMON CENTER, GET ON – WE HAVE THIS HANDLED.” Angel used the lovely speech time to clear her way up to the top floor. It hadn\'t taken her long to spot the hatch leading to the roof, and up the ladder she went, slower this time as she was down the use of her arm. “THE TROOPS ARE FIGHTING THE BLAZE, IT WILL BE OKAY! WE TEAM ROCKET WILL SAVE YOU ALL!”
“You bastard, you aren\'t saving anyone! You\'re creating mass panic!” Angel barked, white knuckling on the pokeball. The trio turned and looked, the brunette glaring. He lowered the megaphone, and sneered at her.
“You! What are you doing here? YOU\'RE supposed to be DEAD! What did that useless cockney do? He was supposed to KILL you!”
“Well he didn\'t, and you\'re not going to, either. You\'re going to tell me exactly where the boss is, that\'s an order!” The brunette laughed.
“Did you hear that boys? The new rocket baby gave us an ORDER!” he laughed, tilting his head to one side. Suddenly, he stopped laughing, and returned to his sneer. “I don\'t take orders from little SLUTS! You think you have so much weight because of a badge? There\'s more to being Admins than simply barking out orders, wench! You don\'t even hold authority over me even if you DID hold any weight! We\'re not telling you ANYTHING!”
“Yes you are, and I will kill you to get it, you asshole. I know exactly what you\'re planning on, and you\'re not going to twist Team Rocket to do it! You\'re not going to succed! I\'m going to stop you, and rescue Giovanni.”
“HA! You hearing this little bitch, boys? She thinks she\'s going to stop us.”
“Brian, why not just tell her? Its not like it\'ll make much difference. She won\'t get him free. Might be fun to watch her try.” the Blonde spoke up, quietly.
“Shut up, Joe! That\'s exactly the kind of attitude that gets things all fucked up!”
“But look at where we stuck him, Brian. He\'s not getting free any time soon. Or in one piece. I say take her straight to him – let her find her way out with him.” The brunette piped up, crossing his arms over his chest.
“You twits, SHUT UP! We\'re sticking to plan on this, and there\'s no way she\'ll find him! Sorry we can\'t be of more help, bitch – but, our ride out is here.” he smirked, just as a rope ladder dropped in from seemingly nowhere. Her eyes flicked up to a hovering black helicopter. That was the split second they needed, because as she glanced back down at them, Brian was on the ladder and being carried away.
“Hey!” Alex, the black haired one, cried out. “Don\'t leave us here!”
“Sorry boys, you know the chopper can\'t have all three of us at once! My ass is the most important, I\'m the brains here! Hope you live, see you at the base!” he cackled, as the helicopter flew away. Angel sneered, and ran as close to the edge of the building as she dared.
“YOU WON\'T GET AWAY WITH THIS! I\'LL HUNT YOU DOWN AND YOU\'LL TELL ME!” she cried out, as if he could hear her. Then, whirling around, she then went to bark at the other two. “As for YOU idiots...” she started, but they were gone. Long gone. They\'d even closed that damn hatch on her.
“FUCK!” she screamed, turning back towards the edge. “Go, Anarchy! Help me down.” she commanded, setting lose the large bird. He picked her up in his hind paw, and swooped over to Gary, who\'d seen the entire tyrade on the building – like everyone else. He placed her carefully down, then was recalled without a whimper.
“What the hell was all that about?”
“Those morons were the Executives that stupid receptionist was trying to protect, the very ones that kidnapped me, that tried to get me killed, that kidnapped you know who! They\'re the ones that did this, I\'ll bet you!”
“Whoa whoa. I get the rest of it, but why would they blow up a gym?” Gary frowned, tilting his head.
“Because she\'s a GYM LEADER, Gary! Haven\'t you noticed anything about that article Elm threw at our feet? All the Johto leaders are gone. Now they\'re starting on Kanto. Guess who\'s going to get the blame, again? Guess who will be easilly recognized because of the media? And now that everyone thinks Team Rocket SAVED everyone from terrorist attacks...” she replied.
“That\'s how they\'re doing it....They\'re kidnapping the gym leaders for leverage, and they\'re making the public think they\'re heroes. Giovanni would never let them blow up a gym for their own glory. This is big, we need to go talk with Elm, Angel. He might have better insight into this.”
