Imaginary 3

Imaginary
Chapter 3: Imaginary
Characters: Rei and Minako
Warnings: Sad, once more, some sexual bits if you squint
AN: Another one. Yes! I’m sorry that it’s taken so long to get this out, really I am but I’ve been unbelievably busy with my other writings amongst other things. I do hope you enjoy this and keep the look out for other things. ^_^

Rei sat in Mamoru’s car, hurting because she was stupid enough to have hurt Usagi in such a way by taking Minakos side. She glared at Minako as she smiled sweetly at Mamoru. She quickly turned her glare to Mamoru before turning to stare out the window.

“So, Rei-chan, do you want to come with us and celebrate or do you want to go home to celebrate alone?” Minako asked, turning around in her seat. “Makoto and Setsuna are also coming over.” Rei looked at her, turning from the window, her eyes sparkling in anger as she glared at the blond.

“I don’t want to celebrate,” she hissed, anger seeping into her words. “Usagi is dead! She’s gone! Our future is completely fucked!” Anger seeps into her blood, making it boil as she continued to yell at Minako. “What do you have to say to that you whore? I’m not allowed near Usagis house now, much less her funeral! And it was because I was stupid enough to let an old crush cloud my judgment. I lost my best friend,” she finished, tears running down her face.

Minako and Mamoru sat there, starting at her with shocked expressions. She opened the door as Mamoru stopped at a stop light, ignoring the beeps and the calls from the two in the car. Stepping onto the curb, she turned towards Usagis home just as the sky let loose the rain it had been threatening all day.

She could hear Minako yelling for her, but ignored her as she started to run faster. She noticed the little corner store that Usagi and her used to stop by on the way towards the blonds home and slipped in side. Soaking wet, she reached into her purse for some change, heading towards the payphones. Picking up the handle, she dropped her change into it and then punched in the well known numbers.

"Moshi, moshi, Tsukino residence," Kenji's voice said over the line, making Rei bite her bottom lip.

"Tsukino-san? It's Rei. Listen I really need to talk to you. I really do. I understand if you don't ever want to see me again, but I need to say some things I should have said earlier," she said in a rush. Silence greeted her. She chewed her lip as she waited for a reply.

"Alright. Come on over. We'll hear you out, and then make our decision," he replied finally. She let out a breath she hadn't know she had been holding.

“Thank you,” she sighed into the phone, a dial tone all that greeted her. Putting the phone back onto the cradle, she leant her head against the phone and sighed. Standing back up, she stood up straight and headed out into the rain once more, heading towards Usagis home. She started to run, trying to get out of the rain faster. Cutting through a park, she came to a stop under a tree, looking out onto the street she knew so well.

She smiled as she remembered the first time Usagi had shown her and the others the short cut. They had thought she was lost but she had shown them that she knew right where they were by stepping out and smirking a sweet smirk.

She continued down the street, passing various homes towads the one she wanted. Walking up to the door of the Tsukino House she lifted her fist, paused before then knocking on the door. She heard footsteps a few minutes after flesh meet wood and braced herself for the cold looks.

****Minako****

Standing by her door, she ignored the honking horns that blared behind her and the rain that drenched her cloths, watching as Rei disappeared down the street. Closing the back door, she turned back around and slid into the car again, closing her own. Taking a towel that Mamoru had pulled out from under the seat, she dried her hair, watching the road and sights around them pass by.

She looked to Mamoru as he drove past the intersection and turned left half a block after that. Continuing to watch him, she ignored the fact that he pulled into his parking spot in the garage of his apartment building.

"Mamoru? Was what Rei said true? Am I a whore?" she blurted out, eyes wide. He turned dark eyes to her and smiled comfortingly.

“No, you’re no whore,” he replied, making her smile. “Now, let’s go on up and celebrate that we won’t have to worry about the idiot any more. Remember, very soon the crystal will go to the one she chooses to continue on the moon lineage,” he continued, his eyes sparking with a smirk. “More then likely it will be Ami and she will be very easy to remove or we can always get her to bend to our wills,” he finished, opening the car door and stepping out.

Getting out with him, Minako followed after the Earth prince to the elevator, kissing him as the doors closed behind them. Keeping up the kiss as the elevator moved to Mamorus floor, the two touched and petted. As soon as the elevator arrived, they walked down the hall way and stumble in, finding themselves reluctant to break their kiss. Closing the door, they headed for the couch, falling onto it and continuing their fun.

Three hours later they finally finished, the two laying on the bed, panting. Sitting up, Minako slipped out of bed and padded out into the living room to find her purse as Mamoru reached for his letter from Usagi. Walking back into the bedroom, Minako smiled at Mamoru as he placed the letter back into its envelope, tossing it into the bedside table drawer. Turning back, Mamoru smiled back and relaxed back onto the bed.

"Are you going to read yours?" he asked his lover. Minako nodded and crawled back into bed with a smirk.

"I will, but later," she said as she moved her hand down over the others chest, heading down towards the part she wanted the most.

*****Rei*****

She sat uncomfortably in a chair, holding onto a tea cup tightly. Glancing up at the Tsukinos and then looking back down, she sighed and tried to figure out what she wanted to say first.

“First of all, I am really sorry about your loss. I don’t know how you feel, but I really feel horrible, almost as if a little piece of my heart just shriveled up and died,” she said softly, looking up at them. She could see that they were opening up a little bit and couldn’t help but hope for the possibility of fixing her mistake. Sighing, she continued on with what she felt she needed to say.

"Second off, I was an idiot and I am not afraid to admit it, to anyone. I…don’t know if you could forgive me, ever, for allowing an old crush cloud my judgment and thinking. I regret what I said and did to Usagi. I had hoped to say this to Usagi herself, but since she isn’t here, I wanted to say it to you. As you know we are the Sailor Scouts and Usagi was our princess and leader,” she said, rolling the cup between her hands before taking a deep breath and continuing. “I just found out that Minako, Mamoru, Makoto and Trista were hoping that she would...well, let’s say that they got their wish. I had no idea that was what they were planning. If I had, I wouldn't have joined them, instead I would have tried to stop them. I just thought that they wanted to push her into studying harder, doing things better. I had no idea that she would kill herself.

"I wanted her to be able to get whatever she wanted and have nothing in her way and I thought that her grades would hold her back. She was my best friend, my princess and my sister. I hate the fact that she didn't feel like she could talk to me, or anyone else for that matter," she finished as she reached for her purse. Kenji looked at her, and then reached for a tissue. Reaching over to her, he gently wiped the tears that she hadn’t even noticed from her cheeks, Rei giving him a watery smile as she pulled her letter from Usagi from her purse.

"I was kinda hoping to read my letter with you guys," she said finally, holding the white envelope up.

"Of course, we would be happy if you shared that with us," Ikuko said, reaching out to take Reis cup and grab one of her hands. She tugged the smaller female over to the couch and sat her between her and Kenji. "Now, I hope you know that we won't automatically trust you, don't you?" she asked her, smiling as Rei smiled and nodded.

"I know, but I’m glad to have the time to gain that trust. I also wanted to tell you guys that I have some stuff of hers. I figured you guys would like to have it all. I also wonder if I can…come to her funeral?" Rei asked. They smiled at her and hugged her in return.

"Yes, we would love for you to come to her funeral,” Kenji replied, smiling softly at Rei before looking at his wife. Turning back to the smaller girl, he continued. “We would also like you to do the eulogy seeing as how you were one of her closest friend."

"Well, I know this one story that would be the best one for us to remember her by," she replied slowly, smiling at them slowly.

"Why don't you tell us before you read the letter?" Ikuko asked, smiling in return.

"Well, it was during the time when the Heart stealers were running around, hurting people. Usagis crystal wasn't working properly and there was a cat like woman after a little girl who was taking care of the cats in an abandoned building..."

Back to Minako...

Flopping back onto the pillow as Mamour rolled onto his back, Minako smiled as she stared at the ceiling, knowing that the other girls would be arriving soon. Slipping out of bed, she gave Mamrou a quick kiss on his lips before grabbing her purse and heading towards the bathroom. Starting her bath water, she sat down on the edge of the tub and pulled out the letter from Usagi.

Flipping it open, she started to read….

*****Rei*****
"...and then we took cat tail weeds and tickled her. Of course I'm going to skip over the whole Sailor scout thing, and talk about the way she saved cats from having to go back out on the streets," she finished, laughing wit hIkuko and Kenji. She held the letter up and sighed quietly. "How about we open this letter and see what it says?" she asked. They nodded, watching as Rei opened the letter...

With Minako...

Dearest Minako,

You know what I have to say, or at least part of it at least.

To start, I knew about you and Mamoru. I knew the moment you two started to sleep together. I suppose that is why you felt the need to push me away, thinking I wouldn’t be hurt when he finally broke it off with me and came out dating you. At least that's what you thought. Mamoru thought something entirely different..

I can’t say I blame you really for being blinded the way you were. I can’t forgive you quite yet though for the betrayal. And I can’t agree to what you guys are planning to do to my successor.

I want you to know that once she becomes the holder of the crystal those who were and still loyal to me will get Transformation upgrades to super sensei. You…will not be one of them due to your betrayal and part of this plan.

Yes, you will still be princess and future queen of Venus but only will be considered an ally, not a friend of the Moon Kingdom.

I am sorry to have to do things this way.

One last word of advise. Look for the real Mamoru and stop believing the imaginary one. Your views on your relationship, your life as it is and the truths you so believe in are all fake. Look past that.

I hope you can move past this and find what you are looking for. Maybe one day I’ll be able to fully forgive you.

Now, all you have to is forgive yourself.

Sincerely,

Princess Serenity of the Moon Kingdom,

A.K.A

Usagi

Putting the letter back into the envelope, Minako then slipped the letter into her purse. Reaching over, she flipped off the water before slipping into the hot water. Drawing her knees up, she cried as Mamoru started to play ‘Imaginary’ in the back ground.

*****Rei******

Dearest Rei,

I know that you are right now with my parents, reading this together, trying to rebuild the trust that you lost.

I want you to know that no matter what happened, I still love you and consider you a sister. I hope that you and my family can become close to each other, to have that trust that you need to continue on in your life. Treat my brother like your own please?

Onto more serious topics, I want you to know that I do forgive you for what you did. You were blinded by something that you had thought was a crush at one time and wanted me to be the best I could, even though you did it in the wrong way.

I know, this is short, but this isn’t going to be very long no matter how much I try to write. I just want you to remember our favorite song and our bond. All you have to do to see me again is ‘go to the field of paper flowers, where there are candy clouds of lullaby. Where you can lie inside of you, and we’ll watch the purple sky fly above us.’

Remember, we’ll always be together.

Mom, dad, this part is for you since I didn’t place it into your letter. Love her like a daughter please? Her own mother died when she was young and her father is never there for her. All she has is her grandfather now.

One more thing. Ami is your new queen so protect her against those who would hurt her.

Your loving sister,

Usagi

Putting the letter down on the coffee table before them, Rei turned to Ikuko, being drawn into soothing arms and cried softly into her shoulder.

"Don't worry baby, I’m here for you," Ikuko told her, feeling Rei start to cry harder.

"We're both here for you like your father isn't. I promise you, you are our daughter now. Granted you can't take Usagis’ place, but you were always a part of this family," Kenji said. Rei nodded into the older womans shoulder, sniffling softly..

"Guys, I feel horrid! I was such a bitch to her and I never got to apologize!" Rei nearly wailed, sniffling some more.

"Now, now sweety, don't you worry about that. She forgave you already," Ikuko replied, feeling Rei nod and sit back slightly. Hearing ‘Imaginary’ drift down, she smiled sadly and grabbed several tissues. “We used to sing to this song all the time. It was our way of remembering our bond that we have, even in death.”

“Sing for us the part that she talked about?” Kenji asked, getting a nod from the dark haired girl.

"In my field of paper flowers, and candy clouds of lullaby, I lie inside my self for hours, and watch my purple sky fly over me," she sang softly, sweeping her hair back out of her face as the song continued without her, feeling better already. She knew that Usagi would want her to move on and she would, but would always carry the sadness. "I need some paper to start the eulogy," she said finally, sitting up in her seat. The funeral was the next day after all and she had a eulogy to write before then.
