Chap 3 Loyalty and Farewell
Luffy flew at Morgan his speed crushing any chance at defense. Luffy's fists flew and he pummeled Morgan hard. He beat Morgan so bad he was knocked unconscious no doubt he would have numerous broken bones and wouldn't be moving any time soon.
When done with his assault on Morgan Luffy turned to the remaining men. "This man is a criminal." He pointed to one of the men. "Take him into custody he is no longer a captain of marines." The men took Morgan into custody. Luffy used a transponder snail to alert the base to send a transport ship. "Luffy-san you were amazing!" Koby said running up to him.
"Thanks I'm sure you will become a great marine Koby I can see you have a lot of spirit." Luffy said with a half smile. Luffy walked away from the boy and Zoro followed.
"You saved my life you know." Zoro said but Luffy didn't respond."I'd be dead if it wasn't for you."
"You shouldn't have been in that situation in the first place." Luffy said and gripped the marine jacket."Koby wants to be a marine, it's his dream, I may not be like Morgan but I'm a man who wants the freedom of the sea."
"He's a good kid he'll follow the right path." Zoro said and approached him.
"I want to be King of the Pirates to find the one piece." Luffy said and turned to Zoro. "That is my dream."
"Then you should follow it." Zoro said standing arms length from Luffy. "I owe you my life, I almost lost the chance to follow my dream, maybe you saved yours to." Zoro got down on one knee and took Luffy's hand and kissed it. "I want to be the world greatest swordsman I can be infamous or heroic pirate or marine but I plan to follow you captain."
Luffy couldn't help but smile and he threw off his marine coat. "I'm gonna be king of the pirates I'll need the world's greatest swordsman by my side."
Luffy and Zoro returned to the base. "Koby listen to me when the ship arrives to retrieve Morgan get on it and find Garp. Tell him you want to be a great marine and that you want to be trained." He gave Koby a letter of recommendation with his signature attached.
"Luffy-san what's going on?" Koby asked confused. "I'm following my dream Koby and you should follow yours. Become a great marine." Luffy said a true smile on his face
"He's becoming a pirate." Zoro said and Koby gasped. "But Luffy-san if you become a pirate we may become enemies."
"It will all work out. Koby become a find marine, one great enough to catch the future king of the pirates." Luffy left with those words and Koby couldn't stop the tears from falling. He wished Luffy luck with his dream. Marine or Pirate Luffy was a man you could respect and Koby found the urge to surpass him and become a worthy man to catch him.
Luffy stole one of the boats full of supplies from the marines. "Hey captain! Tell Garp Monkey D Luffy is becoming a pirate!" Luffy shouted to the current man in charge. The man began to sweat bullets. 'Shit the marine turning pirate and I have to tell Garp the hero I'm so dead.'
Luffy sailed the stolen marine ship with Zoro. "So captain what's the heading?" Zoro asked and Luffy laughed. "No clue." Zoro anime fell. "Let's go find us a navigator and I think I know the perfect one."
"Hehe I got saved by an idiot." Zoro said with a chuckle and Luffy pouted. "Hey I saved your butt, you got yourself locked up and nearly executed and you didn't do anything wrong baka!"
The two glared at each other before laughing. Zoro asked about Luffy's straw hat and Luffy shared his past with Shanks. Zoro felt a little bubble of jealousy the way Luffy talked about the red haired man. "Enough talk let's have some eats I'm starving." Zoro said and Luffy chuckled and he followed Zoro and the two ate together.
The two drank and ate and eventually passed out together. Zoro woke up sometime in the middle of the night and Luffy was curled around him his head resting on Zoro's firm chest. Zoro felt the strong urge to protect, and another urge one not so innocent flow through him.
He tilted Luffy's chin up and he leaned down and kissed the lips of his sleeping captain. Luffy groaned in his sleep and began to kiss back. Zoro broke the kiss out of fear he might wake him up Luffy groaned in his sleep but cuddled back up to Zoro. 'I need to be careful I could lose myself to a guy like him.' He brushed a few strands of hair away from Luffy's face. 'Maybe I already lost myself to you.' He leaned down and kissed his forehead.
The marine ship landed on an island where a girl in orange hair was having trouble. She was hiding from Buggy's pirates when she saw the marine ship land she thought she was saved.
