Howdy, everyone!! At last I could finish the third chapter of this crazed story!

That was just in case you couldn't tell the difference. But anyway, there are Pokemon that can use Telepathy, so when they talk or think, I'll omit the brackets.

Chapter 3: Re-igniting an Old Spark.

The battle raged on. Several smaller Mightyenas advanced fiercely into Maxima´s position, but they would encounter heavy resistance

—Alright, Maxima! Use Sludge Wave and send them packing!!

Maxima extended his arms wide and the ground beneath him turned purple, then it formed waves of the same colour that knocked most of the hyenas away. Some of them had violet static around them, signaling they were poisoned

—(Maybe a move with a Same-Type-Attack-Bonus would have been better. Still, Muddy Water and Earthquake would be not enough to make them faint) — That were Nathan’s thoughts — (Let´s keep poisoning them into submission…)

Right away, a second wave of slightly larger Mightyenas pounced into Maxima, but he stepped back just in time, and sent them flying with an Hydro Pump

—Here they come, my friend! Use Sludge Wave again!!

Same move, same results. More poisoned Mightyenas in front, but no one seemed to give in

—[(They’re tougher than I expected)] — Thought Maxima with a smile — [(This is gonna be fun)]

Both Nathan and his trusty Swampert kept the Mightyenas on check for a while long enough for Claire o bring her mother and her Pokémon to help

—[We’ll assist, young Swampert] — Said the elderly Ampharos and soon she was striking some Mightyenas with a Discharge attack.

—Cool! We have a chance now! — Said Nathan, totally relieved

The strategy of Nathan was the following: Maxima would keep poisoning them whilst the Ampharos would paralyze the ones that resisted the poison. Anyone that dared to attack the flanks would be assaulted by Marill and Golduck.

After ten minutes or so, the predators started to give up. Their leader, beaten up and poisoned, snarled in its language, saying “We’ll be back!”. Maxima just shouted “JUST BRING IT, MOTHERFUCKER!! (A/N: Censoring would just be useless)” in response.

—It seems we won! — Claire said, relieved — We’re safe for today

—Yeah. Those pesky Mightyenas are a pain in the arse for sure!! — Nathan added

But Maxima wasn’t so secure of their victory. He was feeling uneasy…

—[(Hmmm… there’s something I missed… the countless Mightyena we saw fleeing. They were slightly fewer in number than those who attacked… maybe…)]

His suspicion would prove right, when, somehow, three Mightyena jumped from behind Claire’s mother.

Luckily, Maxima could feel them in time. As they were about to bite her, Maxima stood behind her and used Protect, knocking the wild dogs away

—[(Wha…? That was too close!!)] — The Ampharos thought, right before Maxima pushed her aside and advanced towards the aggressors

—[You damned scoundrels!! You’re not eating mutton today!!] — The Swampert screamed furiously, and used a wide Hydro Pump to send two of them flying.

The remaining animal started to tremble in fear, seeing itself without the numerical advantage of being in a pack

—[Right, in numbers you’re so fierce, but alone you’re such a cunt!!] — The Swampert advanced towards the lone dog and then used Fire Punch on its chin — [DISAPPEAR!!]

The Mightyena howled in pain while it was sent flying, a la Team Rocket (A/N: You know… Jessie, James and Meowth before the Unova saga). Maxima looked around one last time to be sure there would be no more ambushes

—[That were the last ones, my lady] — The mudfish’s tone changed from his typical coarse grunting to a friendlier and more polite voice when he was talking to the older Pokémon — [You can sleep in tranquility tonight]

Later that night, they discussed about where the guests would sleep. And so, they decided to make Nathan sleep at Claire’s room and Maxima would sleep in the barn, over a lot of straw.
