Chapter 3: (R)Evolution

When she moved away at considerable distance stopped. She looked around and without seeing anyone adjusted a little bit clothes. Also itching slowly began to fade.
"I guess it's time to go," she looked up at the sky pondering if she have time to go back to the mansion before dawn. Then approached her short man.
"Oh it's you. Don't scare me like that," she said little nervous.
"Wasn't my intention to scare you. We must return as soon as possible. Elvira will be very pleased that your hunt went good," said with a low voice and looked waiting when Lilica start move. When she began he just started moving quietly and silently followed her as if he would be her shadow.

'What's happening to me?' Edo-Karen was trying to find a logical explanation. From fifteen minutes or maybe two hours earlier still returning memories of meeting monster that brutally almost ripped apart man in front of her and then turned into her double. Then other her did something to her that she lost consciousness. Or said something about sucking her dry.
"Sucked dry?" looked at her hands and a little frightened. Were slightly stained with blood. Was it her own or a stranger didn't know. Generally she didn't even know where she was. Slowly she walked ahead not feeling well and in fact even quite badly. Barely shuffled feeling strength was leaving her but had to come to some of the cities that she knew.
"So hungry," she muttered when felt growling in her stomach. She sat on the side of the road thinking what to do next. It passed maybe twenty or more minutes when she heard someone approaching. Slightly terrified hid in the nearby bushes when on the road appeared a small cart pulled by a pair of horses. For a moment it stopped being just a few meters away from her and the driver looked around slowly. Instinctively she crouched down more, trying not to betray her presence so after a while the man tugged the reins and the horses started moving again.
"Phew," she sighed and began to slowly loosen up when she felt someone's hands grip her from behind, one of which had covered her mouth so that she couldn't let out any shout when she felt strange sleepy and fell asleep pretty quickly.
"Good job," said the coachman some minutes later when his companion put Karen on the cart. Briefly looked at the girl when the other got on cart.
"Do you think she can be any use for us?" asked him other man when he slowly was tying hands and feet of lying girl. Then he put a gag on her mouth and made sure that she won't suffocate accidentally and put her aside.
"If she won't be too hard to went thru 'training' we can earn some money by selling her in Bosco," he replied while hustling a little horses. Answered him companion hushed laughter.
'What happened?' she thought when she started to wake up. Trying to move a little felt her legs and hands were tied. She began to listen only to hear the rhythmic sound of rotating wheels and the occasional neighing of horses.
'You are bound which is obvious,' replied a voice that seemed to resound in her head.
'Bound?' involuntary repeated still motionless.
'I could free you but I can't do it without your cooperation,' said the voice again.
'Who are you?' she asked still not noticing that the two people who were close to her betrayed signs of hearing any voice.
'You ask weird questions,' voice was clearly disappointed. 'Especially after the offer of help.'
'I don't even know you,' she said still unsure as to the intentions of her interlocutor.
'Just you release me for a moment. I'll take care of the rest for you,' voice seemed to tempt her. 'Their soon notice that you woke up. Then we lose moment when we still have the advantage.'
"I think she moved," said one of the men on what other one stopped cart and turned.
"Finaly. Already thought that you used too powerful spell and she'll slept the whole way."
'You see. They know you're awake. It's not too late for you to let me do the work,' the voice began to show signs of impatience. One of the men pulled out a small knife and grabbing Karen sat waving it in front of her eyes.
"You'll be a good girl if you not want to inadvertently been cut a bit?" he asked slowly moving tip of blade across her cheek. She didn't answer, feeling paralyzing fear though not as strong like before when she met... other her.
'You still can set me free. Think before it is too late. You know you want it, right? Show those two, that you're not weak and helpless victim?' tempt her voice.
'I don't wanna' still tried to resist the whispers.
"Do you understand at all what I'm saying? Or are you mute?" holding the knife man seemed impatient and a little harder pressed it to her face so she felt a cold metal.
'Do you really want to die here? Do you want survive? They don't seem to have good intentions towards you,' the voice restless was whispering to her. It seemed so much alike her own voice. Why suddenly she began to hear a voice and could she believe it?
"Seems that she's mute," said the driver. "And we could get a lot more if she could talk."
"No, she can talk and I'll make it to prove my point," his companion with a slightly demonic look on his face said and pressed harder held knife, so that the blade cut piece of skin on her cheek.
'Can you feel it? It's your blood. They are not friendly and they just want to hurt you,' the voice with unceasing determination spoke to Karen.
'Blood... I'm starting to feel so strange...' green-haired girl she started to slowly shut her eyelids.
"Come on, show that you're not mute," he noticed as she started to turn a blind eye lids. "Don't try to pretend also that you fainting here." He slid the knife and when his end pulled away from her face, putting it stained with her blood next to him and grabbed her clothes. Blood from a cut cheek slowly started to run down her face and neck and started seep slowly into her clothes.
'He hurt you, hurt US. Will you let him treat YOU such way? Just a moment and I'll fix it. One short moment is all I just need to do everything.'
"A moment... Just a short moment... " green-haired girl whispered with barely audible voice before her eyelids closed for a moment. Upon hearing this he slightly raised eyebrow.
"So you can speak," he said almost triumphantly and looked toward his companion. "As I said that she can speak. Now we just only mend her wound and will be worth much more than if it was really mute."
Slowly she opened her eyes again and fixed her gaze on the man holding her.
"What now?" he asked seeing for a moment some kind of flash in her brown irises, which seemed now so cold and ruthless. Previously seemed so full of fear and terror and were now so completely altered. Also seemed to him that with a barely audible voice she said something.
"What you were saying? You know that the property can't have their opinions," he said and hit her in the face with a large force so she fall down on cart.
"I said that Karen is temporarily unavailable. But instead I'm...." when she uttered the last word taut her muscles and almost effortlessly tore her ties.
"What did you do bitch?" managed to say before she struck him with great force in the torso literally dropping out of the cart. Shadows around her body started to move as their would be alive and from one started to grow shadow tentacle.
"What is happ... " driver didn't finish when the tentacle casually grabbed him by the leg and threw out. During this time, Karen wiped the blood from his cheek and then licked the blood from her fingers. Shadows started to gather around her sticking and surrounding her partly taking on the shape of a ghostly shell. Tentacle which threw coachmen now seemed to take place of shadowy tail when out of the shadows covering her back started to grow a few pairs of translucent tentacles.
"Scums like you don't have the rights to speak," she said after jumping of cart and landing on the first of the men. Although once again he swung his fist trying to hit her one of the tentacles wrapped around that arm and slowly started to bend it in the opposite direction.
"What are you?" asked, still trying to maintain the illusion of control and reach for the knife hidden in the leg. Not answered slowly leaning over him and her lips slightly parted, in which he could see a much elongated canines. Without warning, plunged them into his neck and she started to drink the blood flowing from the wound. Although he felt the pain of the bite to his surprise, he felt a quite considerable euphoria.
"Leave my brother monster," the second of the brothers after he recover from been thrown out of the car, threw himself at her with bare fists. Basically was hitting blindly at her back but she didn't show signs that she felt it. Only one or two tentacles wrapped around his legs and pulled making lost his balance.
"You in such hurry?" she asked when stopped drink up from her current victim. A few tentacles wrapped itself around his body and lifted it so he was now in front of her. Quickly moved edge of her hand over his neck finding the right place and then sank fangs into him. This time he felt both pain and euphoria when she drank from him. The wound on her cheek healed a long time ago and now every sip made her slowly regaining full strength.
'Enough,' somewhere in the back of her head echoed faintest voice.
Just released from grip man got up slowly and saw how green-haired woman surrounded by shadows held in her embrace his brother, he looked around looking for anything.
"You freak," shouted throwing two largest stones he found next to himself. The two hit the back of her head causing broking of fangs and when she turn away from the man left tips of fangs in his neck. Also shadowy tentacles that held him started to deepen grip on him causing he screamed in pain. Holding him nor loosening the grip she turned around glancing in the direction of the other men, when broken off fangs pieces grew back.
'I saying enough,' the voice repeated a little louder.
"You was talking to me?" slightly raised an eyebrow when even more tighten tentacles around held man only to make him groan again. She looked to the side and slightly smiling quite loosened grip.
"Yes," assessed the situation with using corner of my eye. Does he somehow manage to pass by her and run to the car or not. For now she seemed to stand still and basically again lean over his brother. 'Opportunity.'
'Stop it,' green-haired woman 's eyes narrowed slightly when the voice again became a little louder.
He didn't care why she suddenly stopped for a moment to move and even stand still. He used the moment to pounce towards the car and jump on him.
"Get away from him," threatened while leaning head out over the edge of the car while looking for a weapon on it floor.
"Or what?" she looked in his direction and shadows around them began to move again if they had a mind of its own. "You don't seem so confident as when you had her so completely helpless in front of you. You're starting to acting like an animal herded into a corner."
'Leave them,' voice rang louder in her ears.
"None of your business," he snapped when found knife dropped earlier. She didn't move seeming to struggle with something so with quick leap he was on the other side of the cart. He looked toward the lying man who slowly raising up. Girl seemed to disappear somewhere so slowly looking around walked to him.
'It suppose to be just a moment,' Karen shook her head again when the voice rang in her head.
'No. You want as much as I do for them to pay for what their done to you.'
'I don't wanna this...'
"How're you?" whispered the man crouching next to sitting still other man looking around from time to time.
"I'm just a little roughed up," he said pulling out pieces of teeth from his neck. Over the neck ran down two small streaks of blood. "What happened to her?"
"She must still be somewhere in the vicinity, " said looking into a strange moving around shadows. For a moment it seemed that he saw a vague shape between them.
"Missed me?" came a voice from behind them when around each wrapped a pair of tentacles. Shadows dancing around them stopped and began to concentrate in one place, where she began to emerge from them.
"Again I have to punish you," giggled slowly looking at one and then the other. However, paused for a moment and her eyes for a moment lost their predatory and ruthless expression.
'They're no longer a threat to me.'
'Are you sure?' Karen clutched her head as if she fought with herself involuntary tightening tentacles grip on their victims.
"First... you," she said in a voice that showed signs of fatigue and pulled one of them closer so that she could easily knock fangs into him. Again he felt a mixture of pain and ecstasy when she was slowly drianing him of blood.
'I told you enough,' voice rang in her head and Karen closed her eyes yet not even pausing for a moment to drink nutritional red substance. After a long moment she opened them again she terrified eyes of fear. Immediately move back face and looked horrified at the two men who were immobilized by some shadowy tentacles.
'No,' she turned and started running blindly ahead. Deprived of her will support tentacles have become again normal shadows freeing both men.
'What happened to me?' Karen stopped far from the site and crouched terrified under one of the trees. Rubbing his chin noticed that they were on it blood residues. She was feeling incredibly well, saturated, strong however it caused her terror. The two men... before briefly losing consciousness and then when she regained it...
"What happened to me?" looked at her hands. However quickly noticed that she had difficulty breathing. Reaching into her dress slightly loosened it.
'I hate you' sound echo in her head.' Really but I can't do much for the time being.'
'Is... is this your doing?' her question was left unanswered. Slowly she got up and went ahead again with no idea where to go. Go anyhow without stopping, as long as it will make her not to think about what happened on that cart earlier. Karen life was so simple and yet last hour completely rolled them upside down.
"You looking like a lost soul," she heard a low deep voice. Stopping looked around but didn't see anyone. Recognizing that she must misheard it just moved on.
"Your soul clad the shadows and not only them," the voice said again.
"I didn't hear you," shook her head and quickened the pace. 'This is another delusion. Soon all this will be over and turn to be just dream or something similar.'
"You can't escape the destiny that awaits you," the voice seemed to come out from the above. However, when for a moment she looked up didn't see anyone except maybe something resembling a giant shadow hovering over her.
"If you do nothing shadows devour you completely. Moment ago you given up to your own shadow and saw where it led when you regained control," once again the voice said.
"It didn't happen. You also don't exist," she mumbled trying not to constantly look above. Then before her appeared a shadowy shape. When she approached hit it if there was a material object. Slightly frightened when saw a pair of giant eyes staring straight at her from the shadows.
"You're not young but I still see potential in you. This one-time offer. Come with me or let your shadow devour you form inside one day, so that will be no more you just only her," the voice came from a giant shadowy shape before her.
"Who are you?" asked with still uncertainty in her voice.
"Come and you will learn everything," from masses towards her reached a huge paw ended with claws.
For a long moment she hesitated. A couple of hours ago she would just run away screaming and yelling loudly but now.... now she hesitate. In the end she touched his hand and then shadow began to change in the giant reptile with wings.
"Come on my child. Lot of work ahead us but time is running out," he said when he spread his wings.

A/N: I know I know no deaths this chapter cuz cuz...Edo-Karen isn't someone who can kill with cold blood...not yet as she got now kinda troublesome parter or rather her dark side that can literaly appear outside ^^ on bright side we had some little tentacle fun (just little but expect more later ^^)
A/N v2: Next time will be some bloodsheed I promise beside if Karen alone could kill few people what if you add another blood hungry cursed lass :P
