CHAPTER THREE
Mia has leukemia.

Several hours later and Ryo still couldn’t wrap his head around it. He had spoken long on the phone with the Ancient One. His initial reaction had been to jump on the earliest flight out of the city. However, the Ancient One had assured him that Mia was doing as well as could be right now.
“She’s asked that I not call for you to come…unless she’s hospitalized. We’re not sure if the warlords know where we or you are. The three of us together would present an even bigger target. No. You stay. And I’ll call.”
That had been hard for Ryo. Samson hadn’t left his side since he had hung up the phone. It was fortunate that Tom had come home early that afternoon. Ryo had told him his sister was very sick. Like Ryo, Tom had immediately offered to pack a bag and drive him to wherever he needed to go.
“No. It’s not quite that severe yet. My…father wants me to stay safe,” Ryo had told him.
He did, however, have a request for Tom.
“Make love to me?”
Unable to resist his lover’s request, Tom had closed Samson out of the bedroom and taken a good long time showering his lover’s body with affection.
Ryo woke up to the blinking light of Tom’s alarm. There was a light scratching at the door and a low whining. Ryo lifted his head from Tom’s chest and extracted his limbs from his lover. He carefully and quietly rolled out of the bed. He located a pair of sleep pants and slipped them on.
Ryo opened the door quietly and quietly shushed Samson. Grabbing up the dog’s collar and leash, Ryo ran him outside real quick before bringing him in to feed. With the dog now appeased, Ryo glanced up at a clock and saw that it was only a little after five.
That would explain why it’s still dark out, Ryo thought.
He crept back into Tom’s bedroom and closed the door behind him. He stripped his pants off and climbed into bed. Feeling a little playful, Ryo stretched out on top of his lover. He could tell by the small smile on the other man’s face that he wasn’t asleep; that and a certain appendage poking him in the stomach.
Ryo started placing several light kisses over the smooth, hairless chest in front of him. When he came across a nipple, he lapped it a few times before closing his mouth over it. Two hands came up to run through his hair. He sucked on the little nub, earning him a low groan from his lover.
“Hmm. Gods, how is your mouth always so hot, Saw?” Tom moaned.
Ryo had a theory about that. But it wasn’t one he could share with his mortal lover who knew nothing about his real life. Deciding to stop playing coy, Ryo shifted up and moved forward. He lifted and lowered his body carefully so the tip of his lover’s penis was rubbing at his entrance.
Tom opened his eyes and placed his hands on his lover’s hips. Pre-cum dripped down his shaft, allowing Ryo to smoothly impale himself in one quick movement. Both Tom and Ryo groaned out loud.
Ryo shook from atop his lover, trying to adjust again to the size of his lover. Tom ran firm, soothing hands over his hips, thighs, buttocks, and lower back. Tom shuddered as he gave a small buck, bouncing Ryo in his lap. Ryo let out a short cry when the head struck his prostate.

“Don’t want me to leave, love?” he teased.
Ryo shook his head and, in retaliation for the answering chuckle, clenched around the softened member. Tom laid his head down with a groan.
“You’re such a tease, Sawyer. If you’re not careful, I may just have to take you to paradise again.”
Ryo chuckled as he wrapped his legs around Tom’s back.
“Would that be such a bad thing?” Ryo said with a little smirk.

Sage was coming back from the kitchen when he spotted a light under one of the doors. Curious, Sage walked over and pushed the door open. There was a large computer set-up which a familiar blue-haired warlord was sitting at.
Rowen didn’t startle or miss a keystroke when a pair of arms came around his neck and a chin rested on his head.
“Shouldn’t you be sleeping?” Rowen asked.
Sage chuckled while hugging his best friend’s head to his chest.
“Shouldn’t you?” Sage countered.
Rowen chuckled. It ended in a small groan as Sage eased off him and rubbed his shoulders.
“You’re always so tense, Ro. Is that lover of yours not giving you proper care?” Sage teased.
Rowen motioned over his shoulder and Sage followed its direction. In the large bed in the corner a familiar brunette was sleeping deeply. Sage smirked.
“You wore the poor man out?” Snort. “Should it be any surprise? You always were so full of energy. Our regular night owl.”
Rowen shook his head as he opened a document on the screen and brought it up.
“Does this look familiar to you?”
Sage turned his gaze back around to the screen. It was a very familiar image. His hands stilled on the tense shoulders, despite the low groan of protest.
“That’s it. That’s the white armor Ryo summoned. I wouldn’t forget that. It took forever to heal those burns,” Sage murmured.
Rowen jerked his shoulders up in irritation and smiled when his best friend got the hint. He let his head slump forward when the thumbs dug hard into his shoulder blades. Rowen released an annoyed sound when a pair of sharp teeth nipped him on the back of his neck.
“Save it for your lover, Sage,” Rowen growled, lifting his head.
Sage chuckled before sinking his teeth in again. Rowen knew not to jerk out of his grip, lest it leave a deeper mark. They had an understanding over certain things and that was one of them. He waited until the blonde had released his neck in favor of licking at the bite marks.
“It’s called the Inferno. It gathers energy and the guiding virtues from the other armors to form itself. The Inferno is a legendary armor. It is said that at the peak of its power, it is able to destroy an entire planet. Its original bearer was a man by the name of Hariel.” Pause. “Would you quit that?”
Sage had one arm around Rowen’s shoulders from the back, but the other had drifted down his stomach. His hand was running lazy circles just over the waistband of his boxers. Sage dipped his head to the side of Rowen’s neck to press a hard kiss to it.
“Why should I? You’ve found some very useful information. I think you should be rewarded and right now I’m willing to be the one to give it to you,” Sage whispered to him.
Rowen moaned as his best friend’s hand found his cloth-covered member. It took very little to get him hard and panting lightly.
“What…what are you offering?” Rowen asked, trying to keep his voice.
Sage nipped the side of his neck with a small chuckle.
“What do you think you’d like?” Sage inquired.
“Your mouth.”
Sage smirked. His best friend hadn’t hesitated in the least with his answer. Sage whispered for him to scoot his chair back.
Rowen reluctantly let Sage release him, in favor of scooting his desk chair back. He let out a gasp as a hot mouth found his member. His head fell back and a hand came down to weave into blonde hair. The blue-haired warrior never event felt the lowering of his sleep pants.
“Fuck. I gotta find out one day how you do that,” Rowen murmured.
Sage hummed, sending pleasurable vibrations through his body. He cupped his testicles with one hand and used the other hand to run smooth circles over his inner thigh.
[That’s a trade secret, Ro. Knowledge known only by me and my lover.]
Rowen’s answer was a mental moan and a small thrust of his hips. Sage allowed him to thrust a few times before using both hands to still the movement. Rowen let out another sound of protest. Sage opened his eyes and looked at his best friend with raised eyebrows.
[Either you stay still while I play with you. Or this is all you get.]
Sage ended that mental message with a long suck. Rowen shivered. It had been too long since they had done something like this. He had forgotten just how powerful his blood brother was in the bedroom. He did his best to keep his hips down.
[By the spirits, you are a fucking tease, Sage. I’m gonna have ta have a talk with that lover of yers. Angel, my ass.]
Sage decided to shut both Rowen’s voices up and deep throated his hot length while squeezing his testicles. Rowen threw his head back and let out a few mental groans and whimpers. The other hand snuck under him to touch at his entrance. A finger slipped easily into his still loose entrance; Rowen hadn’t mentioned any recent couplings with his lover.
It didn’t take much for his release. Rowen didn’t even try to warn his friend as he came deep down his throat. Sage swallowed it all up and jabbed his finger relentlessly into Rowen’s prostrate. Another steady stream of cum flooded his mouth and Sage welcomed it with a wide open mouth.

Sage chuckled as he laid his head down on Rowen’s thigh and smiled innocently up at him. Rowen didn’t believe it for a second. He grunted when the finger gently rubbed at his pleasure spot.
“I ain’t gonna get any work done if ya keep doin’ that,” Rowen said, jerking slightly in his chair.
Sage’s response was to nip him on the inner thigh before mercifully removing his hands. Pushing off gently, Sage climbed to his feet so he stood partially blocking Rowen’s view of the computer. Sage let out a small moan as Rowen’s cold hand came up to cup him through his boxers.
“You want help with this?” Rowen teased.
Sage looked down at his friend as he rubbed gently at his semi-erection. Bringing a hand up to Rowen’s cheek, Sage leaned down to kiss him on the mouth. Rowen groaned and opened his mouth. Their tongues slipped over each other and fought briefly before they broke the kiss.
“Maybe another time,” Sage said.
Rowen firmly rubbed him from base to tip before releasing the blonde warrior. Sage shivered before stepping aside. Rowen slid his chair back to the desk and opened the search engine he had been in.
“How did you find that information? About the white armor,” Sage asked.
Rowen explained that he had finally tracked the information back to the University at Toyama. It had been difficult to do, what with Toyama only having had residents move back a month ago. The University only started everything back up a couple of weeks ago.
Shortly after arriving in the dynasty, the original residents of Toyama had had their life forces stolen from them by Talpa. The life forces had been used for a multitude of things, including waking the four slumbering ronins. The whole of Japan had left the city and its limits empty while testing had been going on on everything. Unable to find anything wrong, people had slowly moved into the city. Nowhere near its original population number, Toyama was now a youngling in city standards.
“Hmm. Impressive. Hacking into a University’s research database,” Sage said.
He watched as his friend typed in a bunch of odd-looking symbols and letters into the search engine. In response, several hundreds of profiles popped up. Sage frowned.
“What are you up to now?” Sage asked, curiously.
Rowen turned a dark smirk up to him, the edges of it lit up by the blue screen.
“Doing something we’ve been remiss about. We’ve been chasing Ryo,” Rowen pointed out.
“Because he has the ninth armor and his armor can summon the Inferno,” Sage commented.
Rowen shook his head at him and Sage shoved his shoulder. Rowen chuckled.
“We all know Ryo has been jumping back and forth between the realms and supposedly going under a pseudonym in the Mortal Realm. Thus, making it even more difficult to track him. However, we haven’t heard any word of the Ancient One returning which means he’s more likely to have remained in the Mortal Realm with the girl. Ryo is bound to keep in touch with them and should anything happen to the girl…then we can be ready for when he comes to her rescue.”
Sage mulled over Rowen’s words before dropping his head down to give his blood brother another deep kiss. When he pulled back, Rowen had a laughing grin on his face.
“Our wise stargazer. A very good plan, in my opinion. But how do you intend to find the girl?”
“I recall her grandfather; the old man Badamon possessed. He worked at the University. I suspect he would have her listed on the contacts.” Pause. “Do you remember her name?”
Sage closed his eyes and tilted his head back. He thought back to the day Talpa had sent them after the mortals and Ryo. He remembered the Ancient One being separated from the woman and child. He remembered Ryo arriving on the scene; him and Cale grabbing his arms to hold him back. He remembered Ryo yelling their names.
“Yuli!” “Mia!”
Sage smirked while opening his eyes.
“Mia. Ryo called her Mia.”
Rowen typed it into the search perimeters and the hundreds turned into about a hundred. Rowen groaned.
“Fuck my life.”
Sage snickered. He patted Rowen on the shoulder.
“I believe that’s what your lover is for. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go wake up mine to take care of my problem.”
Rowen murmured a note of gratitude as his best friend left the room. He turned back to the computer where his vision blurred slightly. He scooted his chair back and tilted his head back with his eyes closed.
[Rowen?]
Opening his eyes, Rowen frowned and glanced over at the bed. He was surprised to see his lover glancing over at him with a sleepy look. He hadn’t sensed him waking.
[Anubis?]
Anubis smirked.
[Next time, tell Sage to do that where I can see.]
Rowen snorted and barked out a laugh while shaking his head.
[I’ll be sure to pass along the message. Can’t guarantee he’ll do it. But I’ll still tell him.]
Anubis chuckled.
[Come to bed, love. Your best friend gave me some…inspiration.]
Rowen immediately jumped up to join his lover. Sage was right. He did deserve an award and it was time to collect from his lover.
