Tragedy.
     Saturday had now finally came. Netto's friends had came to his house early to help his mother with his party while he himself was out doing errands (Which he hated the most). Meiru, Yaito, and Anetta assisted Haruka with the food and birthday cake while Dekao and Tohru decorated the entire living room with balloons and streamers not to mention helped Yuuichiro with the gift wrapping.
The sound of knocking at the front door quickly got their attention, worried that he had came back quite early than expected, Mrs. Hikari answered it only to smile and feel fully relieved that it was Enzan who came back from his conference to be apart of the celebration. He held up a neatly gift wrapped little box smiling his best smile ever asking if he could come in. Stepping aside, he took slow steps admiring the surroundings of the decorated interior of the Hikari Residence. Seeing the two-toned hair male, Yaito and Anetta couldn't help but blush and giggle knowing how well they both had a crush on the Ijuuin heir. Shaking his head, he hugged each female and patted their backs. He liked them as friends but nothing over the top for deep down, he had set his sites on a certain brunette hyperactive boy himself.
   "Enzan-sama, how nice of you to come." Meiru beamed in delight coming out of the kitchen to catch the young successor's attention giving him a warm hug in return.
   "I wouldn't miss it for the world. Luckily, there was a bad storm in Jawaii so I told them to cancel until I got back. Where's Hikari?"
   "He's out right now and won't be coming back until those evening. What he doesn't know is that we're throwing him a surprise party instead of a regular one. Since you're here already, how would you like to help us finish the appetizers?" Nodding, he set his present down to get to work for he couldn't wait to see the look on his (secret) crush's face the minute he would give it to him.
It was already 5:00 by the time Netto came back home with three grocery shopping bags in hand.
   "I wonder why Mama told me was to get all of this from two different stores. I mean why didn't she just have Papa go do all the shopping today since it's his day off?"
   "I don't know Netto-kun, perhaps they had other plans in mind at the moment and could't get them done themselves." Rockman said in a slight snicker also knowing that today was his operator's birthday as well but kept it hush hush afraid that he would spoil the surprise. Turning the key into the lock to open the door and of course finding inside to be pitch black, he turned on the nearest light switch he could find; with just that click, everyone jumped from their hind place and...
   "SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY NETTO!" They all cheered as the next thing he knew he landed on his butt on the hardwood floor hearing laughter everywhere. Blushing in embarrassment, and shaking it off, he could see that all his good friends and acquaintances were here: Meiru, Yaito, Anetta, Dekao, along with his little brother Chisao, Tohru, Dingo, Princess Pride, Miss Mari, Higsby, Laika, and even the former members of Neo WWW showed up.
   Netto beamed brightly seeing that Enzan had kept his promise to come couldn't be anymore happier than he already was. "Wow, a surprise party for me? I don't know what to say thanks guys."
"Well, I don't know about you all, but I'm ready to party!" Chisao exclaimed throwing his arms up in the air hearing more laughs as they all agreed to his cute but hyper personality. And so the birthday bash went; music blared out as the crowd danced together or alone, games were being played as the kids made up their own rules and challenges, food was being eaten (which was Dingo and Netto's favorite part as they challenged each-other to an eating contest). And finally, the cake was cut but since the net battler was the birthday boy, he got the biggest slice of all. Now, it was time to open presents. Yuuichiro gave his favorite chair that he usually sat at to his son who got it just for tonight as he picked up a parcel from the colorful pile getting a special surprise.
A doodling pad with a set of pens, pencils, paint, and paintbrushes from Meiru.
   A Dream-catcher and lucky totem pole from Dingo.
A free coupon to #1 Curry from Dekao, Chisao, and the WWW Gang.
A box full of the different types of battle chips from Higsby.
A new set of clothes and rollerblades from his parents.
A bouquet of blue and white roses along with a snow globe from Pride.
A new game boy advance with games to go along with it from Tohru.
A rifle to practice with from Laika.
A framed picture of Miss Mari from herself to remember her by when he would go off to Middle School in Septemebr.
And a set of bandanas that represented a season from Yaito and Annetta.
Thanking everyone for their wonderful gifts, and putting them aside, Yaito piped up to let him know that he had one more left and that was from Enzan. Carefully undoing the red satin ribbon, and the wrapping paper to avoid ripping it off, revealed to be a little red box. Inside it laid a golden heart-shaped necklace where the half of it was blue-his favorite color.
   "Open it, there's one more surprise in it as well. The ivory and ebony boy requested gently as he did what he was told. His eyes began to water and a shaky smile slowly formed seeing a small picture of himself grinning widely at the camera. Couldn't keep his emotions in much longer, he ran towards him giving a lung crushing hug who couldn't breathe.
"Oh Enzan, thank you so very much; this is the greatest gift that I have ever gotten. Thanks again!"
"You're welcome, Happy Birthday Netto-kun."
