Disclaimer: I don't own Heaven's Lost Property or any of the characters (save any OCs I bring in). This does have romance in it, and it may get rated R, so be warned. There IS some swearing in this story, so beware of that. Remember that the Heaven's Lost Property series was designed for kids, so they made sure no swearing made it into the show. This author is more realistic though. I sincerely doubt that when one of his Angeloids were hurt, Tomoki would just get angry, it is this author's belief he'd be infuriated.

Delta (Astrea) finally makes her debut in this chapter and unlike the previous Angeloid (Nymph) she will NOT be joining the others as quickly. Nymph joining them in the last chapter was deliberate, despite the speed of which she joined for although all the characters to this story are important, Nymph is probably one of the most critical. Even in the Manga and Anime, she showed the most growth of any character.

My thanks to my readers who have been so patient about this story and the length of delays on the project. I do promise that all the chapters will eventually be uploaded.

I'd like to apologize for the length of this chapter, it is longer than the others, but I couldn't find a natural breaking point and felt this was the best method.

Chapter 3: Delta Invasion

A few weeks had passed since the severance of Nymph from her former master. The blue haired Angeloid had become reclusive and refusing to leave the room where her bed was. She had been given one by Tomoki, even though Angeloids didn't sleep. The only two people she had allowed in were Sohara and Ikaros. Tomoki was worried about her, of course, however she had made it clear she wasn't ready to see anyone else and that was something Tomoki chose to respect.

Sohara walked out of Nymph's room and closed the door and sat down at the table next to Tomoki. She sighed and said, "Nymph seems fairly upset. She lost her wings and her master in the same day. Honestly, I really do not know what to do."

Tomoki clenched his fists, then he shouted, "Who does that asshole think he is? Damn that former master of hers! He caused hell for Ikaros, then tortured Nymph to the point of insanity. If I ever get my hands on him I'll..."

A feminine voice said, "You'll what...bug?"

They spun around and saw Nymph was standing in the doorway, with Ikaros standing beside her.

Tomoki said, "I'll crush him. He hurt my friends, and is still after our heads, of that I promise." He stood up and went over to Nymph and looked her in the eyes, "Are you alright Nymph?"

Nymph said nothing but looked out the window and said, "Life can be cruel can't it? I worked so hard to please him, but nothing was good enough for him." She paused and said, "You should know that Delta will be coming. It has been two weeks and I am surprised he hasn't sent her yet."

Ikaros said without emotion, "He is probably briefing her on the current situation and preparing her to battle. She is up against me, after all."

Nymph looked at Ikaros and said, "Alpha, you must be careful. Yes you are powerful, but at close range, nothing can stop Delta if she goes all out. She is fast and deadly. Even your Aegis won't protect you if she gets in past your missiles."

Ikaros said softly, "I know Nymph."

Tomoki slammed his fist against the wall and said, "Why can't he just leave the two of you alone? Seriously, you two deserve to have a peaceful life. What is wrong with this guy that all he cares about is carnage and mayhem?"

Nymph said, "Everything is a game to this guy. My mas-Minos is a man that deserves respect. He united the Synapse with no assistance from anyone."

Sohara asked, "Isn't it about time you explained what the Synapse is Nymph? We still don't know much about it."

Nymph said, "You downers call it the New World. The vortex that is hovering above Japan is the entry point. Normally it travels the world phasing in and out of this dimension, but ever since Alpha's arrival, it has stayed fixed over Japan and in this dimension. It is a place where only Angeloids live."

Tomoki said, "Sounds like the old explanations of heaven or maybe it should be hell if they are all treated as you are."

Nymph shook her head and explained, "No, not all Angeloids are treated as such. Most of them are servants, or even pet class Angeloids, like Alpha claimed to be."

Ikaros was silent, then went into the kitchen to begin making their breakfast.

Tomoki stared at Nymph then asked, "What would it take to bring Minos to Earth to confront him directly."

Nymph started laughing and after she calmed down she said, "You want to challenge him directly? You are mad! There is no way we'd stand a chance, even if Delta were on our side. You'd best put that idea out of your head really fast bug or you will be the death of us all!"

Tomoki groaned and then sat down. He looked out the window and said, "You, Ikaros and the rest of the combat style Angeloids. None of you deserve the lot in life you have been given. Ripping off your wings? That went too far!"

Sohara said, "They were so beautiful too, I loved how they glowed in the light. Can they regrow Nymph?"

Nymph said, "Had my wings remained and it had been Alpha, I'd have been able to hack into her system and activate their regenerative programming. Without my wings, I could not do that. It is one flaw in my system, for without those wings, my power is limited. I am no stronger than a pet class Angeloid with hacking powers that can rival some of your best systems on Earth, which compared to Angeloids is limited at best. Even my ultimate attack, the Paradise Song, is a feeble laser beam now. It could probably blow a hole in a tank, but that's about it."

Ikaros came out with a small meal for the group and said, "In simpler terms, it is impossible to regrow her wings as things stand now. Even if you wished for it Master, I would not have the power to grant the request." They all sat down and Nymph ate hers slowly, with deliberation of avoiding the seaweed that had surrounded the Onigiri that had been prepared.

Shortly after this, Sohara walked out of the house with Nymph and Ikaros behind her. They were dressed in school uniforms and Ikaros was wearing a jacket to hide her wings. On the way they ran into Sugata traveling to school as well.

He asked, "How are you doing Nymph?"

Nymph looked to the sky and said, "As well as can be expected I suppose. I am flightless, powerless and without a master to call my own. I am no better than any other downer."

Tomoki said, "That's not quite true Nymph, you have knowledge that well exceeds most human knowledge."

A boy ran up and shifted from foot to foot and then he blurted out, "I love you Sohara, will you be my girlfriend?"

Sohara glared at the boy and said, "Not interested! Every day, you boys ask me out and I tell you no. This is the third time I have rejected you, why can't you leave me alone?"

The boy said, "You are so beautiful, it is hard for me to leave you alone."

Sohara said, "Well find a way, because no matter how many times you ask me out, I will never say yes!"

The boy said, "You'd rather be with a strange girl with wings, a girl who has nothing to offer and a pervert?'

Tomoki punched the boy in the stomach then he pulled the boy up and stared him in the eyes and said, "Care to repeat that? Say that about Nymph, Ikaros and Sohara again, I dare you! I am in no mood for your bullshit you brat! I have witnessed hell on Earth and seen what these girls have gone through. How dare you feign to know a thing about them, especially Nymph!"

The boy quivered on the spot and said nothing.

Tomoki pushed him back so he fell on his ass and said, "I thought as much. I will make this very simple for you, stay the hell away from Ikaros, Nymph and Sohara. That goes for any future females around them or myself. If I ever catch you near them or insulting them, you won't be returning home, unless you count a body bag as a method home. Am I perfectly clear you asshole?"

The boy nodded then ran away.

Nymph looked at Tomoki and asked, "Why? Why do you defend us in such a fashion? Isn't that a little extream? You barely know Alpha and myself."

Sohara answered for him, "It is just his way. He may be a pervert and a lech but he has morals when it comes to the mistreatment of others."

Tomoki said, "While I can't promise that I won't look at girls Sohara, but I can promise that I am done sneaking into locker rooms and all that junk. After seeing the way the guys were eyeing you and Ikaros up, I cannot in good conscience continue doing it myself to other girls."

Nymph blinked then asked, "Wait, is he what you people call a Pervert?"

Sohara laughed then said, "The biggest one I have ever met!"

Nymph asked, "Then why do you hang out with him?"

Ikaros said, "Is it not obvious Nymph?"

Sohara's cheek tinged pink when Ikaros said that only to hear her continue, "She wishes to contain the perversity to just her. This way her fellow classmates are spared the humiliation."

Sohara was inwardly relieved to hear that Ikaros had not caught onto the real reason and quickly answered, "Exactly right. If he misbehaves, I will chop him down so far he won't get back to torment the girls."

Tomoki stared at them and said, "Well that isn't very nice girls."

As they turned into the school yard, Sugata bowed and said, "I will see you three later at the New World Discovery Club, I must prepare some data and information...also Nymph." He paused and looked at her directly, "Come to the New World Discovery Club alone after school, I need to check something into your specs. I need to find out just how much you were harmed by those two other Angeloids a week ago."

Nymph turned away and let out a soft, "Hmph." She walked off, it was her way of saying, "I am not some toy for you to examine."

Tomoki said, "I'll talk to her, she will be there." He walked off to go with Nymph while Sohara and Ikaros watched Sugata leave. As they took a step towards the school, the two of them were swarmed by boys who all were staring at them with a strange look on their faces.

Sohara grabbed Ikaros' hand and said, "Quickly, run to class...now!" The two of them fled towards the school with a whole gang of boys chasing them. They dashed into the classroom and closed the door to find Tomoki and Nymph in a corner talking.

Tomoki asked, "Nymph, could you go where Sugata asked you to go?"

Nymph glared and asked, "Why should I? So I can be poked and prodded like some experiment?"

Tomoki rubbed the top of her head and said, "No, I want you to go to see if he can help. He is one of the smartest people I know, he may even be able to help you do things you never thought were possible."

Nymph sighed then said, "Fine, but if he starts getting perverted, I am out of there!"

Tomoki chuckled and sat down at his desk, Nymph sat at the desk to his right, Ikaros sat behind him and Sohara went to her regular seat. She glanced over at Tomoki who had both the Angeloids right next to him.

She thought, "Things are about to get really interesting." She was no clue just how right she really was.

Meanwhile...

A man tugged on a chain on his left hand. He said softly, "Delta, come to me now."

Within a minute a blonde haired girl with large white wings landed in front of him and bowed. She said, "Yes Master?"

He said, "Rise Delta, you are the greatest warrior Angeloid in all of this realm. I want you to go to the world of the Downers for a very special mission."

Delta looked at him and heard his command in her head. She nodded and said, "It shall be done Master."

He said, "Do not fail me Delta. If the Alpha or Beta interfere, you have my permission to eliminate them with extreme prejudice. Just remember to bring the Variable Wing Core back to me. Do not return without both those objectives complete."

Delta said, "Is that all Master?"

He smirked and said, "For now, yes. Get going Delta, and know that I will be waiting to hear good news from you."

She took off leaving a small crater where she had been kneeling.

He thought to himself, "Foolish girl. The moment she returns, I will scrap her in favor of the better model. This will be fun. Maybe I will enjoy her for a little before I do scrap her, she is an attractive one, even if she is an idiot."

Sugata was outside the main school yard at this point, he was checking into a tree that was not native to the region, it had just sprouted, but it was no more than a couple of weeks old, and seemed to have been planted the very day that Ikaros had arrived. As he checked the leaves, a golden light shot down to the earth. When the light subsided a blonde haired girl with white wings was in front of him. She was holding in her hand a hilt and a shield in her left hand. She began to walk towards him.

Sugata took up a defensive pose and asked, "Why has yet another Angeloid appeared on Earth?'

The girl said, "That is none of your business, I have one question for you, where can I find the human named Tomoki Sakurai?"

Sugata said, "Like I'd tell you Angeloid, now I do have a question, This tree here is not native to Earth, did it come from a dream?"

She shook her head and said, "No you dummy, it came from the Syn...whoa, nearly gave it away there."

Sugata smiled then said, "So it came from the Synapse."

She gasped and held her hand to her mouth then asked, "How did you know?"

Sugata laughed and said, "I didn't, you just told me."

She growled and took off like a rocket. She floated above him, "After I'm done with your friend, I will come back and finish you off damned Downer Bug!" She shot towards the main town, scanning for remnants of Tomoki Sakurai.

Tomoki answered his phone and whispered, "Not a good time Sugata, I'm in class."

Sugata said, "Quiet and just listen, a new Angeloid has appeared and she was asking for you in particular."

Tomoki blinked then asked, "Is this because of the incidents a week ago?"

Sugata said, "I can only assume so, be on your guard and keep Ikaros and Nymph with you at all times. I do not know her capabilities, but she could be very dangerous." He hung up.

Tomoki looked at the phone and Nymph whispered, "Something wrong?"

Ikaros looked at her master with an expression that was partly blank, partly worried.

Tomoki said, "I don't know yet, it could be nothing or it could be something significant. I want you two to remain with me until I figure it out."

Nymph laughed and said, "Like I'd listen to you, you aren't my master."

Tomoki stared right at her and said, "Oh you'll listen Nymph. It broke my heart to see you hurt that way and I will not see you in that much pain again, am I clear?"

Nymph swiftly turned her head to look at the birds outside, but Sohara could have sworn she saw Nymph's cheeks turn pink in the reflection.

A few hours passed and Sohara had noticed just how skilled these Angeloids were in school. They barely had to try and were getting everything correct, especially Nymph.

Tomoki watched the boys who were fawning over Ikaros and Sohara and was getting a bit annoyed about it and when one grabbed Sohara's shoulder he slammed his book on the desk causing the boy to jump. He said, "If you keep it up, I will show you what it means to be in pain, you leave my best friend alone. She is not a plaything, nor is she there for your amusement. This is your last warning boys, the three of them are off limits from now until the end of time." He turned to look at them and they were startled to see his eyes were flashing with a dangerous light.

The boy backed up and said, "It was all in good-"

Tomoki finished, "Fun? Why don't I show you what fun is?" He slowly stood up and began to walk towards them, but Sohara quickly put her hand on his shoulder.

She whispered, "No Tomo, don't sink to that level, you will end up acting like Mithos."

Tomoki slowly started to calm down, then put an arm around Sohara's waist and said, "As far as you are concerned boys, she is mine, as is Ikaros and Nymph! If Nymph or Ikaros allow you to talk to them or be near them, accept their kindness and be polite and respectful. If you cannot do this, then leave them alone, they have gone through enough."

The boys swiftly sat down and buried their heads in their books.

Tomoki asked, "You alright?"

Sohara nodded and answered, "Thanks Tomoki. They were getting annoying, I had to run with Ikaros into class earlier because they just will not leave us alone."

Tomoki said, "Well it's because of how attractive you two are, that and she is unique thanks to her, well you know."

Nymph said, "You can just say it, she is unique because of her wings, I no longer am unique."

Tomoki frowned then said, "With or without wings, you are unique and special Nymph. I wouldn't trade you for anything."

Nymph flushed and said, "Sh-shut up bug!" She was about to try and fly out the window when Ikaros grabbed her and stopped her. Nymph glared at Ikaros and asked, "The hell Alpha?"

Ikaros said, "You have no wings now, you'd fall to your death."

Nymph froze then sighed and said, "You're right of course, heh." She began to laugh but it was clear she was hiding her pain through laughter. One could just tell it in her eyes. She turned towards the door and went to go to the New World Discovery Club. She wanted to find out what her capabilities were, she knew what most of them were, but maybe Sugata would know better.

Tomoki's eyes widened as he looked out the window. A blonde haired girl was sitting in the tree, eating a snack bar and staring directly at him. What caught him off guard about her was that she had beautiful white wings, not at all unlike Ikaros' pink wings. He found something about her, unsettling to say the least. He whispered to Ikaros, "Do you know her?"

Ikaros looked out the window and saw her sitting there. The girl stuck her tongue out at Ikaros and went back to her snack bars. She turned to Tomoki and said, "Master, that would be Astrea, Close Range Combat model, Delta. She is unmatched in hand to hand combat."

Tomoki glanced over at her, "Is she one I should be worried about?"

Ikaros said, "If she becomes serious in battle, yes. Otherwise no, she's not the brightest girl in the bunch."

Tomoki said, "In retrospect, brawn over brains?"

Ikaros nodded and watched Sohara approach the window.

The girl eyed up the girl and said, "What do you want?"

Sohara asked, "You hungry?"

The blonde's mouth started to water at the notion of food and said, "Yes, but I'm not here for food."

Sohara asked, "What are you here for?"

The blonde said, "Can't tell ya!" She stuck her tongue out again and took off from the tree.

Sohara turned to Ikaros and Tomoki and said, "I think we should probably keep an eye on her. We should go after Nymph now, I mean if she does fight, Nymph wouldn't stand a chance without her wings."

Ikaros said, "That is true Miss Sohara. Even if she had her wings, Nymph would be outclassed."

The three of them left the classroom and went to the New World Discovery Club.

Meanwhile...

The man in the Synapse held the chain and called out, "Delta? Why did you not eliminate them just now?"

Delta answered, "Duh, Ikaros was standing right there, I may be the strongest, but she can keep her distance, I don't stand a chance if she does that. I have to catch her off guard."

The man said, "Very well, I leave it to your judgement." He paused then said, "Wait, what am I saying? You don't have much judgement at all! If you need help, call for Harpy and Gamma, they will have recovered in a few days from their injuries."

Delta said, "Gotcha, alright going to find some snacks." She took off and the man in the Synapse blinked then shook his head and thought, "Delta, you really are an idiot sometimes."

Sugata was examining Nymph when the others came in. He said, "Well she can still do some major hacking and she can even use her elemental weaponry but she cannot fly or do intense re-writes. Also with regards to the Angeloid I saw, if you divert her attention, she isn't hard to deal with."

Nymph nodded and said, "I should probably explain more." She pulled out a piece of paper and drew a circle on it and wrote three things in a triangular fashion. One was Computation, the second was Emotion, and the third was Combat. She pulled out three colored pens. She drew a triangle with the pink one. It went to points at Combat and Computation but had very little in the Emotion section. She then drew a blue one that went to Emotion and Computation. She said, "I have high emotion and Computation, but my combat abilities are low. Alpha here has high Computation and Combat, but very low emotion. Now watch this." She drew a third triangle and said, "Delta...is different. She has high emotional abilities, the highest of all three of us and even higher combat abilities than Alpha, but her computation is very low. Basically, Delta is an idiot. She can be smart in some aspects, but not enough to really be a threat unless you make her angry. She becomes virtually unstoppable should that happen. Alpha here could handle her in a fight if she kept her distance but if Delta closes the gap, even Aegis won't save Alpha."

Tomoki looked at the graph and said, "Meaning she is very dangerous when her emotions run wild. Sounds like the Incredible Hulk from American Comics."

Nymph nodded and said, "Precisely, so we must be cautious."

Tomoki rubbed her head softly and said, "Good Nymph, you really are!"

Nymph flushed for a split second before she turned away and glanced out the window, "Hey everyone, she's back."

Sohara asked, "Any idea why she is here?"

Mikako said, "Well maybe she's here to enslave the human race and make them bow down to her will."

Sugata blinked and said, "Mikako you have some strange thought sometimes."

Mikako walked over to Sugata, a strange look had come on her face, "Are you saying that it's impossible? Are you saying that most boys would not gladly fall at her feet?"

Sugata gulped and backed up to the window and said, "Mikako, I uh-"

She laughed softly then said, "Well Tomoki, I think you should go out there and greet our angel friend."

Tomoki eyed her and asked, "Why me, huh?"

Mikako said, "Well you certainly did well with Nymph, I mean she was so cold when you first met her, she was even trying to kill Ikaros here and now they are friends."

Tomoki sighed and said, "Fine, but I want Ikaros to come with me. That girl is trying to kill me after all."

Mikako said, "She will respect it more if you come out and talk to her alone. Don't worry Ikaros will be right here should you need her."

Ikaros said, "Yes Master, call me if you need me."

Tomoki shook his head and said, "Fine, I will go talk with her." He left the room.

Sohara asked, "Are you sure this is wise? I mean if we misjudge her, she could kill Tomoki easily."

Nymph said, "I wouldn't worry about that too much Sohara." She looked out the window and said, "Delta is also a bit clumsy, so he shouldn't have too much trouble staying one step ahead of her."

Astrea watched Tomoki as he left the doors of the school. She thought, "Perfect he is alone, now would be my chance." Her hand strayed to her waist and took hold of her sword Chryasor and was ready to use it at a moment's notice.

Tomoki walked right up to where Astrea was standing and said, "Alright, so I'm here, why have you come down here?"

Astrea blinked then said, "W-well, I came down here to have snacks oh yeah and to kill you, I mean uh-"

Tomoki asked, "Is that what you want to do?"

Astrea glared, "What do you mean? It is my master's order, I have no choice in the matter!"

Tomoki said, "Why don't you decide for yourself." He stopped when he heard her stomach growling.

Astrea flushed and nearly dropped her sword and said, "I-ignore that you bug! Whether I am hungry or not is my business, not yours."

Tomoki sighed and asked, "Apart from those snack bars, what have you had to eat?"

Astrea said, "Nothing so there!"

Tomoki took her hand and walked with her purposefully towards the cafeteria. Astrea asked, "W-wait a minute, where are we going?"

Tomoki answered, "Duh, we are going to get you some food you dummy! When your stomach is growling like that, it means it is time to eat, I don't care if you are trying to kill me or not."

Astrea flushed for a second then said, "N-no I can't accept gifts from the enemy."

Tomoki turned and looked so they were staring at each other eye to eye and said, "I will not allow someone to be starving in front of me, do you understand me?"

Sohara had followed them, worried about Tomoki and had been watching their progress. She thought, "Good Tomo, that's just like you."

Tomoki said, "Astrea isn't it? Down here, we eat when we are hungry." He tugged gently on the Blonde haired Angeloid who followed without further complaint. This was due to the fact that she was, in fact, really hungry.

Astrea began darting back and forth looking at the food, "It all looks so good! Oh what's that, and that?"

Tomoki laughed softly and asked, "Have you not seen some of this food? Sheesh Astrea, what kind of rock have you lived under? Didn't your master feed you?"

Astrea froze and thought back to her time in the Synapse.

Flashback to Astrea's dealings with her master (Minos)...

Astrea watched as her master was eating some prime veal. Her stomach rumbled loudly as she glanced down at her plate. She had finished her slices of bread a while ago and now stared hungrily at the veal.

Her master said, "What are you staring at Delta? You know this food is not for Angeloids."

Astrea asked, "Why master? I'm hungry!"

He said, "You are always hungry you pest, now go fly away from me. Do something else, quit bugging me, before I have Gamma and Harpy slice you to pieces."

Astrea bowed, "I understand master."

He said, "Oh and tell Nymph to come up here for a while, I want to have my regular punching bag again."

Astrea gasped and said, "Y-yes master, why are you so hard on her?"

He smirked and said, "Because she is good for nothing, and once she captures the Uranus Queen, I will scrap her. Now get out of here Delta or I will teach you the same lesson. All I have to do is order you to leave your weapon and shield at the door and you will be just as pathetic and useless as she is, now GO!"

Astrea hung her head and flew away.

Astrea said, "I don't know, I guess he was nice to me, he didn't beat on me like he did Nymph."

Tomoki said, "No one deserves mistreatment Astrea, now what would you like?"

Astrea said, "I eat it all!"

Tomoki laughed then said, "You can pick three things to try today. If I let you loose, you'd probably eat everything in the cafeteria. You know some girls would envy you."

She blinked, "Envy? Why?"

He answered, "Simply put, you can eat all you want and never gain an ounce."

Astrea flushed and said, "W-well that's..."

He brought her a hamburger, fries and a can of Cola. He opened the can for her and slipped the chair in so she sat down in it. He then rubbed the top of her head and said, "That's better Astrea, now eat up."

She took a bite of the burger and her eyes lit up. She swallowed her bite and said, "This is so good!" She began to eat fast.

Tomoki watched her eat and thought, "What kind of master allows angeloids to be beaten so terribly, and even starves another one."

Astrea finished eating and yawned. She fell asleep with her head on the table.

Tomoki blinked and then called, "Ikaros, come to me please."

Seconds later Ikaros dashed into the cafeteria, ready to kill Astrea when she saw that Astrea was asleep in front of Tomoki. She walked up and said, "Are there any problems master?"

Tomoki said, "Bring Astrea to my house, she needs a place to sleep. Remain with her, do not let her out of your sight until my return."

Ikaros said, "Understood master, do you want her eliminated if she attempts to harm another?"

Tomoki shook his head and said, "No, detain her if she tries that and leave her for me to deal with. Also, do you know how to cook?"

Ikaros said, "I know how to cook basic meals, but that is all so far Master."

Tomoki said, "I will send Sohara to join you after school today. She used to bring me meals every weekend and I looked forward to them all the time. I hope that we get to have her cooking all the time someday."

Ikaros nodded then picked up Astrea carefully and walked out the door of the cafeteria, then flew them back to Tomoki's house.

He stood up and went back to the New World Discovery Club.

On the way back he stopped by a bush and said, "Sohara, I know you're in there, come out please."

Sohara gasped and climbed out of the bush and asked, "How did you know?"

Tomoki smiled and whispered in her ear, "You're the only girl I know with Strawberry scented shampoo."

Sohara flushed a deep red then shook her head and asked, "Are you and that Angeloid alright?"

Tomoki sighed and looked to the sky, "Astrea isn't so bad. I can tell she has a big heart and is very smart in some ways. She has a high level of intelligence in others, especially when it would come to swordplay. I merely had to look at her arms to know how strong she is. She may look like a blonde girl with wings, but she is strong. The more emotional she is, the faster she would attack in determination to win and with less mistakes. The short form of it is that the angrier she gets, the more accurate and powerful her attacks become."

Sohara eyes raised to the sky and asked, "Tomo, are we in trouble? Will we be alright?"

Tomoki said, "I do not know, to assume that Mithos wants my head for taking Ikaros and Nymph away. he may not have cared about them at all, but Ikaros must have something he desperately wants. Think about it, Nymph was sent down to kill Ikaros. When she failed, Delta was sent down to kill me instead."

Sohara spun towards Tomoki and burst out, "Then is it really safe for you to be alone with her? I mean he could order her at any point to kill you!"

Tomoki answered softly, "Even if she did kill me, if it freed her from his control, I wouldn't care. These Angeloids are are trapped under their cruel master's heel. Look at what happened to Nymph! All that pain and suffering, for WHAT?" He grabbed onto the nearby tree and squeezed a branch in frustration. He softly said, "Now what if Astrea started going through that? Or maybe Ikaros. What if it was another Angeloid? I know it isn't my business, hell it isn't my business if Astrea is mistreated, but something just screams out to me from within to save these girls."

Sohara smiled and threw her arms around Tomoki and held him close. She could feel him shivering partly in fear, partly in anger and whispered, "Tomo...this is why you are so dear to me, and some other girls in our school. There are a lot of them who have talked with me about you. They asked why I would hang around with a pervert all the time. I told them that your heart was so kind that even the most perverted act would not keep me from you."

Tomoki felt his cheeks flushing from the compliment and rubbed the back of his head nervously then said, "I see." He turned and said, "Let's head back, I need to check on Nymph. I also need you to head to my place and help Ikaros there. She cannot cook more than simple meals. If Astrea wakes up, she will be probably hungry again."

Sohara asked, "Why would you want me to cook for her? Surely as an Angeloid, she has had better food than my cooking."

Tomoki answered, "Because her master sometimes even starved her, that's why. Please just help Ikaros out with this."

Sohara sighed then said, "Alright, but just be careful Tomo, I can't help feeling something more is going on than what we are seeing with our eyes."

Tomoki said, "Right back at you, just be careful and keep your eyes open."

She hugged him and said, "Take care of Nymph for me, she needs someone right now. The poor girl has gone through so much."

Tomoki smiled and said, "Don't worry, I got this." He watched Sohara leave and thought, "Damn she is cute when she isn't chopping me to death." He turned as his best friend headed to his place then returned to where Nymph and Sugata were waiting with Mikako.

Sohara entered Tomoki's house half an hour later to find Ikaros attempting to cook rice but being unable to figure out the Rice Cooker. She laughed softly and went up to her and said, "Ikaros, I should probably show you how to make food here." She set up the rice cooker and got the rice and water ready then prepared the machine and said, "Once I close this, you do not open it until the bell from it rings, otherwise the rice will not cook properly."

Ikaros nodded and watched Sohara move around the kitchen. She eyes darted back and forth, following her and was impressed. Sohara moved with a grace she had not seen before in the kitchen. Sohara seemed to flow from one appliance to the next, setting the food on the flames and was preparing food in the oven as well, all the while cutting the vegetables after setting it up. By the time the food was starting to properly cook, the onions, and vegetables were sliced. She added that to the mix and put the pot on and set the second pot on. One had water in it, but the element was off, the other she was preparing a tomato base.

About half an hour of this had passed. She had the onions, peppers and even the garlic ready to go. She had read about this recipe from her phone and had been desiring to try it for a while now. She had all the necessary ingredients and was ready to test it out finally. An Angeloid that loved food so much would be a perfect test if it was good or not. She pulled the pan out and began to fry the vegetables and even the meat. It was rare that she got a chance to cook with it as usually meat was a type of food that was expensive. She knew that Astrea would love it and Ikaros was even staring in surprise at all the food she was making. She scraped the fried vegetables into the pot with the tomato base, then did the same thing to the meat once it was fried and cooked. She then began to simmer it and added herbs and spices. After enough were added, she let it simmer for a while before trying a taste of it and said, "Alright Ikaros, come try this."

Ikaros went over and tried a taste and her eyes widened before she said, "This is really good. How did you do this?"

Sohara said, "My mother was a good baker, but she wasn't the best at meals, I learned from my father how best to make food and this is a nice dish that is rare for us to have. The rice that is being made will be made into Onigiri for a lunch, but I will be boiling pasta for the main food to go with this."

Ikaros blinked and asked, "This will be good?"

Sohara nodded and said, "It isn't a traditional meal for us, but it will be really good. I think you and Astrea will love this."

Ikaros asked, "Can we really trust Astrea? I mean her mission is to kill Master."

Sohara sighed then turned off the heat off two of the elements and cleaned up while she thought, "True enough, that girl's primary mission is to kill Tomoki. I hope he knows what he is doing." She said out loud, "Even if she is, Tomo isn't the type to just leave someone in trouble. It's what I love about him." She looked at Ikaros and said, "You'd be dead if it were not for him, he risked his own life just to bring you from a place where pillars of stone were crashing into the ground. Then there was Nymph who was here to bring you back to the Synapse, either in pieces or whole. He risked himself again with the bomb in her collar just to free her from her former master's control. He is a bit of a sucker for those who are suffering or in trouble, especially women. Of course he is a notorious pervert, but he seems to have calmed down recently. I mean I can't remember the last time he tried to peek into a girl's changing room."

Ikaros asked, "Is that a problem for a boy to do that?"

Sohara laughed and said, "Well it can be. I mean girls like their privacy, and some boys do not respect that and it offends us. That said, I forgave him for all the times he did it because he had such a kind heart."

Ikaros heard a noise and said, "Excuse me, Astrea is getting up, I must go check on her."

Sohara nodded and went back to cooking.

Meanwhile...

Tomoki walked into the New World Discovery Club to find Nymph sitting on a chair, still being examined. She was fidgeting and even squirming in the seat. He watched her as she seemed nervous and even a little bit scared.

She asked, "Is this going to take much longer? I don't like the idea of leaving Astrea alone for too long."

Sugata answered, "Even if you went there, you wouldn't last very long against her. Your combat abilities have been cut in half, and your flight abilities are zero. On top of that, your hacking power has been cut down by three quarters of their original power."

Nymph's eyes lowered and she stared at the floor before she said, "I'd still try to help Sugata. I mean if I had succeeded in my mission, Astrea wouldn't have even been sent here."

Tomoki sat down next to Nymph and began to rub the top of her head softly. As he was stroking the top of her head he said, "And if that had happened, you'd still be under the thumb of a jackass who doesn't care whether you live or die. That is not what I want for you Nymph."

Nymph closed her eyes and sighed softly from the affection and said, "My former master, he never was this kind. Why are you so nice to me Tomoki?"

Tomoki answered, "I don't really know. I never have really had it in me to be truly mean to people, especially girls. Sure I was perverted and would drive them nuts by checking them out or peeping where I should not be, but I was always there if someone needed help. Maybe that's why Sohara has stuck by me as long as she has."

Mikako said, "Or she could just feel sorry for you."

Tomoki spun to face her and said, "What do you mean?"

Mikako laughed and said, "Do you really think a girl as beautiful as Sohara would stay by your side just because you're nice? Please, don't make me laugh! She stays with you because she feels sorry for you because you have no female friends. Rest assured, now that you have Nymph and Ikaros, she will leave you once she finds a guy she likes."

Tomoki was silent and took Nymph's hand and said, "Even for you, that is a cold thing to say."

Mikako said, "I am just calling it how I see it Tomoki. I could very well be incorrect in this assumption."

Sugata stood up and said, "Enough Mikako! Nymph, we are done here, Tomoki would you take her home please?"

Tomoki said, "Gladly!" He walked off with Nymph's hand in his. As they left the schoolyard, about ten girls froze when they saw Nymph's hand in his.

A girl screamed, "EW! He's going to do something perverted to her, GET HIM GIRLS!"

The ten girls pushed Nymph to the side and began stomping on Tomoki.

Nymph shouted, "Hey get away from him!"

They spun on her and said, "You want the same treatment? Are you a pervert girl as well?"

The leader said, "She must be, she is defending the worst pervert ever to be in our school! Get her!"

They began moving towards her but Tomoki got to his feet and said, "Is that all you girls have? You want a pervert, I'll show you a pervert you psychopaths!" He dashed past them and shoved them one by one on ground. They instantly covered their bodies as their skirts were about to flap up. They stood up and glared at him then slammed him down on the ground and began stomping him.

Nymph froze and then realized he had done that on purpose, just to protect her. She shed a tear then shouted, "LEAVE HIM ALONE YOU BULLIES!" She was about to attack when she caught Tomoki's eyes from within the crowd. His brown eyes were staring straight at her with a gaze that rooted her to the spot. She found she couldn't move her legs out of fear from that look. His look told her to stay still and let him protect her.

After about ten minutes this, the lead girl kicked Tomoki into a tree. She walked up to him and spat on him before saying, "If I ever catch you around that girl again, I will make you wish you weren't born." She turned to the others and said, "Let's get out of here girls, we will get him more next time."

Nymph ran up to him after the girls had left and saw that he had a broken arm and for all she knew a few busted ribs. She knelt beside him and whispered softly, "Why Tomoki? Why did you do that? I could have handled those hits far better than you can. You're just a human."

Tomoki coughed up some blood and said, "Because, I couldn't just let them hurt you Nymph. I couldn't stand by and watch you be hurt. Never again Nymph, I couldn't let you...be hurt...because of...me..." He closed his eyes and lost consciousness.

Nymph's eyes watered as she looked at his unconscious body and then noticed his cell phone. She took it in her hand, then realized she had no idea who to call. She began scrolling through contacts and saw Sohara's name on one of them. She pressed the button and it started to ring. She began to pace and thought, "Please answer, for the love of all that is important, answer this phone call Sohara!"

Sohara was humming happily as she was finishing up her preparations for Tomoki and Nymph's return when her cell phone went off. She answered it, "Hello Tomoki, what's up?" She didn't hear any answer but heard sniffling on the other end and asked, "Tomoki? Wait, that's a girl sniffling, Nymph is that you?"

Nymph tried her best to compose herself, she had to. She finally said, "Help us, these girls...they..." Her voice broke on the end, and it was obvious she was shaken, really badly in fact.

Sohara gripped the phone tighter, "What happened Nymph?" Her voice was filled with dread.

Nymph explained the whole scenario then started to cry.

Sohara said, "Hang up the phone and dial 9-1-1. Press the Send key after you do this, Explain that you need an ambulance there and stay on the line with them. They will trace the cell phone signal and be there soon. I will fly with Ikaros there and drag Astrea by force if I need to, we still need to keep an eye on her." She hung up the phone. She called, "Ikaros, bring Astrea in here please!"

Ikaros walked in with what appeared to be a sleepy Astrea. The blonde's eyes widened as she was smelling all the good food. She was about to dash to the pot when Sohara held up her hand.

She said, "We are going for a flight first. Ikaros, what you will see will affect you, low emotional setting or not. I want you to promise me right now that you will follow my commands. I am acting in place of Tomoki at this moment, is that clear?"

Ikaros blinked then said, "Yes Miss Sohara, but why would you be acting in place of Master? Did something occur while we were here?"

Sohara said, "Carry me with you and Astrea you are coming with us too. If you do, you will be able to eat after, okay?"

Astrea beamed and said, "For food, I will come!"

Sohara held her phone tighter in her hand and said, "Ikaros, do you know where your master is right now?"

Ikaros' eyes went red as she began to scan, "He is currently staying still outside where you two go to school. Nymph is with him."

Sohara said, "Take us to them, now Ikaros!"

Ikaros picked up Sohara and she began to fly. Astrea followed swiftly, the promise of that alluring food still on her mind.

Nymph held the phone next to her ear, a person on the other end was saying comforting things, such as that everything would be alright and help would be there shortly. She held onto those words with a prayer that they were right. By scanning Tomoki, she knew they needed to arrive fast. He was in danger and it was all her fault. Nymph whispered into the phone, "Please hurry! He is weakening fast and I am afraid for him!"

The woman on the other end said, "Don't worry miss, the ambulance was dispatched a couple of minutes ago, it should only take them another two minutes to arrive."

Nymph looked down at Tomoki and realized that if she didn't do something, his heart would stop in less than a minute. She knelt down next to him and said, "I won't let you die, I can't let you die! Tomoki, I-I can't lose you. You are the one person who has been protecting me, even before I lost my wings." She held her hand over Tomoki's weakened body and closed her eyes and said, "Hacking field open!" She winced as pain shot through her body. She was trying to use powers that were stronger than her body could take at the moment. She shook away the pain then said, "All the power I have, I won't let it end!" She began to send static shocks through Tomoki's body. It was forcing his heart to continue to beat. She held the phone to her ear and said, "Hurry, I can't keep him stable much longer."

She began to scan as she waited and located Ikaros and Astrea on the way. She said, "Alpha and Delta...they will be here soon...will they hate me for this? What about Sohara who has been so nice to me. If I just had stopped holding his hand before we arrived here, none of this would have happened." She held the phone to her chest and cried softly.

Half a minute after she had said this, Ikaros landed and Sohara got out of Ikaros' arms and went over to Tomoki. She knelt and stroked his hair out of his eyes and said, "Nymph...this isn't your fault."

Nymph said, "B-but I..."

She looked straight at Nymph, "It isn't your fault. I should have asked Ikaros to come get the two of you, did you see which girls did this?"

Nymph pointed shakily at a group of girls who were laughing and looking at their schoolwork under a tree. there were ten of them there and they didn't look exactly like they were weak.

Sohara said, "Nymph, Ikaros, stay with Astrea and Tomoki."

Nymph said, "Sohara, please no more. Stop the fighting, I can't stand it!"

Sohara froze and then said, "Very well, I won't hurt them." She paused then finished her statement, "Much that is." She walked over and placed her hands behind her back and said, "Hi girls!"

The leader looked up and froze for a split second before she said, "Hello Sohara, how are you today?"

Sohara stretched slowly and said, "Well I wouldn't be bad at all, except that you girls caused severe harm to my friend. Remember what I said to all of you at the beginning of this school year? Anyone who hurts Tomoki answers to me!"

The leader said, "Yeah, but you hurt him daily!"

Sohara glared and a purple aura began to glow around her. The other nine girls backed up swiftly. She began to walk slowly towards the lead girl and said, "Yes, but the difference there is, I genuinely care about him. He taught me how to fight. He is also my childhood friend and has been my neighbor entire life, well save for one year when he was in Tokyo. He is also very kind hearted and caring. I'd rather have him sneaking into my room trying to check me out and have that kind heart than see him hurt. Hell, sometimes I actually relish in the fact that he finds me attractive enough to sneak into my room. I've even given him a bit of a show before I knocked him into the ground. Why do I do this? Because at least I know that no matter what, he would protect me with his very life, just like he did for Nymph a moment ago. As for you ten girls, you are nothing but cold hearted bitches who were so horrible to him and made Nymph cry! No one, and I mean NO ONE HURTS TOMOKI OR MAKES NYMPH CRY!"

The leader glared back and said, "Want to say that again to my face?"

Sohara got right in her face and stared coldly in her eyes. She then said in a tone that was venomous, "Cold...hearted...bitch!"

The leader swung her fist at Sohara who caught it in her right hand and clenched hard causing the girl to gasp out in pain.

She yanked the girl close to her and whispered in her ear, "The only reason you aren't laying there beaten down in a mess right this second is because Nymph, you know the girl over there that you thought you were protecting, begged me not to hurt you girls. I will give you one warning, if you ever touch Tomoki, Nymph or myself again, I swear that if I don't teach you a lesson, Ikaros over there will. You know the girl with pink wings and pink hair?"

The leader winced as Sohara let her go and then said, "That winged freak? What is she going to do?"

Sohara glared and said, "Did you just call one of my best friends a freak?"

The leader froze and started to back up.

Sohara said, "Well did you? Because I swear that's what I just heard."

She was about to charge when Nymph grabbed her from behind and held her back, "Please, no more Sohara, I don't want to see any more people hurt!"

Sohara glowered at the girls and said, "Last warning, come near my friends again, and I will personally hospitalize you all!" She slowly calmed down and put her arm around Nymph and walked off.

The lead girl shouted, "She's a pervert lover! Pervert Lover, Pervert Lover!"

Very soon the girls were all shouting it.

Ikaros said softly, "I could always just fire a few missiles at them, it would certainly silence their statements."

Sohara shook her head and said, "Let them say what they want, words don't hurt me. All that matters is that Tomoki is alright."

An ambulance came up and a paramedic got out. She ran up to the group of four and Tomoki and asked, "So what happened here?"

Sohara said, "I will let this one fill you in, as I was not here at the time."

Nymph shook slightly as the paramedic girl looked down at her and asked, "Well?"

Ikaros was staring at the girls who were still calling Sohara names. Her eyes went red, but Sohara held her shoulder and said, "Ikaros, no, that's an order! Tomoki would give the same one in this circumstance, I know it!" Ikaros sighed and her eyes returned to normal.

Nymph was, meanwhile, explaining to the woman what happened. She finished by saying, "It is my fault, if I had just let go of his hand before we got to the schoolyard...none of this would have happened."

The paramedic said, "This is only the fault of those who hurt him, not you. If you had wanted to be kissing him while walking by, you are free to do that here, they should have no power to stop you. Do you want to press charges on the girls?"

Nymph blinked and asked, "What do you mean?"

The Paramedic stared at her for a moment then explained, "Actions like this are against the law. You can have them charged accordingly and they could receive records for this."

Nymph thought for a moment then said, "I think I will leave that up to Tomoki. He's the one who got injured by this after all."

The Paramedic nodded and called out her partner, "First, we need to stabilize his condition. Interesting, his body has been exposed to a high level of electricity, how did that happen? It prevented his heart from stopping."

Nymph whispered, "That was my doing."

The paramedic said, "Get him into ambulance via the stretcher, we will have to move him carefully." The partner nodded and got out the necessary materials. She said, "Ready...on three and move!" The two moved him on very carefully. They could not ascertain how bad the injuries truly were, but from the lacerations on his unconscious body, it was extensive. Some of the girls had even got their heels in there to do some major breaking of the skin. The paramedics got him into the ambulance.

The female parmedic asked, "We are about to head out to the hospital, who is going with him in the ambulance?"

Sohara looked at Nymph and said, "Get in, I will come with the others behind you."

Nymph said, "But I-"

Sohara pushed her in and said, "Just go already!"

Nymph sat next to Tomoki and held his hand while Sohara and the others came after the ambulance.

The Paramedics worked on stabilizing his condition and the female one asked, "Tell me something miss, how did you use electric shocks on him?"

Nymph froze then said, "W-well you see, you may not believe me."

The paramedic said, "I noticed your friend had wings, and reports were granted that a girl with your description also had wings. Obviously you do not have them anymore, is your electric shocks part of abilities that only your kind possess?"

Nymph nodded and said, "I guess that's the simplest way to explain it, but please don't have Alpha locked up for testing."

The paramedic smiled and rubbed Nymph on top of her head, "Don't worry little one, I won't let that happen. You did right to call us, we are professionals after all."

Nymph held Tomoki's hand tighter and whispered, "Hang on Tomoki, just hang in there and don't give up! I don't know what I'd do if you didn't wake up from this!"

A few hours later...

Tomoki slowly opened his eyes to find himself staring at a white ceiling. He was about to sit up when he felt he was in pain all over.

Nymph cried out, "Tomoki, you can't get up yet. You got hurt really bad."

Tomoki groaned and asked, "Nymph, what happened? Last thing I remember was being ganged up on. Those psychopathic girls!"

Nymph said, "It's okay, we are all here, even Delta is standing nearby."

Tomoki looked to his right and saw that Astrea was standing by the window, sword in hand staring at the sky. He asked, "Has she been like that long?"

Nymph said, "Ever since you arrived here three hours ago. She hasn't moved an inch, nor has Ikaros. Sohara has been helping the nurses with your medication. This is all my fault, had I just stopped holding your hand."

Tomoki reached out and took her hand for a moment and said, "It is alright. Nymph it really isn't your fault. Hell we could have been kissing with you pressed to a tree and they shouldn't have done what they did. I will deal with those girls later, for now, I must get better."

A nurse walked in and said, "Ah, good he is awake. The good news is that apart from your ribs and the broken arm, the damage was superficial. Your arm has been casted and your ribs will heal in a few weeks. I recommend taking it easy for a few days. You're a lucky guy Sakurai-San, had this blue haired girl not been there, you could have died from internal bleeding."

Tomoki laughed softly and said, "I guess it is what you call just desserts from being a pervert for so many years.

The nurse blinked then said, "A pervert?"

Tomoki said, "Yeah, I acted like a pervert to tease those girls for many years because they were cruel to me in elementary and junior high school."

The nurse sighed and said, "Sometimes children can be so cruel, don't you think Sakurai-San?"

Tomoki nodded and winced from the movement, then he looked at the three angeloids, one by one. Even Astrea was there as Nymph had kindly pointed out. She was the last one he had expected to show up.

Astrea turned and looked at him and said, "If you died, how would I complete my mission? It was to defeat you myself, not to let some teenage brats defeat you. How dare you get into a fight with some random females and not call me to aid you? The mission is not for your defeat, it is for your defeat at my hands! Never let that happen again. If anyone is to take you down, it shall be I, Astrea!"

Tomoki sighed and said, "You'd have reported it that I was defeated, that's all."

Astrea said, "And miss out on all that good food? Are you a dummy?"

Tomoki laughed and said, "Yes Astrea, you'd miss out on good food. How long until I can go home nurse?"

The nurse said, "Well the doctors want to run a few tests...then found something interesting in your friend Mistuki-San."

Tomoki slowly sat up and asked, "What do you mean, interesting?"

The nurse said, "The doctor will explain that to you in a moment." She changed his pillow then left.

Tomoki looked to Astrea and asked, "What is she talking about?"

Astrea shrugged then said, "Beats me...on that note." She pointed her sword at Tomoki and said, "You'd better get well, I still need to fight you, you big dummy! You aren't supposed to get hurt like that defending Nymph here! Only me, you hear me?"

Tomoki blinked and said, "You'd rather I get hurt defending you?"

Astrea turned red then said, "O-Of course not! I just meant that..."

Ikaros said, "Be quiet Astrea. Master needs his rest, and I will not have you disturb him, is that clear?"

Astrea fell silent fast. She wasn't ready to fight the Uranus Queen yet. She sat down and asked, "Anything I can do?"

Tomoki said, "Not really, I mean I just need to heal right?"

Nymph growled softly and said, "If I still had my wings, I could use my hacking field to expedite your body's natural healing process, but without them, I don't have that kind of power anymore. I wish I had managed to protect them better!"

Tomoki said, "Don't worry about it, what is going on with Sohara?"

Ikaros said, "We haven't seen her for an hour, and I am starting to grow concerned."

Astrea said, "She's resourceful and clever, I'm sure she is fine."

The doctor was taking blood samples and doing some tests on Sohara. He said, "Most interesting, your blood...it is fluctuating rapidly Miss Sohara."

Sohara blinked and asked, "What does that mean?"

The doctor said, "I do not know...would you permit me taking a blood sample from the two girls with wings with your friend in there? I doubt they'd let me do it without his approval or yours."

Sohara got off the bed and said, "I can always ask, are we done here?"

The doctor nodded and said, "Return to your friends, he should be waking up soon. I will accompany you and make the request personally."

The two left the room and entered Tomoki's room. Nymph ran up to Sohara and hugged her then noticed the band-aid on her arm. She began to glow slightly and said, "He hurt you?"

Sohara laughed softly and said, "Calm down Nymph, it's a standard Blood test. In fact the doctors want to get all of your blood samples on record. Would you three be okay with that?"

Astrea crossed her arms and said, "You want me to trust some random downer bug with my blood? Fat chance!"

Tomoki asked, "Astrea, could you let them? I am curious about something as well."

Astrea froze then said, "F-fine, if my target asks for it, I suppose I can make an exception."

The doctor approached the blonde and said, "Your friend Sakurai-San is very lucky...he's surrounded by cute girls and good friends."

Astrea said, "He's not my friend, he's my target, my master has..."

Nymph quickly covered her mouth and said, "Don't mind her, she was playing a game with me yesterday before this where we called one person master each, she chose Tomoki."

The doctor laughed and said, "I see. I must admit, your wings are very beautiful." He was referring to Astrea.

Astrea beamed and flapped them softly and said, "I love them as well, thank you!"

He asked, "May I take a feather? I want to look at it more closely."

Astrea blinked then reached to her right wing and plucked a feather from her right wing, then went over to Ikaros and took one of her feathers as well. She handed them to the doctor and held out her arm. As the doctor slipped the needle into her arm, she winced, realizing that it was over before she knew it.

The doctor went over to Ikaros next who merely held out her arm without hesitation. The doctor took a sample quickly then looked around the room. He was about to leave when Nymph tugged on his sleeve and asked, "What about me? I'm in the same group as them."

He blinked and looked for wings but saw none. He asked, "Where are your wings then?"

Nymph frowned then said, "They were torn off alright? Just take the damn sample!"

The doctor nodded and took her sample then said, "I'm sorry to hear that, I bet they were beautiful."

Sohara said, "They were, they glowed like rainbows and were translucent."

The doctor compared the four samples in front of him, "Interesting...the three from these are vibrating the very containers themselves."

Tomoki asked, "What does that mean?"

The doctor said, "I am uncertain, but I will be running more tests on these samples. So how many of these girls live with you?"

Tomoki blushed and said, "Well, Ikaros and Nymph do, I suppose I will be taking Astrea in as well."

Astrea glared and said, "Like hell you will! You are my enemy, why would you take me in?"

Tomoki looked at her and then said, "Ikaros, help me up."

Ikaros knelt and helped Tomoki stand and walked over with him to Astrea who backed up.

Tomoki said, "To answer that question, I will ask you a question. Would you have me leave you with nowhere to go? On top of that, I doubt you could even cook eggs, let alone a full on meal. Also where would you sleep? How about keeping up your strength so you would even have the chance to take me down? Did you ever even think of these things? Also, would you really leave your target in a weakened state so that any regular person could finish him off when it is your job to do so?"

Astrea paled then said, "I...I'd think of something!"

Nymph chuckled and said, "You...think?"

Astrea glared at Nymph then said, "I would! I am not an idiot after all!"

Tomoki said, "You would be if you don't accept my offer for help Astrea. At least at my place, you'd have a warm bed to sleep in, meals and the ability to plan your next move."

Astrea huffed then said, "F-fine then, but don't think I'll go easy on you when you've recovered. Oh and we do not sleep, didn't anyone ever tell you that, you big dummy!" She turned and crossed her arms over her chest.

Tomoki reached out and stroked one of her wings and said, "You really do look like an angel, you know that right? Wait a minute, can't sleep? What are you talking about Astrea?"

Astrea flapped her wings then let them go to their full size and said, "Angeloids do not sleep. It is not in our programming to do so. We can lay down in beds and rest our bodies, but our consciousness does not fall into the sleeping pattern that downers do."

Tomoki said, "Don't mind her speech doctor, she-"

The doctor said, "Is not human, correct?"

Tomoki gaped while being supported by Ikaros and asked, "How did you know?"

The doctor said, "Even a child could figure it out Sakurai-San. That said, their secret is safe with me, however I should inform you Miss Astrea that killing someone is against the law."

Astrea huffed and said, "It is out of my hands!"

Tomoki said, "Don't worry doctor, we will solve this situation our way after I have recovered."

The doctor said, "Miss Astrea, I hope that you will reconsider what your objective is here. I'd hate to see a beautiful angel turn her hands red with the blood of the innocent."

Astrea flushed and said, "Sh-shut up all of you! Let's just get you home so we can eat that food already, I'm hungry!"

Tomoki looked at the doctor who said, "All of you save Sakurai-San are free to return home. I need to keep him here for a few days for observation."

Astrea said, "If he is not leaving, then I am not going anywhere."

The doctor said, "That is highly irregular. Normally we do not allow visitors to remain with a patient, especially members of the opposite gender."

Astrea stared right at him and said, "I-am-STAYING!"

Tomoki laughed for a moment and coughed as it hurt to laugh, then said, "Its fine Doctor, I'd welcome her company. Just promise you won't come after me in my sleep okay Astrea?"

Astrea glared and said, "I do not attack those who cannot defend themselves bug! Even if you were at full condition, while asleep you are helpless. It is dishonorable to attack when one is in a state such as that."

The group were led to the exit of the hospital. Nymph was the last one to leave, she actually stood on the step, almost frozen as if afraid to leave him there.

Sohara took her hand and whispered, "Come on Nymph, we have to trust the doctors."

Nymph whispered, "B-but I-"

Sohara said, "It is alright Nymph, I promise you he will be fine. You saved his life today."

A few days passed...

Tomoki had been released from the hospital and been brought back in a taxi by Astrea. She had helped him into the house and helped him to bed. After that, she never strayed from his side. Astrea placed a tray beside Tomoki who was sleeping. He had been sleeping since they had arrived back home and every day she had come in with a tray of food and water. She actually made him drink water by massaging his throat, forcing his body to activate the swallow mechanism. She did this repeatedly every single day for the next three days.

Ikaros watched carefully and thought, "It is odd how much care Astrea is taking into his recovery."

Nymph closed her book and asked, "May I ask what you are doing Delta?

Astrea said, "Duh, I need him back to health so when I do kill him, he is at full power."

Nymph laughed and said, "You sure it's not because you actually like him?"

Astrea flushed then said, "N-not in the slightest. Damn it Nymph, why are you even questioning me? You backstabbing Beta who ran from the Synapse at the first sign of danger."

Nymph asked, "Want to go? Maybe Ikaros can play with you for once Delta."

Astrea huffed and crossed her arms then said, "You know as well as I do that if I managed to get past her long range weapons, she'd stand no chance."

Nymph said, "Maybe so, but you'd never get close enough to do so."

Tomoki began to shake on the bed. Astrea, Nymph and Ikaros went to his side and watched in concern, even Astrea was concerned about this.

In Tomoki's dream...

The angeloid who had appeared to him regularly had returned. She stroked his hair and said, "Tomoki...I will save you, don't you worry about that...but something is coming. They have perfected her, the second generation Angeloid. She is coming for you and all you hold dear." She knelt and a golden light surrounded Tomoki, using Angeloid powers to heal his psyche. It would expedite his recovery faster than would normally be possible. She began to flicker then vanished in a flash of light.

In her chamber, the Angeloid awoke with a gasp and panted before she turned to her monitors and thought, "How did Minos do that? No, it cannot be..."

Tomoki slowly opened his eyes in the dream and sat up. He saw this strange girl in a robe. She didn't look any older than five years old, but something about her was off. He asked, "Are you lost little one?"

The girl asked, "What is love? Can you tell me?"

His eyes widened as he looked around him. Next to him was Nymph, a bloodstain on her chest, as though she had been pierced by a powerful weapon. He knelt by her side and shook her gently, "Nymph? Come on, this isn't funny!" He turned to his right and saw that Astrea was also out, stabbed through the chest. He then looked up and saw Ikaros flying through the sky. She landed with a mighty crash.

The girl smiled then said, "Come Ikaros...let's play...show me what love is!"

Ikaros' eyes went wide then she glanced around herself and saw that Nymph and Astrea were dead by her feet. She activated Uranus Queen mode instantly and her eyes flashed dangerously, "I do not know who you are, but you have harmed my friends. For that, you will die!" She charged towards the girl.

The girl laughed and began to dodge and flew into the air, much to Tomoki's dismay.

He called out, "Ikaros, be careful." He froze when he realized that Ikaros couldn't hear him. He looked to his right and saw Sohara dead right where he had been laying and as he moved towards her, he saw himself running towards her. His eyes went wide as the girl flew down and impaled him right before his eyes. He shook in terror as he saw his own body fall forward...dead. The Tomoki he saw was him and yet not him. He was aware of being himself in the dream, and yet he could see his own body in front of him.

Ikaros in the sky saw this and began to fire Artemis Missiles at a faster rate and pulled out the Apollon Bow. She fired, "Aegis extend!" The green shield surrounded the girl and and explosion ripped through the area. She sighed and was about to power down when she suddenly froze.

Tomoki looked up and called out, "Ikaros, watch out behind you!"

Through the dust of the explosion, the girl was unscathed. She asked, "Are you done Ikaros? I hope not, because I want to play some more, yes play more and more and more!" She lowered her hood and her wings that looked almost metallic in nature grew to an unimaginable size.

Ikaros called out the Hephestus to combat this new weapon.

The girl slammed her wing tips catching the arms of the Hephestus. Ikaros strained trying to hold back the attack, but the wing tips broke free and began to shatter one arm after another. She laughed, "Is that all you have Ikaros? No no no, this will not do, I need you to play with me more!" She charged towards Ikaros at full speed.

Ikaros disengaged it and activated Jet mode, but as she did so, the girl darted under the jet and stabbed Ikaros through the chest, causing her to crash into the ground right by Tomoki.

He fell to his knees and screamed in pure agony as he had just witnessed the loss of everything closest to him.

The girl landed by him and asked, "Well then...Tomoki...will you tell me what love is now? I could always end this right here and now." She caused the wing blade tip to charge through the air and stabbed him through the chest. In this dream he had seen everyone close to him die, his own self died. Finally he had seen the representation of his mind die.

At that moment Tomoki's eyes snapped open and he sat up with a scream that made Astrea, Nymph and Ikaros jump.

Ikaros asked, "Master? What is it?"

Tomoki's eyes were glazed and he stared at her, "Who...who are you...you can't be here, you're dead...we're all dead." He clapped his hand over his eyes as he shook in pure terror.

Ikaros said, "Astrea, go get Sohara, she's probably the only one who can snap him out of this. Something has happened to Master in his dream, and she knows more about those dreams than we do. Please Astrea!"

Astrea sighed and said, "Fine, but in return...when I do fight him, you will stay out of it, agreed?"

Ikaros said, "Alright, on one other condition, you do not use your sword or shield to fight him."

Astrea nodded then flew out of the house and over to Sohara's house. She explained what she had seen and Sohara immediately ran downstairs and next door. She had heard Tomoki's scream and was planning to come over anyways, but with Astrea's warning, she rushed even faster. She hadn't even changed out of her pajamas, she felt that was not important.

Sohara burst into the room and saw that Tomoki was in a horrific state. His eyes were bloodshot and glazed over and he was shaking like a leaf. She said, "Ikaros, go and get Sugata please. I will attempt to calm him down."

Tomoki looked around the room, his vision hazy due to the glaze and the remnants of the dream he had just experienced. His vision fell upon Sohara and he felt like he knew her.

She moved close to him and threw her arms around him and said, "It's okay Tomo, I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere."

Tomoki choked out, "So...ha...ra..." He started crying against her and held her tight to him. He shook as his vision began to return.

Ikaros flew to the door, carrying Sugata and the two rushed to his room.

Tomoki gasped, "Nymph...Ikaros...Astrea, where are they?"

Astrea said, "We are right here you dimwit!"

Tomoki looked at Astrea and grabbed her hand. Nymph took his other hand, "I'm here as well Tomoki, Ikaros is here, as is Sugata."

Sugata said, "Everyone out, NOW!" He pushed the Angeloids out, much to Ikaros' dismay. He then asked, "Sohara, leave us please. I did some research on his dream, and I think I have discovered something, but it is theoretical at best. I must speak with him alone."

Tomoki's hand shot out and grabbed Sohara's hand. He held her hand tight and looked at her with pleading eyes.

Sohara said, "Whatever you have to say, you say in front of me, and I will be telling them anyways, so you may as well let them back in Sugata."

Sugata paused then let the three Angeloids back into the room. He began to pace the room and said, "I do not have any definitive proof of what I am about to say to you all. Needless to say, this incident here, has caused me some great concern. The moment Ikaros came to me and explained, then brought me here, she was flying at mach 20 which enabled her to get back and forth nearly instantly. This shows me one thing, first that Ikaros is determined and that something is wrong, second the fact that he is reacting like this to a dream is not normal. If this were just a dream or even a nightmare of the most horrible sort, it wouldn't have that profound an impact." He looked at Tomoki and said, "It is my belief that your dream that is recurring is connected to a place within reality. I do not know where it is connected to, nor do I have proof of this, but you keep telling me about a winged girl in your dream. Please describe the dream."

Tomoki froze then said, "I...I can't, it was too horrible to recount."

Sugata said, "You must Tomoki..."

Tomoki said, "I...I just..." He looked at the Angeloids and Sohara then said, "It...involved a girl. She...was a young one and when I woke up in my dream, Nymph and Astrea were already dead. She kept asking me about what love was. Ikaros showed up and began to fight. I got away from where I had been laying to find that Sohara was dead beside me as well. While fighting Ikaros, this girl killed another version of myself and then finished off Ikaros herself. I don't know what she was...but she was powerful, too powerful. The winged girl told me a second generation was coming."

Astrea's eyes widened and turned away and whispered, "It cannot be, could it?"

Sugata watched Astrea carefully then said, "You know something, don't you Astrea?"

Astrea said, "It's not for downers to hear."

Sugata spun her around and slammed her into a wall and stared at her, his glasses reflecting the light from the rising sun. He said, "Spill it Angel girl, or we will see how you fare without the wings you love so much!"

She winced in pain and surprise that Sugata had this much strength. She tried to move, but found she was unable to. She asked, "How are you doing this?"

Sugata stared at her coldly and said, "I may be a "downer" as you so put it, but do not mistake me for weak Astrea. Human beings have incredible strength when pushed to the limit. You have just pushed me to that limit and are about to push me beyond it! Speak, what do you know girl!"

Tomoki coughed painfully and then shouted, "Leave her alone Sugata! If she cannot say, then she cannot say. Nymph...Ikaros, I want you and Sohara to remain with me at all times now, Astrea as well."

Ikaros asked, "Even with her as your enemy?"

Tomoki nodded and said, "The fact that Astrea was dead in that dream is significant somehow, which means that Astrea is this girl's enemy alongside the two of you. I don't want any of you to be away from me. If you go to the washroom, the group of you go all in together. Ikaros, I want you ready to activate Uranus Queen at a moment's notice and Nymph, I want your scanners constantly running from here on out. Even without your wings, you have the strongest sensors of all the Angeloids here. We need you Nymph!"

She flushed slightly and said, "R-really?"

Tomoki said, "Yes, really Nymph. I can't help feeling that dream was a warning. Something terrible is coming and we need to be ready!"

Astrea asked, "Hold on, why would I EVER help you? I am here to kill you downer and take these two back to my master. Why should I help you fight another Angeloid?"

Tomoki looked at her and said, "Because you owe me now Astrea. I stopped Sugata from ripping off those wings of yours and you are withholding knowledge. As for the knowledge, yes it would be helpful, but I won't force it out of you. The fact that I stopped him though obligates you to a debt of gratitude that you cannot ignore. I know you have a sense of honor."

Astrea huffed and said, "Fine, but once this Angeloid is stopped, my mission continues unimposed, unless my master gives me new orders."

Tomoki nodded and looked out the window. His eyes fell upon the calm countryside, but his eyes were still slightly glazed. They could see it in his eyes and in the very way he stood. Tomoki was afraid, and it was rare that he truly felt fear. He said, "Only by being ready and keeping our guards up will we be ready for anything coming. I hope we are all prepared."

Thus ends Chapter 3 - Delta Invasion. I will admit first hand, Astrea only had some roles in this chapter, but it was her introduction so I figured it only appropriate to call it her invasion. The next chapter is coming soon, for the first time in a long time, I am fired up to continue. Also as a side note, chapter four takes place really quickly in the timeline after chapter three, however chapter five will actually take place six months after the end of chapter four. The reason for this is to set up for chapter six which will focus on the christmas season for the Angeloids (that and the timing of certain plot points that take time to set into motion).

In the next two chapters, Sugata and Mikako are not present. This is not by accident, as readers will understand in chapter six when they return for Christmas.
