----The next night----

Kari was jumping from rooftop to rooftop as she kept watch on her patrol, an annoyed and angry look on her face.

Though only a day had passed since the invasion, much had happened.

According to contacts Eri had among intergalactic traders, the Dark World had erupted into civil war, with Charis’ siblings fighting each other over their lost brother’s domain, while the Hyperion Empire, much to the disappointment of the loyalist still on Earth, turned their attention to take as much of the fallen overlord’s territory for themselves as they could.

Not long after the fight, Davis found the others, much to Kari’s relief, after telling them he slipped out and found refuge once everyone else was enslaved.

The source of Kari’s anger, however, was that fact that the media was portraying Painz as the hero of the invasion, causing large support for the masked villain.

And despite Tai and other heroes and heroines talking to the media, trying to remind them of the evil Painz had done, the public still was calling him a hero, with some even demanding that the government gives him full control.

Releasing her anger, Kari landed on a roof, before hitting a wall with her fist and let out a growl.

How could people believe Painz to be a good guy?

She hated Painz for what he’s done, but more than anything, she hated him for threatening Davis.

Ever since that night, when she wouldn’t dream of her and Davis ‘expressing their love’ in various locations, ranging from her bedroom to them making love in the park, she had the occasional nightmare of the masked villain taking her love from her, and since them she vowed never to let that happen.

She then turned around, only for her eyes to widen in surprise at seeing Painz, back in his normal attire, staring out into the city, with his back to her and didn’t seem to notice, while Kari felt her anger grow, just as dark thoughts began to enter her mind.

He was right there; she could end his threat, his threat to Davis, right there.

People might judge her harshly but she didn’t care.

As she slowly made her way towards the masked villain, she relaxed her hands, letting her claws out and was about to strike.

However...

“We both know you don’t have that in you.” Paniz said without even looking at her, causing Kari to stop as she realized he did know she was there, before getting into a fighting stance.

“You think you got the whole world fooled but I see right through you. You only care about yourself.” Kari said, continuing to let her anger fill her being.

“On the contrary, I do care about this world. It needs strong leadership in order to survives, less we fall like we almost did ten years to the Hyperion, or yesterday with Charis,” Painz explained in reply.

“I don’t believe you! I won’t let you continue your evil ways; I won’t let you hurt Davis!” Kari screamed, letting her worst fear be known.

Kari’s eyes then narrowed as Painz let out a light chuckle, confusing the brunette.

“That would be impossible.” Paniz told Kari, who was still confused until she saw his hand move up and remove his mask, before he turned to her, which caused Kari’s eyes to widen in shock at seeing the face of the man she loved and adored.

Her emotions were conflicted with seeing that her boyfriend was also her arch nemesis.

“Why...?” Kari asked in disbelief, part of her hoping it was a disguise, a robotic duplicate or Davis under the control of one of Painz’s Spider-bots.

But looking at him, she knew it was no false Davis.

“You know why, you were there with me.” Davis then replied, making Kari’s eyes widen, remembering that day over ten years ago as she sat there and tried to comfort him over the bodies of his parents.

“We were left to die by a greedy politician, who used the tragedy he caused to make himself look like a hero. The entire world moved on like nothing happened, with the corrupt and weak in power. You, Tai, and the others, you want to protect the world but you don’t want it to change. Without that change our world will eventually die, by the Hyperion, by Charis, by any other threat out there that thinks Earth is an easy target.” Davis explained, surprised by Davis’ words, but listened to his reasoning, understanding him, but had to ask. “But what about the Shadowlord and Dark Heart?”

“I have plans for them.” Davis simply said, before he commented. “Besides, the Shadowlord, Firelord and Dark Heart and I are much alike. We only want order and to make sure those we care about are left unharmed in our new world.”

“You brainwashed us...” Kari then pointed out.

“I didn’t do anything to you that you didn’t want me to.” Davis replied with a smirk, making Kari’s face turn a light red.

“The threat...?” Kari then asked with teary eyes.

“I was asked to distract you guys, I didn’t mean anything by it, nor did I expect you to take it that seriously.” Davis replied.

“Of course I would, you mean everything to me!” Kari yelled back, surprising Davis.

“I wanted to be the one to make you smile, make you happy. I became a hero to protect you. But if this is the path you must walk...” Kari started to say, knowing what she had to do.

Davis closed his eyes, knowing the choice would most likely be her answer, until his eyes widened when she said. “Then please let me join you. Please let me stand by your side!”

After her plea, Kari then wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him, letting out her emotions as he wrapped his arms around her waist and deepened the kiss.

And after a few moments of sharing another loving kiss, Davis broke the kiss as he stared into Kari’s eyes, wiping a tear from her cheek, before deciding to reveal the truth.

“It’s time for the shadow to come out of the light.” He whispered into Kari’s ear.

And with that command, a switch went off in Kari’s mind, where everything she did while serving Davis came to her, her Katastrophe persona, serving Davis, the nights of pleasure, asking him if she could kill and him stopping her, and finally her asking for him to tell her.

And with the reveal that Davis had already accepted her, both as his love and the woman he wished to conquer Odaiba with, Kari’s smile grew, before she embraced the dark feeling inside of her and gave her beloved Master a more passionate kiss, looking forward to their first night together having evil sex, as well as seeing the next plans Davis had for the world.
