Riku slowly ate her dinner she was feeling terrible. She woke in her bed the next morning to an alarm. She hit it but the alarm kept up. She opened her eyes to see a screen floating in front of her. She touched it and the alarm went off. She quickly got into her blue school uniform she went to a different school than Matt and hated it. She grabbed Terriermon and left her room and walked to the living room/kitchen.
"Check it out." Matt said, pointing at the tv. He was on his cell phone. He then went back to his call. "Yeah, I know. Will you do it? Thanks you're the best."
"Last nights attack was a promotion to launch the Digimon Digital Monster Video Game." It was the woman who'd driven them home. "But this is a warning these Infected Digimon are very real and do cross over into our world. The Tamers you see in the film are the only ones who can deal with this threat......."
Riku walked to the table just as Matt hung his phone up they shared a brief and chaste kiss good morning as Hiroaki had just entered the room. They all quickly ate breakfast. Riku did the dishes with Terriermon.
Dishwashing-1
"What's this?" Terriermon wondered.
"I don't know." Riku said, when they finished and she put Riku on her shoulder. "Lets go to school."
Joe's friends wondered why Joe was standing at the gate looking at his watch and holding a stuffed animal in one arm.
"Gomamon, Matt did say Riku-san and Terriermon-san came to our school didn't he?" Joe aked, his digimon. The animal everyone thought was stuffed.
"That's what he said." Gomamon confirmed.
"and that she'd be here an hour before the start of school?" Joe pushed further.
"That's right."
"She might have gotten lost." Joe muttered and clenched his teeth he brought his watch up. "Uh....Minimap ." A 3-D image of Odiba shot up above his watch. "Locate Riku-san."
Invalid command.
"Locate Loyalty." Gomamon told the watch.
The minimap lit up a silver dot three blocks away.
"AI person what do I call you?" Joe deadpanned.
I am Kali
"Okay, Kali, Change Loyalty to Riku-san."
Change complete. All Tamers are locked in by their name.
"Kali, call Riku-san."
Call being placed.
Another screen shot up showing Riku when she answered.
"I'm Kido Joe, are you lost?"
"Yes."
"Please follow my directions." Joe told her.
It didn't take long for Riku and Terriermon to reach Joe when he'd given her directions.
"Thank you, Joe-san." She said bowing to him.
"No problem." Joe said, waving his hand at her. "Do you know what class you're in? This'll be my third year here so I know my way around."
"Ah......yes." Riku replied. "10A."
"Great I know exactly where that class is. " Joe told her.
Gomamon greeted them and then Joe lead them on a tour of the school and grounds before showing her to class and talking to the teacher on her behalf. It was the first day of school so he didn't think that she and Terriermon would have many problems. He and Gomamon said goodbye to Riku and Terriermon.
Terriermon jumped onto the desk and looked out the window they were sitting next to in the back of the classroom.
"Wow, Riku, do you go to a rich school?" Terriermon wondered. "Is this like our school in Korea?"
"Yes," Riku replied. "An Elite school. My parents enrolled me here when they heard that we were moving back to Japan."
"The grounds look so cool!" Terriermon said, hyperly. "I wonder if they have a nice music room for you to play in?"
Riku blushed people were watching them. She noticed watches that looked like hers but they didn't have colored bands.
"Kali, send message to Matt and Gabumon." Riku said, bringing her watch close to her mouth. " 'Reached school fine. Joe-san showed me around and got me to class.' Send."
Matt, Sora, Tai, Mimi and Izzy were talking in the hall with their Digimon in their arm when the message came in.
I am Kali your Digital AI.
Matt you have a message from Riku.
"Please, play it." Matt said, instantly.
"Reached school fine. Joe-san showed me around and got me to class."
Riku's voice said, from Matt's watch.
Matt sighed in relief.
"Good old Joe." he said, with a smile. "You can always count on him."
"Oh, does Riku-chan go to Joe's school?" Mimi huffed, "I was hoping she came to ours."
"Yeah, me too." Sora lied, but sweetly.
"No, her parents are apparently very rich and even though she doesn't live with them they still send her to the best schools." Matt informed. "Listen, she doesn't like talking about her family, so keep a lid on it, okay?"
"Yeah, sure." Tai agreed. "Is she okay, after lasts night battle? She looked really pale?"
"She had a fever this morning." Matt sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "But, she didn't want to miss school so I let her go. Dad wanted her to stay home with Terriermon and Gabumon too but she assured us she'd be okay. I asked Joe and Gomamon to watch over her for me. She's got some health problems and her body isn't very strong."
They talked some more before going to their classes.
T.K. and Patamon met Kari and Gatomon in their class.
"Hey." He said, to her smiling. He cocked an eyebrow as Davis rushed in with Veemon. "You too, Davis?"
"I'm not a Tamer like you guys." Davis shrugged, looking at his watch. "No, I picked up this as part of the new Video Game we all did. Ken and Yolei were talking about taking them apart to see how they worked. Anyway this morning we all woke up to find our Digimon in our rooms. Ken called to say that he's got Wormmon as well, and I heard from some of the other Digidestined via e-mail they've got their digimon as well. What's going on?"
"No, idea." T.K. and Kari chorused as the three Digimon talked happily. "The eight of us and Matt's girlfriend Riku-san who was a Digidestiend too, were suddenly made Tamers and got our digimon. We're really happy to see them of course."
"But we're worried about the danger to the people." Kari sighed.
They talked until the class began.
Riku walked into her last class of the day to see Joe and Gomamon. This was a study hall. She ran over to them Terriermon in her arms. She sat in the seat in front of Joe and turned to him. She was about to talk when a boy walked up.
"Hey, Kido you play Digimon too?" he asked, Joe looked up and reached out to pet Gomamon. He caught sight of the boys watch. T.K. had called everyone to tell them about the Game watches. "Come on lets duel."
"I'd rather study." Joe replied.
"Then how about I duel your little girlfriend here."
Riku let out a noise as the boy grabbed her chin.
"Let her go!" Joe, Gomamon and Terriermon demanded.
"You want to duel then we'll take you!" Joe said, standing up and slamming his hands on his desk.
"Joe-san." Riku said, worriedly.
"Don't worry, Gomamon and I have this." Joe told her with a smile. He stood across from the other boys with Gomamon on his shoulder. "This'll be my first battle so tell me what I have to do, Kali."
"Who?" the boy laughed.
First you draw seven cards into your hand. You only have 3.
His cards appeared over his watch he looked at them. Pichimon Digivolution and Digichrome horn. He could win with these.
Call heads or tails
"Heads." Joe chose as a coin flipped between them.
Heads choose to go first or second.
"Second." Joe decided.
"Stupid!' The boy roared with laughter. "I play Zerimon!"
"eh?" Riku said, "Joe, that's Terriermon's Fresh form."
Joe nodded.
Select a Digimon to play.
"I play Pichimon!" Joe said, touching the card.
The card glew became data, Gomamon glew became data and flew to the grid and became Pichimon.
"He's not going to like that." Joe sighed, shaking his head.
You can now move to Battle Mode. This mode allows you to use your battle cards and Digivolution cards.
Joe studied the field.
You can not use a Digivolution card and Battle Card on the same turn.
"Digimodify." Joe said, fixing his glasses. "Digivolution, Activate!'
"What?!" The boy cried, "Where'd you get that card?!"
"Pichimon, digivolve to Bukamon!" Bukamon cheered. "You're in for it now. What did you think you were doing challenging a real Tamer and his digimon."
"Bukamon, don't get cocky." Joe ordered.
The boy was shaking in rage.
"You'll pay for this!" the boy yelled. "I play Sharp Claw! Now, Zerimon attack!"
"Aren't you suppsed to tell us what the card does?" Joe asked as Bukamon dodged. "Good job, Bukamon." Joe checked his battle screen Sharp Claw didn't seem to do anything. "Bukamon, he's made a mistake. Sharp Claw doesn't work on his digimon. Whatever it does wont effect us if we attack."
"Right." Bukamon grinned, evily.
"WHAT?" The boy raged.
"My turn." Joe stated, "Digimodify! Digichrome Horn Activate! Digichrome Horn raises Bukamon's attack by +2. Bukamon, Bubble blow!"
"Bubble Blow!"
Bukamon's bubbles made the Zerimon cry out and it's data waver.
"Zerimon, Bubble Blow!"
Bukamon didn't even flinch as he took the hit.
"Bukamon, Bubble Blow." Joe ordered.
Zerimon burst into data that flew into Bukamon. Bukamon reformed in to Gomamon and landed on Joe's shoulder.
You have won Sharp Claw!
You have data to improve Pichimon's card.
"Whoa, " Kids around the room were saying. "Joe, actually won."
"Now what does Sharp Claw do?" Joe wondered tapping the card. "Ah, it rasies the attack of monsters that have claws by +2. This'll come in handy. Good job, Gomamon, I have an apple in my backpack."
"YAY!" Gomamon jumped on to the desk and all but crawled into Joe's backpack to get the apple.
"As Gomamon said, I'm a real Digimon Tamer." Joe informed the class. "It was highly unlikely that you would have defeated Gomamon and I as we have a lot of experiance in battle."
A girl giggled and came up to kiss Joe's cheek.
Riku knew her as her older sister.
"Sorry abou that, are you okay, Riku-san?" Joe asked
Riku bowed.
"Yes, thank you, Joe-san."
"Riku-san?" Joe's girlfriend asked.
"Sei-chan." Riku said, not meeting her older sister's eyes.
"You two know each other?" Joe asked. "Sei-chan?"
"Yes, sorry, Joe-chan." Sei smiled. "Riku-chan, is my little sister. How do you two know each other?"
"Riku is a Digimon Tamer like me." Joe said, fishing Gomamon out of his backpack. Gomamon had gotten stuck in the small bag. "She's my friend Matt's girlfriend as well. He asked me to keep an eye on her. She's a sweet kid."
Riku blushed.
"Anyway, Sei-chan. This is my best friend Gomamon." Joe said, holding him up. "Gomamon this is Takashi Seichi my girlfriend."
"Nice to meet you!" Gomamon said, taking Sei-chan's hand in his paws and shaking it after bowing.
"Yes, nice to meet you, Gomamon." Sei-chan giggled. "Joe talks about you all the time so it's like I already know you. He's talked about you non-stop since he was 12."
Joe laughed, blushing and rubbing the back of his head.
Gomamon was thrilled.
"Riku-chan?" Sei-chan asked softly, bending down to her. Rikku wouldn't look at her. "Can you introduce me to your friend please?"
Riku shook her head.
"I'm Terriermon." Terriermon said, loudly. "I'm Riku's partner Digimon."
"Nice to meet you." Sei-chan said, shaking Terrerimon's paw. "Please take care of Riku-chan."
"Yep, sure will!" Terriermon cheered.
Joe smiled and filed this information away for later he wondered if Matt knew.
