The girls chuckled as they continued to decide where they would like to eat. Samantha looked over at Beth and laughed even harder “those guys are on something maybe?” “Yea.” replied Beth “you heard him, our fine asses.” “Right.” said Samantha, rolling her eyes. “Sometimes I wonder how we got so lucky with those two. But then I didn't care.” she laughed. Beth looked at her confused. “What do you mean, Sam?” she asked. “You mean those men right over there right? And how we got so lucky? no little sister.” she said, smiling at her. “they got lucky.” “I know you and josh have been having issues, maybe this is just what he needs to see you are still amazing, Beth.” Samantha interrupted. “I-i don't know what you think, no.” said Beth stopping Samantha in a stern whisper. “You cant fool me, I'm your big fucking sister. I know what I know. That and my husband is Ryan, remember? So listen to me. Your fucking amazing, he is lucky to you know. And we are going to have an amazing trip and you guys will be fine ok. Beth pulled Samantha in hugging her tight, as the other two continued to joke around in the background. I love you Samantha, just trust me ok. This trip will be for the best, you'll see. I just don't want him to leave again, like when he and Ryan just stopped talking to us in high school. They didn't talk to anyone, it was just them two the entire time. Samantha muttering to herself. Beth lent in more, so close that her breasts were engulfing Samantha's entire arm by now. Listen Samantha, she whispered in her ear, her mouth soaked and about to drip. The only thing you should be worried about at this moment is my stomach, cuz otherwise I will start eating flesh. Beth grabbed Samantha by the face, pulling her gaze up. I need food little sister, do you want me to die? Samantha looked deep into Beth's eyes, hesitating for a moment then shoving her off. Oh my god Beth, don't be a baby, i already spotted where we are going to eat, I swear she said looking and smiling at Beth, you can be so intense sometimes you know. Beth laughed, scooting off Samantha giving her arm time to breath. look don't worry about high school. Ryan said it was them taking time to help Josh over his stuff. I mean look at what he went through. I think you and I would have done the same thing, or at least I hope we would have. Beth said encouragingly, you know, get yourself right before you involve someone else, kind of deal. So now, back to what matters Beth said slowly as she looked at her sister. My food. hey drive, pull over here please, Samantha yelled over everyone's chatter in the cab. See Beth, what did I tell you? I would get you something nice right. Well here we are, Lagz restaurant and bar, I know you will love it, Samantha said. I did some looking on google maps before we left, she chuckled. Beth looked at the place for a moment then back at her sister, her blank expression slowly turning into excitement, oh i can't wait to get inside she said pulling at Ryan to hurry along and pay the cab driver. Ryan chuckled signaling for Beth to calm her jets. he and josh were caught up in small talk with the cab driver at the moment, Beth gave a puppy dog look and told Ryan her and Samantha would meet them inside. lets go sis, these guys are busy being social Beth said as she locked arms with Samantha. Yea, agreed Samantha, i would much rather go eat and focus on food vs the fact josh wont tell me things like Ryan seems to tell you she chuckled softly, not really meaning it as a joke, just trying to pass it off as one.Beth chuckled as she pulled out a purple velvet bag with a tie string. “I'll show you what Ryan didn’t tell Josh, if it helps make you feel better.” she said as she waved the bag in front of Samantha. “What is that?” she asked “Beth, let me see, come on.” she asked as she went to grab it, Beth pulled it back then handed it over. Samantha opened the bag reaching in for what was inside, Beth quickly cupped her hands over Samantha's and whispered “no, don't open it here, dork. Look at it later or in the bathroom, silly.” “what ? why?” Samantha asked, confused. “just do it, you big baby.” Beth urged, “here, I'll get us seats, you can use the restroom.” she said, hinting with her quoting fingers. Just then the guys came from behind still laughing from there mingling with the cab driver. “What did we miss babe?” Asked Ryan as he placed his arm over Beth's shoulder. “Not much. Samantha's going to find a restroom while we get seats.” Beth said as she walked forward to approach the waitress, waiting to seat them. “Hello my name is Charlotte, and I’ll be your waitress this evening. Please follow me this way, and I'll help you get seated.” she said with a gentle smile on her face. While Beth and the others continued to their seat, Samantha was in the stall looking at what she held in her hands. “What was Beth thinking?” she thought to herself. “She knows I would never do anything like this. Maybe she is right, I’m proud. Maybe if we eat these shrooms, Josh will have more fun than he normally would. Magic mushrooms I think they called them in school.” she told herself. “They don't look like magic, let alone feel like it, they seem rough and not colorful at the least. Some girls started laughing and one fell into the door of Samantha's stall, scaring her and making her hurry to put them away. “That was close.” she thought “i almost dropped them in the toilet, I could see it now. ‘Why are they wet?’ Sam would ask, ‘Oh no reason Beth. I just thought I would wash them.’ wash them she would say, then probably call me a newbie. I better get out there before she comes in after me.” she chuckled as she headed to wash her hands then go find the rest of her party. “Samantha!” Josh yelled as he waved his arms. “over here, love. Come sit with me!” Samantha walked over to him and took a seat next to him at the bar. “Where is everyone else?” Samantha asked, looking around. “They are over there.” Josh said, as he pointed to the far corner of the restaurant. “I just thought I would get us some drinks, since we are taking a cab and all, what would you like?” he asked. “Oh, um-” Samantha paused as she thought to herself. “well, how about just a tall crown and coke?” she said “and maybe get Beth the same thing, if that's ok.” “Yea sure, anything you want baby.” Josh said as he leaned in, kissing Samantha. Just then, Charlotte came by asking to take Josh’s order. “what can I get you, sir?” she said with the same polite smile. “Yes I would like a glass of Rum, hold the rocks, two tall crowns and Cokes, and a Whiskey, hold the rocks please. And that will be all. also, do you know how long till our food is ready?” He asked “Yes sir, it should be 15 more minutes.” she answered as she began making the drinks. “Here Samantha,” Josh said, handing her two drinks. “why don't you go get Beth hers and have a seat, I'll be there as soon as mine and Ryan's are done.” Samantha headed over, sitting next to Beth and handing her the drink. Samantha leaned into Beth and whispered in her ear, “you know, I don't know if we can get josh to take these, you know how he feels about drugs.” Beth. “Drugs?” Beth said sarcastically “these are mushrooms Sam, they grow out of like, poop and shit. They are all natural, just like grass and cilantro.” “Cilantro, Beth?” Samantha asked, looking at her with a shifty look now. “I don't think it's the same.” she said, laughing lowly. “Look Sam,” Beth said. “you sit on him and I'll force it in his mouth, then bam. He didn't take it, we forced him to.” she said with a sinister laugh. Samantha began to really laugh at this point. “Oh my Beth, yes that sounds like a much better answer for sure, we will force him into something he doesn’t want.” “Yea, now you got it Sam, peer pressure or whatever. It will be fine. besides, Ryan said he thinks Josh will do it for sure, so don't worry about it.” Just then Josh was handing Ryan his drink and they were both looking at the girls with a confused look. Ryan whispered over to Josh “women, more and more strange everyday….cost more too.” he chuckled. “Yes,” said Josh “but they are nice to look at and smell.” he said. “Besides that, these two do seem to remember how to have a good time.” The group had sat there enjoying their meal, when they heard a loud crash outside followed by maniacal screaming. “What-what's going on?” Samantha asked, trying to look over Beth who was towering by the window. “It looks like a car crash.” answered Ryan who was standing next to Beth. “Oh no, it's our waitress.” said Josh. Just then Beth ran out the door, “stay here!” she yelled to Samantha as she headed out the door. “No, Beth, wait!” called Ryan after her. “Samantha we should stay here, let Beth go, her and that girl got talking a lot, but there is no reason you should have to go out there and see anything.” Josh said as he pulled Samantha into his chest. “Oh my god, oh my god.” repeated Beth as she approached Charlotte, “Ryan we have to do something, call the police!” she cried “I am!” he said as he bent down next to her, already on his phone. “Please Charlotte, hold on, help is on the way!” cried Beth, as she pulled the waitress up on her lap. Charlotte began to cough blood and cried out in pain as Beth moved her head onto her lap. “P-p-please.” she choked out. “Can you save my friend?” she asked, looking up at Beth, trying to see her through the blood that was flooding her eyesight. “T-take her please, it was all my fault, I should have left her at home.” she continued as she wheezed even louder now. Beth looked around confused, “no ones here.” she said, “who's your friend? I'll take care of her, I promise. Just hold on please. You have to go home, rember?” she asked. “Your little brother needs you. If you die, he will be all alone. Please Charlotte, hold on.” Just then Charlotte’s arms fell to the ground revealing a small bunny rabbit in her arms. It was trembling and covered in Charlotte's blood. Just then the ambulance had arrived. Samantha and Josh had made their way outside, standing and watching from the side lines. Samantha was crying into Josh’s chest and Ryan was trying to get the paramedics to hurry along. Beth reached over for the poor little bunny and pulled it in close. With her remaining free hand she gently lifted Charlotte's head off her and onto the Jacket Ryan had placed on the ground next to her. Beth slowly stood up with tears in her eyes and her hands shaking, covered in the blood of the new friend she had just made. And even possibly just lost. Beth took a step back and stood next to her family as the paramedics rushed over to the waitress. “She still has a pulse!” one yelled to the other “its weak but its there, we need to move now!” “We're losing her!” Beth could hear one yell to the other, as they closed the doors to the Ambulance car. “NOOO!” Cried Beth as they pulled away. “No, she can't die, Ryan. Her little brother just lost his parents in a bank robbery, she is all he has. “I know, I know honey, I'm so sorry. I'll find out where they are taking her, then I'll leave our information with her boss, and we will pay for her medical bills if she lives, ok? and if not, we can at least try and help her brother, ok?” Ryan said as he grabbed Beth by the face looking deep into her tearful eyes. “This was tragic Beth, but good can still come from it. You have to trust she will be strong for her brother. You should be strong for her as well. We will do everything we can, ok? But at this moment, we can't do anything but leave our contact information and call in a few hours to the hospital, ok?” He then pulled Beth and the bunny she still had in her arms to his chest, giving them both a big hug and kissing Beth on the top of her head. “Oh, Beth,” said Samantha as she placed her hand down on Beth's back, “I'm so sorry. Maybe we should get out of here for now.” she suggested. “Wait, what's that you're holding?” she asked, looking at the bunny in Beth's arms. “Its baby charlotte.” Beth replied “well I mean, I don't know her name. So I'm just going to call her baby Charlotte for now, till I can give her back and find out her true name.” “That's a lovely idea Beth.” Samantha said petting the little bunny “looks like we should give her a bath before we give her back, what do you think?” she asked Beth, looking at her with a sympathetic grin on her face. “Yes.” Beth agreed “I suppose we should get going, and then once we are at the cabin, I can give her a bath.”
on a journey of their own to get to the cottage, Tina, Shay and Samuel had finally made their way to their rental car and were headed out and on their way. At some point, Samuel had forgotten to check the gas tank, which wound up leaving them on the side of the road in the middle of the night. “It's cold.” whined Tina as she cuddled up to Shay. “how could you not notice the fuel light, Sammy boy?” she said, glaring at Samuel as if to say, ‘I better get warm soon or you will see a real beast.’ “It's not my fault!” Samuel protested, “it's the car, it didn't tell me it was in need of fuel, I swear. The light never went off, not till the very last moment! stupid car.” he said as he kicked the door. “oof! ow!” He yelled grabbing his foot and limping, why you stupid piece of- he yelled harder as he went to punch the car door. “OW!” He yelled, even louder now, hopping on one foot and holding his hand. “T-t-too bad we don't have popcorn huh Tina? then we would be warm and have a show.” shay chuckled as she reached out to pull on Samuels shirt sleeve. “Can you please stop the war on the vehicle, Samuel?” she asked. “It's cold and we should be no more than 20 minute away on foot. if we follow the road we will get there.” “No.” he said. “It will take too long. It's getting colder out by the second and Tina will kill me if she freezes to death. I think I can get us there faster, I have the map and compass. If we cut through the woods we will make it there in 10 minutes, maybe 15.” Samuel said as he tried peering into the dark forest. “really?” Tina said, not pleased with his ruling. “I don't think venturing into that death trap late at night is a good idea.” she proclaimed. “Maybe the smart thing to do is just walk on the road.” “No, it's fine, tina.” Samuel said with confidence “I was a boy scout for 4 years. That, and I'm a professor, remember? I know what I'm doing. Now, chop chop.” he said as he led the way into the dark, creepy forest. As time passed, and they were still in the middle of the forest, the girls began to think maybe Samuel had no clue what he was doing after all. “Uh, hey, Sammy boy?” Tina said, shivering. “I think you're lost, I mean, we have been on foot for about 25 minutes, this isn't feeling like a shortcut.” She said as she and Shay tip-toed over the branches and rocks. “Yea Samuel,” Shay started in “I just wanna sit and rest now. please. We have been at this for far too long. Just a little more this way.” Samuel said slowly “oh no wait, I mean this way.” “Ah, here we go.” he continued. “You found it?” Shay burst out with excitement. “Don't get too happy, shay, you really think he could find it?” she chuckled. “well, I mean-” stammered shay. “If he can find fossils, he can find a cottage above ground, right? If he did, then it would just prove my point from before, shay. all that man finds is luck.” she said, making both her and Shay laugh. “You know,” interrupted Samuel. “One of you fine ladies is more than welcome to take the lead, if you would like.” The girls laughed and got quiet. “No doctor, you're the boss here who knows how to get us there, remember?” Tina said sarcastically. “Well actually,” Shay added. “I did spend most of my summers here, I could try and get us there if you want Samuel.” “no, no. I swear.” Samuel proclaimed “we will be there in like….an hour, and if not then you can take over.” The girls moaned. “What? An hour!” Tina yelled. “We should have stayed on the road, we're going to die out here!” she whined. “He's going to keep leading even if we get more lost.” she said, looking down at the ground with the biggest puppy dog face you have ever seen. As Samuel and his friends grew increasingly concerned with the lack of shelter as the night grew colder, Preston was making his way there as well. Preston had fallen asleep in the cab, and was having yet another bad dream as he surfed through his memories, when the cab hit a bump waking him up. Preston looked at the time and was instantly irritated, he wondered how far off the drive had gone and why they had not arrived yet. “I knew he was going the wrong way, that idiot.” he muttered to himself. “Hey driver.” he said, raising his voice, “you need me to take over? You know, since you seem to be lost, or at least running up the meter? Cuz it seems to me like you can't handle a simple ass job where you have a GPS telling you where to go.” “N-no sir, I'm so sorry, sir, its not working, the GPS. I think it's the trees and the mountains.” the cab driver stuttered. “Look, I don't care, ok?” Preston sighed as he leaned back into his seat. “just-just get me there or let me drive, Ok?” “y-y-yes sir.” stammered the cab driver as he continued on the road. Picking up his cell phone, Preston looked at his call log, debating if he should try the professor once more. ‘Fuck it.’ he thought. ‘I'm calling him now.’ The phone rang and rang and rang before finally reaching the voicemail. Frustrated, Preston said into the phone “look professor, I can't wait any longer, I'm coming to you. Please don't ask how I know where you are or where you're headed, just know that you are the only one who can help me before it's too late.” Preston hung the phone up. ``Doesn't that man ever work?’ he thought to himself, putting his phone in his pocket. Preston stared out the window, submerging himself into yet another memory.
A tiny little voice broke through his thoughts. ”promise you won't let them get me too, Preston. please. I'm so frightened…” Heather said as she hugged her brother even tighter. “I promise Heather, I love you and I am your big brother, it's just us now, and I'm not going to let anything happen to you. But I need you to stay here and stay calm, ok?” Preston said as he pulled his little sister's hand off his shirt. “Bu-but, mommy and daddy” she whimpered to herself. Looking up at her big brother as she wiped her tears “i want mama and papa.” she pleaded. “We're never going to see them again are we? Are we going to die too?” she cried. “no-no, just calm down, ok? I have to get something, stay here and be quiet, I think I heard something outside the door. I'm going to go look, sit tight.” Preston said sternly. As Preston got closer to the door he could hear a low growl, getting louder and louder till finally he could make out what was being said. Just as he heard the demonic voice yell out “MINE!” He then heard his sister screaming to him that something had her leg. “NOOOOOO!” She yelled, “PRESTON HEEEELP!” “Heather no!” Preston yelled, darting across the room and jumping over the bed to grab her. “NO!” he shouted even louder as the cab hit another bump waking him once again. He shook his head, and shot the cab driver a look through the rearview mirror. His thoughts instantly started back up. ‘No matter how much farther I get from home’ he thought. ‘I can still feel something coming closer.’ Making him think back to his brother, when he left John tied up in the closet. ‘Maybe if i had hid him better…’ he thought ‘maybe if we all just hid better. Just glad it was him who had found their brother and not heather. Just glad she didn't have to see that before she died as well.’ “Hey driver, how long till we get there?” Preston asked, looking back at the time. “We are less than an hour out sir, sorry about the delay. I'll make sure to compensate you for my mistakes with the GPS. we should make it before the storm that's browning hits sir.” The driver said, shooting a smile back at Preston. “That's fine.” Preston sighed “nothing I haven't seen before.” “Yes sir, sure thing.” replied the cab driver. “By the way sir, forgive me for asking but, are you alright? It sounded like you were being attacked in your sleep.” Preston looked at the driver through the mirror “well, it's just,” the cab driver continued, “I know some healthy remedies for you, if you would like.” “Do you always ask your clients for such personal information?” Preston said, glaring at the driver. “O-oh of course sir, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offended.” “Yeah, well.” Said Preston “just drive, it's better for everyone that way.” “Y-yes sir.” Replied the cab driving looking back at the road in a hurry, trying to break the eye contact that now felt unbearable. At that very moment, Beth, Samantha and the guys had finally arrived at the cottage. “Let's head upstairs Beth, We can give this cute little guy a bath.” Samantha said as she scratched behind the bunnies ears. “Sounds good to me.” Beth replied. “Then maybe some more food, I'm starving. we didn't really eat much at the restaurant.” “That's true.” said Samantha. “It's ok girls.” Ryan said, breaking into their conversation, “I am prepared to make us a wonderful barbeque dinner by the star lit sky.” he said, trying to sound dreamy and nailing it on the head. “You girls head up, I'll grab the bags.” Josh told them “why don't you give your little friend that bath, I'm sure baby Charlotte would love that.” The girls hurried inside and up the stairs to the first room they came across. “Here Sam.” Beth said, pulling her into the bathroom. “Will you get the water ready while I get a towel?” she asked “Sure thing Beth.” Samantha said as she drew the warm bath. “Ok little miss.” Beth said, holding the bunny above her face, looking into its scared eyes. “I know you had a really bad night, and I hope that the next day will be better, so for now let me help you and get you all cleaned up, then we can call and check on your friend in the hospital, ok?” She said, trying to comfort the bunny. The rabbit turned its head and opened its eyes, almost like it was saying thank you. The girls then proceeded to wash the rabbit. Meanwhile , outside Josh and Ryan were already starting the barbeque and having a cold beer. “Man this is beautiful.” Josh said, looking at the sky. “Too bad our ‘A’ list friends couldn't have joined us temporarily.” Ryan laughed. “Yeah, I guess. I'm looking forward to it just being us though, but since you brought it up. You know a new spot might be a good idea. Change routine a little, help shake the fed that's sniffing around us.” “Are you crazy?” Josh broke in. “what we have works, that's why she hasn't been able to pin shit on us yet. Moving to a new place and working out the details will draw too much attention our way. If we did it sooner, sure maybe. But we can't do it now Ryan, you have to know that.” “Oh come on now little brother.” Ryan said, putting his hand on Josh's shoulder. “You mean to tell me, you don't think some hiker, kid, ranger or who knows will come across it sooner or later? There are only so many places left not ventured to. People get bored and will come across our spot soon enough. I'm just saying, maybe you should think about it. That's life, if not death row for us both if we get caught.” “Look.” said Josh “As long as we do it safely Ryan, we stay safe, that's what you said, remember? That's why I suggest we look into the areas we want for a little while, not just pick up and go. We take our time and stay safe, but still look for a new place, otherwise we will get caught, said Ryan as he moved closer to the grill to flip the burgers. Yeah, well… you're the boss, Josh said a little down. Whatever you say we will do. There you go Josh, Ryan said turning to him with a big smile, just trust me, I'm older and wiser anyways, they both laughed. Around that time, Beth and Samantha had just finished drying the little rabbit and began unpacking their things. Hey Samantha, asked Beth, can you hand me my big purple dildo please, it's just right over there she said pointing just passed Samantha, what ew no! Samantha yelled, unintentionally looking for it. Beth burst out in laughter, god you prude, i'm just kidding she laughed, no but really, i do need that purple bag by your fat ass. Samantha chuckled, grabbing the bag from under the rabbit who had decided that mushrooms were the best spot to sleep. Do you really think we can get Josh to take some of these, she asked, handing over her bag. He has no choice in the matter, she laughed. We are going to have an amazing night, she said and I'm not letting anyone ruin it. Just then Beth heard a faint laugh, hahaha, your death it whispered, wh-what? Did you hear that, she asked looking around the room then to Samantha.
“oh-um, never mind.” Beth chuckled “just the wind I suppose. I'll be right back, I have to use the restroom.” she said as she headed into the bathroom, quickly closing the door behind her. “Ok.” mumbled Samantha, “well hurry up before I take your clothes!” she yelled through the door, looking to get a rise out of Beth. Beth smiled to herself, “why? So you can look like a kid wearing bigfoot clothes!” she yelled back through the door. Beth was 6ft tall and Samantha was only 5’6, so she would have been swimming in her sister's clothes. Samantha laughed. “You're just butthurt because my boobs are better than yours, now hurry up and get out here.” She teased Beth through the door. “Haha.” Beth laughed “you wish. My boobs are grade A meat, sister. Now shut up so I can piss in peace.” Beth sat on the ground next to the tub, worried about the voices she was still hearing, and wondering how she would tell Samantha and Ryan. ‘Am I losing my mind all together?’ she worried. She has always heard voices, unlike Samantha, who seemed to never have anything wrong. Beth looked up onto the counter, getting to her feet, she opened her purse and pulled out her pill bottle, shaking three tablets into her hand as fast as she could. She tossed the pills in her mouth and bent over to the faucet for a drink to help wash them down. Beth had completely missed the demonic figure standing behind her in the mirror, looking as if it was trying to reach for her hair. Beth swallowed her pills and stood back up as the figure vanished from behind her. ‘Maybe I should just tell Samantha.’ She thought. ‘but then again maybe not, i don't want to mess her up. that poor thing, feels anyone's pain. I think I'll just keep it to myself a little longer.’ she decided. “Hey big foot.” Samantha's voice said, breaking Beth's deep thoughts. “Are you coming back out, or do you need more time alone?” she said, making it seem as if Beth was playing with herself. Samantha chuckled to herself “and she says i'm not funny anymore, that was down right hilarious.” she said congratulating herself on what she thought was a snappy diss. Beth came out of the bathroom ready to tackle Samantha to the ground when she heard it again. A whisper saying to her, “going to your death.” Then it was followed by a loud scream “TURN AROUND!” Beth became frozen, she couldn't move if she wanted to, she looked at Samantha, who was looking at Beth, confused, and slightly worried. “Beth, are you ok?” Samantha asked. “Sa-Samantha.” Beth whispered with her trembling voice “did you hear that?” Samantha, now even more concerned for her big sister, stood up and began heading closer to her. She reached her arms out and pulled Beth's face up so she could look at her better. “Oh my god Beth, are you ok? What's the matter?” She asked, starting to panic. “Your shaking, your as pale as a fucking ghost, Beth.” Samantha began to yell, “what the fuck happened Beth!” The men, hearing all the commotion from outside, were already moving in on the girls. Josh made it to the room first, busting in and asking Samantha what was wrong. Ryan butting in behind Josh, almost knocking him over while yelling into the air, “I’LL FUCKING KILL YOU- get back girls, I got this’’. Ryan looked around confused, “w-well, where the punk at?” He asked, “what's the matter?” Beth, running past Samantha and Josh, dove into Ryan's chest. “I-im sorry, I think I just need to lay down.” she said, trembling. “Won't you please just lay with me for a little while?” she asked, looking up at Ryan, trying not to cry. “just for a little while.” she insisted. “Uh-yea, sure baby. Anything you need. Lets just go lay down ok.” “But Beth.” Samantha said “what happened? What's wrong?” “Nothing, i-im sorry, I'll be fine, and I'll catch up soon, ok?” Beth said, trying to reassure her sister. Samantha and Josh headed out of the room, closing the door behind them. “What's going on, Sam?” Josh asked, concerned. “I-I don't know, she just started acting strange. Maybe it's just the rough night she’s had.” Samantha suggested. “No-no, I mean. Am I invisible or something?” Josh asked. Samantha looked up at him, confused. “What do you mean babe?” She asked “well I mean that fucking brute almost knocked me off the stairs then down again in the room, what the hell is his deal?” Josh said, chuckling at Samantha, hoping he was helping. Samantha chuckled as she backhanded him in the stomach. “you dick.” she said, smiling at him. Josh chuckled before getting serious, “no, I mean it though, do you know what she was doing before she freaked out like that?” he asked. “Well,” Samantha started. “We were just sitting in the room talking, we gave the bunny a bath and then she was in the bathroom when she-well… she came out and-and…” She trailed off. “And what?” Josh insisted. “Well she thought she heard something, like maybe a voice. not once, but twice so far that I know of.” “Wait, heard something? Like what? Like a rat?” he asked “cuz you know if it's a rat, I have to kill it now or he will get into everything.” “Oh, I-I don't know Josh, she didn't tell me. She just came out of the bathroom and started acting weird and she looked so pale. I was frightened so I started to yell, not the best answer, yes, but it's what I did.” Samantha said, looking as if she could start crying at any moment. Josh, noticing the look on her face, quickly answered “oh yes I see, and that's about the time the great wooly mammoth, last of his kind, came in and almost crushed me. My near death experience, horrible.” Josh said, looking at Samantha in a teasing manner. “I mean really, can you believe that guy?” He said as they both began to laugh. “He did kind of knock you out of the way, like you were some cute little doll standing in his way.” She laughed, “you know he and bigfoot really are perfect height for each other.” she teased, smacking Josh on the arm. “ok, ok.” he said “I'm not that small compared to him you know. Cute can be a given but it's not my fault he is built like the last samurai warrior. Besides, man could use a day off from the gym anyways, got to be bad for his heart or something.” Josh said all broody. “Aww no baby.” Samantha said, rushing to his arm. “Look how massively huge your arms are compared to mine, I mean they're so toned and defined, It takes both my hands just to hold your one arm up.” “um, babe.” Josh said looking over his arm and into her eyes, “you're tiny, that don't help. But thank you anyways love. Samantha looked behind her and Josh, up the stairs. “Should I go stay with her?” she asked. “Nah, let her rest. She has Ryan. Might just be jet lag anyways. Besides, it's beautiful outside. come with me and help me cook, I could use the company of a lovely woman on a lovely night.” Josh said as he grabbed her by both her hands, pulling her to the front door. “What?” Samantha said blushing and trying to hide it “we can't do that here! Beth and Ryan could come out at any time!” “Then you can wear the apron.” he said, now stopped and standing in front of her looking down at her, deep into her eyes. “Come one baby, you used to be so excitable, it will be fine, I promise you. Samantha turns her head away a moment, sighing. “Ok fine but I get the apron you said, right?” “I have nothing to hide.” said Josh, looking confident and proud. Samantha darts around Josh laughing, heading into the backyard. “oh, it's on, I'm going to get you Sam!” Josh laughed, chasing her out the front door. In the meantime, Ryan was laying down with Beth, trying to comfort her but not having so much luck. Beth couldn't help but cry, no words, just tears. “Wh-what's happening Ryan?” Beth choked out in between her sobs. “Am I going fucking crazy or what? I-I don't understand. Why are these fucking pills not working?” she yelled, tossing her pill bottle across the room. “Baby- baby, breathe. You got to slow down and tell me what happened. I can't help you if you don't tell me.” Ryan said, grabbing Beth by one hand. “I love you more than my own life, and I can't stand seeing you like this. Will you please just tell me what happened. I know you're not crazy so calm down. Please. Have you been taking your pills on time?” he asked, looking into her deep cyan colored eyes. Beth started taking slower, deeper breaths now. “Well, actually I may have missed a dose.” she said, thinking out loud. “See?” Ryan said, holding Beth and stroking the hair from her face. “That's all it is babe, that and we were drinking. It's not you, ok? So don't worry about it, and let's just lay here as long as you need, ok. And you know. Maybe get naked, it's up to you.” Beth looked quickly at Ryan, smacking his chest lightly and chuckling “what-you perv, I swear.” she said, kissing him on the cheek. I'm just kidding you nasty girl, you're upset and all, I would never. I mean unless it helped.” he said, chuckling at her. “See?” he asked. “You feel a little better now?” “Yea.” Beth said, snuggling her head into his stomach as he continued to stroke her hair. “I guess so.” “Here, lay down with me all the way.” he said, pulling Beth next to him, hugging her even tighter, completely unaware of the black, slimy, disgusting looking hand moving under his pillow. Ryan leans over and kisses Beth, giving her a passionate comforting kiss, then leaning back down onto the pillow. “I'm sorry you're here with me and we aren't out there, I know that's what you would prefer, I love you so much Ryan, I don't know what i would do without you.” Beth said, looking up at Ryan's big lavender eyes. “You forget.” Ryan says, “I'm the lucky one, my life would be nothing without you, Samantha or Josh. You three are my family. I love you more than anyone and anything, and I’ll never let anything happen to you. Ever.” he said, kissing her forehead. “Ahaha” chuckled Beth “My hero.” “That's right, now get some rest my love, before we lose the night, ok?” Ryan said, closing his eyes.
Narrator: as the delightful couple lay there blissfully falling asleep in one another's arms…wow, i mean-just-wow. Who writes this junk? Oh wait, never mind, anyways.” As they lay there falling fast asleep, Josh and Samantha were outside ruining the delightful dinner they were preparing.
I mean just ruined, really now, no one wants to eat that shit after what they were doing, come on now, But I digress.
“Just put my meat in your mouth, its juicy goodness is nutritious for you baby.” Josh said as he pressed his now naked body against Samantha, who was wearing nothing but the apron. He then put the spicy sausage to her mouth. Taking a bite, chewing and swallowing, Samantha leaned into him whispering, “well it was a lot of meat at first, but luckily for us, I adjust quickly. Josh went in for a kiss, when at that moment he jolted back, yelling, “whoo!” And taking the table cloth from the table to cover Samantha up all the way. Tossing all the food they had, well ruined to the ground. “Wh-what?!?!” Asked Samantha frantically. “WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING OUT THERE YOU FAT FUCKER, GET OUT OF HERE OR I WILL KILL YOU!” Josh yelled moving Samantha behind him now, as he stood in the night air with nothing more than his birthday suit. Samantha now seeing where Josh was looking let out a loud yelp, “oh my god!” she cried, clinging to Josh's shoulders. “n-n-n-no, i-i- i wasn't, it's not what you t-think, we-we were just looking for our cottage and got L-lost, this was the first sign of light we s-saw-, and with the storm coming, w-we hoped” Samuel stuttered through his frozen lips. Just then the bushes behind him began to shake around and two girls popped out behind him. “He's not lying, we weren't trying to spy, it was all just awful timing, I swear.” Shay said, coming to Samuels defense. “Yea, look.” busted in Tina “we don't have any interest in watching your student film porno ok? Thank you very much. We just need a place to ride out the storm, please.” She asked, giving Josh and Samantha puppy dog eyes. “We have been lost most of the night and if we can't find some place to wait out the storm, then we're going to die here and never make it out. Now if killing my fat friend here is enough to get us in, and to make you feel better for him walking up on you and little hot stuff back there, while you know, you were getting nasty in the open.” she continued “then go ahead, but please let me and shay inside. Don't make us take our chances out here with nature, we will die.” “What she means.” shay cut in, taking over as Tina whispered to Samuel “I'm just kidding, i got your back. As soon as he goes for you I'll knock him out with this big ass branch I found.” Tina said as she pulled what seemed to be more of a twig then a branch out from behind her. Samuel sighed, rolling his eyes. “What are you going to do make it grow wildly and strangle him, oh dear mother nature?” “No, no.” Samuel and Tina heard Josh tell Samantha. “We're not killers here, just follow us and we will take you inside.” he said as he led Samantha to the front door, make sure you wake Beth and Ryan, let them know what’s going on while I handle these guys. We don't know if they are safe yet or not, so be careful.” Josh said, kissing Samantha on the forehead as he sent her through the front door first. Josh grabbed the blanket that was draped over the sofa and wrapped it around his waist. “Well you guys can have the first floor, the second is taken already.” he said, leading them to the two back rooms on the first floor. Josh stopped and looked Samuel dead in the eye once they had reached his room, sending a terrifying shiver down his spine. “And listen, fat ass, if you so much as look at my wife, I'll do things to you that you never could dream of. “N-no need for threats, sir.” Samuel said in a quiet voice. “I honestly just want this night to end, I'm so sorry for what happened before and I wanted to thank you again for your hospitality, really.” “Yes,” said Josh passively “don't mention it, and don't be creeping around either, the second floor is ours, none of you should go up there.” Josh made his way back to his room where he saw Ryan and Samantha talking in front of the door. “So you got interrupted by a peeping bird huh? Ryan said, smacking Josh on the back. “Yea, I guess some people were lost and needed a place out of the storm.” Josh said, looking down for a moment then back to Ryan. “Yea, did you tell them to beat it?” Ryan asked, laughing. “No actually, I told them they could have the first floor.” Josh said, looking seriously at Ryan now. “You did what?” Ryan asked. “We don't know if these people are dangerous Josh, are you sure about this?” “No I'm not, it's just, no way the girls would have us send them back out. Besides, they can leave tomorrow and you and I will take shifts.” Josh said reassuring Ryan that it would work out. “Ok well, i'm going to let Beth know what's going on so she won't freak out. I’ll come get you in a little while.” Ryan said, patting Josh on the back and turning to walk away. “You did good, little brother.” he said as he walked off, even if it blows up in your face, you did good.” Josh and Samantha went into their room where Samantha buried her face into Josh's chest. “Oh my god baby, how long do you think he was watching us for?” she asked, not ready to meet his gaze with her embarrassment. “I don't know baby.” he said looking down at her. “But I do know that they are in their rooms at the moment, and we are in our room at the moment.” Samantha smacks Josh gently on the arm, “uh no baby, i think the time has passed. Besides, I'm still hungry.” she laughed. “We literally have not had more than a few bites of food every time we have tried to eat today.” “Oh come on baby, what if I just take this off?” Josh said as he pulled Samantha's apron off all the way. Samantha chuckled “ok fine but, we should hurry up, ok?” Just then the little rabbit had made her way to the front door and was looking for a way outside. She hopped around the living room for a moment till she spotted a window open. The little rabbit had hopped right out the window and into the front yard. There she was met with two headlights from a Taxi cab that was just arriving. The cab came to a stop just a few inches from her cute little fluffy face. Baby Charlotte sneezed at all the dust that got kicked up, then hopped off into the forest. As the cab stopped, Preston raised his head, listening as the rain crashed against the ground, hitting the leaves, cracking them as they hit with such force. The lightning flashing like it wants to start a fire. “I see, we finally made it.” he said to the cab driver as he climbed out of the car. He walked over to the cab driver's window, knocking on it, waiting for him to roll down his window. “Here, take this and don't worry about my compensation. Just keep the change and make sure you get home safely.” Preston said mysteriously, as he handed over a wad of cash to the driver. The cab driver didn't even have to open it and count, beings the first bill was already a hundred dollar bill. “O-oh thank you sir!” he said looking shocked at Preston's kindness after this entire trip. “Have a wonderful night and take care of yourself sir, if you ever need a ride, give me a call. Now that I know where here is, I should make for a much smoother ride next time.” The cab driver rolled up his window and turned around, waving goodbye to Preston as he left. Preston took a deep breath in as the rain beat down on him, soaking his white shirt through. He slowly walked to the front door with nothing but his backpack. He began to knock on it, not sure what he would say or how the professor would react. Luckily it would just be him and two females he told himself. So even if things go crazy, it's not like they can really take me. He knocked more, no answer. ‘I swear this guy answers his door like he answers his phone.’ Preston told himself, knocking even louder this time, hoping the rain was drowning out the sounds of his knocks. That could be why no one is answering yet. He knocked louder, and just then Samuel opened the door in utter shock. “What the hell are you doing here?” “y-yes, hello. I don't know if you remember me, but I'm Preston clear.” Preston began “we met once and have been speaking over the phone and i-”. “Yes I remember.” Samuel yelled lowly “that’s why I am asking you, why the hell are you here and what do you want, better yet, how do you know where i am? Are you stalking me?” he demanded to know. “w-wait, please. Professor, don't panic i-.” “Don't panic, don't panic?” Samuel began yelling louder. “Tell me how you knew where I would be!” “N-no, I can't do that yet sir, but please listen, Time is running short.” “Are you making threats?” Samuel asked, looking very alarmed now. “What? No, professor, please just listen, I only need a moment of your time.” Preston pleaded. “You have 30 seconds.” Samuel said, “but know this, there are 12 other people in the house, so all I have to do is yell, then they will be on you like fly on shit.” “Thank you sir, really,” Preston started. “I'm out of time you see, I can't wait any longer. Do you remember what we talked about?” “Of course I do.” Samuel said, looking at his watch. “Well, it's worse. Much worse and I'm afraid I'm out of time.” he said lifting his sleeve to reveal a three fingered, demonic looking handprint on his arm, as if pure evil grabbed him by the arm and tried to pull him to hell. oh my go-, is that what i think it is Samuel asked, now with pity on his face, which quickly turned to fear and anger. And you came here he said trying to keep his voice down, but not doing so well at it. What the hell is wrong with you, I'm sorry but you have to leave now, it's too late and I can't help you. And go where Preston yelled. I have nowhere to go and no one to help me. Preston sighed, seeing that he was not persuading the professor. Ok look, just can i stay for the night and ill leave in the morning? I can't go anywhere now and I have no cell service because of this storm. I'll leave first thing in the morning, you have my word. How the hell am I supposed to help you Preston, Samuel asked glaring at him with nothing but rage. I don't even know half the people in this house, and you want me to convince them to let you in as well. Please, asked Preston, looking hopeless. I'll die out here without your help. Samuel sighed, scratching his head trying to think up a plan. Fine he says, I'll tell the girls to act like you were with us this entire time, you just got split up from us in the forest. If anyone asks you anything just say it was dark and you were lost. Just follow me quietly to my room and I'll handle the guy Josh here. He seems to be the one in charge. I'm not sure who all is here, I have not met everyone yet, Samuel said as he led Josh to the back room. Thank you so much professor, I owe you my life Preston said as he quietly followed Samuel into the house, just then Samuel turned around bumping into josh. o-oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't see you there, Samuel said now worried. I came down for some water. Josh said looking behind Samuel, is everything ok, i thought I heard you yelling with someone, maybe this guy behind you. Samuel looked at Preston then back at Josh, oh no, I mean, yes. I was yelling, he stammered, you see I was up getting a drink myself when I thought i saw someone outside the window, so then i thought, well i better check it out right? So I did, and there he was. He asked Josh, looking a little confused. Oh uh, Preston, our friend, we lost him in the woods, it's a good thing he found us, we were just talking about how we feared he may already be dead. Samuel persisted. I know you have already been so kind, but please sir, if the last party from my group could just-. If he is really with you, then why didn't you say something earlier, Josh asked, peering over Samuels shoulder outside to Preston. Well you see, I was so caught off guard and worried I was going to die for the intrusion, that I kind of forgot all about him. Josh broke out in a spontaneous laugh, kill you, oh yeah that's right. I suppose that would have been a little concerning. Well I suppose I can be rather brutish at first. Well any matter, tell your friend to get inside before he catches his death. Thank you so much sir, Samuel said. Really. It's Josh, my name. Besides, it's not like I could leave him out there, he would die right, Josh said, chuckling to himself as he left the kitchen. Samuel turned to Preston who was standing in the doorway, you heard the man, let's go he said, leading Preston into the house,’’ no one noticing that baby Charlotte was outside, battling for her life against a fox who had caught her in his teeth. Will she live? Will we ever see her cute little fluffy face again. Well, we may or may not ever find out.’’
