Stand Down
Tazzy: Hmmm, maybe 02 is in trouble. Hehehe.
DarkCrusnikMagician: Glad you enjoyed. And yes, Abel will be in the picture more now. Think of him in leather and dancing in a club with Hugue. That might not actually happen but it's nice to think about.
Miss Murder: Been there, flunked that. Just happy for the review. *pokes Miss Murder's muse* (try saying that five times real fast) You really should feed him more, dear.
To everyone still reading, I hope you enjoy.

“Damnu, Edana,” Jeirn said, raking his hands through his hair. “What the hell do we do with him? Any one of us is a physical and fighting match for him but I don’t think anyone wants to hurt him again after all of the work we did putting him back together.”
“We may not have a choice. Much as I really don’t want to consider that.”
“I wonder if Daddy finished analyzing those samples of the nano machines that I sent him yet.” Takara mused aloud.
“Not that I know of. Though he was headed for the lab when I left,” Blaze said, rolling her eyes.
“Damn. That might have helped us out.”
“How?” Gun asked, looking worriedly at Abel’s now grounded but still thoroughly pissed off form.
“Well, if we knew how they worked a little better we might be able to figure out what happened and why he seems stuck in that form,” Takara said.
“Oh, for the love of the gods,” Star said, sounding annoyed. She started to walk toward Abel only to find herself restrained by her husband.
“Just where do you think you’re going?”
“To put him out temporarily. Unless someone has a better idea for the moment.”
Circe, who had been standing and staring blankly for a moment seemed to shake herself to awareness. “I don’t know if it’s a better idea,” she said. “But I’m fairly certain that getting him back to normal has something to do with Gun.”
Gun blinked and stared at his sister as though she had managed to lose every last shred of sanity she possessed.
Circe shrugged. “He likes you.”
“What the hell does that have to do with anything?” Gun asked, turning several shades redder than his hair. “So, what do I need to do, Sis?”
“First, pull your wings in so he doesn’t think of you as quite so much of a threat. And I think a formal introduction of who and what you are is in order,” Circe said.
“He already knows that,” Gun said, looking puzzledly at her.
“Abel knows it. But since Crusnik 02 seems to be the one in control at the moment, he might not have full access to that knowledge. If he did, he’d recognize Seth, Blaze and Taka at very least and know there isn’t a threat to him.”
Gun sighed heavily and reluctantly settled his emerald wings behind him. He glanced over his shoulder at Skye. “Mom?”
“I have him, don’t worry,” Skye said, looking worriedly from Crusnik 02 to her son.
“I’m going with you,” Seth said, walking over to stand next to Gun. She laced her fingers through Gun’s and started to tug him toward Crusnik 02, who had settled somewhat but was still watching the scene unfolding in front of him with no small amount of wariness. The sparkling red eyes tracked the two approaching him, narrowing slightly in concentration as he focused first on Seth’s small form, then Gun’s larger one. A spark of recognition seemed to flare in the brilliant crimson eyes then fade almost as quickly as it had appeared.
They stopped directly in front of 02 and Seth let go of Gun’s hand and started to approach her brother. At her first step toward him tendrils of Crusnik 02’s hair shot out and wrapped around her wrists, lifting her to eye level with him. To her credit, Seth didn’t struggle, it was Gun who grasped the restraining locks of 02’s hair and unwound them from Seth’s wrists and forearms. Seth dropped to the ground, landing on her feet and staring at 02.
“Seth, go,” Gun said as 02’s expression went from stoic and mildly curious to hostile. Seth did as she was told and backed up several steps. The mass of 02’s hair separated and shot out to wrap around Gun’s upper torso and throat.
Gun growled a little and his wings shot out, severing part of Crusnik 02’s midnight hair. The others felt the hair on the backs of their necks stand on end as power suddenly began to stir around the two men. There was a subtle change in Gun’s appearance as the full surge of his abilities settled over him. His wings shifted and then spanned to their full extent, he could see Crusnik 02 fighting to do the same, trying to break the sonic hold Skye still held over him.
“Mom, let him go.”
“Are you sure?” Skye asked.
“Make certain everyone else is shielded but let him go.”
Skye nodded and released the hold on Crusnik 02, who instantly took to the air and attempted to dive bomb Gun on the ground. Gun’s wings flared and shifted as he dodged the sharp claws. On Crusnik 02’s next pass Gun reached out and grasped him by the wrists, stopping him in mid attack and holding on to him as he struggled to break free.
“I am the Archangel Camael. Chief of the order of powers; one of the holy sefiroth; personification of divine justice. Crusnik 02 you will stand down immediately or suffer the consequences.”
Something in 02 seemed to recognize the power behind those words because his hair seemed to settle almost instantly and began to fade from midnight to moonlight once again. The gleaming red eyes changed slowly back to their usual state of blue and the fabulous black wings rustled then sank back into his body. This left only Abel staring bewilderedly at Gun, who was still in full angelic mode and still holding on to his wrists.
“What just happened, Blaze?” Seth asked.
“Gun is the primary avatar for the Archangel Camael as he said.”
“I know that,” Seth said impatiently. “Why did Crusnik 02 stand down like he did though?”
“I suppose because even in that state 02 would recognize any threat made by an Archangel’s avatar would be carried out regardless of said avatar’s feeling toward the subject.”
Abel stared around at everyone as the full impact of what had just occurred dawned on him. He looked frantically at those in the clearing, checking for injuries to them. He sighed in relief when no one seemed to be hurt. He then looked sheepishly at Gun who had released his wrists and was standing calmly only a few feet away from him. Abel didn’t think he’d seen anyone so beautiful in his long life.
Isaak stared in mute horror at the huge iron X that had been erected in the center of the coven’s large meeting hall. He swallowed heavily then squared his shoulders and started the unutterably long walk through the crowd to where Cain and Dietrich stood waiting for him.
DarkCrusnikMagician: Glad you enjoyed. And yes, Abel will be in the picture more now. Think of him in leather and dancing in a club with Hugue. That might not actually happen but it's nice to think about.
