One week later.
Sailor Moon watched the daimohn disappeared in a flash of light. She knew that Terrene had intended to rush into the flash, to get back to her people. She wondered for a moment if she would be successful, but when the flash died down, Terrene was gone.
“It looks like she made it,” Sailor Uranus said from next to her. “Let’s get home, Moon-face. Maybe this will do some good.”
“Maybe,” Sailor Moon said. “I’m tired. When we get home, I want to sleep.”
“I know what you mean,” Uranus said. “This is getting tiring.”

When the next attack came, ten days after Terrene’s departure, it was a bitter disappointment to all of them. They had hoped that she would be able to stop the attacks.
They headed to the Shinjuku district, wondering what they would see. According to Thomas’ astronomy programs, there were two conjunctions on this day: Mercury and Jupiter, and the Moon with Uranus and Neptune.
In keeping with it, Sol ordered something new: she told Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune to stay with Sailor Moon, and she told Sailor Mercury and Sailor Jupiter to stick together.
“It can’t hurt,” she pointed out. “It just might help. We have no idea, one way or another.”
They arrived at the Shinjuku district to a scene of chaos. People were running away from diamohns in several directions. The creatures were swinging either their arms or their tails at everything that moved.
Kishi Mercury was the first to approach the creatures. He dashed around them, trying to confuse them. They bellowed at the blue blur, backing into a circle, facing out. They started taking swipes at Mercury, trying to get him to leave them alone. One of them got a swipe in the right place at the right time, and connected with Mercury.
Mercury stumbled and fell to his hands and knees. Before he could climb to his feet, one of the other creatures wrapped its hands around him and then disappeared into a dark rift that opened behind it.
Sailor Mercury screamed, startling all of them, and then she surged forward, running in a desperate and futile attempt to save her planet partner.
Endymion beckoned to Kishi Jupiter, and the two of them headed towards the creatures themselves, attempting to cut Sailor Mercury off in her headlong charge. Kishi Moon spared his planet partner one anguished look before he followed them, determined to keep Endymion from harm.
Terrified that she was going to lose her partner and her lifemate in one stroke, Sailor Moon raised her scepter and began to circle it, even though there were still people in the path of the attack.
Before she could complete the attack, the remaining four creatures had snatched up the Senshi and Kishi closest to them and had also disappeared, taking Sailor Mercury, Endymion, and the two Kishi accompanying him, with them.
~*~*~*~*~
None of the Senshi clearly remembered returning to Chiba House. Usagi, Lucinda, and Makoto huddled together on one of the couches, trying desperately to hold themselves together. Vincent sat with them, trying to do what he could to help.
Aster stared at her adopted sister and her friends for a long moment, and then she walked out of the house and into the back yard.
Concerned, ChibiUsa followed her. She watched while Aster approached a tree with thick rope wrapped around its trunk. The rope was there to make it possible to practice unarmed martial arts on a nonhuman target without harming the tree. She watched Aster run the last few steps to it and start beating on the rope and the tree underneath, screaming her frustration and her fear.
Finally, Aster’s energy was spent, and she collapsed at the base of the tree, sobbing and apologizing over and over, that she had not stopped her fellow warriors from being taken.
“It’s not your fault!” ChibiUsa suddenly cried out. She ran up to Aster and threw her arms around the distraught woman.
“It’s not your fault you don’t know everything.” ChibiUsa told her. “If there’s anyone to blame, it’s Pluto, because she didn’t tell you they were going to change their tactics. Nobody knows everything, Aster, not even Pluto. Maybe this has to happen. Maybe this is the only way to stop them.”
“We can’t rescue them, Hime-chan,” Aster sobbed. “We’ve lost them, and everything’s going to be ruined!”
“We haven’t lost them,” another voice joined the conversation. They both looked up to see Rei and Minako standing nearby.
“Ami’s in the future,” Rei said. “And if we’d lost Mamoru, ChibiUsa would be fading. She isn’t, so we haven’t lost them. We just have to figure out how to get them back. In the meantime, you need some first aid.”
Aster looked down at her hands, and gasped when she realized that she had damaged her knuckles so badly that they were bleeding freely. She did not even want to consider how deep the scratches went.
“Let’s get you cleaned up,” Minako said. “Haruka and Michiru are taking care of Usagi and Lucinda. Rei and I will take care of you.”
“Come on, Aster,” ChibiUsa said, pulling at the golden-eyed woman. “You can’t fall apart. Usagi and Lucinda are doin’ it this time. You gotta help us get everybody back.”
“Okay, Hime-chan,” Aster said, struggling to her feet. She looked at Minako and gave her a tense smile.
“Now that I’ve calmed down,” she said. “This hurts like fire. Let me go through the main house. Having me to take care of might wake Usagi and ‘Cinda out of their funk.”
She followed Rei and Minako into the house, and deliberately passed her adopted sister’s line of sight, where she sat on the couch.
“You sit down, Aster,” Minako said. “I’ll get the first aid kit.”
“Aster, what have you done?” Lucinda asked, pulling herself out of Usagi and Makoto’s arms and walking over to her younger cousin.
“I got a little angry,” Aster said, looking ruefully down at her hands. “I forgot that I’m not invulnerable, and I can’t just beat up anything I want. My hands hurt so much, I can’t even tell you if it’s just superficial, or if I did some real damage.”
“That’s easy, Amaterasu,” Vincent said, shaking one hand. “I think you cracked somethin’ in your left hand. You was hittin’ extra hard with that one. My left hand hurts along the middle of the back, clear up to my wrist.”
Minako came into the room with the box containing the first aid kit, and set it down next to Lucinda. She looked at Rei and shared a smirk with her when Usagi came over to help Lucinda clean and bandage Aster’s hands.
“We need to take you to the hospital, Aster,” Lucinda said. “We need to know if you have broken the bones in your hand.”
“Okay,” Aster said. “But only if you and Usagi come with me.”
“What about me?” Vincent asked.
“You and Makoto have to make dinner,” Aster said while Lucinda helped her to her feet. “Just because we got kicked in the butt today doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t eat. We’ll be back as soon as we can.”
She allowed Usagi to help her into her shoes, and the two of them followed Lucinda to her car. Aster waited while Lucinda opened the door and then helped her into the back seat.
Aster laid her head back while Usagi climbed into the passenger seat, and Lucinda started the car. She closed her eyes and focused on trying to get past the pain while Lucinda drove her to the hospital.
~*~*~*~*~
When the three women returned, Aster’s left hand was in a brace, and her second finger was contained in a splint.
Usagi had a bottle of pain relievers in her pocket, and she fussed with getting Aster seated, and then she got food and something to drink. She made certain that Aster ate, and then stood over her while she took her pills.
After Aster finished eating, Takagi and Sean sat down on either side of her, and then Haruka and Michiru sat on either side of them. Aster smiled as the two men shifted her around so that her hip was pressed against Sean’s hip, and her head on Takagi’s shoulder. She felt Haruka reach across Sean and pat her hip before they all settled down.
The pain pills made Aster drowsy. She heard the others discussing the events of the day, and making hypothetical rescue plans. She murmured comments to Takagi, and he relayed her comments to the others.
Finally, someone said something that made Aster sit up and take notice.
“Sailor Teleport?” Aster asked. “That idea has merit, except for one small problem. We need some idea of where we’re going. We can’t just teleport blind.”
“We’re have some idea of where we’re going,” Usagi said. “We can concentrate on Planet Power. That’s what they have, just like us. Or, we can concentrate on the people who are missing. I’m bonded to Endymion, Hotaru’s bonded to Thomas, Lucinda and Vincent and Makoto are bonded to Kojiro, and Martin’s bonded to Ami. Either method should get us where we want to go.”
“Getting home wouldn’t be a problem,” Rei pointed out. “We can concentrate on getting here.”
“It does seem to be a reasonable option,” Aster said, looking around. “Okay, we’ll try it. We get a good night’s sleep, and we call some of the satellites to keep an eye on ChibiUsa while we’re gone.”
“I’m goin’ with you!” ChibiUsa declared from where she was sitting, pressed up against Usagi.
“No, you’re not,” Aster said firmly. “You’re staying here if I have to hogtie you. You are our future. We are not risking you in a fight.”
“I wanna go!” ChibiUsa exclaimed, sitting up straight.
“And I said no,” Aster said. “I am sure that everyone else here agrees with me.”
“You’re staying here, Short Stuff,” Haruka said. “Aster’s right.”
“It’s not just what Aster said,” Minako said. “We have to leave someone in charge here. When we get back, with a Sailor Teleport, we’re going to be too tired to make food, or even change. You’re going to have to make sure that there’s food prepared, and that everything else is ready.”
“That’s what the Satellites are for,” ChibiUsa argued. “They can do all that stuff.”
“But who’s going to tell them what to do?” Minako asked. “Yes, they can do the work, but someone needs to supervise.”
“Oh,” ChibiUsa said, her face pensive. “I guess.”
Aster picked up the phone, smiling, and then looked up in alarm and dropped it back into its cradle when they heard the door to the solarium open and close. Everyone in the room scrambled to their feet, reaching for tokens and henshin wands. They relaxed when Hosyu and Kenji came through the doorway.
Hosyu walked directly over to Aster.
“Why didn’t you call me?” he asked. “I had to find out from your financial records that you had been to the hospital. You said that you weren’t in any real danger.”
“I’m not, Oji-san,” Aster replied. “I did this after we got home, with my own two little hands. I tried to beat up a tree, because I wanted to beat up myself.”
“What for?” Hosyu asked. “I heard that there was an attack in Shinjuku, but I haven’t heard anything else.”
“We lost some people,” Aster said. “Both Mercurys, Kishi Moon, Kishi Jupiter, and Endymion were captured. We have to get them back.”
“How are you going to do that?” Hosyu asked, concerned.
“We’re going to Sailor Teleport there,” Aster said. “First thing in the morning. I will call some friends to help you keep an eye on ChibiUsa. I’m also calling in our reserves.”
“Reserves?” Hosyu asked. “Who are they?”
“Chiron,” Aster said.

The sun had barely risen when the Senshi and Kishi made their way to the backyard of Chiba House. They all transformed as they approached the zen garden in the middle of the property, as though they had agreed that the Sailor Teleport would be from there.
Joben and the other Senshi House regulars had followed them out, and then Joben walked over to hug Sailor Sol and kiss her as if he was never going to see her again. He looked as if he was going to do the same with Sailor Uranus, but settled for taking her hand and kissing the knuckles. He stepped back, brushing at his eyes, and pulled Sakura into a tight embrace.
Hosyu was on the edge of the garden, watching them. He had one hand on ChibiUsa’s shoulder.
They all made a circle around the king rock in the garden, and closed their eyes. Where it was possible, Planet Partners stood together. Sailor Moon and Sailor Terra stood together, clinging to one another in the absence of their partners.
Sailor Sol nodded to Sailor Moon, giving her and Terra control of the teleport. After all, they both had partners there, and they had both had contact with Terrene.
Just as the energies began to peak, and Sol felt the beginning of the teleport, she saw a burst of pink light, and saw Sailor Mini Moon rush forward and throw her arms around Sailor Moon.
