Author's note:
Although I initially didn't want to, I apologize for my neglecting of the story.
Real live gave me a hard time dealing with my own illness as well as the life threatening illness of a pet,
discharged by its former oweners at my door.
Though we still have to pick the fight, we are relatively fine at the moment
and thus I decided to finally write again. I'm thankful to those who still didn't give up on the story.
Thank you!

“Ah, there he is.”
Liam invited Kris to come nearer. When there was neither a reaction nor a word forthcoming, Nyet took possession of Kris' wrist and dragged him along until they stood in front of the two blonde men. Liam tilted his head as he thought about something. By the looks he gave the Feron, Nyet wasn't sure if he liked whatever thoughts the infant had.
“Pack your belongings. We'll soon be heading for Eos.”
“Eos? As far as I'm concerned, I have no business there.”
“Doesn't it lie within your responsibility as a technician to accompany your dreamer to whatever destination he has ?”
Although the Feron nodded, Nyet felt him tense up. Liam's words had the same effect on him as did a firmly closed lid on a heating kettle. A touch of melancholie even lay underneath the surface of cool, that emitted from Liam ... and also Raoul as he captured the Feron's focus,
“Raven awaits in Eos.”
Heavy sarcasm veiled the truth within, when the young men replied, “He's only a mongrel, even as your pet there's no way he could hack the system through one of the terminals. If he could, you first of all would have prepared a better way to keep him insulated.”
“Why not just have a little faith, kid. Raven is tough stuff.”
“Nyet...?”

Jupiter took over the job of analyzing the data once it recognized the streams in one of its peripheral caches as being part of its own initial source code. Thus even the arteficial intelligence of the super computer turned out to be curious.
Katze lifted his fingers from the keyboard, “Kyle. I think you should take a look at this.”
The tall Blondie was staring out the window. At Katze's request he turned to face the screen. The blackheaded mongrel lay perfectly still on the examiation table and yet the influx - as to be seen on the screen - fastened by each passing moment. He looked over at Raven, then at Katze. The hands of the dealer were clammy.
“Impossible.”
Despite the word, his tone betrayed uncertainty. On a rational level both men realized the AI's doing. Relentlessly it matched the fragrants to their position within it's own coding, adapting them - clinically solving the data puzzle. Even though nervous little terminals, cameras and microphones blanketed the city of Midas, the AI lacked the proper concept of caution. Being artificial it relied on calculus of probability but humanities fate rested in it's own hand.

“Good evening Lord Zeus.” Turning swiftly, Arian faced the ambassador and his assistent. “I belief you didn't have the pleasure yet.”
“That's right,” while extending a gloved hand, he continued, “Arian Zeus.”
“Elaran Amidari, the pleasure is all mine.”
Hazall took a set of champaigne flutes from an offered tray and handed one to each of his guests, “That went rather well, my friend. I believe the carrier delivered by now.”
“He did.”
The Karinese developed a sudden interest in Arian. “Your race is truly outstanding. May I ask how it works … that bond.”
“There is no such thing as a bond. It's more of an unsettling feeling caused by admittedly small irregularities like that in the weather control system.”
“I wasn't aware of any malfunctioning.”
“Well, the rain was expected to end at 300.”
Elaran tilted his head, “You still haven't seen the plug, have you? How about postponing dinner until after the tour?”
“That would be most welcome.”
Hazall smiled pleased with himself when he introduced the dissident to the plug.
So that's my discharge paper … drawn up by the hands of that small human. Astounding.

Humankind is a strange beast to face. One second Tanagura resided on top of the crown as queen over all amoian cities, ruled and protected by Jupiter itself and in the next instant it was shaken by a mere mongrel. It didn't dawn upot Jupiter's children yet, the fallout being a rather quiet affair.
No fanfares, no opulet fireworks, just two men in a lab staring at a single screen. It didn't feel it but Kyle was sure the system was different. What exactly wasn't clear to him. For no apparent reason he was confused as if the rivulets caused by the alien source in Jupiter's coding went downright into his very core.
“It's spreading.”
“I can see that much but what exactly is it?”
Kyle checked his mailbox, the communication channels … nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
“It's evolution.”
