Disclaimer: I do not own Trinity Blood, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
Astharoshe: don't try to be like me I'm a loser >_< Thanks though, for the praise. I don't think I'm really up there with the best. i wish I could write like Kira :'/ I wish I could get PAID.. >_< Imagine, getting paid to be a perve and sit around writing about hot guys doing girls or even other hot guys! What a life....
Retro Lamb: lol I hope it's going to be interesting. I'm starting to feel like a soap opera script writer. It's like every chapter ends with a dun dun dunnnnn! lol And you're quite welcome for the steps, cheers!
DarkCrusnikMagician: ROFLMAO! I'm glad that you enjoyed the chapter but you ignored the phone for my crappy story?! I feel hella LURVED right now! *sniffle* I really wasn't all that impressed with my writing of the transformation scene as my words never seem to do justice to the picture I have in my head. I tried though, and I wanted to show the beauty behind it, even though it was a struggle. Alexandra is beautiful in every way in my eyes, even if she is a little damaged, and being a crusnik only intensifies those qualities. I wanted to show that, but I sorta fell short. Ummm... Isaac was only with her once and while it IS physically possible to get pregnant from JUST ONCE, it's not physically possible to get pregnant from anal sex and urrrmmmm...yeah...well.... *is red*....that's what ISaac got/gave. So, no he's not the daddy. LOL the other methuselah probably noticed, but she never interacted with them much, they were just there. and it's not like they'd be sniffing her like a scent marking post going "OMFG ARE YOU PREGGERS?" so...lol, yeah they noticed, but nobody said anything. And the explanation for Isaac in all his alabastor glory will be thoroughly explained in the sequel. which isn't far away.
Min: I'm glad to hear that everyone enjoys Alex as a crusnik. I knew she would become one from the beginning of the story. well... duh I'm the author, but I never start writing a story with the ENTIRE plot completely in my head. I usually see where it goes and I find out what's gonna happen next right before you guys do. maybe that's why my stuff's so surprising. Keep reading though, I think the two of them have more emotional catching up to do and the next chapters will be angst riddled as they still envolve Alex's changes.
Caranril: lol everyone will be happy in the end, though they may take detours here and there. Cain may not get his way just as he wants it, but he will find peace and happiness because at heart I'm a ginormous sap and I hate my life because I never have endings like this. I never have sex scenes like this either >_< At any rate, TMI, sorry. Just hang in there with me and we'll see where everyone goes! And I liked the idea of Alex being a crusnik, so it had to be done!
winterfrau: They already had a menage a trois! oh wait.... ergh.... I don't think either man would go for a threesome in all reality. I barely made it remotely believable when someone else was wearing their faces and I didn't do that well at all >_< Hugue might, if he got desperate enough, but I think Abel might eat whoever suggested it *stares at choo* Oh, we'll see what she does with her powers very soon. We'll be riding the roller coaster stages of grief, I assure you. And, my dear, you will never guess where I plan on leaving this story ;* I guaruntee it.
So today was my birthday (12th) and I got a new male betta for my birthday ( I have about 30 fishies all said and done, mostly bettas). He's got a black body with a silver sheen and red splashes. He's got little red eyes too and he's constantly threatening the cat (a rather large and growing male maine coon). So, being black with red eyes....naturally......
I named him alucard
wah wah wahhhhhhh.......thought it was going to be all significant, didn't you?:P
Chapter 33: Spread Your Wings...
Alex had been sleeping for some hours and night had fallen over Rome like a comforting blanket. Abel had taken Hugue’s place on the floor, watching Alexandra’s transformed face, committing every minute detail to memory. Her lips had deepened in color to a deep cornflower blue, her hair had a blue raven-like sheen, and her wings were the most brilliant blue he had ever seen. He smiled as they twitched in her sleep, and wondered if she’d had any dreams about flying yet. He puzzled over why Cain would do this to her. Cain knew Abel would have objections about making Alexandra a Crusnik, but there were worse fates in the world. He’d alluded to torturing and raping her, and to find her on the doorstep of the Vatican, well-fed and taken care of, with only one change, made Abel worry. Was there something she hadn’t told them yet? The transformation had taken place so quickly after her arrival, that no one had a proper chance to ask her anything, and when she was lying on the couch looking so peaceful, Abel couldn’t imagine dredging up memories of her captivity.
Alex’s eyes scrunched and then opened slowly, the strange blue light from her eyes making her look less terrifying than the bloody red that they all shared. He pondered her beautiful differences and smiled at her. She smiled back, watching as a tendril of her own hair spilled over her shoulder and brushed against her cheek in a comforting sweep.
“Abel. How do I make it...” She searched for the least offensive way of saying what she was thinking.
“Go away?” Abel smiled comfortingly at her and Alex blushed, smiling lopsidedly.
“Not forever, but, you know...”
“Don’t worry, I know what you mean, Alex. There’s nothing to be worried about, I will teach you how to control them. There may be some struggling to make the machines listen to you at first. Cain fused with them at one hundred percent which means that you didn’t receive free-floating machines as you would have from me or Seth. Instead, you received his blood strongly bonded to those machines and that is why your transformation was so brutal. Your body will naturally try to destroy the foreign blood in your system, but with your own volume so low, the body allows the foreign blood to remain so that it can work to keep the body alive. In a Methuselah, the new blood and the old blood fuse and eventually the fledgling’s blood absorbs the Master’s blood, making it their own and absorbing all the powers that blood contains. Your body absorbed Cain’s blood and the machines, but in the process it must have dislodged the machines, because your senses are still about you.”
“I hope that I can change like you. I don’t want to be in this form forever.” Alex flushed with shame, hoping Abel wouldn’t take offense. He merely smiled at her, calming her nerves.
“You would not survive if this was the only form you were allowed to have. Don’t worry, Alexandra. I will teach you.” Abel reached a hand out to brush her cheek. Her hair curled around his finger gently, of its own accord. They both watched the interaction curiously. Abel pulled away and stood, murmuring the command to release his Crusnik form. He stretched his wings and Alex tucked her own in as she lifted herself from the couch, standing in front of Abel. The firelight caught his hair, splashing gold highlights through his locks and Alex’s face fell into a look of utter dismay. Abel bit the inside of his cheek, knowing perfectly well what she was seeing. He pulled her into the shadows of the room where his silver tresses could move freely with her own raven locks, and the two watched as their hair slithered around like a nest of roiling snakes. Abel spread his wings and pulled her in, wrapping the two of them in a cocoon.
“Abel. How do you fly?”
“Have you learned what muscles control the wings?”
“I think so.” Alex stepped away and spread her wings, retracting them to a comfortable folding position. Abel smiled at the jaunty movement.
“That’s wonderful! Only a few hours with them and you’ve already covered basically the full range of movement. It will be some time before you can fly. You must allow the muscles to develop properly before taking any leaps from tall buildings.” Abel traced her now pointed ear with his clawed finger. Alex shuddered and he smiled at her.
“How do I look more human?”
“I don’t think your machines will accept voice command, so you must use your will. Cain had become dependent solely on his will to control the machines and that is why he cannot always control them. You must become powerful and lay the foundation. These machines are in a new vessel and while the painful, dramatic, stages of your transformation are done and over, you are still changing on a cellular level. You must impose your will early on, before they have a chance to run rampant. Try to think about soothing the machines, think about yourself in your Terran form and they should settle down.”
“Mmm.” Alex didn’t sound very confident, but she closed her eyes and tried to imagine her wings gone, her hair stilled against her back, her claws gone, and her fangs gone. It took several minutes, but her wings slowly began to fade and so did her fangs and claws. Her hair slowly stopped swirling, falling beautifully against her back and when she opened her eyes, the beautiful blue glow was gone. Alex lifted her hands to inspect them, shocked to find that her claws were gone. She tucked her fingertips into her mouth to find that her fangs were gone and then threaded her fingers through her hair to find that it was no longer hovering around her. “There you are. You must continue to try shifting from one form to another to assert dominance over the machines. Once you’ve accomplished that, you must try to stay in your Terran form as much as possible. Being a Crusnik is somewhere between a blessing and a curse. You now have the power to save those humans around you who are most precious to you, but they will naturally be afraid of your Crusnik form. You are the first and only person that looked at my Crusnik form without trembling in terror.” Abel leaned down and kissed her temple, leaning in to whisper to her. “Be my angel, Alexandra.”
Abel’s wings spread out behind him slightly, his hair swirling animatedly. Alex smiled at him, melting into her Crusnik form before embracing him tightly. He held her, one hand stroking her hair as it wrapped around his forearm possessively. Alex inhaled deeply, his gentle smell the only way she could tell he wasn’t another tortured dream.
“Abel?” Her voice quaked with barely checked emotion and he nuzzled into her hair as her claws tore into his robes, the fabric twisted between her elongated fingers.
“Yes, my beautiful Alexandra.” His grip tightened and she buried her face into his chest.
“Is this really you?” Her voice sounded so small as it cracked that Abel could feel his heart breaking for her all over again. His grip was so tight that he would have injured her if she were still a Terran, but she didn’t complain, wishing she could somehow meld with him so she could never again be taken away.
“Yes, dearest, it’s really me. I will never let anyone take you away from me again.” Abel’s own voice broke as he stroked her hair, blood tears rolling down his cheeks.
“I prayed every night... I dreamt about you all the time.” Alex was shaking her head, tugging on his robes as if he were accusing her.
“Alexandra, it’s okay.”
“No, you must listen to me! Even when I couldn’t get away... even after...” She choked on her own words. “He released me because of my desire to see you, to be with you again.”
Abel didn’t say anything, instead rocking them slightly, kissing her hairline as her tears soaked the front of his robes. His jaw ached from the force of his teeth gritting in his rising anger. Alexandra continued to murmur into his clothing, her frame shaking with her distress. Abel continued to sooth her, murmuring softly to her, kissing her face gently. Eventually, Alexandra calmed, but she felt sure that Abel would somehow be able to see into her soul and would find the truth of her captivity with Cain. She pulled away from him, struck with a sudden panic and Abel immediately tried to re-capture her in a tight embrace. She pulled away, swiping at her blood tears.
“I’m fine, really.” She flashed a weak smile at him and he merely watched her, his eyes profoundly sad, his age whispering in their blue depths.
“I won’t push you, Alex. You can talk about it if you need to.”
“There’s nothing to talk about, Abel.” Abel nodded, but was obviously unconvinced of her version of the events.
“All right. Let’s go outside and walk for a while. You will feel sleepiness tugging at you when the sun rises, even in your Terran form. You will get used to the drowsiness and be able to move around after the first few weeks.” Alex nodded and he opened the door for her, watching as she carefully tucked her wings so she could fit through the door. She stepped out into the night and looked around her in wonder. Though she knew the hallway they stood in was almost pitch black, she could make out the detail of every stone tile and every stone in the wall easily, making out small pits and cracks here and there. She walked forward, slowly, as if the cool highlights in the hallway would shimmer and melt away, proving a beautiful illusion.
“I can see it.” Abel watched , following behind her, remembering keenly his own fascination with the simplest things after his own transformation. She followed the hallway until it broke off into the gardens, emerging into the moonlight squinting. Her eyes adjusted quickly and the garden seemed to be caught in early twilight rather than the dead of night. All the roses and flowers glistened brightly in the nightlight, their colors more vibrant, as if a veil had been lifted, removing a dullness she never even knew was there.
Alex wandered farther out into the garden, assaulted by the smells coming from all the blooms around her, the grass, the soil. She looked up at the sky and realized she could see the stars more clearly, make out the different colors as they winked at her from the heavens. She could feel the breeze keenly, hear the hum of insects and the murmur of conversation from an adjacent hallway. Her senses were flooded and as soon as she began to wonder at one sensation, her mind was captured by another. Abel watched as her face turned from side to side as though she were caught in a hailstorm of voices, each vying for her attention vociferously.
When her eyes fell back in Abel’s direction, they were wide and her ears were still twitching with every movement in the night. She smiled at him, although a little weakly, and he approached her, his comforting smile hitched into place. She watched the movement of his robes and the shifts in light that rippled through the fabric with his steps. She was enthralled and her gaze made Abel ache for the intimacy they’d had before Cain kidnaped her. He knew it was too soon to seek such closeness, but her excited expression made him feel like the center of her attention for the first time in many weeks.
“It’s beautiful this way, isn’t it?” Abel’s voice was deep, even under his gravelly crusnik tone, sending shivers down her spine. She knew that tone all two well, having heard it many a night from both him and his brother.
“I never knew it would be like this. I can...see such colors and details, things I never knew existed. My senses almost seem to run together, movement and sound becoming light and color. Will it be like this even in my Terran form?”
“Just about, yes. It will not be quite as pronounced, especially in the daytime. Daylight seems to drown out the world until it floods your being, all but obliterating everything else.” Abel smiled down at her, her hair swirling up to meet his.
“Then, if you can see just fine, why do you wear glasses?” Abel laughed out loud, his fangs glittering in the moonlight.
“I wear them because they make me look a little older and more priestly. Besides,” he leaned in to whisper to her, “it keeps the really young ones away.” Alex flushed and grinned at him.
“You’re terrible.”
“I’m am not! I’m trying to be the exact opposite!”
Alex shook her head and started walking through the garden, spreading her wings and stretching them, flexing them in every direction she could.
“Abel?”
“Yes, dearest.” He covered the few steps that separated them, smiling at her more graceful wing movements.
“I want to fly.” Abel looked her up and down, taking in her almost sad expression. He pulled her close, nuzzling her cheek and swept them into the air with a single powerful flap of his black wings. Alex wrapped her arms around Abel’s neck and he held her close as they rose above the Vatican, above Rome. He pulled her face from his neck to gaze out over the city, a few sparse lights twinkling here and there. Alex spread her own wings slowly, able to detect up and down drafts with her sensitive feathers. She waited until his wings were on the back swing before flexing her wings forward, mimicking Abel’s motions, their wings following one another in opposing directions. They stayed this way for some moments, Abel smiling at her desire to learn so quickly about the abilities of her new body.
Alex pushed herself away from Abel and grit her teeth as she struggling to keep herself in the air with her own untried wings. Abel shouted her name and tucked his wings in, meaning to speed after her, but she managed to hover, her wings pumping more rapidly than his to keep her afloat. She struggled and it made the brand new muscles in her back ache, but she was doing it.
“Abel!” Alex’s face lit up with childlike wonder as she strained to watch her own wings moving. “Look!”
“I see...” Abel’s eyes were wide with the same wonder, amazed that she was able to keep herself in the air. Alex squeaked gracelessly when she began to sink despite her frantic flapping, and Abel reached out to take her hand, laughing at her shock.
“Now now, dearest. Don’t push yourself too far too fast.” He pulled her close to him again, embracing her tightly. “You are such a wonder.”
Abel set the two of them back down in the garden, nuzzling her flowing hair, sighing longingly as her hair brushed against his cheeks. He knew he shouldn’t push her, but he could no longer resist. Pulling her close, he kissed her deeply, his fangs grazing her lower lip. Alex whimpered, melting into him completely as he sucked on her trickling lip. She held him so tightly she was crushing him, but it wasn’t tightly enough for Abel, there kiss quickly turning ravenous. As Abel’s hands tucked into her loose fitting shirt, his fingers brushing over her skin, a single word floated through the heady fog in her mind.
Cain...
Alex pushed Abel away, panting, her fingers running over the small cut he’d accidentally left on her lip. She smiled bitterly to herself, wondering if he’d heard her thoughts, if he’d felt her betrayal. He looked at her quizzically, and she merely shook her head.
“Forgive me, Abel. I think you will be most disappointed in my company in the future.” Tears rose in her eyes and she looked Heavenward to keep them from falling. Before Abel could respond, she looked to him again, her tears spilling down her cheeks. “I feel heavy. I think the dawn is not far off and I am beginning to ache. I’m going to turn in. Good night, Abel.”
Alex left the garden as Abel settled into his Terran form. He was shocked by her abrupt rejection and wondered more than ever what Cain had really done to her. His insides twisted, the thought that his monster of a brother had been telling the truth made him feel sick. He listened until he could no longer hear her retreating footsteps. Resigned to a restless night without Alexandra, Abel wandered through the halls towards his own bedroom, his mind filled with miserable thoughts.
