Taichi's Courage

Shinchama: Hello everyone!!!!! For you, my wonderful readers, I have been working diligently today with even more edits to the prior chapters. Turned out to be a short chapter. Back in Taichi's point of view, and picking up right where we left him. We'll get some back story here. Don't worry, there will be lots of fun Yaoi soon. I promise you all, my wonderfully patient readers. Lets keep going!!!

Thank you AnimeLyrics.com, but especially Megchan (Transliterator)
http://www.megchan.com/ and Riah-chan (Translator) for posting lyrics to Yamato's song "Tobira."

Oh, and! Questions, Comments, Ideas? Even angry letters nowadays, I want it all!

~~~~TAICHI~~~
I was lost. Which way would he have gone? Right? No... I looked at the darkening sky. Left! I ran off. The setting sun burned into the water beyond the buildings; the sky- so many colors: pinks and violets, yellows and oranges, an almost blood crimson. My heart beat faster as I continued. I wasn't sure where to go, but I had a feeling that I was on the right track.
“No, Taichi. I don't want to hear it. Takeru is my brother and I know what is right for him.” Yamato stared at me.
“Well, I think you should take all of us into consideration,” I wasn't about to let him walk off that easily, “Child of Friendship.” A cold gaze. “We all care about Takeru, and we all care about you! What have you been doing?”
“I've been doing everything I can! Do you know what its been like at home? No, of course you couldn't!”
“Maybe if you would talk to me, I would understand! I could help!” I shouted back.
Yamato paused, his eyes glassy, “What have I been doing? What have I been doing? What haven't I been doing? When haven't I been there for Takeru!”
“I talk to him, from time to time, Yamato-kun. And you know what I've heard?” I searched his face, “Loneliness and so much sadness.”
“Of course Takeru is sad! I'm sad, Dad is sad, we are all certainly sad! So now you think that you just know everything, don't you, Yagami???” I hated it when he used my last name, “Its all because you don't have to be in the situation every day. Because you can be his big brother whenever you feel like it, and say whatever you like without having to take responsibility! Well, Yagami. I have to take responsibility! I don't have any choice! And you know what Yagami,” Yamato pushed me, “I will not listen to your nonsense anymore!”
I shoved him back, almost instinctively, “Maybe you need to listen to your friends!”
“You think you're tough? Huh, Yagami?” Tears, his fists clenched to his sides, “Well I don't care what you think.”
Yamato looked as though he was turning to leave, I reached out for him, and then he spun around and punched me. I fell, unprepared, and Yamato jumped onto me. We rolled and wrestled. The experience was almost common, however Yamato was different, it wasn't just a playful fight. I pinned him, “You are out of control, Yamato-kun!” Those eyes, the look they gave. Then he kicked me off of him, knocking the breath out of me.
“Well that's fine, Yagami,” he growled, wiping the blood from his lip, “That's just fine.”
I will always remember that fight well. Its something that I don't ever wish to repeat. Finally, I saw his apartment building. It was a good enough place to start searching. Up the stairs, and there I was. “Ishida Residence,” I knocked on the door. Silence, no answer. “Just once more,” *bang, bang bang*. Still, there was nothing. I sighed and sat against the door. “Where would you have gone, Yamato-kun,” I spoke aloud. The wind whistled between the buildings. I listened, almost expecting to hear that sad melody on his harmonica- always so talented, I smiled momentarily to myself. I would never forget the day that he did his first live with his band, “The Teenage Wolves.” Yamato was so nervous beforehand, though he would never admit it. When he got on that stage, however, well... He seemed to transform. There was a calm sense of focus, followed by an energy I could barely describe. It was as though he was singing directly to me, and to think he could have that effect in such a large crowd. I could only secretly hope that his words were meant for me. It was a comforting enough fantasy anyhow.
Let's start running, not for anyone else, but because it's better than stopping
Cutting through the clear air, turning toward the bright ocean
Oh keep on running keep on running
Find out your reality
I got up, enough time wasted, I had to keep running. Where? I wasn't quite sure, but I would find him. Takeru entered my mind. The Child of Hope. I felt that in a time like this, his crest would have still glowed.
