Chapter Four: The Service
The days before the wedding passed quickly and finally the morning arrived. All the last minute preparations were being made and all the maids and one butler were running around the estate like Pigey\'s without their heads. The guests were starting to arrive and it was only a little after noon, the actual wedding wasn\'t until two. James\' parents were busy greeting all the guests personally while inside Jesse and James were still getting ready, although in separate rooms following the tradition that the groom was not allowed to see the bride in her dress before the wedding. Ash, Misty, Pikachu, Togepi and Brock arrived and were very surprised to see Gary, Tracey, Tom, Ann, Professor Oak and…
“Mom! What are you doing here?” Ash shouted shocked to see his mother standing with Professor Oak who had his arm around her shoulder. “And Gary? Tracey? Tom and Ann too?”
“Same as everyone else, to see the wedding and wish the newlyweds good luck for the future!” Explained Mrs. Ketchum while squeezing Professor Oak\'s hand, which she was now holding. “And Ash I must say! You look so adorable in that tuxedo! My little baby boy all grown up and dressing like a big man.”
“Mom! You\'re embarrassing me in front of all these people!” Ash whined and stomped his foot, which caused Pikachu to hold on to Ash\'s shoulder a little bit tighter in fear of falling off.
“I\'m gonna make a sketch of this… Ash getting dressed up is a rare occurrence in which Pokémon Watchers such as myself must take immediate advantage of.” Tracey said and without another word, he began sketching away in a very large sketchpad.
“I just wish that you would take off that silly hat.” Delia sighed.
“Yeah Ashy boy! You need to grow up and throw that silly thing away, it\'s so out of style, like three years out.” Gary explained as he playfully tried to grab the worn out hat.
“It\'s not silly it\'s an official Pokémon Expo hat!” Ash exclaimed proudly.
“Ash, listen to your mom for once, this is a wedding not a Pokémon match.” Misty giggled.
“So um Mrs. Ketchum, has Mr. Mime been keeping your house nice and clean?” Asked Brock, switching the topic.
“Oh God here we go, come on Mist lets go find out where we\'re supposed to be.” Said Ash grabbing Misty\'s hand and together the young couple, Pikachu and Togepi walked into the house to try and find James.
“I always knew those two would hit it off, look at them Delia they\'re still holding hands.” Professor Oak pointed out.
“Yeah, they just look so cute together Grampy!” Squealed Gary.
“Yet another great sketch to add to my collection!” Tracey exclaimed. “But seriously, they do make an absolutely gorgeous couple.”
“They\'ve been official for quite some time now, I have caught them kissing once or twice.” Brock added.
“Well it\'s about time, he\'s fifteen years old already, if Ash and Misty weren\'t so close I would have thought that Ash was gay!” Laughed Delia.
Everyone laughed except the little twins dressed in their black silk kimono\'s, who didn\'t understand. They stood there, as cute as ever holding hands as always, looking up at their fathers with smiles on their chubby faces. Brock\'s face however, wore a look of “damn this woman\'s slow” and all poor Professor Oak could do was shake his head and sigh.
From somewhere a chorus of loud bells rang and everyone began taking their seats on the huge lawn. With everyone seated the priest began his mass and a few million “Amen\'s” later the wedding march started playing from the large white grand piano which was placed a few feet away from the altar. The first one down the aisle was Togepi and Pikachu escorted by Meowth, Wobbuffet, Growlithe, Weezing, Victreebel and Arbok, next came Ash and Misty arm in arm. Meowth sauntered down the isle as if he was being led to the gallows, his tuxedo flapping mournfully in the back, he would have looked quite handsome, had it not been for his disdainful mood. The dynamic duo\'s other Pokémon looked perfectly content. Two other friends walked down happily as well, Togepi ambled about as gracefully as she could next to Pikachu while sprinkling her flower pedals on the ground. The little egg Pokémon was incredibly adorable with a pink ribbon around her neck, a wreath of tiny little flowers on her head and a shear pink skirt on her waist. Pikachu was wearing a top hat slightly tilted to the side, a black tuxedo and a bowtie, carrying a lacy white pillow with two gold rings attached with ribbons, all in all the yellow electric mouse looked quite hansom. Aside from Ash wearing a tuxedo, Misty was dressed in a beautiful lavender ball gown. Embroidered flowers neatly ornamented the top and a full flowing skirt cascaded down her legs and seemed to float across the floor. She was more striking than Ash had ever seen, and even though he had taken off the “silly” hat, he felt as if he was not appropriately dressed enough to be standing next to her. Soon the procession reached the altar and stood in their proper locations. A chord was played for five seconds before the pianist continued on with the march; this indicated to the guests that the bride was going to be walking down the aisle next. At the front of the aisle where James had been standing for what seemed like an eternity, he nervously awaited the arrival of his bride. Jesse suddenly appeared, she was absolutely stunning and James\' mouth wasn\'t the only one that dropped. No one could believe their eyes, especially James. “She look\'s like an angel straight down from Heaven.” He thought. The wedding dress Jesse was wearing was exquisite; Adolph Von Hitler had truly out done himself. Sewn into the bodice were probably hundreds if not thousands of petite diamonds, the skirt was made of pure white silk with pearls beaded into the embroidery, and lets not forget about the train which extended at least twenty feet behind her down the aisle also embellished with pearls and diamonds. There was nothing more you could say about it, it was simply just plain beautiful. A masterpiece of modern, no perhaps all fashion. She finally reached James at the front of the aisle, and he slowly took her gloved hands in his. “This is it.” He thought, they were going to be together forever.
“Do you Jessebelle take this man James to be your lawfully wedded husband to hold in sickness and in health for richer or for poorer till death do you part?” The Priest asked.
“I do.” Were the two perfect words that escaped her red lips.
“And do you James take this woman Jessebelle to be your lawfully wedded wife to hold in sickness and in health for richer or for poorer till death do you part?” The Priest asked.
“I do.” The voice was strong, clear and determined.
“May I please have the rings?” The Priest asked as Pikachu walked up to Jesse and James and handed them their rings. Then the couple placed their rings on each other\'s fingers and the Priest stated. “By the power invested in me by the region of Kanto, I now pronounce you man and wife… you may kiss the bride.”
James pulled back the veil to reveal an even more attractive Jesse. He looked at her longingly as the couple slowly brought their lips together and began an incredibly passionate kiss. After what seemed like a millennium, that brought some people to begin timing the exceedingly lengthy make-out session, they finally pulled away and turned to face the congregation.
“I present to you Mr. and Mrs. James…” Before the Priest could finish an uproar of cheers and applause exploded from the spectators. The bells tolled and with the help of a microphone the pianist played as loudly as he possibly could, since everyone was now up and walking to the reception.
