Chapter 4
Thanks again for the reviews!! ^_^ And I just want to clarify thi this has no specific time period. Inui is not on the team, but he is practicing with them sometimes.
Disclaimer: Nope, don’t own them but I’m bidding on an InuiKai doujin right now on ebay! Wish me luck!! ::wantwantwant::

My eyes flew open after what seemed like forever. Had I fallen asleep? No. I didn’t dream, and I was sure that night and for a long time coming I would be dreaming about what had just happened. I could feel Inui’s head on my chest, and hear the rhythmic breathing coming from him. I hoped he wasn’t really asleep.
I suddenly became very aware of my surroundings. I was still undressed, and we were lying on the tennis court, more towards the corner. It was dark out, but the moon was not yet high. I wondered briefly what time it was, hoping it wasn’t too late. I didn’t want to be in trouble with my parents. Above us the trees blocked out a good portion of the sky, making it look darker than it was. Far off I could hear the cars from the city, and a few voices shouting closer by. Okay, so if there were still people out, it couldn’t be that late.
Inui stirred then, and looked up at me, grinning. Sometimes that grin was rather unnerving. I felt my face heat up again under that intense gaze. “Finally awake?” He asked me. My face must have paled.
“Finally? What time is it, senpai?”
“Only eight thirty.” I breathed a sigh of relief. I told my parents I might be late tonight. It still wasn’t late by their standards. We stopped talking, just lying there. Every passing second I was starting to feel more and more anxious. We should move, I tried to convince myself, someone could find us.
But every time I tried to move, Inui’s body was lying on mine, pinning me down. And I hurt. I didn’t want to move.
“Kaidoh…” He started, looking away.
“Hai, senpai?” I blushed as he sat up, tossing me my clothes. I tried to pull them on quickly, but found movement was hard. Had he read my mind? I shuddered inwardly. My back hurt from laying on the tennis courts… as well as a lower region. It ached like nothing I’ve ever felt before. It was painful, yet not so bad that it was oddly somewhat pleasant. Maybe it’s just because of WHY it hurt.
“Kaidoh…” He said again. He was dressed now, and running his hand awkwardly through his hair. Oh God… did he regret this? Was it a mistake? “About what happened…” He stood and looked down at me. I looked away. Here it comes. He’s not going to want to see me again. This WAS a mistake. It wasn’t supposed to happen. We’re not like this. This never should have happened.
I didn’t realize it, but he was squatting in front of me now. I felt his eyes looking my still shirtless body over, appraising. One hand reached out and cupped my chin, guiding me to look at him. I couldn’t. I looked at the ground instead.
“Kaidoh, look at me.”
“Iya, senpai. I’m sorry if I have made you angry.” I whispered. He chuckled.
“Oh Kaidoh. You think I’m angry?” Inui’s slightly evil grin wiped off his face and he smiled now, gently. “I’m not mad at you. Did I hurt you?” He asked carefully. I shook my head. A lie.
“Iya, senpai.”
“Are you sure?”
“Hai.” My ass was aching now. He pulled my face closer to him, kissing me gently before helping me stand. My legs were like jello. I didn’t know how I was going to make it home.
“It’s getting late. I’ll walk you home.”
“It’s alright, senpai. I can manage.” I really wanted some time to think. He shook his head, protesting.
“No. I’ll walk with you.” I hissed in defeat. I couldn’t reject his offer more than once. It would be rude. We grabbed our things and packed them up, me moving slower than usual. The pain was fading now to a dull ache, now a pleasant reminder of our encounter.
We left the courts and park silently, neither of us able to look at the other. I walked with my head down, face burning. I could feel his gaze on me occasionally, but he would look away whenever we passed someone. I wished the silence would break. It was unnerving.
We finally reached my street, and I turned to let him know I could make it home on my own. He new what was coming and nodded as I opened my mouth to speak. “I’ll see you tomorrow at practice.” He grinned. I nodded, ready to leave when he grabbed my elbow, effectively locking me in place.
“Kaidoh-kun?” I blushed. “I have no regrets.” I nodded as yet again he closed the distance to my lips. No regrets? Senpai… neither do I.
So that’s how it was. Just like that. Completely random and ignorant to all the careful calculations I made. Whatever worked us up to that moment I still can’t understand, and I’m constantly replaying it over and over in my mind, trying to decode it. But it remains elusive. More so than Tezuka’s data. It’s frustrating, to say the least.
But it doesn’t stop there. I went hope after walking Kaidoh to his house, and recorded the data, showered, and went to bed, my mind running wild with dreams of my lover. The day after would certainly pose to be interesting, that’s for sure. And oh, how right I was.
Classes went by normally enough. Nothing strange happened until practice. We were in the clubhouse, and everyone changed for practice, leaving as they were done to meet up on the courts. Kaidoh wasn’t there. I was a bit worried that he would skip out. Tezuka would not be pleased with that.
But he didn’t skip out. He was already waiting on the courts when I finally arrived. Had he not wanted to run into me? Was he embarrassed by what happened? I caught his eye and grinned. His response was a dark blush. Guess he was.
Kaidoh was placed against Momoshiro. It would make an interesting match. The two of them glared at each other, neither wanting to give. I stared, taking notes, wondering how it would end. It was an eighty-seven percent chance that it would be Kaidoh, since he had increased his training outside of practice, whereas Momoshiro only did extensive training during the given time.
Of course my calculations were correct when Kaidoh used his finishing shot on Momoshiro, who muttered about him being lucky today. I grinned. Kaidoh looked over my way, blushing. And then Fuji approached me. Tell me how the tensai sees these things when no one else can?
“Kaidoh is doing very well today, ne, Inui?”
“Hai. His training program has been altered to increase his stamina and strength. He’ll be able to return Taka’s shots with ease given a little time.”
“Stamina, Inui? Aaahh.” He smiled, though not necessarily friendly, his eyes crinkled up. I sighed.
“What is it?”
“Nothing. Is something the matter, Inui? You seem to have something else on your mind. Or should I say someone?” His smile deepened.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Fuji.”
“I think you do.”
“Not really, so would you care to explain it to me?” I grinned back. He liked these kiof gof games. I could tell he was enjoying this.
“I wonder how Tezuka would feel about a certain regular being distracted from his training.”
“Ahh. Well, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind since he’s the one doing the distracting, ne, Fuji.” Fuji frowned temporarily. Apparently he hadn’t realized I knew what he was up to with Tezuka. The smile returned, but I could tell it was genuine this time.
“First time?”
“Hai.” Not that it was any of husinusiness. But he wouldn’t be telling anyone too soon. Not when I knew what he and Tezuka were doing out of practice. He smiled and wandered away, leaving me to think.
Enjoy this chapter! Even though this story is all about Inui and Kaidoh, I just have to throw in the standard pairings. And pretty soon I\'ll be having lots of fun with the boys. ^_^ Angst maybe? Just a little bit... confusion... the like. We\'ll see. Thanks for all the Im\'s too! It\'s great talking to everyone! ^_^
jd-ayane: sadly I don\'t have MSN. Just AIM. And I do have a yahoo messenger screen name, but I no longer have the program. If anyone has that I can try to reinstall it.
I also use SoulSeek. Same SN there too. ^_^;;; It\'s just easier to use the same one.
