A little later they finally returned back in root town. The trio immediately
tried to enter Broken Wings Of
Timeless Space, but to their disappointment they found out that it was
protected. They needed three B cores, and right now they had none.

However, as soon as they entered Mac Anu, they had to run to the item shop and they
hid themselves behind some boxes. The knights were running around and they were
capturing players in the process.

Kite looked to the item store and noticed that the administrator that used to
run the item store was gone. So it was true then, all of the administrators
were gone� vanished into thin air.

Things really hadn�t changed much in all those years. It always seemed that there
was always something wrong in The World.

� So how are we going to a level with monsters with B cores? � Asked Tsukasa
when he backed away when a knight came running by.

� Fighting right now is the last option � Whispered Balmung. � There are no
more item stores, so we should avoid potions as much as possible. I think the
only option is to run to the Chaos Gate and warp us quickly to a suitable level
�

Kite looked up at a knight that run across the bridge and shook his head. No,
running was also out of the question. The knights ran much faster than them, so
they had to make up another plan.

� Grunties� � Said Kite, lost in thought. � I think that if I can summon a
Grunty to root town here that we can jump on his back and go to another level.

Everyone was quiet for a moment and then Balmung began to speak.

� It is a possibility, however, you have to play on the flute to call it and
the sound of the flute will make enough to let every single knight know where
we are �

That was true, but without the flute no Grunty. But there was one possibility
to play it where the knights could hear it, but where the trio can�t be
discovered.

A knight walked to the item store and looked around if he could find some other
players. Things were getting kind of dangerous now, so Kite pointed to the
small river and signaled that everyone should get in.

Tsukasa had a gaze in his eyes that said � are you serious?! � But Kite was one
hundred percent sure of his case. If they could jump into the water and walk
under the bridge, then they couldn�t be discovered by the knight since they
would not search there.

Balmung was the first one to jump into the water. There was a loud splash
because of his armor and a couple of knights looked around, but Balmung kept
swimming underwater until he reached the bridge. Then he came back to the
surface and took a deep breath. He showed his thumb to the other two and now it
was Tsukasa�s turn, much to his annoyance. The wavemaster held his wand closely
to his chest and jumped into the water, making almost no noise doing so. The
grey haired boy looked up to see what point the knight on the bridge was looking
at, but the coast was clear. He hurried under the bridge and when he stood next
to Balmung he gave the twin blader the signal to join.

Just when he wanted to jump he heard two knights talking and he decided to hide
a little longer. Every point of information that they could gather would be
their advantage to get rid of the pesky knights.

� It�s about time that we found that Kite player. Staying up three days and two
nights isn�t doing me any good you know? �

� Yeah I know what you are talking about. I�ve been skipping my work for over
five days now! It�s good that I have so many free days or else I would have in
a huge pinch here �

� I�m still wondering what >he< wants with that Kite person. I know that he
wants the bracelet, but I think that�s not all that he wants �

� No there is something more going on, but I guess we are not important enough
to know such things. And to be honest, I don�t give a damn. The salary is good
and I always wanted to see this game�s downfall. Damn the CC Corporation for
banning me! �

So that�s it. The knights were ordinary players just like him, only their
characters were probably created by the one that hired them. That�s the reason
why he couldn�t data drain them and that they were killed in the process. But
people aren�t supposed to die in The World. There were a lot of
questions that Kite wanted to ask as soon as he found Wiseman, so it�s about
time he got serious.

He jumped into the water and when he made contact with the water he was stunned
for a moment. This was� unbelievable! It almost felt like he was swimming in
the real world! His clothing was soaked wet and he couldn�t breathe! In the
real world he was soaked wet as well. He could feel his wet hair sticking on
his forehead, and droplets falling down his cheeks. This was getting really
scary!

This was supposed to be a GAME!

He swam with all his might to the duo and as soon as he reached the surface he
gasped for air. Both Balmung and Tsukasa looked a little annoyed at the time
that Kite took to come over at their place, but he had some really interesting
information to tell them.

As soon as he finished his story about the talk between the two knights he saw
that agitated look into the duo�s eyes disappear.

� So you are trying to say that it are ordinary people? � Whispered Balmung
softly, because there was still a knight standing on the bridge.

� Just as normal as you and me � Replied Kite quietly when he looked up. � I
believe they are hired by someone that really hates this game �

� I don�t think it�s only hate � Said Tsukasa, joining the conversation. � It�s
more like he want to take over The World. It must be a really good hacker�
Think about it, how many different servers are here? English, Japanse, Dutch,
Spanish, German� just name it. He has closed off all the servers so that no one
is able to log in or log out anymore. He�s also capable of capturing A LOT of
gamers and you have to be strong to overmaster all of them. All of this
information made me thinking; Is this just one person�s doing, or a whole group
of them? �

It went silent. Tsukasa surely had a point there, there was no way that a
single person could be responsible for all of this. They had to work with a
whole group to keep million of gamers trapped in The World.

� But why would they want to take over The World? This is just an ordinary game
isn�t it? �

� You are mistaken Balmung � Said Tsukasa with venom in his voice. � Please. Don�t
forget what happened five years ago. A game isn�t supposed to act on his own,
and I think these people know that too. They must know something that we don�t and
that give them a huge advantage on us �

Kite grabbed the flute out of his pocket. He was sick of all of this, sick that
there was constantly something wrong in The World. There was no longer
enjoyment left here, only despair and fear for the next hacker and viruses.

He was going to end this all! From now on, he was going to make sure that The
World was going to be an ordinary game and not a life threatening one!

The twin blader played on the flute and the trio kept their mouth immediately.
Knights were running around with the words that they had heard something, but
that they didn�t knew where it came from.

Kite snickered softly and he almost wanted to yell: � Down here, suckers! �

The Iron grunty appeared in front of him, and Kite thanked the heavens that one
of his grunties were able to enter this server. Also, the iron grunty was the fastest
grunty in The World so escaping would be a lot easier right now.

The three of them jumped on the back of the pig like creature and awaited the
moment to jump back on land, and ride to the Chaos Gate.

Balmung � That sat behind Kite � placed his arms around the twin blader and
Kite looked over his shoulder.

� I�m really glad that you came back to The World� I really� missed you a lot
you know �

Kite smiled dimly.

� Master, I think this is the best opportunity to make a run for it, CLANG! All
of the knights are at the square right now, CLANG! �

The twin blader gave a nod.

� GO! �

The grunty jumped out of the water ( which making a terrible noise in the
progess ) and began to run for the chaos gate. They could see the knights in
the distance and they began to head into their direction.

In the real world, Kite was holding his controller so tightly that he almost
couldn�t feel his fingers anymore. He had to hit the right buttons in a few
seconds�!

The grunty hit the Chaos gate and Kite immediately hit the right buttons to go
to their destination.

But he made one mistake� He also transported a few knights with him�
