Chapter #4
A/N: how’s it going my patient, patient readers who will not throw any fruits or vegetables at me for taking so long. Sorry. I got addicted to angst writing and they made me all depressing and highly incapable of writing Happy-Fluffy-goodness like this fiction. So I started writing a dark fic but never really finished. Oh well. I might finish later but I should probably try to finish what I’ve already started first. So here you go!

Chapter #4
Luffy has got us in trouble YET AGAIN. Though I admit this time it’s not with blood thirsty, cannon-happy Buccaneers. This time we’re being run out of the town we just saved by angry villagers. It’s actually funny that he would so openly admit that we were pirates and he knocked their mayor out.
The tables have turned on me. Originally that stupidity was what I hated about him, but now it’s the only way I can even imagine him. He just wouldn’t be Luffy without it. That’s the only way to describe it. At the beginning his stupidity ,or maybe he’s just naïve either way, was a set back, a curse, but now it’s what makes him. He wouldn’t be the same without it, and I don’t want him any different.
Of course I can’t run due to my injuries so he has to run with my arm over his shoulder and his hand on my waist keeping me close to him so I can escape. It’s a weird feeling. I curse inwardly for looking so dependent, but for some reason I don’t really mind it. It’s really kinda nice. After wandering on my own for god knows how long, it’s a real comfort to know I’ve got him there to lean on or in this case I’ve got him there to practically carry me. Someone who has never known loneliness would have no idea what I’m talking about, but those who have know what’s its like to realize you’re not alone anymore. you don’t have to be all powerful. Sometimes it’s nice to remember that I’m only human and I’m allowed to be human. He reminded me of that.
The run is over all too quickly. I really can’t explain it why I wanted to continue to be that close to him. Nami’s boat is a larger vessel than ours, and so the smartest thing to do would be for two of the three to ride there an one in there original boat , but I smile to myself when he decides for the two of us to ride together.
The endless sea is the only thing surrounding us on all sides. Relaxing, calming waves slowly rocking the boat. The navigator has somehow managed to keep Luffy’s attention for more than two seconds by starting to sew his hat. The blood loss is starting to take a toll on me and I let out one final yawn before drifting into a much needed rest.
