Where is Shuichi?
Two Weeks Later. . .
Yuki whistled softly as he walked through the doors of NG Pro. He was finally done his latest novel (which was sure to be a record breaking success) and Shuichi had just finished his latest CD and would be getting a month off for all his hard work. It light of both of these facts Yuki was taking Shuichi away. They were going to a small resort in Northern Japan, just the two of them. Yuki couldn’t wait. One blissful month of just him and his Shu-chan. No Tohma popping in to annoy him (or drag Shuichi off to yet another publicity stunt), no K-san aiming his considerable arsenal at them, no hysterical Sakano, annoyed Suguru or over-protective Hiro. Most importantly NO Aly-chan.
For the last two-weeks, despites Yuki’s attempts to stop him, Shuichi had continued to see the woman. She would be at the studio, attend concerts or simply be wherever Shuichi was. It was infuriating. He had forbidden his baka to mention her name in his presence but even though Shuichi complied, Yuki still knew every detail of the time they spent together. Mainly because it was all over the news. Every tabloid in the city wanted to know whom the new person in Shuichi’s life was. Was she a friend? Relative? Or was she replacing Yuki? ‘Not damn likely!’ Just last night that woman had caused yet another fight between him and Shuichi. Which was why he was here early today, he had to apologize or his romantic getaway with his adorable Shu-chan would never happen. He couldn’t believe he’d let his anger get the best of him the day before their trip.
*Flashback*
Shuichi had come home, as he always did, bursting with energy. Even after a long day at work, filled with public appearances, recording sessions and endless meetings about the upcoming tours, CDs and everything else that was part of being a famous singer, Shuichi was always full of energy. Doing what he loved energized Shuichi, so that no matter how hard he had to work to accomplish his goals he was never tired. Eventually he would crash, the long days, early mornings and late nights, the lack of food, rest (and ‘Eiri-time’ as Shuichi called it) would catch up to him, but the crashes were few and far between and over the years Yuki had developed the ability to sense when one of these crashes was imminent and would force Shuichi to rest.
Shuichi burst through the door calling out Yuki’s name. Yuki was in his office and heard that amazing voice, but didn’t respond. He didn’t need to, Shuichi always seemed to know where he was, instinctively coming to wherever Yuki happened to be. He rarely had to check more than one room, usually getting it right on the first try. Yuki leaned back in his chair and waited for the door to crash open. He didn’t have to wait long. Almost before he could wince at the sound of the door hitting the wall his lap was filled with pink-haired baka.
“Eiri! I’m so happy to be home! I missed you! Did you miss me? Did you have a good day? How’s your book coming along? Did you remember to eat lunch? You have to remember to eat! I couldn’t bear it if anything happened to you! Please Eiri you can’t die and leave me you can’t!”
Yuki didn’t bother to try and answer any of the questions or respond to the idea that he would die and leave Shuichi. He’d learned long ago that it was simply impossible to get a word in edgewise when Shuichi was talking like this. Rather he tuned out the words and let the soothing sound of the voice he loved flow over him. He was jerked out of his trance when the name “Aly-chan” reached his ears.
“Shuichi! I told you I don’t want to hear that name mentioned in my presence ever again!”
“But Eiri! This is important! Aly-chan said...”
“I don’t care if Aly-chan says the world is coming to an end! I don’t what to hear her name! EVER!”
“Eiri!” Shuichi whined and whimpered in the back of his throat.
“NO!”
Yuki stood up, carrying Shuichi to the door. He paused in the open doorway before unceremoniously dumping Shuichi on the ground. “You can stay out here until you learn to listen to me when I tell you something!” And with those snarled words he slammed the door in Shuichi’s face. Outside that barrier of wood he could hear Shuichi pleading with him, sobbing. He ignored the sounds and eventually he’d heard footsteps moving slowly away. A short while later the front door had opened and Shuichi had left the house.
*End Flashback*
Yuki hadn’t seen Shuichi since and he knew he had to apologize. Shuichi hated making him mad, so for him to go against Yuki’s wishes and mention Aly-chan there had probably been a good reason. One of the few things Yuki could count on was Shuichi’s need to make him happy and there weren’t many things that could induce Shuichi to take steps that were counterproductive to that goal. Yuki strode across the lobby flashing a cool look at the receptionist before entering the elevator.
The staff made sure they knew who he was, especially after the last time. A new receptionist had tried to deny him access to Shuichi, thinking him to be a fan or some such thing. Yuki snorted ‘As if I’d even listen to Shu-chan’s music were I not his lover!’ After Yuki had proceeded to scare the poor girl out of her wits the rest of the staff had taken care to inform any and all employees working in the same building as Bad Luck of his identity and he’d never had a problem again.
The elevator dinged as it reached it’s destination and Yuki stepped off. He was just about to turn towards the recording studio when he heard a voice call out his name.
“Eiri-chan! Thank Kami! Have you seen Shindou-san? He didn’t come into work this morning!”
Yuki looked at Tohma, confused. Why was he freaking out? Tohma’s face was flushed and he was panting as if he’d been racing around the building looking for Shuichi. ‘But why would he do that? Sure over the last few years Shuichi has learned to be more punctual but he’s still late all the time. Why the fuss?’
“I haven’t seen him since last night Tohma. He and I got into a fight and he left the house. I just assumed he went to Nakano’s. I came here to apologise.” Yuki’s eyes widened in shock at the emotions that ran over the usually emotionless face of the NG Shacho.
“Eiri-chan! Why aren’t you more worried? Didn’t Shindou-san tell you? He told us he informed you!”
“Told me what? What going on Tohma? What are you so worked up about?” Yuki whirled around as a new voice reached his ears, the one voice he did NOT want to hear.
“Told you that he was in danger, Yuki-san. He assured us that he would warn you about the current threat.”
“Threat? What threat? What are you talking about?”
“I don’t have time to explain. We need to find Shu-chan and we need to find him now!” Aly turned and started to walk away, ignoring Yuki completely.
Yuki’s hand lasted out. The woman wouldn’t get away with this. She would answer his questions and NOW! His hand closed around her wrist and then, suddenly the world spun. When Yuki could finally see straight he found himself pinned to the floor and small knee pressed to the middle of his back, his arm twisted around behind him. A soft, deadly voice whispered in his ear. “Do not test me Yuki-san. You won’t win and I do not have time to deal with you at the moment. Shu-chan may very well be in danger and I must act quickly if we are to have any chance of saving him before he is taken out of the country. Practice patience and I will answer your questions when I get the chance. Or you could speak with Tohma-san as he seems to know more about the danger that threatens your lover than you do.” With those words Aly released him and raced down the hallway, never looking back.
Yuki stood and watched her go. His Shu-chan was in danger? Why hadn’t he told him? Then Yuki remembered that Shuichi had been trying to tell him something last night and that he’d refused to listen. He turned to Tohma and the look on the other man’s face made his blood run cold. Something was very, VERY wrong here and Yuki had a sinking feeling that somehow it was all his fault.
A/N Okay guys from here on out things are going to get pretty bad for Eir and his Shu-chan, but don't worry it will all work out in the end, mostly.
