Chapter 4: Together Under Parasols
Saturday morning saw Tsukune pacing around the bus stop, the pace of which picked up as the designated time neared. Kurumu had seemed to be feeling better each day as he and the others visited her, but the thought crossed his mind that she might’ve been putting on a brave face for everyone else’s sake. What if she isn’t feeling well enough for a trip to the beach? he wondered to himself. Maybe it was dumb for me to think she could just bounce back from such a serious illness so quickly. The young man sighed. Everything’s so complicated now. I told outer Moka I love her, which is the truth; but I have feelings for the other girls too. I’ve even acted on these feelings with Yukari and Mizore, and I want to with Kurumu. He imagined the two of them alone in his room at home, where she reclined stark naked, propped up on one elbow; one thigh draped over the other, obscuring her groin. His memory supplied the sight of her nude form from the time the girls all showed up at his house, intent on having him all to themselves. Fantasy-Kurumu gave him a bit-lip smile of eager anticipation, her gaze smoldering with desire.“I’m going to make good on that promise I made when I snuck into your bath,” imaginary Kurumu purred. She winked saucily and made a show of making room for him to join her on the bed. He did so with a deep kiss planted on her lips. She hummed with delight and wrapped him in her arms.“Tsukune!” she cried as he entered her. She felt so hot and slick and tight around him that he couldn’t refrain from thrusting into her with abandon. “You naughty boy! You just couldn’t wait to be inside me, could you? Oh, Tsukune!”Something seemed off about her voice, though. When she called out his name again, it sort of echoed in his ear. Tsukune shook his head to clear the fantasy he’d conjured to see the real Kurumu approaching. The young man’s face flushed at having been caught indulging in such thoughts about his date by his date, even though he knew she probably wouldn’t object and might, in fact, approve and want to enact those thoughts. Before he fully returned to reality, Kurumu closed the distance between them and wrapped him in an enthusiastic embrace. Tsukune noted, however, that it was much less subdued than her usual flying tackle. He also noted that, unlike usual, his face wasn’t buried in her cleavage and that, also unlike usual, he was in no danger of suffocation. The young man still felt the young woman’s bosom pressed against him, which didn’t help him calm down from his fantasy.“Uh, morning, Kurumu,” he managed. He slowly returned the embrace as the surprise wore off.“Good morning, Tsukune,” she cooed back. “I’m so excited to finally have you all to myself for a day. Yahoo!”“I was a little worried you wouldn’t show,” he told her, “after… well, after how you’ve looked all week.”“Don’t worry. I feel much better,” she reassured him. “I’ve been feeling stronger each day, thanks to your tender care.” She looked up at him, a mischievous gleam in her eye. “Of course, I’d have felt better faster if you’d just given me the usual treatment. I could be completely cured with just one injection,” she couldn’t help but tease.Tsukune reddened at the blatant innuendo, especially since he’d just been fantasizing about doing exactly that for probably the twenty-seventh time this week. “I, uh, wanted to take you, uh, on a date first… at least,” he stammered in a pitiful attempt to play along. “I’d, um, feel like I was, um, taking advantage of you otherwise.”Kurumu giggled, rose up on her toes since she was several centimeters shorter than Tsukune, and kissed his cheek. “You’re sweet,” she explained to the stunned young man. “That’s one of the reasons I love you.” Realizing what she’d said, she clapped her hand over her mouth.Tsukune chuckled nervously. “It’s okay; you told me that last year, before we even joined the Newspaper Club.”“I remember,” Kurumu replied sheepishly, not at all proud of how she’d acted towards him when they’d first met. “I meant it then, and my feelings haven’t changed at all: I’m totally in love with you, Tsukune Aono.” The young man started to reply, but she silenced him with a finger on his lips. “Don’t reply yet if you’re not sure. I’ve waited this long already; I can wait a little longer.”The rumble of the bus approaching spared Tsukune the need to respond. He checked his watch, which read 8:42. Ever the gentleman, he let Kurumu board first while gathering her satchel. “Right on time,” he complimented the bus driver as he embarked. The bus driver raised an eyebrow. “When am I not, kid?” he asked around his cigar. With a glance back at Kurumu, who’d seated herself on the back row, the driver added, “So this is the path you’re taking, huh?”“I guess so,” the young man replied, not entirely sure what was meant. The driver shrugged. “You could’ve taken an easier route, that’s all,” he informed the young man. “Instead, you’ve chosen the most… interesting one. Good luck, kid.”Tsukune nodded, still confused, and made his way back to his seat beside Kurumu. “What was that all about?” he muttered.“I was wondering the same thing,” Kurumu answered, even though the question wasn’t directed to her.Soon, the bus entered the portal, the passageway between Yokai Academy and the human world. The trip proved uneventful, beyond Kurumu sidling up against Tsukune and resting her head on his shoulder. The young man let her, slowly becoming accustomed to the casual nature of contact with his date, who seemed overall rather tactile. He tried not to dwell on the implications of that, for fear of springing a nosebleed. Both teens dozed as the bus hummed along, the sound combining with the hypnotic swirl of colors outside the window to lull them into drowsiness. Kurumu rested her cheek on Tsukune’s shoulder, a small, contented smile gracing her lips. Tsukune’s head perched atop Kurumu’s. The bus driver chuckled silently at the tableau appearing in the rear-view mirror and shook his head. “You’d better buckle up, kid,” he advised the unconscious young man. “It’s gonna be a wild ride from here out.”~~~~~The bus coming to a complete stop awakened Kurumu and Tsukune. The teens gathered their beach supplies – Tsukune’s in a backpack and Kurumu’s in an over-the-shoulder satchel – and disembarked with a friendly wave to the driver. “See you both tomorrow at 11:11 sharp,” he told them. Before they could reply, the bus doors shut and the vehicle peeled out, soon disappearing over the horizon.“What the hell?” cried Kurumu. “Where are we supposed to stay overnight?”Tsukune frowned. “I could’ve sworn he made late-afternoon runs. Moka and I took the 4:44 for our date.” He sighed and scratched the back of his head, a nervous tic of his. “Maybe we can find a… hotel room on short notice,” he suggested. The young man’s face reddened from the memory of what happened the last time he’d stayed overnight in a hotel room with one of the girls from the Newspaper Club, a memory which had contributed to the pause in his speech at that moment. Not that I hate what happened, he mused, just the opposite. But I just feel wrong, somehow, if I hope that it happens again this time with Kurumu – like I’m just using her for her body.Kurumu looked up at him with a mischievous gleam in her eyes. “You’re sure you didn’t plan this, you naughty boy?” she teased, leaning in and lowering her eyelids seductively.“No! It’s not like that!” he replied, deflecting mostly out of habit and because she’d hit closer to home than he would’ve liked. It’s a little like that, he admitted to himself, feeling like the lowest of the low.The young woman’s brow furrowed. “Fine – have it your way,” she answered, a bit huffily. “Let’s find a spot to set up our blanket.” She pointed at the mostly-empty sand dotted here and there with folded-up parasols, the use of which beach-goers like them could rent from a stand about two hundred meters from the bus stop.“Do you wanna rent one of the parasols?” Tsukune asked with a knowing smile.“Of course,” replied Kurumu with a sly grin of her own. I really love that he remembers that performance, she mused. It means that he has been paying attention to me, at least sometimes.En route, the two teens took the time to appreciate each other’s beach wear. Tsukune, to Kurumu’s chagrin, wore a boring white tee and, to her delighted surprise, teal swim trunks with a purple stripe down the side. Kurumu sported a knee-length lemon-yellow sundress with thin, lacy straps; the garment clung to her curves and showed no shortage of cleavage, as well as displaying how the mustard-yellow strap of her bikini top wrapped around and fastened behind her neck. Tsukune found himself anticipating what the bikini would look like, once revealed. The teens paid for the parasol mostly without incident, though the fellow manning the stand obviously checked out the buxom young woman. Kurumu folded her arms protectively over her bosom, while Tsukune glared at the man, who had the good sense to find something else to demand his attention. Tsukune and Kurumu then headed for their parasol, which awaited not too far away and – more importantly, as far as Tsukune was concerned – out of the line of sight of the rental stand. In no time, they opened the parasol and spread out the beach blanket from Tsukune’s pack.Tsukune tried not to stare when his date removed her sundress, revealing her bikini-clad body. The swimsuit itself covered more than he might’ve expected while still displaying Kurumu’s curves; the top in particular seemed to strain under the weight it supported, clinging as if for dear life. Top and bottom alike sported a slight frill on the edges, trim that drew attention to her cleavage and the curve of her rear. The young man’s face warmed as he fought to rein in his imagination.Kurumu tried not to stare when her date removed his shirt, even though she’d caught him looking her over. Just the thought of his eyes on her body brought a smile to her face. The smile vanished, however, replaced with a deep frown, when she caught sight of the myriad scars on Tsukune’s body, souvenirs of his “adventures” with her and the other girls: just above the right hip, a coin-sized circle, a result of one of Ruby’s plant monsters impaling him; on his chest, a palm-sized burn scar, courtesy of former Security Committee president Kuyo, so powerful he’d even managed to fight inner Moka evenly for a short time; and, last but not least, two small dots on his neck, a gift from the silver-haired vampire herself. Kurumu hadn’t figured out how or why inner Moka’s bite had left marks while outer Moka’s didn’t, and she wasn’t sure whether or not asking Tsukune would constitute prying; but she did know, deep down, that she wouldn’t like the answer when she found out. Both teens’ eyes met. Both teens realized they’d been staring. Both teens reddened with embarrassment.“Kurumu, you, um, probably don’t need me to tell you this,” Tsukune stumbled, “but you’re… really beautiful.”The succubus giggled shyly. “Why thank you, Tsukune,” she replied. “You’re wrong, though – I do need you to tell me, as often as you can.” She winked, and he chuckled. “If I want to stay that way, I’ll need to put on some sunscreen. Do you need some too?”“Yeah, thanks,” he answered, realizing he’d forgotten to bring his own and feeling like an idiot for forgetting. Kurumu handed him the bottle after she took her share, her hand brushing his so subtly that Tsukune at first thought he’d imagined it. The young man soon found himself distracted, though, by the sight of his date’s hands roaming her own body as she applied the shiny, slippery substance to her skin, especially the way certain areas… jiggled… with every movement and how her hands slipped underneath the edges of the bottoms and the top’s cups, giving him glimpses of even more skin. Once again, the young man battled his own imagination.“Would you mind getting my back? I can’t quite reach,” requested Kurumu over her shoulder. “I’ll take care of you too,” she added with a flirty lilt in her voice.“Huh? Oh, uh, sure,” he answered absently. Tsukune poured some sunscreen into his hands, but it wasn’t until he began spreading the thick liquid across Kurumu’s upper back that his brain caught up to the situation. Oh, man, her skin is so soft and smooth, he marveled. I’m rubbing my hands all over one of the hottest girls I’ve ever seen, in public. This beach date is already the best date idea I’ve ever had.Kurumu sighed as Tsukune applied the sunscreen. Feeling his hands on her skin was stoking a fire in her veins, a primal, essential yearning deep within her. She had to fight the urge to moan aloud. Stupid succubus body, she grumbled to herself, getting turned on at the littlest thing like this. Nonetheless, she couldn’t deny how wonderful his touch felt, how fulfilling to have his undivided attention for once. Her mind wandered, and hoped his hands might do likewise; she began to wonder just how wonderful and fulfilling it might feel if she’d let him apply sunscreen to her front as well…“I… I think th-that’s good,” she stammered, trying to regulate her breathing and pull her thoughts from their current heading. Let’s not have a repeat of the other day during class, shall we?Tsukune swallowed and pulled his hands away slowly, as if they were made of iron and he were pulling against a powerful magnet. The young man then began covering his own skin with the protective fluid, since he’d spaced out earlier. He nearly jumped out of his skin when he felt Kurumu’s hands on his back.“Relax, Tsukune,” she soothed. “I won’t try anything funny,” she assured him as her fingers danced along his flesh. Even though his muscles lacked tone, Kurumu nevertheless savored the sensation of Tsukune’s smooth skin. The subtle tension in his shoulders, along with a sneaky glance at his groin, confirmed to her that he also liked the feel of her hands on him, maybe as much as he’d enjoyed the reverse moments ago. “Unless you ask,” she teased, leaning forward just enough for her breath to tickle his ear and for her ample bosom to brush against him.The human boy swallowed as his cheeks reddened, only the thought So soft echoing through his thoughts. “N-No th-thanks,” he stammered, while thinking, Maybe later, to himself.“Pity,” Kurumu joked as she backed off from her date, nonplussed that one of her advances had once more been deflected, since she hadn’t been all that serious about it in the first place. I hope he doesn’t think I’m such a slut I’ll do perverted things in public, she fretted. I’m not that kind of girl – though, in private would be a different story…Shaking her head to clear it of such thoughts, Kurumu asked her date, “What should we do first, Tsukune? We could go swimming, though you’d have to teach me how,” she suggested. “I also brought a volleyball and Frisbee. I’m so excited for a chance to play with you one-on-one.” Frustrated, she berated herself: I just can’t help myself, can I?Tsukune chuckled nervously at the innuendo, thinking, I can never tell if they’re intentional or not. Aloud, he answered, “Let’s go with the volleyball. You seemed to like that when we were here last time with everyone else.”Kurumu nodded eagerly, a wide grin on her face. “It’s my favorite sport, and the only one I’m any good at,” she replied. “Don’t worry, though – I’ll go easy on you.”With a playful wink, she fished the lined neon-yellow sphere from her bag – during which time Tsukune couldn’t help but notice how her rear appeared nearly as pillowy as her bosom – and took about twenty paces from their blanket. Tsukune followed and staked a position about twenty paces away from his date, roughly parallel to the water line. Once he indicated he was ready, she served him.____________________________________________________________________________
