"Yuki", Kyo said, almost whispering it, "Yuki the curse, the cat, it's gone, are you?" he trailed off as Yuki buried his head deeper into Tohru's shoulder and sobbed even harder. Tohru stared at Kyo with desperate hope and shock in her eyes, "Kyo, the curse, is it gone?!"

Kyo felt speechless, he didn't know what to say, he knew it was true, the curse was really broken, but he couldn't form the words, he pulled away from the other two and looked at his beads. They were a source of hate, pain, suffering, despair, loneliness and a constant reminder that there was no world that he fit into. He ripped them off as if they were burning his skin and then finally felt able to speak. "It's gone" he whispered, "it's really gone."

Yuki's sobbing slowed and he lifted his head, "I'm sorry, for crying like this, it's strange, I'm happy, so happy, but, it's also so sad, and lonely, the rat was always there, it's like part of me has just gone, I was never sure where the rat began and I ended and now it's just, gone" he shuddered and fell back into Tohru's arms. "Tohru!" "I can hold you!" He began sobbing once again.

Kyo came back to her side and wrapped himself around both her and partly Yuki too, he nestled his head back into her shoulder and talked into her neck, "this feels so good, I never dared imagine how good this would feel."

"The curse or the hug?" asked Tohru shyly.

"Both feel good, but this, being this close to you, this feels better than anything in the world should be allowed to feel" Kyo said, rubbing his nose in small circles on her neck and caressing her soft skin with his lips as he spoke.

Tohru felt her whole body go weak and an involuntary moan escaped her lips. Kyo half purred, half growled and gave her a gentle kiss on her neck followed up by several more up and down from her shoulder blade to her ear.

"I, Kyo, I can't, if you do that, oh god" Tohru arched her neck to the side to give him more access, Kyo felt a surge through him the more she moaned, he felt like he should stop but he also felt like he'd lost total control of his own body, almost as if he was floating slightly above himself. He carried on and lost himself in the sensation of her skin and her body next to his.

Yuki, as if sensing Kyo's abandon and passion and not wanting to be left behind, lifted Tohru's head and began kissing her deeply again, Tohru let herself be fully drawn into Yuki's kisses, the relief of the curse being broken, the emotion of discovering they both loved her, and more than that, they would both happily share her left her feeling completely weak and completely unable to fight against her desires.

I don't need to stop this yet, she thought and then all thought left her as Kyo lifted her up into his arms and walked into the house saying "we can't do this out here. He hesitated at the top of the stairs then turned to her room and said "do you mind if we just, lie with you for a while, if Yuki wants to as well that is, I feel like my legs might give way stood here but I don't want to leave your side just yet."

"Yes" breathed Tohru her voice trembling "Yes" she didn't trust herself to try and form any other words and let Kyo place her on her bed as he and Yuki molded themselves to each of her sides, nestled in as close as they could get. The three lay there for a short while, each of them shaking, with a mixture of pure raw emotions, sobs that were still dying away and sheer relief and happiness.

Yuki gave a big sigh, and let his muscles start to relax, he brushed her hair down over her shoulders and traced lines up and down her neck, Tohru felt unbelievably blissful from that simple touch. "I wonder what broke the curse in the end" he said out loud, "Kyo and I accepting ourselves, making peace, your love for us, or our desperation to be with you?"

"Maybe all of that" said Kyo as he curled cat like up against Tohru, "Maybe we had to be determined enough to show the spirits it was time to leave us."

"Maybe" agreed Yuki.

Tohru giggled suddenly and they both looked at her. "What?" Asked Kyo.

"You two, agreeing with each other!" She sighed and raised her hands to both their faces, "I think I'm dreaming, this can't be real, I'm not this lucky, I, I don't deserve to even imagine having one of you, let alone both of you" tears suddenly sprang to her eyes, "what if you change your minds, what if you really can't get on?"

"Tohru" Kyo quietly said, "I meant what I said, I love you more than anything else, I'll do whatever it takes to be with you, in whatever way I can be, and, I really don't hate Yuki" Kyo looked at Yuki and sat up holding out his hand. "I can say that honestly and openly now the cat has gone, it was never hate, it was, desire and jealousy and, well survival, I needed someone to blame for everything, it kept me alive, but more than that I also wanted to be Yuki, I wanted his strength and his calmness, I wanted to be that strong, adorable little silver haired boy that everyone worshipped" Kyo grinned cheekily at the word adorable, knowing it would wind Yuki up. He waited for the retort but was surprised to see Yuki crying instead.

"I, I just wanted love" Yuki sobbed, "a home where people cared for me, where someone wanted me, needed me, loved me, I didn't understand why you hated me, I wanted so badly to just be your friend, then I grew up, and that desire turned into, a kind of cold hatred, I thought you were just like the others, didn't need me, didn't want me, you said it yourself so many times, you wanted me gone, your life would be better without me in it. You hurt me, so much, and even then, even now, I still just wanted to be your friend, it's so childish but I couldn't get rid of those emotions, believe me I tried damn hard to" Yuki was sobbing again now, Tohru threw her arms around him cradling his head against her. Kyo moved over and embraced them both. "I'm sorry" he whispered "I'm the worst, I used you to protect myself, to save myself from oblivion. It wasn't fair, it wasn't right. I don't know how to undo the pain I've caused you."

Tohru felt drops on her face and looked up to see that Kyo was crying now too. "I'll protect you both" he said, "from now on" he remembered something Momiji had said and smiled, "from now on I'll cherish you both, and protect you, from now on we three, are a family."

Kyo bent down and kissed Yuki on the head, Tohru didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the almost fatherly gesture, then Yuki looked up, eyes red but full of something she couldn't place, something hungry and hopeful, "I love you" he said and Tohru was about to reply when she realised he was looking at Kyo! Kyo's eyes went wide and his mouth opened as if to say something but Yuki spoke again quickly. "Not just Tohru, I love you too, Kyo, more than, I should, I think."

Then he reached up with both hands and pulled Kyo's head down into a kiss, Kyo's hands snapped up to Yuki's and he pulled Yuki's hands away, Yuki moved his head back from Kyo and looked slightly crazed, Tohru suddenly had a silly image of someone who'd just jumped from a plane and wasn't sure if their parachute was going to open. Kyo was just staring at Yuki seemingly unable to speak, Yuki looked down blushing again and pushed Kyo's hands away, "I'm sorry, I just thought, I got carried away."

"No, I" Kyo managed to speak "I, you took me by surprise, I, I don't know if I feel that way, exactly, but, I meant what I said" he pulled Yuki's head back up and then astonishing Tohru and Yuki both he gently stroked Yuki's hair across his face, "I'll protect you, and cherish you, don't hide how you feel anymore, I'm here for you, I don't know if I can give you, everything you want, but I'm here, I won't turn you away."

Then to Tohru's growing amazement Kyo kissed Yuki. It wasn't the hungry way that Yuki had kissed him, it was more tender and caring, but it made Tohru ache all the more for its gentleness and she suddenly felt a little left out and a little confused, this wasn't what she'd had in mind, hell none of this was anything she'd had in mind. She wasn't sure how she felt about it, but she knew one thing, she loved these two deeply, fully, to her core, she'd protect them and love them just as Kyo would her and Yuki, she'd accept Yuki loving Kyo just as they'd accepted her love for both of them.
