INGATHERING

Sailor Sol surveyed the shrunken size of the Choas field with a sense of accomplishment. The combined attacks of different planetary pairs, and their combined attacks with their satellites was keeping the situation in check, but just barely.

Sailor and Kishi Uranus had returned home eleven days after Saturn. They had been sent to a dark, windless cave. By their calculations, they had been gone for sixty days, instead of the actual thirty eight. They had landed on one of the tree platforms, only to be faced with golden �Wind Falcons�. They had been joined at the skin for nine days. Their �Gale-Force Winds� attack was devastating. It knocked down brick walls that were not reinforced with metal bars.

The day after Uranus� return, a knock on the door heralded the arrival of Kishi Aeolus, and Kishi Odysseus, the Counselor for the planetary warriors.

Kishi Aeolus was a friend of Kojiro�s, Robert Taylor from California. He had resigned his professorship and flown to Osaka, and then drove a car north with his friend, David Clark.

David was a psychologist by profession, and his presence was a very welcomed addition to the Compound. Aster spent long hours talking to him, unburdening herself to the only person she could lean on. Everyone else expected her to be a rock to lean on. With David, she could express her doubts, fears, and frustrations.

Three days after Uranus� return, a late night splash in the Chiba House pool had brought them down to find Sailor and Kishi Neptune floating unconscious in the water. Their Sea Dogs, spaniel-type canines with a light blue tinge to their fur, pulled them to the edge of the pool.

When they roused, they told a tale of an endless desert. They thought that three months had passed, instead of six weeks. Their �Tsunami� attack was as good as the real thing for destroying structures and creatures.

Two days after the Neptunes arrival, Kishi Vulcan, Cupid, and Hephaestus arrived, led by Kishi Triton. They had all been living in Chiba, across the bay, and had taken Triton�s fishing boat to get to them.

It took the Neptunes nine days to separate, just like Uranus.

Three days after the Neptunes could separate, Luna and Artemis woke Aster in the middle of the night to tell her that Sailor and Kishi Moon were floating in the koi pond, under the light of the full moon.

After they woke up, just after dawn, Thomas and Usagi spent long minutes hugging everyone they recognized, before they told the assembled warriors about four months on a featureless black plain where they didn�t even have reflections to orient on. They were a bit surprised to find that it was only a bit over two months. Usagi had remembered Aster telling her about the tantric techniques, and they had raised enough power to come back. A home pregnancy test had turned out positive.

Sailor Moon and Kishi Moon had devastated their target area of the Chaos zone with �Silver Arrows Entrap�, in which a flock of arrows had cut a part of the dome and obliterated that section.

Just over two weeks after their return, Usagi and Thomas finally woke up with their arms around someone else. Thomas was snuggled between Hotaru and Akio. Usagi was tucked under Haruka�s chin, with Sumiko spooned up behind her.

Three weeks after Usagi and Thomas� physical separation, Aster and Vincent�s watching of the sunrise was interrupted by a small temblor, and the appearance of three figures in the garden, empty for the winter. The third figure disappeared almost immediately, leaving behind a woman in a purple fuku and a man in black and gray armor.

Aster�s shriek had roused the rest of the household, and Zhang and Joben had carried the unconscious Senshi and prince into the house.

Joben helped arrange the two of them on a futon couch, since they were clasping one another�s hands, just like everyone else that had returned up to this point.

While Usagi knelt next to Mamoru and tried to rouse him, Aster pulled Sailor Terra�s tiara off of her head, turning her back in to Lucinda. Vincent had knelt next to his wife and tried to get her to wake, as well.

When Aster and Vincent were fixing breakfast, a tapping on the kitchen windows had startled them. The tapping had been from two large hawks, who identified themselves at Terra Hawks, and demanded to know where Endymion and Sailor Terra were.

Lucinda and Mamoru had taken turns talking about five and a half months spent on a raft with Terrene, struggling against the madness that had already claimed her. They had used the same techniques as some of the others to return. That only three months had passed did not lessen their insistence that they had experienced five and a half. Lucinda was also pregnant.

Two days after Terra and Endymion returned, Kojiro�s grandfather had arrived on their doorstep with luggage. He had handed over his position as Chief Executive of Tanamura Manufacturing to his son, Ohara. He had called Aster�s uncle Hosyu and had pretended to know things he was unsure of until Hosyu had confirmed what he had guessed. Now, he was there to help. He had watched while they left to attack the Chaos dome, and had looked very relieved when they returned unharmed.

Ten days after their return, sunrise found Lucinda curled up between Vincent and Sakura, while Mamoru was wrapped around Aster, with Usagi on his other side, and Joben on Aster�s other side.

Six days after Lucinda and Mamoru could separate, a titanic lightning storm lit up the compound. When the lightning faded around midnight, there were two people unconscious in the zen garden, with two gray and white birds watching over them.

On waking, Makoto and Robert talked about six months in a dark cave, where the only illumination was provided by some kind of luminescent lichen on the ceiling. They were perversely relieved to learn that it was only three and a half months. Makoto joined the others in reading through baby books that Lucinda had accumulated during her pregnancy.

The day after their return, two people known to Usagi showed up on their doorstep. They were a painter named Peggy Jones, who Aster had been supporting between art shows, and a well-known taiko drummer named Tohno Maya. They revealed themselves to be satellite Senshi, Adrastea and Metis respectively. Aster had known about Astrastea, but had never seen Metis.

Nineteen days after their return, Makoto woke up curled with Lucinda and Vincent, and Robert was cuddled with Meiko and Akari.

Nine days after Jupiter�s separation, sunset brought an unusual flare of light to the barbecue pit. When the flare subsided, two red and orange birds were perched on the edge of the pit, looking down into it. Aster and Vincent went out to investigate, and then summoned Zhang and some of the other satellites to help them bring Sailor and Kishi Mars in.

When Rei and Eduard came to, they talked about eight and a half months on an island of solid ground in a swamp. They both demanded baths immediately, and scrubbed four times before they felt clean. They were astounded to learn that only four and a half months had passed.

The day after Mars arrival, a knock on the door had nearly given Aster a heart attack when she opened the door to see her brother, Michie, Kishi Phobos. He caught her when she swayed, and helped her in. He had been working at the racetrack as a mechanic, and had found the compound by following the energies of his primary.

Twenty-two days after their return, Rei was curled up with Robert, and Eduard was holding onto two of the girls, with a distance between them.

Twenty-one days after Mars could separate, a noontime swim after a journey to the Chaos zone was interrupted by the abrupt appearance of Sailor and Kishi Mercury, and the equally abrupt appearance of two foxes with blue-tinged white fur at the edge of the pool.

Ami and Kojiro talked about ten months in a rain forest, surrounded by warm wetness, insects, and amphibians. Their relief at only having been gone for six months was quickly tempered by Kojiro being told that his grandfather was at the house, helping them coordinate.

Twenty-nine days after their return, Kojiro woke up with his arms around Makoto, and Ami was snuggled between Sachio and Yori, two of their satellites.

Thirty days after Mercury separated, Aster and Vincent rose at dawn to see two people unconscious under the fruit trees. Sailor and Kishi Venus were finally home, with a pair of lovebirds sitting in a tree above them.

Minako and Martin talked about a year on a volcanic waste with nothing and no one else around. They were relieved to hear that it had been eight months instead. With their return, it made it conclusive that the only Senshi who had not returned from Chaos pregnant were Sol, Uranus, and Neptune.

The day after their return, Oji Hino�s apprentice, Yuchiro, had arrived on their doorstep, following his own instincts and Oji Hino�s instructions.

In the interim time, however, Aster had frequently forgotten to take her contraceptives. She was now pregnant, and she believed that Mamoru was the father.
