Blood
Sorry this is so short, gang. It just didn’t want to be any longer.

Takara stretched lazily and rolled over onto her side from her stomach. She burrowed closer to Tres, who simply gathered her against him and smiled against the curve of her neck.
“I could happily spend every evening for the rest of my life like this,” she said sleepily, stroking the length of his back.
Tres chuckled a little. “That’s a pleasant thought but neither of us would get much work done if we did that.”
“Work sucks,” she grumbled, running her hand up his back to his shoulder. She paused, feeling something wet and slightly sticky against her fingertips. Frowning, she pulled her hand up and looked at it then shot to a semi sitting position, her eyes going wide in shock. “T . . . Tres,” she stammered, not quite believing what she was seeing. She moved to look at his shoulder and suddenly began to visibly shake.
“Princess? What is it?”
“Sweet, merciful goddess, Tres,” she said, trying to gain some control over her voice. “You’re bleeding.”
“That . . . isn’t possible, Princess,” Tres said haltingly, trying to avoid staring at the reddish brown smear on her fingertips.
“What’s this then?” she said, wiping some of the rapidly drying substance across his hand, knowing it could be analyzed in a second or two.
Tres blinked as the information processed. “Plasma, hemoglobin, erythrocytes, leukocytes, thrombocytes . . .” he stopped mid recitation, looking confused and mildly terrified.
“Blood.”
