After math
Kyo rolled over snuggling closer to Haru who had moved slightly, content to simply lay there. There were no thoughts to his actions, no wondering if what had happened that morning was right or not. For the first time in his life Kyo felt accepted for who he was, and couldn’t remember who he was. Some one walked past the door to his room, paused a moment and kept walking. Puzzled by this he gently untangled himself from Haru’s limbs and pattered to the door. With a frown he noticed that the lock hadn’t closed properly, hopefully no one had decided to look in on him.
Opening the door and poking his head out, he saw that the hall was empty. Who ever it had been had either gone back down stair or was in one of the other rooms. Sliding the door closed he made sure the lock was firmly in place before walking back to the bed. The rain was still pounding on the windows explaining his semi present lethargy as he lay next to Haru for a moment. Looking at the ox and his two toned hair, Kyo sighed. How on earth had he gotten himself into this? And did he really care? Sighing in submission he wiggled his way into Haru’s arms again. Content when the ox roused from sleep enough to pull Kyo closer and curl back into the same comfortable position again. Laying there comfortably he gave into his weariness and fell back asleep glad that it was Saturday.

Hatsuharu had left Saturday afternoon. Privately he had held Kyo and kissed him passionately, promising to come back again soon. Explained to him that he had to take Kisa home or he wouldn’t leave, hugging him like he was afraid Kyo would disappear. In front of the others however it had been a quick glance, a hint of a smile, and a good bye directed at everyone. Kyo understood the reasoning behind it, they couldn’t let the family know what had happened. That for them to suddenly appear anything more than rivals would make people look too closely and see the small subtle change. But that didn’t stop it hurting, didn’t stop Kyo from feeling like the world had died around him. Since the rain was still coming and going every one took his sulky mood as a side effect from the rain and left him be. So he had sat on the porch almost all day Sunday staring into the forest not even looking up when Hana and Uo came over.
When Uo walked outside that afternoon he only gave her a sideways glance before continuing to stare blankly into the forest.
“Kyon I’m sorry… about last night. I just wanted you to know though that it still doesn’t change anything as far as I’m concerned.” She looked down at him when he didn’t reply.
“I just though you should know.” Turning she went back inside leaving him alone again.
It was around seven when Shigure finally returned home after vanishing the night before. His excuse was that he had to go and meet with his editor but Kyo had a sneaking suspicion that he was out doing other things, though what he couldn’t guess. Half way to the front of the house he noticed Kyo watching him and walked towards him instead.
“I take it you’ve been out here all day Kyo?” Shigure asked when he got closer.
“What does it matter to you?” he replied, not really in the mood for Shigure.
“I thought as much… I suppose they all think you’re out here moping because of the rain don’t they?” asked Shigure quietly looking at Kyo. Kyo’s head snapped around to stare at the dog his mind doing rapid back flips at the words.
“What?” he asked hoping his voice sounded steadier than he felt.
“Come now Kyo I know why you’re really out here, after last night and all that, it’s understandable.” Kyo blinked at the dog, wishing that he would disappear or at the very least stop talking. That way he could live securely in the idea that no one knew what had happened between him and Haru. Nor how right it had felt and how much he wanted it to happen again.
“What?” he said again, sounding rather stupid but not really caring. Shigure grinned to himself, how he loved playing these games on Kyo. Watching as the cat’s eyes went through the emotions of confusion, worry and anger then back again. He knew it wouldn’t be fair to dash the young boy’s hopes that his… activities had gone unnoticed.
“I mean its one thing for Uo and Hana to pretend it never happened but that doesn’t change how you feel… I’ll be inside if you need me.” Standing the dog vanished inside letting Kyo breath a huge sigh of relief.

The next morning as Kyo lazily got ready for school, his stupor finally beginning it to subside. He began to have serious concerns about Shigure’s mental health, not that it wasn’t normally a concern. Today he was just acting really odd. Every time Kyo saw him, the dog would burst into laughter, smile to himself when he finally got it under control and tell Kyo he would be late for school still grinning.
“Fucking dog.” Kyo sneered as he buttoned up his shirt before grabbing his bag and storming down stairs.
“We’re just about to leave Kyo, are you ready?” asked Tohru when he got to the bottom of the stairs. Shigure entered the room then and burst into laughter again worse than before, and ran still laughing back the way he had come almost bent in double.
“Why the hell do you care.” Kyo yelled kicking down the door and storming off before any one could even say anything.
“Well the weather has certainly improved his mood.” Came Shigure’s voice as he stood in the doorway his laughter once again under control.
“Doesn’t it always. Sometimes I would prefer it if it just kept raining. At least then we would have some peace and quiet.” Replied Yuki as he looked out through the door Kyo had exited through.
“Don’t say that, it would be terrible. Poor Kyo, I wonder what’s wrong.”
“I’m sure he will be fine. You know how he is after it has been raining. By the way Shigure what is it you’ve found so impossibly funny this morning?” Yuki turned looking at the dog, hoping for an answer. Shigure however actually did fall on the floor, this time holding his chest as he laughed louder than he had all morning. Waving his hand at them in a shooing manner he began to desperately give them instructions through his fit of laughter.
“You. Two. School. Go. Late. Funny.” He gasped still laughing his head off as they walked out the door confused.

Kyo walked past the front gates into the school still annoyed at Shigure but not storming. The weather must be getting better since he didn’t feel the least bit sleepy. Although it could have something to do with the fact that he desperately felt like punching something.
“Ahhh Kyon- Kyon so you’re on time today good to see.” Kyo spun glaring at the person who had spoken.
“Don’t call me Kyon-Kyon you damn Yankee.” He cursed before storming off to his first class.
“It seems today is a day for storming.” Spoke Hana as she watch a rather similar performance from the black and white haired Sohma. Who with equal effectiveness was also storming towards the school building.
“Wow you don’t normally see Haru in such a bad mood though… unless he’s proving to them that they’re not a god…” marked Uo as she watched the seventeen year old stomp up the steps. Momiji paused at the bottom turning to stare at the gate.
“Hi Hana, good morning Uo, how are you this morning?” came the bright and chirpy voice of Tohru.
“We’re fine, we were just admiring the Sohma’s amazing ability to storm.”
“TOHRU!!” cried a small voice as a blond haired moving object flung itself at the girl. Yuki grabbed the Momiji before he had a chance to leap into Tohru’s arms and gave him a firm look.
“Remember where you are Momiji. You can’t hug Tohru,” he said giving the rabbit a sincere look.
“Why, hello Momiji. How are you this morning?” beamed Tohru ignoring the fact of
a diverted disaster.
“I’m okay but something’s wrong with Haru. Ever since he was told yesterday that he had to watch me for a few days he’s been really angry.” Whimpered the rabbit.
“I’m sure he doesn’t mean to be angry at you, maybe he just has a lot on his mind,” offered Tohru as she took the rabbits hand and walked towards the building.
