Chapter: Trials of Love and Animosity

A/N: I am so retarded. I wanted to make this chapter long and good. It turned out being short and poo. Oh well, i guess you have good ones and bad ones. Any ways I hope you don\'t hate this chapter as much as I do but if you do, I won\'t mind. Enjoy...sorta.

Chapter 4: Trials of Love and Animosity

“How do you forget to tell me something like that, Shuichi?” Yuki slammed the door to the bedroom shut and locked it.

“I said I was sorry, Yuki!” Shuichi yelled back at his lover. The hurt in his voice was so obvious he thought he would scream.

“Couldn’t you find time in your busy schedule to tell me or were you not planning on talking to me about it all together?” Eiri’s eyes burned with anger, anger towards Shuichi for something like this. These past two years he had been bitching about honesty and never keeping secrets from one another. Calming himself, he forced his mouth to speak without yelling, “How many times, Shuichi?”

“What?” Shuichi lifted his gaze to meet Yuki’s.

“How many times have you slept with her?”

Shuichi swallowed the lump in his throat that threatened to suffocate him and spoke, “At least twice a day since she’s been here.”

Yuki’s heart dropped from his chest to his stomach where it dissolved in his bile. “She’s been here for over two months! What were you thinking?”

“I wasn’t thinking, Yuki. I’m sorry.” Shuichi’s eyes became clouded in tears as he dropped to his knees and buried his face in his hands.

“Well maybe if you pulled your head out of your ass and stopped shoving your cock up hers you might start! I stopped sleeping with other people. I let you live with me. I even let you get closer to me than anyone in the world. I did all that for you and this is how you think I deserve to be thanked?”

Renami rolled back and forth on the floor with her ears covered and her wings tucked on either side of her. Her keen ears could hear the smallest of sounds, and the louder the sound was the more it hurt her head.

The yelling that was coming form the bedroom was a loud blurting of aggravated voices that could be heard clearly through the house and, if unlucky, the entire apartment complex. Yet like a teasing volcano, the noise never erupted out or in to anything more than shouts of quarreling lovers. Even some how through the anger of the voice that was Yuki, it was laced with concern and sadness. His voice betrayed him revealing emotions that not even the author knew he had.

Knock. Knock.

Renami lifted her head and stared at the front door.

Knock. Knock.

She slowly sat up and looked from the front door to the bedroom door. “Guess they can’t hear it over their own voices,” she said. Her body slowly sank into the floor and disappeared completely within a matter of seconds. Traveling like a ghost, she glided through the walls and approached the bedroom vicinity. Casually she stuck her head out of the wall, leaving her body in the wooden layer, and looked at the two lovers who had simmered down a bit. Yuki was sitting at the edge of the bed with his head in his hands and Shuichi hugging him from behind. Renami couldn’t help but smile at how married they looked. “Um, excuse me…”

Both lovers looked up in surprise to see a head sticking out of their apartment talking to them. They gave each other a quick glance before standing up and walking to the head-thingy. “What is it?” Yuki’s eyes were soft and his voice was kind. Obviously he had hurt Shuichi with what he said.

“Didn’t mean to interrupt anything but you have someone who has been knocking at your front door for the last five minutes,” she said stepping from the wall and stretching her arms.

“Thanks. I’ll get it.” Yuki walked off into the living room and regained his composure before opening the door. “What the hell do you want?”

“We came to see Shuichi!” Ryuichi shoved Kumagoro in to Yuki’s face and smiled.

“He didn’t come to work today so we knew he’d be here with you,” Hiro said, pushing his way through the novelist and the idiot singer. He took a seat on the couch and waited for his friend to enter the room.

After prying Ryuichi and his bunny from his arm, Yuki walked back to the bedroom and sighed in annoyance. “Shuichi, it’s for you,” the author said, clearly aggravated.

Shuichi left the room leaving Renami and Yuki alone in the silence of the four walls.

“So what now, Yuki?” Renami asked in a quiet voice not wanting to be found out by their visitors.

“Now?” he glanced at her then walked to the bathroom. “I have a doctor’s appointment to attend. You can do whatever you want. Make yourself useful and haunt them or something.” Yuki smirked at the thought of looking at the two idiot’s friends when they saw a head sticking out of the floor. Pushing his wonderful imagination aside, he proceeded to enter the bathroom and lock the door behind him so he could shower and get dressed.

The demon goddess stared at the closed door for a moment in puzzlement. Yuki didn’t have an appointment today—that was yesterday. As Shuichi had instructed her before, she took the liberty of checking where he went and when. That included his medical necessities. She knew that he hadn’t spoken to the doctor about another appointment and they never gave him another. So where was he going?

“Shuichi? Did you and Yuki-san have another fight today?” Hiro asked as he took a sip from his tea. After gulping down the rest of it he set the cup down and put his hand on Shuichi’s shoulder.

“Yeah, but this time it was worse. I think that Yuki really hates me. He might even leave me this time!” Shuichi broke a piece off his cookie and swallowed it whole. Allowing a single tear to roll down his face, he crumbled the rest of the cookie in his fisted hand. “It’s all her fault. If it wasn’t for her we would have never had that argument!” Shuichi threw the pieces of food at the wall and watched as they broke even more.

“Shuichi, why are you yelling?” Ryuichi looked as though he was about to start crying. He hugged the bunny to his chest and stuffed a cookie in his mouth. “We don’t like you when you act like this,” he said holding out Kumagoro for the pink haired singer to see.

Eiri walked out from the hall and stepped to the front door where he put his shoes on. Shuichi stood from the sofa and glanced at the blond in confusion. “Where are you going, Yuki?” he asked in a soft voice as if someone had flipped a switch that made him go from mean to gentle.

“Out,” grunted the novelist in return.

“When will you be home?” Shuichi asked knowing that he was going to get scolded.

“Whenever I feel like it. I’m a big boy so stop acting like my wife, brat.” As Shuichi expected he got a scold that was colder than any he had ever been given. “Don’t be here when I come home.”

“What?” Shuichi gasped.

“You heard me. I want you gone. This little game is over for me so if you want to continue playing you can take Renami with you because I don’t want either of you in my life any more.”

The boy watched as Yuki walked out the door and left him standing there. After a moment of silence Shuichi finally yelled at the door that was now closed. “Fine! I will leave. Who in their right mind would want to stay with a cold hearted bastard like you?”
