Chapter 20 A Sick Vampire

The next morning Negi has some work to do at school before the classes start and he is already gone when Asuna comes back from her newspaper round. “Without her magic master’s body is no different form the original body of a young girl. I will go and meet a contact at the university hospital to obtain some effective medicine. Can you please look after her until I return?”

“Ok, but please come back as soon as you can. I still have classes to teach,” says Negi and Chachamaru is leaving.
“What is that robot thinking?” says Negi to himself. “I’m supposed to be her enemy and if I were evil like her I could just have killed her right now.” He looks down at the sleeping girl. “But I don’t think she is really evil. Evangeline is moving in the bed and mumbles something but Negi cannot hear what she is saying. The vampire attacks but the Thousand Master has prepared a pit trap and she falls into it. He fills it with garlic and onions and her magic is broken.

“Now look at that! The infamous vampire is just a little girl.” Her illusion spell is gone and he sees her as she really is.

“Stop this you jerk,” she screams. “If you’re a real mage, let’s duel with real magic.”

“Nah, I’d rather not. The truth is I only know about 5 or 6 spells ‘cause I suck at studying. Actually I dropped out of magic school.”

But about the last thing she said about him?” He walks back to the academy where he still has some classes to teach in the afternoon.
