Chapter Five
********
Aya watched as the door moved inward, only to stop when the security lock prevented it from being completely opened. He heard the word ‘sorry’ as the door was quickly closed. Aya looked through the peep hole to see what appeared to be a hotel employee.
“Who are you and what do you want?” Aya asked through the door. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Yohji hovering just out of sight. Aya mouthed for the man to return to bed but Yohji stubbornly stood his ground.
A hesitant voice answered from the other side of the door. “It’s valet service, sir. We had a rush request to launder some items.”
Aya cursed under his breath as he tucked the gun in the belt of his robe behind his back. He opened the door to peer through the crack, making sure that the young man was carrying Yohji’s clothes. Verifying the fact that the valet had Yohji’s laundry, Aya unlocked the door and accepted the clothes.
“Is it your policy to come into rooms uninvited?” Aya asked in a surly tone while he signed for the items.
“I’m terribly sorry, sir. When no one answered, I assumed you were out and I was going to leave the items in your room,” the man answered, his face looking sincere.
“You hardly gave me enough time to answer the door before barging in.” Aya was peeved at being interrupted so he wasn’t handling the situation very well.
“Again, sir, my most sincere apologies,” the valet said with a low bow.
Aya nodded and handed the paper back to the valet and accepted the package of clothing, making sure to place the ‘do not disturb’ sign on the handled before closing the door tightly and locking it again. He put the clothes on the closet shelf and then returned to the bedside, setting the gun back on the nightstand but feeling a bit awkward now that the moment had been interrupted. He didn’t dare look at Yohji and so was surprised when he felt strong arms wrap around him, one hand loosening the sash on the robe and then slipping inside to stroke his stomach and chest.
“We aren’t going to let a little something like being interrupted stop us now, are we?” Yohji asked in a husky voice while nibbling on Aya’s ear as he pushed the garment from Aya’s shoulders. Then Yohji’s hands seemed to be everywhere at once, tweaking a nipple, stroking his cock, cupping his balls, caressing his stomach and upper thighs, all the while Yohji’s cock pressed and rubbed against the crease between his buttocks.
Aya couldn’t prevent his hips from moving backward and forward so he could feel that hardness slide against him while enjoying the caresses from Yohji’s hands and mouth, which was nipping and sucking Aya’s neck and shoulders. He made a little, incoherent sound as he shook his head.
Yohji turned Aya around and captured his lips in a soul stealing kiss that left his senses reeling. Aya wrapped his arms around Yohji’s waist, pulling him closer until they were pressed tightly together, both of their erections rubbing against the other. Reaching between them, Aya grabbed Yohji’s lube-slicked dick and stroked it several times before the kiss ended.
Aya released Yohji, settling on the bed once more, parting his legs and bending them at the knee. His gaze locked on to Yohji’s as he stroked his fully erect cock while licking his lips.
“Waiting for something?” Aya said a little breathlessly.
With a somewhat dazed look on his face, Yohji shook his head as he climbed back onto the bed, kneeling between Aya’s parted thighs as he reached for the lube again. “Not anymore,” Yohji said a bit cryptically while he added a bit more lube to his cock. His beautiful green eyes locked on to Aya’s and Aya felt his heart clench. The gaze was so open and honest, no sign of shadows or pain; it appeared to have something in them that Aya felt was reflected in his own eyes, but maybe it was wishful thinking on his part.
When he felt Yohji’s cock nudge up against his hole, entering just a bit then pausing, Aya turned his attention back to matters at hand. Impatient to feel Yohji buried in him again after all the years that had passed, Aya rocked his hips forward to take more until he felt a hand still his hips.
“We’ve got all night, Ayan. I don’t want you to get too sore.” Yohji leaned down and began kissing Aya again. Reaching up to thread his hands in silky locks, Aya put all the love he felt into the kiss. So lost in the passionate embrace, he was surprised when Yohji rested his full weight on him, only then realizing that Yohji was fully encased in his body.
Slowly, oh so slowly, Yohji began to move in and out while they continued to kiss, their hands caressing any bit of skin they could reach. It was torturously slow but so satisfying that Aya didn’t want it to ever end. If he couldn’t say the words, he wanted Yohji’s body to at least know that Aya loved him.
The thrusts and shifts of their bodies were languid, the softly spoken encouragements barely heard above the beating of his heart and blood rushing in his ears. When Yohji shifted Aya’s hips and thrust hard, Aya cried out loudly from the intense pleasure pooling in his groin. As if that were a signal, the moment changed. Their movements became more frantic, the caresses less gentle as their loud cries filled the room along with the slap of skin upon skin.
“More, Yohji…” Aya managed to pant out. He clung to Yohji, not able to do much else as he realized he was reaching a critical point. Aya reached down and grasped his own cock to begin stroking it. Yohji’s hands were busy tilting his hips upward so each strike hit his prostate, making him yell with every plunge forward.
Yohji rose up on his knees and braced his hands in the V beneath Aya’s knees, pushing his ass up further so he could pound mercilessly into Aya’s body. Only Yohji could ever bring him to this point of mindless need and ecstasy, make him babble incoherently and almost sob from the rapture that filled him. At a particularly forceful thrust, Aya’s body stiffened and he shouted out Yohji’s name while streams of white coated his chest and stomach.
Aya didn’t know how much time passed until he came back to his surroundings, but Yohji was thrusting frantically above him, then finally the man paused and shouted Aya’s name as he ground his hips into Aya’s. With arms that trembled just the slightest, Aya reached up and rubbed his hands soothingly up and down Yohji’s chest and shoulders, enjoying the beauty of his lover’s expression. When Yohji collapsed onto him, he cradled his lover in his arms, holding him as if he’d never let go.
They laid like that, Aya stroking his hand through Yohji’s hair again and again until Aya sensed that his lover was falling asleep. Not wanting Yohji to do that without taking his pain medication again, Aya nudged him and said, “Yohji, you need to take your pills. Then we can go to sleep.”
“Hmm, too comfortable,” Yohji mumbled.
How anyone could be comfortable lying on another body while being sticky and sweaty, Aya didn’t know, but he had to agree with Yohji that he was feeling much the same way. Even with the heavier man pressing him into the mattress. Kissing the top of Yohji’s head, he said, “Let’s get washed up and then we can come back to bed and get some rest.”
“Don’t wanna move,” Yohji protested, but came along when Aya tugged him up and out of bed. They washed off quickly and returned to bed, where Aya straightened and pulled back the covers while Yohji took another pill. After they climbed in, Aya turned out the lights before gathering a half sleeping Yohji in his arms. They shifted minutely as they got comfortable and Aya carded his hand through Yohji’s hair again and again while the blond murmured sleepily and snuggled more firmly against Aya’s chest.
Aya couldn’t believe that Yohji was here in his arms when a day ago he despaired of ever speaking to Yohji again, much less anything else. But he’d still not accomplished the main reason for coming to find Yohji; to tell the man that he loved him. Being with Yohji again only confirmed Aya’s feelings for him and Aya’s arms tightened around Yohji as he vowed to never lose his love again.
********
Yohji groaned as he reluctantly woke, rubbing his face into the pillow. In the back of his mind he knew there was some reason not to fall asleep again. Suddenly he sat up quickly and looked around the room when he remembered. Aya. Yohji relaxed again when he saw Aya typing away on a laptop set up on the desk, something tight in his chest easing at the sight of him. For a moment, Yohji thought he’d dreamt it all but no, Aya was there, with him.
Looking over at the clock, Yohji was surprised to see that he’d slept the morning away. The dull ache in his head reminded him that the drugs he’d taken before bed had probably helped keep him asleep for so long.
He must have made a sound because Aya looked up from the computer to say, “How are you feeling?”
“Head’s not too bad but I’m hungry,” Yohji said and noticed that Aya’s manner was less open than last night, leaving him to conclude that his lover was in mission mode at the moment.
“I’ll order room service while you take a shower,” Aya offered.
Yohji frowned at the suggestion. “Why don’t we go to a restaurant?”
Aya shook his head as he replied, “Not today. You should see your face. All your bruises have turned black and green. You’ll attract too much attention like that. Better to stay here and heal a few days and then we can go out to a restaurant.”
Yohji got out of bed and walked to the mirror in the bedroom. Most of his injuries had been around his head and upper body, which wasn’t bruised too much. His main injury had been the concussion. At least the headache was down to a dull roar.
“I’m going to need some more clothes” Yohji said as he went to get his recently cleaned ones. “Can we go to my apartment to get some?”
Aya shook his head again. “No. I can go buy you some things to tide you over. Whoever is trying to kill you could be staking out your place to see if you return. I want to wait until you’re fully healed prior to taking that on. Go have a shower- and we’ll make some plans over lunch. I have a few ideas on how to proceed.”
“Okay,” Yohji finally agreed turning and making his way to the bathroom to get cleaned up.
Lunch was just being rolled in on a cart when he returned; feeling much better than he had for the past few days - well, except for last night. He went to fetch one of his pills and then sat down opposite Aya.
Yohji took a few bites of lunch and paused to swallow a pill before broaching the subject of someone trying to kill him. “Aya, it seems strange that after all this time that someone is trying to kill me now.”
“I was thinking much the same thing,” Aya replied as he set his chopsticks aside and took a drink of tea. “I was wondering what had changed in your life that was different from the past couple of years.”
Yohji finished chewing as he thought over Aya’s question. “Well, I moved out and was trying to figure out who I was before I lost my memories. I had been che… Wait. I accessed a safe deposit box I’d opened up when we worked at the Koneko.”
Wondering what made Aya start like that at the mention of the flower shop, Yohji suddenly remembered Aya-chan. “Have you seen your sister?”
Aya shook his head as he pushed his plate aside as if he’d suddenly lost his appetite. “She’s better off without me.”
Yohji sighed in frustration. “You know, you really should let her make that decision.”
This time Aya replied with anger in his voice. “It’s none of your business, Yohji. If someone is coming after you, what if that someone decided to get back at me through her?”
A bit hurt at Aya’s words, he nonetheless felt Aya might be right. Look at what happened to his ex-wife because of him. It was entirely Yohji’s fault that Asuka was dead, just because she was running late for work.
He started when fingers threaded through his hair, tilting his face up to look at Aya. “I’m sorry, Yohji. I just don’t think it’s a good idea for me to have any contact with her.”
Nodding his head, Yohji attempted to turn away, feeling a bit depressed over Asuka’s death, but Aya wouldn’t let him. He tugged Yohji out of his chair and pulled him into a hug. “It’s not your fault, Yohji. Whoever is trying to kill you, that is the person to blame for her death. Not you.”
Yohji pulled back, surprised at Aya reading him so easily. “How did you know what I was thinking?”
Aya’s smile was sad as he cupped Yohji’s cheek. “I always could tell.” He leaned forward to capture Yohji’s lip in a passionate kiss. Yohji opened his mouth wide as he wrapped his arms around Aya’s waist.
Wondering if he could maneuver Aya back to the bed again, a loud knock on the door interrupted them. Yohji could hear Aya cursing under his breath as he went to answer. It was housekeeping and Aya explained to the woman that since they might not be going out, she could tidy the room as they ate their lunch.
Slightly put out with all the interruptions they’d been having, Yohji sat back down, as did Aya, to continue their lunch. “What happened to the ‘do no disturb sign’?
“I took it off when I ordered lunch,” Aya replied. Yohji only grunted in response.
Since they had an audience, they didn’t resume their conversation so the rest of the meal passed in silence.
The maid finished with the room about the same time that they finished their meal. While Aya set the cart outside their room, Yohji followed behind and purposely put the sign back on the outside of the door. He then returned to the small sofa and sat down, for Aya to join him. “Do you think that someone had been keeping track of my accounts? I now remember that I have two other accounts. Maybe if I access one of those a couple of times, we might be able to determine if that is how they found me.”
“That sounds like a reasonable plan. Once you’ve healed up completely, we can test out your theory. In the meantime, we’ll go sparring. Have you kept up on your self-defense at all?”
Yohji looked a bit sheepish as he replied, “No. I haven’t sparred with anyone since the last mission.”
Aya nodded as he got up from the couch. “I’d assumed as much. I’ll arrange for some space in a private gym where we can refresh your memory.”
Yohji followed Aya as he walked over to his computer and typed off an email. Yohji didn’t recognize the name but he did recognize the organization it was sent to. “Who do you still know at Kritiker?”
“Omi, or should I say Mamoru, secretly heads Kritiker. This is to Nagi, who will take care of finding us a secure location where we can work out over the next couple of days.”
“So, what do we want to do for the rest of the day, then?” Yohji waggled his eyebrows at Aya, who promptly rolled his eyes at Yohji.
“As much as I’d love to spend the day in bed with you, I won’t be able to walk, much less give you a sparring lesson if we do that. Plus, we need to get you some new clothes. You could order what you want online and I can pick them up on our way back from the gym. I think one of the larger department stores offer that service. I’ll have Nagi call my cell with the location of the gym. We’ll get at least one workout in today.” Aya turned back to the computer to type a second email.
“Not the kind of workout I had in mind,” Yohji grumbled under his breath as he waited for Aya to finish before they left to run their errands.
********
Another day passed without any sign of Kudoh. The woman tried to remain optimistic, but wondered if somehow her golden opportunity was slipping through her fingers. She had checked with her hired assassin to see if there had been anything new turned up on that front, but it was another disappointment.
Wondering if she would have to take care of this herself, she prepared contingency plans just in case she was the one to run into Kudoh. If she didn’t need access to the company computer in order to check on possible leads, she would have taken some vacation and begun her own efforts to find the man.
*********
Yohji moaned in appreciation as he sank into the hot water. The nice thing about Aya’s hotel room was that it had a deep whirlpool tub, which Yohji was currently taking advantage of. The damned redhead had given Yohji more bruises than the explosion. And that was with him going easy on Yohji because of his head injury.
The only thing that made all the aches worthwhile was that at the end of the session, Yohji had managed to toss Aya twice, his old skills finally coming into play. He and Aya had always been pretty evenly matched when Yohji was at his peak. Another few days of practice and he would probably be close to that - if he could still move, that is. He had a feeling his muscles would tighten up painfully overnight.
Resting his head on the back of the tub, he closed his eyes and enjoyed the hot water. He must have been dozing because he never heard Aya enter, but instead felt a hand nudge his shoulder as Aya said, “Here, you might want this.”
Yohji opened his eyes to see Aya offering him a cup of sake. Sitting up a little straighter, he accepted it and sipped it down, raising his cup to be filled again. Aya chuckled as he poured Yohji some more then drank his own sake. “Good thing you’re off the prescription meds or you wouldn’t be drinking this.”
Grinning, Yohji said, “I would have even with the prescriptions if a certain anal retentive guy had let me.”
“Hn.” Aya sniffed as he poured himself some more rice wine.
“Hey, Aya, there’s room in here for two.” Yohji set his glass aside and trailed a finger down Aya’s arm.
Aya paused as if to consider something then set his cup aside and began to strip. He turned on the shower and quickly washed and rinsed while Yohji watched in rapt attention. He noticed a few new scars on Aya that hadn’t been there when they last had been lovers. An especially nasty one on Aya’s abdomen caught his attention. He wondered how close he’d come to never seeing Aya again because of it.
Yohji poured himself another glass of sake and filled Aya’s cup as well, but waited until Aya joined him in the tub to drink. Once Aya had settled into the water facing him, Yohji handed him his glass and said, “That’s a pretty bad scar on your stomach, Aya. What happened?”
Aya accepted his drink and sipped it slowly before answering. “I was freelancing in the U.S. and someone hired a kid to knife me. This is what I was talking about yesterday when I said it almost caught up with me. Maybe I had too much unfinished business in this life to leave it so soon.”
Hoping that he was part of that unfinished business, Yohji set his cup aside and moved forward so he could kiss Aya, straddling the man’s lap as he did so. About to sweep his tongue inside Aya’s mouth, Yohji was surprised when he felt Aya’s entering his. Quickly getting over the fact that Aya was one step ahead, Yohji opened his mouth wider to let Aya have better access. Yohji felt Aya’s arms around his shoulders while Yohji wrapped his around Aya’s waist pulling him close.
When the kiss finally ended, Yohji nibbled his way down to Aya’s neck and was once more surprised when Aya wrapped a hand around both of their cocks. He’d forgotten that Aya had been just as aggressive in their lovemaking in the past as Yohji. Happy to let Aya take the lead, he gave himself over to Aya’s hands, which seemed to be everywhere at once.
About to suggest they take this to the bedroom, a loud pounding on their door had them breaking apart suddenly while getting out of the tub quickly. Since Aya was moving much more easily than Yohji, the man was in a robe and out of the bathroom in a flash while Yohji wrapped a towel around his waist and follow right behind.
‘What the fuck was with all the interruptions?' he thought with a frustrated growl. He had almost reached Aya when the man turned from the peephole to the nightstand for the gun. Wonder what the fuck was going on, he knew better than to ask right then as Aya returned to the door which he slowly opened.
Yohji didn’t catch the softly spoken words but Aya was soon closing the door after accepting a package. Curious at what Aya had there, Yohji asked, “What the hell is that? And what’s with getting interrupted all the time?”
Aya didn’t say anything, but went to sit on the sofa to open the package. When he pulled out two revolvers, Yohji asked, “What are those for?”
“Protection, I wanted us to have two unregistered guns. We don’t know what we’ll be up against and our old weapons aren’t always practical.” Aya looked up at Yohji as he set the guns aside.
Yohji only nodded when he thought back to the other night. If he hadn’t been in close contact with his would be assassin, his wire would have been very little use against the man’s gun.
Feeling fingers in his hair, he looked up at Aya. “Let’s go to bed and hope no one else feels like bothering us again tonight.”
Yohji grabbed the hand to kiss tapered fingers before saying, “They better not or those guns are going to be used sooner rather than later.” And he wasn’t kidding when he said that as he led Aya to their bed.
