Chapter 4
It had finally hit her, the reason she had a pulse again, the reason she could feel pain, the reason she was so weak. She had become human. Integra stared at her as Alucard tried to process all of what she just realized. Perhaps Seras really had become more powerful than she, most definitely now since she was a human.
Alucard turned her head as Integra watched, and saw a great deal of pain and sorrow in her eyes. The look that Alucard was giving her was clear though. She gathered up her things, got dressed, and made her way for the door before unlocking it. She paused for a moment, as if to think of what she was about to say, then turned to face Alucard, who seemed to be trying her best not to burst out in tears. "Good night, my little Alidia.", as she left she nodded to herself, pleased with the new name she had given to Aluca-- Alidia. She shook her head and chuckled quietly as the door shut, 'Going to have to get used to that.' she thought as she walked down the hallway, and towards the stairs.
Alidia sat trembling in her bed, the tears already flowing as she wondered what would happen to her now. She curled her knees into her chest, ignoring the fact that she was still naked and continued to weep. It wasn't anything like she'd ever expected. How could Seras have become so powerful in such a short amount of time, let alone discover a power even Alidia herself didn't know of. For a moment her tears stopped as her new name rang through her head 'Alidia..' she thought, smiling upon the idea. But as quickly as the tears had stopped, they started again. She noticed that by this point she was shivering violently, and pulled the silk covers back over her, still curled up in a little ball. After what felt like hours she was finally able to close her aching eyes and get some much needed rest.
-----Scene Skip: Integra's Office-----
Integra puffed her cigar as Walter closed the lighter and placed it back in his pocket. She sighed quietly, "Walter, I'm sure you already know my feelings towards Aluc-- Alidia."
Walter nodded slowly as he listened to her new name, "Yes, Sir Integra. I do. But never the less, I am to serve you, no matter what the circumstances may be. Though I recommend not mentioning this to the council."
She nodded, he was right after all. If the council learned of her recent actions, they would surely cease in assisting the Hellsing family. She took another drag from her cigar and continued, "What I'm sure you don't know however, is that Alidia is now human. What ever Seras Victoria did to her, it was certainly powerful."
Walter flinched slightly, "I'm sorry Sir, did I just hear you say that Alidia is, HUMAN?" he dragged the word human out, putting great emphasis on it as he watched Integra nod slowly. He shook his head, still trying to process it all. For his entire life Alidia had been one of the most powerful vampires around, and now, she was a mere human, like the rest of us.
Integra slowly put out her cigar and weaved her fingers together after adjusting her glasses, "What ever it was that Seras did to Alidia, Walter, we need to find out, and we need to find out now. I want you to research everything we have on the abilities of No Life Kings, and as soon as you find anything that may be of use, return to me immediately. Go now!" she yelled as she hammered her fist into the desk and watched Walter walk out her doors. She slumped back into her chair and closed her eyes, when suddenly she heard a blood curdling scream, much like earlier, and it was definitely Alidia, but this time it was filled with fear. She got up immediately and grabbed her gun, then ran out of her office. Seeing Walter on the way she yelled, "Get back to the research Walter, I'll deal with this!"
Walter gave a nod and turned around, running back to the archives. He looked over his shoulder and watched Integra disappear down the hallway, he grinned 'The things love does to us.' he thought as he reached the archives.
------Scene Skip: Alidia's Room-----
Alidia lay in her bed shaking, staring blankly at the new arrival.
"What's wrong Alucard? Feeling a bit vulnerable?" teased Seras as she eyed her handy work.
Alidia mustered all the strength she had and spoke, "That is not my name, Seras Victoria!"
Seras chuckled lightly as she polished her finger nails, "What is it then, hm?"
Alidia's blood had began to boil as she spoke out once more, "My Master has changed it to Alidia.", she clenched her jaw tightly, knowing that Seras would use that name to her advantage.
Seras smiled softly as she looked at her spawn, "Alidia hm.. At least it's a nice name, it'll be perfect when I make you my slave." she said nonchalantly as she continued to focus on her nails.
Alidia's eyes spread wide, she shook her head in hopes that she had heard Seras wrong, but Seras shook her head as well, as if knowing what Alidia was thinking. Alidia backed up into the wall, the cold stone sending chills down her spine. She knew that Seras would do one of two things, either she would turn her into a ghoul, or turn her into a vampire. She hoped for the latter, she at least knew how to become a No Life King again.
Seras continued to smile, but as she heard footsteps ringing in the hallway outside the smile quickly disappeared and she flashed to the door, locking it before shooting her gaze at the cowering Alidia. There came a bang on the door and Seras shot forward at Alidia, her fangs fully bared as she bit into her neck. It was Alidia's turn to be the subordinate, and no one would get in the way of that. She did as much as she could in the time given, then pulled the now unconscience Alidia into her arms, and vanished as the door had been broken down.
Integra came flying into the room with her gun at the ready, her finger already lightly squeezing the trigger, but she found the room to be empty. She scanned the area quickly and stopped as she saw the blood on the floor. She immediately began to shake as her eyes widened and her mind went directly to her worst fear. Alidia had been killed. She dropped her gun and fell to her knees, still shaking as she screamed as loud as she could. She hung her head and began to cry, the tear drops hitting the floor. She quickly got a hold of herself though, and clenched her fists tightly. She stood after grabbing her gun and stormed out of the room, and up the hallway.
------Scene Skip: Archive Room------
Walter had been looking through the various records held in this room, having already pulled a pile of files out and sorted them on the desk, he worked quickly for a man of his age. He chuckled lightly as the doors flew open and his head shot around to see Integra standing in the doorway, panting heavily with a crazed look in her eyes. He watched as she walked towards him, he had never seen her like this before, and it was both amazing, and terrifying. He eyed her intently and cautiously as she sat at the desk and began to read the various records. He got back to looking for every last sheet of paper they had on a No Life King's abilities, placing each file or paper he found on the desk while Integra read through everything.
Integra's mind was racing, and she read through every single file, making sure not to miss anything. After what seemed like days she was finally finished. She rested her elbows on the desk and held her head in her hands, her fingers sliding through her long silky blonde hair. She felt Walter's hand on her back as she stood and allowed herself to be led back to her office. Upon arrival the doors slowly creaked open and they stepped inside, making sure to shut the doors and lock them before discussing anything.
"If I may Sir, what happened in the basement?" Walter questioned as softly as he could while he lit Integra's cigar.
"Walter, Alidia has either been killed, or kidnapped." her tone was dry and enraged as she dragged on her cigar, almost causing it to catch fire, but she slowed herself down. She knew better than to burn to death while she was trying to figure out what had happened.
Walter blinked and cleared his throat, "Well then Sir Integra, what have you found out about a No Life King's abilities?" he asked reassuringly, hoping to spark that commanding fire he'd seen in Integra so many times before.
Integra just sighed as she leaned back in her chair, "There was absolutely nothing on what Seras did to Alidia."
