Chapter #6 Choices and Kisses
The two men stared at each other not sure how to react to the ever growing silence between them. Luffy’s mind ran in circle not sure which way was up or down. {Why isn’t he saying anything? Does he think that I took to long? Will he ask why? What would I tell him? What if Zoro tells him? Why would it matter? Is Zoro still in the storage room? Is he mad that I pushed him away? Should I have pushed him away? Why am I worrying about that now? WHY ISN’T SANJI SAYING ANYTHING!?}
{Why isn’t Luffy talking? Why did he actually get some? Couldn’t he tell that I was just making something up to get him out of the kitchen? Can I keep my promise to myself? How would he react? Will he reject me? What would he say? Why did it take him so long? Should I ask? WHY DOESN‘T HE SAY SOMETHING?} Sanji was panicked as bad as Luffy. Their brains were filled with unanswered questions and there seemed to be no end to it all. Then both men thought the exact same thing:
{CAN HE TELL I FREAKING OUT?!?!}
Sanji couldn’t take it any longer and had to break the silence radiating though the room. “oh, thanks.” Sanji took the basil from the hand of the other. Their fingers brushed each others. Sanji’s heart jumped. Luffy shivered slightly. Sanji noticed the shiver and look at his captain’s eyes. The big eyes that normally remained unfazed, untouched, unchanged were now full of worry. The chef wanted to kill who ever put his captain in this state.
“Is something wrong?” Sanji questioned the 17 year old boy.
{Well I was just thinking about you while making out with Zoro but other than that..} “No, nothing’s wrong.” Sanji made a mental note that Luffy wasn’t saying what was on his mind; however, he didn’t want to make his captain uneasy by asking him to say something he didn’t want to say.
Luffy started toward the door but was stopped by a hand on his shoulder. He turned to face once more. The two stared at each other. {now or never} Sanji reassured himself that this was what he wanted. “Luffy, I…well I just wanted to say that…” The chef’s face flushed a deep shade of scarlet. He searched his brain for everything he had planned to say when the moment was right. Nothing came back to him. His fingers tingled as they held the bare arm of his captain. {Just say it. Short and simple.} Sanji inhaled sharply. “Luffy, I..I love you .” There he had said it. It was done and could never be undone. Luffy knew and nothing could change that now. Sanji couldn’t hide anymore. He secret was known.
Luffy stilled. What was going on? Did everyone fall in love with him last night?! Already 2 of his crewmen had admitted out of nowhere that they wanted him. He did prefer Sanji’s method of telling him rather than stealing his lips. Who was next?! USOPP!!? Luffy mentaly shuddered. He did not want Usopp. Usopp was a good friend but the nose is a major turn off for Luffy. Luffy looked back at the cook who awaited his response. He didn’t want to keep him waiting but what could he say.
{ sorry I can’t love you because I was just making out with Zoro. Yeah, that go over well.} He thought of Zoro again. More exactly he thought about Zoro’s tongue inside his mouth. His taste still lingered inside the young captain’s mouth. How could he chose between 2 of his most trusted friends? He didn’t want to reject either but he can’t have both (or can he ;] ).
Sanji kept his gaze on his captain and noticed him tremble a little. “Luffy?”
The straw -hatted boy’s heart jumped into his throat as his name rolled off his chef’s tongue. He wanted Sanji, but he didn’t want to hurt Zoro. He wanted Zoro, but he didn’t want to hurt Sanji. Everything was a jumble inside his head. When did life become so damn confusing? “I can’t choose!” he blurted out.
{ “can’t choose”? WHATTHEHELLDIDTHATMEAN!?!?} Sanji looked back at Luffy. “can’t choose between what?”
Luffy’s eyes widened once more. How could he tell Sanji about the events that took place in the storeroom? Would he get mad? Would they fight over him? They would fight anyway and there was no backing out now. “ In the storeroom, Zoro was helping me look for the basil and Zoro.. he..”
Sanji blood started to boil at the pause after Zoro’s name. No way was Luffy hesitate because of that shitty samurai!
Luffy continued. “He kissed me and then I told him that you needed the spice and came here.” Luffy’s entire body began to shake. Did Sanji understand? Could he?
Sanji was ready to kill {that bastard got a kiss? DAMN YOU, ZORO, DAMN YOU TO HELL!!!!!} Sanji concocted a thousand ways to rip the swordsman apart. Then, looked back at his shaking captain. Luffy looked so lovely when he looked afraid. Sanji’s heart began to race. He had admitted his love and he wanted something to show for it. “Luffy, how can you choose if you don’t know what you’re choosing from?” he looked longingly at his captain.
“What are you saying?” If Luffy wasn’t confused before, he was confused now. What was Sanji driving at?
“I’m saying that I want to know how my kiss compares to Zoro’s.” Sanji’s hand brushed Luffy’s face before locking there lips together in a hungry kiss. He had waited far to long for this. He needed it and he needed it now. He wanted more. So much more but he was a gentleman and wouldn’t just take Luffy where he stood. No matter how very, very, very tempting it was right then.
{Twice in one day!!?} Luffy was grateful that Sanji had given him some warning unlike Zoro, but this was still unnerving. Sanji’s kiss was more passionate, but Zoro’s was more patient. Sanji was already begging for an entrance to his mouth. Guilt swam though Luffy. What if Zoro caught him? Sanji’s hands ran up and down Luffy’s back. Pleasure dominated Luffy’s mind as Sanji’s delicate and well trained hands ran down his spine and back up to his neck. Their kiss was all that mattered. The rest of the world seemed to fade. He opened his mouth for Sanji. SCREAW THE CONCIQUENCES!
Sanji played the bits of hair that stuck out form Luffy’s hat. Their tounges wrestled inside the warm refuge of their locked mouths. Luffy’s hands found use for themselves. He himself hadn’t relized that his hand was going to pinch Sanji’s nipple until Sanji moaned and the kiss was broken for a moment. Luffy was suddenly very “excited”. how could a simple noise arouse him some much? He didn’t care. All that mattered now was that Sanji’s warm and very tasty tounge had left his mouth and he wanted it back. He got it back with out much of a fight. Sanji was jumping for glee on the inside and showing that he could hold his own ground in a tounge war on the outside. Niether cared anymore. They became sloppy about the kiss. Droll rolled down their chins as they attacked each other. Luffy eventually won dominating the inside of Sanji’s mouth. Sanji lost balance somewhere during the sensation of having Luffy lick the roof of his mouth. The blonde fell to the floor, but Luffy wasn’t going to let him get away that easy. Both men were son on the ground. Their kiss never broke. They lay in the floor without a care in the world. Footsteps came closer to the kitchen door. It didn’t matter. The world had already faded and wouldn’t fade back until Nami walked though the door and commented.
“Hey, Sanji-kun may I have some…” her voice trailed off as she registered the scene in front of her. Luffy and Sanji flung from each other at lightning speed wiping their mouths in the process. Nami’s eyes widened. Did she really just see what she thought she did? Her jaw dropped. She backed out of the kitchen. Neither of the boys tried to explain. They couldn’t and they knew she wouldn’t listen anyway. She slammed the door behind her when she was out of the kitchen.
Luffy was slightly grateful. What did he think he was doing? Why had he ost control of his body like that? Was he really that dominated by instinct? Why had he been so warm to Sanji but so cold to Zoro? How could he do that? Zoro. Guilt found it’s hold on Luffy once more and Luffy remembered how unbearable guilt was. He put a hand to his face. Sanji looked over to him but said nothing.
“I can’t choose, Sanji. I just can’t. If I choose you then I’ll hurt Zoro and he’s been sailed with me for the longest and I trust him. I don’t know what I’d do without him. But I choose him then I’ll hurt you and you’re my chef and one of my best friends. I can’t think of how any one on the crew could survive without you.” Luffy began to tremble. Why did life suddenly get so hard to understand? A tear strolled down his cheek. “I CAN’T CHOOSE EITHER!!” Luffy ran top speed from the kitchen because he didn’t want the cook to see the river of tears that flowed down his face.
Sanji stumbled a bit. {Luffy was… he was crying!} Guilt swelled inside him. He wanted to bring Luffy happiness but brought him pain. He wanted to make Luffy laugh but had made him cry. Sanji realized it was almost Lunch time. He should cook that was his job.
*****
Zoro finally convinced himself that he couldn’t stay in the storeroom forever. As he made his way on deck he saw someone jolt beneath it. Luffy. Zoro walked toward the door his captain had just ran into. He stopped in his tracks. {I’m the last person he wants to see.} It took just a minute longer to remember that Luffy was in the kitchen something must have happened in there and zoro was going to find out.
He entered the chef’s domain. Sanji was cooking something in a skillet. Clearing his throat, Zoro made his presence known.
“It’s not ready yet.” Sanji hoped Zoro would leave after that. Zoro didn’t get the hint.
“That’s not why I’m here, you shitty love cook. Luffy just bolted under the deck. Do you know why?” Zoro hated himself for having to ask Sanji for information but he was not about to upset his captain more by questioning him.
Sanji bit his lip slightly. He had to tell Zoro about what had happen. The two had to decide what to do about Luffy’s indecision. What they could do about it. His explanation was easy enough to tell. Sanji spoke; Zoro listened. But when it was time to discuss things, things escalated out of proportion.
“YOU DAMN LOVE COOK! ALL THE GIRLS ON THE SHIP WEREN’T GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU! YOU HAD TO HIT ON LUFFY TOO!”
“AT LEAST I KNEW LUFFY WANTED IT! OUR KISS WAS BROKEN BY NAMI! LUFFY PUSHED YOU AWAY REMEMBER!”
“MAYBE I WAS GIVING HIM A CHOICE! WETHER HE WANTED TO KISS ME OR NOT!”
“OBVIOUSLY HE WANTED NOT!”
“IF LUFFY WOULD JUST CHOOSE HE WOULD PICK ME! I‘VE SAILED WITH HIM THE LONGEST AND HE KNOWS THAT I CARE THE MOST!”
“ BUT LUFFY WON’T PICK!”
Silence spread though the room except for the sizzling of lunch in the pan. Luffy wouldn’t choose. That was the source of their problems. Luffy couldn’t or wouldn’t choose. They had to find away around that. Zoro broke the silence.
“What if Luffy didn’t have to choose?”

A/N: sorry for yet another evil cliffhanger but it’s late and I need sleep so I’m ending it here. Plez review. By the way I meant no hate to any of the straw hat crew. Not Nami, not Usopp. No one. No hate. Ok maybe a little hate for Nami. Not much.
Oh and next chapter I promise I’m going to do that promised threesome. Nice and lemony. Mmm..lemon…
