Raven looked a lot calmer in his sleep when Katze returned from his involuntary walk. Raoul had 'decorated' him with a piece of jewelry, Katze wasn't sure how to feel about, but still being every ounce a well trained furniture, he offered a drink.
The calmness on the Blondie's face stood in direct contrast to the frenzy in his mind. His eyes firmly on his pet, he had trouble to get his head around the whole ordeal. He experienced a usual foreign feeling to Blondies in general and Raoul in particular. He experienced guilt at the amount of damage, he'd caused Raven.
“Keep him for a while. He has my permission to work but he must sleep and eat on a regular basis and ... no VR. ... Have you seen to the driver?”
“Yes.”
Raoul took the drink, his eyes never leaving the face of his dark-haired pet.
“Find out whether his abilities suffered.”
“Are you serious about keeping him? After all you have been through.”
“You are dangerously close to overstep the line. Never question my decisions unless they belong to market issues.”
“Raven is a market issue.”
“Fill his vacancy if necessary.”
Katze's terminal hummed, announcing the driver. Raoul didn't wait for him to affirm it. He simply downed his drink, rose in a graceful movement, donning his cloak to hide his blond hair under the hood and declared with an underlying threat, that was not lost on Katze,
“For now, I leave the boy to you. Think of it as a furniture task.”
~~
Raven was woken by the sound of Katze tapping his keyboard. He felt confused and blurred out the first thing that came to his mind,
“It works like a direct link via VR.”
Katze paused for a moment,
“How are you?”
Despite from the pain, exploding behind his eyes from looking directly into the bulb above his head... He found he couldn't answer the question but did so nonetheless,
“I guess fine. ... Where is the Blondie?”
“Gone.”
A dry laughter, spiked with a hint of nervousness escaped his throat,
“They can temper with your mind and simply walk away. That scares the shit out of me.”
“Whatever.”
His head swam for a few more moments, forcing him to press a hand over his eyes to block out the light before he pulled himself up at the backrest of the sofa.
“I go for a walk.”
The dealer turned the terminal of, “Mind if I join you?”
Raven didn't give an answer, it wasn't a question anyway. He got up carefully and vanished into the bedroom, returning minutes later dressed in one of Katzes' old fashioned jeans and jacket. A ghost of a smile appeared on the dealers lips before he stated the obvious,
“They don't fit.”
The boy shrugged and lifted the pet suit with his index finger, holding it up in Katze's face,
“Are you sure, you want me to wear this?”
If the redhead had any thoughts regarding the garment, he didn't gave them away, although he realized a certain satisfaction when Raven sunk the frazzle into the bin.
“Your clothes are still in the closet.”
“I know but they don't fit either. I've grown.”
~~
The cherry trees stood in full bloom, reminding Katze of his days with Iason. They had been here very often and later, after Iason was gone, just him. Than the walks became habitual between him and Raven. Strangely he didn't mind; something about the place was soothing. Aside from the noise of the city, Katze felt able to collect his thoughts. In the park memories came to him more easily than anywhere else, unfortunately memories didn't sit well with the dealer. He didn't understand Raoul, but still being much of the man he was, a man that valued his own life more than anything else he pushed his thoughts aside, enjoying the silent wandering until eventually Raven asked,
“What's going on in the market?”
“Nothing really.”
“I can't stand being trapped in Eos. The boredom is getting on my nerves.”
“I have errands you can take care of.”
Raven sighed, “Errands? Am I an errand boy again or doesn't he want me to do the real thing? What about Soul?”
“Kuga has taken care of him.”
After loosing his eldest and by a hair's breadth the families business with Tanagura, Kuga was fast to deal with his younger son. Up to now Kuga kept his side of the bargain and that was all that mattered to Katze. On the contrary Raven couldn't care less about the type of agreement; he had unfinished business with Soul. Just thinking of the man made his eyes darken with ardor. Katze, who had eyed him with suspicion since the name of Soul fell, deemed it necessary to issue a warning. His tone became cold,
“I don't care if you do, but I value my life. Don't forget your liabilities. You threw enough sand into Soul's gear; he will never inherit Guardian.”
“Not enough.”
“Let it go. Vengeance will earn you nothing.”
“How can you say that. You have been there too. You must have some similar feelings.”
“There is no point in thinking about things, which cannot be changed.”
Raven was past the point of reasoning, nor did he accept Katze's authority, “Don't get in my way with Soul.”
Katze slapped him hard across the face, “Don't waste my time with that shit!”
“Fuck you.”
The boy turned on his heels and made for the Pleasure. Suddenly getting himself dead drunk seemed like a decent idea. Half way to the pub his headache increased, “Shit!” He kicked a garbage can from the sidewalk and went to Jeeko.
“Hi Kid.”
“Have something to drink?”
Jeeko pointed to the fridge and Raven fetched himself a bottle of beer. He gulped it down, despite the burning the liquid left in his throat and slumped down on Jeeko's sofa.
“What is it, Kid?”
“Nothing, have something to do for me?”
The hacker rose a brow, “Maybe. Wanna sleep off first?”
“That would be heavenly.”
He woke to a rough yanking at his shoulder and Katze pulling him to his feet, “We go home!”
Raven blinked against the light. He had one of the worst headaches he could imagine and the dealer wasn't done yelling at him. He sounded like a giant bell in the boy's head,
“I kick your ass back to Raoul in an instant, if you pull something like that again. Is that understood?!“
“Stop pouncing on me!”
“Is. That. Understood?!”
Raven nodded weakly and followed Katze to the car, head down like a chastised puppy.
“Look into the glove locker!”
“What is this?”
“Work for you. Sasser is winding up affairs with Hazall.”

While Raoul in Eos reclined in a nice hot bath to get rid of the day’s stress, muttered a certain black haired mongrel curses to himself, pulling his hair several times. Katze was late and many things plastered the boy's always restless mind. He looked at the ceiling, debating with himself for some time now and when sleep finally found him he tossed around in it until he fell from the sofa. He didn't bother with crawling back on the furniture, just tugged the sheet from it and curled up on the floor. There wasn't anything to do but sleep for a power blackout made the computer terminals as useless as a painting in a dark room. Letting out a long frustrated sigh, he welcomed the tiredness that lead him back to sleep.
Some time later Katze tripped over the sleeping boy in the darkness, landing on him with a loud crack,
“Raven, how often do I have to tell you NOT to sleep on the floor?!”
Rubbing the the spot where Katze hit his ribs, he replied albeit grudgingly, “There's no point in sleeping on the sofa; sooner or later I fall down, anyway.”
“Get up! You can sleep on the floor when you manage to fall out of my bed.”
Without so much as a single light glimmering on the edge of the horizon both mongrels stumbled to their feet, attempting to avoid further painful contact with stray furniture in the darkness. Katze lit his lighter and looked for a candle, which he handed Raven before shoving him away from the sofa. He himself lingered.
“Aren't you coming?”
“I'm capable of sleeping on a sofa without falling down.”
Raven grabbed his wrist and yanked him behind himself into the bedroom, “The bed is big enough for the both of us.”
For a brief moment Katze considered to complain, but with being awake half of the night and not going to sleep the day before, it happened that he didn't care anymore and simply climbed into bed next to the boy. While the dealer pulled the blanket up to his shoulders and curled in on himself, Raven's thoughts kept running through his head.
Sasser.
The council member fishing in the muddy waters of the market didn't sit well with him. The boy moved his arm above his head, turned several timed, and thus made Katze, who only wished for a good night's sleep, more and more nervous.
“Stop muttering!”
“I can't get my thumb on it. I know I've seen it before.”
“Seen what?”
Raven sighed heavily, almost angry, “That's the problem! The guts, Sasser purchased – I've seen them somewhere but I bloody can't get around!”
“Go to sleep or I send you back to the floor!”
Raven laughed, “Didn't you invite me in in the first place?”
“Whatever. Be quiet!”
“Katze?”
“What?!”
“You called the apartment. Who is that new furniture? Where is Janus?”
“Raoul's furnitures plaster your mind at times like this?”
“Janus is a friend. Do you know something?”
The dealer gave up, seating himself against the headboard of the bed, “Hand me the pack and the ashtray!”
Raven reached to his right and groped his way through the darkness unless he found the demanded items. Soon the fragrance of Shiila filled the room.
“Janus was sold to Ambassador Asgard. He is doing fine.”
“How do you know, he's fine?”
“I don't, but he begged me to say he was.”
The boy loves you, Katze. If you do too, take steps further or he might fell in love with Raoul.
“He wanted me to give you a kiss.”
He heard Raven catching his breath, before he asked, “What are you waiting for?”
What am I waiting for? Maybe that's the closest I will ever come to... ,
but instead of answering he dragged more of the cancer stick into his lungs. Like the coiling cigarette smoke, both mongrels drew spirals around each other. As reserved as Raven usually were, resentment built up inside him upon Katze's indifference. Truth to be known, it pierced his heart like a thorn and since thorns don't stop hurting until they are removed, he dared the unthinkable. He moved Katze's hair from his face and gently kissed the scar tissue. Before the dealer knew what was going on, he felt Raven’s warm tongue trace the the entire length of it, causing him to tremble.
It was stupid to hope, but he had to see ... he had to know...
He pressed the cigarette into the ashtray on the nightstand and kissed back, wrapping his arms around the smaller male, that gingerly teased the verge of his lips with the tip of his tongue. The world slowed down for the young mongrel, when Katze invited him into his mouth.
Within a breath the dealer turned into a demanding sensual creature, that was breathtaking at its best. He pulled Raven on top of himself and the boy buried his head in his throat. More confident now with the response, he let his hands travel freely over the well defined muscles of the redhead's chest, brushing over both nipples until they stood taut and erect.
A low groan poured from Katze's throat, sending shivers down Raven’s spine. Hearing the noises of arousal gave him no small amount of relief and increased his own desire. His midnight blue eyes darkened, taking on the color of obsidian; his erection swelled rapidly against Katze's stomach. Without meaning to, he confessed his darkest secret,
“I love you.”
The dealer gasped. He was torn between wanting to shove Raven away, and wanting to grind his hips into the hands that ran over his body. The decision was taken from him when the boy started to delicately explore him with both – tongue and fingers. Though young, he proved being no stranger to carnal pleasure by adding extremely skillful caresses to all of Katze's sensitive places, affecting him far more than he ever thought possible, but Raven wasn't better of himself.
His heart beat frantically in his chest. Under the Sheela Katze's skin had a taste to it, that made him moan softly. He wanted to explore more of it and grew impatient to see the dealer naked. Need was driving him and answered it by peeling the shirt off of the redhead.
“You're so damn beautiful.”
When Raven shifted again to reach for Katze's fly something akin to fright rushed back at him. He struggled to push himself away from the boy, but Raven was prepared and tightened his hold on him. He grabbed a fistful of Katze's red hair and kissed him aggressively, murmuring against the other's mouth,
“Shh, it's o. k.”
before he started to gently drag his hands up and down Katze’s tense body. He didn't want to only be admitted in the dealers pants, he rather wanted him to enjoy his touches. To Raven the dealer was an epitome of male perfection, but to Katze, who lacked intactness in this particular area out- and inside, vulnerability was quite a hurdle to clear, leading to insurmountable reluctance. If it wasn't for this, Katze wouldn't be who he was, for it added apart from looks and charm to the man's enigma. An enigma, Raven was drawn to. He moved behind Katze and briefly buried his face in the redhead's throat before he licked a path down over the pale skin, earning himself a deep sigh from the dealer's lips. Raven's mouth methodically explored the area between the shoulder blades while his hands resumed journeying, one running over tight abdominals, the other caressing the narrow stripe of skin just beneath the waistband.
And then Katze's trousers were gone, the boy's fingers stroking and exploring everywhere, even the skin behind the scrotum and the area around the surgical scars. As much as the redhead wanted to cringe away, something inside stopped him, confronting him with the question 'Why worry?'. Raven certainly didn't. Raven made him whimper and nearly jump out of his skin, because he licked him there.
The redhead's long lashes slowly lifted, amber eyes fastening on the mesmerizing view of the dark siren going down on him in an honest try. Katze slowly extended a hand, running the silken strands of the boy's hair through his fingers.
Raven whetted two fingers and gently circled the dealer's puckered entrance. He went slowly as he slid the first digit inside, softly asking,
“Alright?”
The muscle's protest was to be expected, but Raven never once in the process hurried him and so Katze was able to relax, entrusting himself to the pleasurable sensations. Raven's hands traced incentive patterns of tenderness over his skin. When his lips parted in a faint smile, the boy slid another finger in, seeking stimulation of that certain spot, that eventually propelled Katze over the edge of orgasm in long wrenching pulses.
For a while they just lay there – the blackhead amazed at the trust placed in him, the redhead catching his breath. Content with just that much, Raven moved into the dealer's quiet embrace and whispered,
“I love you so much.”

As he was handed a glass of liquor from his furniture, Raoul relaxed into the fine upholstery of the couch. He pinched the bridge of his nose, his head still spinning with memories that didn't belong there. There was the child, so alike Riki with great insolent eyes, carrying the same fierceness and aloof attitude like a weapon before himself. The infant Raven lived along the lines of conquer or die.
Leaning against the table Raoul's eyes followed the bubbles in his drink, amused by their motivation to journey to the surface where they sighed out their souls. In his mind's eye the present Raven stared reproachfully at him and Raoul couldn't stop thinking,
Hurry Katze, I want him back.
However asinine he felt about it, walking the dark haired mongrel's psyche piqued more than just his clinical curiosity. Raven rode data streams like he was born for it and his mind was trained enough to seal its belongings even from Raoul.
Outstanding and utterly fascinating.
His mind didn't give away how he came upon his extraordinary abilities. Only the physical resemblance connected the younger to the latter Raven, while most of his memories remained sealed deeply within, guarded by a confusing mixture of guilt, sadness and rage. What happened to the scrawny spitting alley kitten to cause such a change in personality, Raoul mused, thinking one more time,
I want him back.
~~~
Katze woke first, arms still wrapped around Raven who was sleeping soundly. He stared in disbelief at the lithe body beneath him before he carefully entangled his limbs from the boy's and got up without waking him. He went straight to his terminal next door.
“Raoul, It's Katze. You can get him back. He hasn't lost his touch.“
